Michael Shrieve is an American musician, drummer, and author of electronic music. His greatest success was with the rock band Santana, with whom he collaborated on their first eight albums from 1969 to 1974. His greatest success was with the rock band Santana, with whom he collaborated on their first eight albums from 1969 to 1974. His performance alongside them in 1969 at the legendary Woodstock, when he was 20, made him one of the youngest performers at the festival.
Michael was born on July 6, 1949. At the age of 16, when he was playing on a jam session, he was first noticed by a representative of Santana, at 19 he was invited to participate in their recording and on the same day was accepted into the band. The collaboration with the band was very successful, but Shreve left her after five years to start a solo career.
He lived for a while in London, where he released several of his albums and collaborated with a number of popular musicians. Among the most successful creative alliances were with the Rolling Stones during the recording of their album in 1980, and with Mick Jagger in 1984. In 1997, together with former members of Santana, he recorded the album “Abraxas Pool”. He also composed music for movies, where you can highlight such films as the thriller “Bedroom Window” and won two Oscars.
