Fifty years has served the theater
George Petrovich
Bannikov Honored Artist of Russia Honored Artist of Russia laureate of various awards Honorary Citizen of Engels. And it all began in 1951 in Astrakhan in the University of Youth where, after graduating from the school named after B. Shchukin and the Volga University, a young head of the literary and pedagogical part and an actor came to the same Astrakhan. The Youth Theatre is an excellent school for young talent, especially in those ideologically difficult times when from all positions and censorship slingshots came out with the production of classical drama.
So it turned out that at the beginning of his creative career
George Bannikov played along with fairy-tale characters of almost all the romantic heroes of William Shakespeare. You couldn’t get a better school at all.
From theater to theater from city to city from one interesting work to another moved a young actor. In Smolensk, in the drama theater - it was in the early 60s - he was entrusted in the play "Denis Davydov" based on the play by V. Solovyov, the main role of the hussar and poet of the national hero and people's favorite.
Bannikov approached this work with his inherent responsibility: he read a lot of literature about the time and about Davydov studied his appearance habits of dressing. It worked. The theater was invited to Moscow and played this performance on the stage of the Kremlin Palace of Congresses. There was excitement and there was success. And there was also a letter from the great-great-granddaughter Denis Davydov, who was present at the play and noted the great internal and external similarity of the actor and his hero and also sent a piece from the hussar mentality of the national hero as a sign of gratitude and respect.
Not content with his theatrical works
George Bannikov creates a pop program based on the works of M. Gorky and receives the title of laureate for it. Maybe this was the first step to changing the theater genre?
But the real change was still far away. There was also a successful work in the Saratov Drama Theater, where the acting couple –
George Bannikov and Rimma Belyakov – played the main roles in remarkable performances. Especially remembered Saratov handsome man from the play of the same name by A. N. Ostrovsky which
George Petrovich played more than 180 times. A year after arriving in Saratov
Bannikova was invited to teach the skill of an actor at the Saratov Theatre School. His pedagogical career caused a radical change in his life. One of his courses of future dramatic artists was so "singing" that the master decided to put with him as a diploma not dramatic but musical performance.
It was the “Sevastopol waltz” by K. Listov. It was the reason for the appointment of Georgy Petrovich
Bannikov and in 1981 the main director of the Saratov Operetta Theater.
Since then, another twenty years have passed and now the actors of the operetta note that in their approach to work on the role they profess the dramatic principle that is, not only sing and dance with all the diligence required in the performances of their genre, but also try to find the depth of the image of the character, the motivation of the actions of their stage heroes and reveal the logic of the action developing at the moment on the stage. It is not surprising that on tour in other cities, both spectators and critics and colleagues in the workshop in the performances of the Saratov Operetta Theater, along with his professional skill, noted a powerful dramatic beginning that conveyed a special appeal to their performances.
Needless to say, on the stage of the operetta theater with the arrival of George
Bannikov and soon appeared Denis Davydov from the heroic musical comedy of the same name by A. Mdivani and sang in the beautiful voice of Valery Mironenko! So strange and surprising is history and life stitching our destinies.
37 years Georgy Petrovich is accompanied by his wife Rimma Ivanovna Belyakova Honored Artist of Russia Professor of the Theatre Faculty of the Saratov Conservatory. Their son Denis
Bannikov lives and works in Moscow. He is a well-known television director and currently works for ORT, where, together with D. Dibrov and many others, he makes the program “Night Shift”. And Petrovich himself
George Petrovich still heads the Saratov Operetta Theater, which thanks to his great work on the formation of a special inner spirit of the team sincerely wishes him health and longevity. And we note the great creative contribution of the anniversary to the development of theatrical art of Saratov with pleasure join these wishes.
