Carl Kress is an American jazz guitarist.
Born in 1907. He began his career as a successful studio guitarist in 1926 with musician, composer and conductor Paul Whiteman. He actively performed in the 1920-30s, in the 1940s he was a music producer at Capitol Records.
Also in the 1940s, Kress was at the head of his own orchestra, and at some point in his career he owned the Onyx Club in New York.
He died of a heart attack while touring with his guitar duo partner on June 10, 1965.
