He graduated from the University of Surrey with a degree in hotel management and began his career in a restaurant.
In 1977, he founded President Entertainmen, a company specializing in themed restaurants in London. His business quickly grew to about 70 establishments by 1987. Earle's other projects include his work on expanding the Hard Rock Cafe network.
In 1991, Earl founded Planet Hollywood, which opened restaurants, and later hotels under this brand.
