Screenwriter, humorist, science fiction writer, member of the Union of Writers of Russia Leonid Kaganov was born in Moscow on May 21, 1972 in a family of civil engineers. He graduated from eight classes of the school, then the technical school of radio electronics, the Moscow Mining University with a degree in programming and the faculty of psychology of Moscow State University with a degree in neuropsychiology.
Leonid Kaganov worked as a programmer for a short time, then it turned out that he began to write scripts for the popular O.S.P. Studio program in the 90s. Then he closely studied literature, and since 1998 became a member of the Union of Writers of Russia.
In 1999 he published the book “Team D”, however, under the pseudonym of the publishing house. In 2002, the debut collection “Commutation” was released, which received three awards. From 2002 to 2007, Leonid Kaganov wrote novels and collections “Charisma”, “Day of Academician Pokhel”, “Give God to Everyone”, “Protein Deficiency”. “Epic of the Predator” includes several stories and some of them do not belong to the fantastic genre, their cynicism and humor will not immediately be understood by readers.
Leonid Kaganov writes in the genre of fantasy, explaining his interest by the fact that this genre allows you to move away from any framework in literature and write anything you want. The audience of readers of Kaganov’s works is very different. The work of Leonid Kaganov is appreciated by various awards and prizes, including the Bronze Snail Award by B. Strugatsky.
The writer himself does not read books, but loves Russian writers, for example, the Strugatsky brothers, Viktor Pelevin, Sergei Lukyanenko, prefers Mikhail Bulgakov from the classics.
