The girl’s family traveled a lot, and by the age of ten, the baby managed to live in England, France and Switzerland, and also made a transition through the Himalayas with her parents. The future writer graduated from school in Los Angeles. In high school, Cassandra began writing stories that entertained her classmates. Among them was the epic novel The Beautifull Cassandra, based on the story by Jane Austen. After that, the girl took a creative pseudonym.
After college, she lived in New York and Los Angeles, where she worked for some magazines and tabloid newspapers.
The first popularity to Cassandra came after writing The Draco Trilogy, in which the writer described the life of one of the heroes of the famous “Harry Potter” Draco Malfoy. The book was very popular with Potter fans. She also wrote The Very Secret Diaries based on The Lord of the Rings.
In 2004, Claire began writing her own series of books called City of Bones.
In 2007, the first book of the series called “City of Bones” was published, and in early 2008 the second book of the series – “City of Dust” was released.
The books tell the story of fifteen-year-old Clary Frey, who came to the Twilight world, where the battle of good and evil must decide the fate of humanity. A girl witnesses a strange murder and her life changes dramatically.
Currently, the bibliography of the writer consists of ten books, of which six are in the series The Mortal Instruments, and three are in the series The Infernal Devices.
She is scheduled to release another book, The Shadowhunter’s Codex, in late 2013. She also plans to start writing a new book series called The Dark Artifices.
