Polish actor of theatre and cinema.
He was born on July 9, 1927 in Warsaw. During World War II he served in the National Army. He took part in the organization of the Warsaw Uprising, participated in the fighting as a motorized rifleman. After the surrender of Warsaw, he was held in a German concentration camp, from where he returned to Poland in September 1945. From 1947 he studied acting in Krakow and then at the Warsaw Theatre School (graduated in 1950).
He worked at the Syrena Theatre, the Polish Theatre, the People's Theatre in Warsaw, the People's Theatre in Nova Huta, the theaters of Gdansk, Wroclaw, Krakow. In the 70s he was an actor at the National Theatre and the Estrada Theatre in Warsaw.
Zdislav Maklakiewicz was a character actor, he played many comedy and grotesque characters. In the 70s, together with Jan Himilsbachem, he created the famous comedy duo.
He died on October 9, 1977.
