Well, finally I came across a film imbued with the spirit of France, with these incomprehensible Frenchmen living with emotions, cheating, suffering from it, but not able to do anything about themselves. In general, real free people who perfectly understand that they live once, but take everything from life is not human.
One of the significant advantages of the film is the musical component: almost all the action takes place under the beautiful music of classics, which is not surprising, because one of the characters is an ardent fan of Schubert. But to hear in the picture can not only Schubert. And, what is especially pleasing, music does not live by itself, and is not a “beautiful addition”, it is like a sheet of paper on which the artist writes his cinematic canvas: without it there would be no work, as there would be no it and without the action itself.
The film proves that there can be no friendship between a man and a woman. And in general, please explain to me, what kind of friendship is it when a friend comes to you, complains that all his thoughts are occupied with sex and therefore he can not do anything, even work, and asks you to help him relieve tension, roughly speaking? How would you respond to those words?
I also don’t quite understand the story of a dinner in an unfamiliar city with an unfamiliar man, which was supposed to end with a kiss, despite the fact that both men and women have partners. Thank you for your help, forgive my naivety. In general, I say, the French are extremely incomprehensible to me, but they are not without charm. That’s how this film began to watch with indignation, which soon disappeared somewhere, and there was only interest and easy falling in love with each of the characters.
It’s a good movie, I really liked it, and that’s exactly what I’ve been needing for months: relax, swell, and smile.
And yet He managed to persuade a casual acquaintance to tell the story... briefly and without too much detail. The story “in two words” lasted for an hour and a half. The story is slow, with pauses, as if the authors allow the Spectator to write his scenario, think and slowly finish a particular scene in his own way.
In every way, this is a French movie! Airily and unobtrusively, easily and even comically played some scenes and even such a languid narrative does not slide into despondency and gray anguish ... rather, it is brooding, elegant melancholy ... And there is something to think about here, because this is a story from life ... a story that is near us and around us ... a story that probably happened to each of us, but in its interpretation ... without a doubt ...
We strive to find peace and peace of mind. Having received or approaching the desired, what do we do next? Are we getting bored? or are we getting bored? . . ?
We're all different. One is content with a “quiet harbor”, and for the other – the day is spent in vain, if the “powder barrel” does not work.
Loved the finale of the picture. The final is not unambiguous. The finale, which personally gave me fewer answers than threw “heaps” of questions for reflection ... including the restlessness of human nature, which promises “peace we only dream” ... about the eternal search for something better, forgetting, sometimes, about what you already have ... about risk, which is not always justified, and the desire to take a step into the illusory future is much stronger than the instinct of self-preservation, and the call of temptation drowns out the timid whisper of reason ...
A beautiful film that I already want to review more closely to the details ... and enjoy the languid dimension of the story, which will not let you get bored. . .
I like French movies with their atmosphere and lightness, so I was eager to see it. “Let’s Kiss” is a French comedy melodrama, which turned out to be very original and sensual. This film is not for everyone, but connoisseurs of European cinema, this melodrama should like. The film is full of various funny comic situations, and its main sensitive and intriguing theme is revealed in a peculiar, unusual and tasteful way. I liked this film and remember it well, it looks easy, and its story is imbued from the first to the last frame with some French charm and theme about kissing.
We see heroes who met by chance and liked each other, but before allowing herself to kiss, the girl told an unusual and ironic story.
The melodrama is imbued with funny overtones and charm, which makes this movie so original and worthy of attention. The cast was pleasant and all the French actors played well and without falsehood. Virginie Ledwien is a sweet and pleasant European actress, and I’ve liked her for a long time, and I’m always willing to watch movies with her, and I liked her controversial role. Previously unknown to me, actor and director Emmanuel Mouret was comical and talented in his film, and some of the scenes with him were really funny and awkward, which makes the viewer embarrass and laugh.
"Un baiser s'il vous plait" is a sweet and gentle French film about feeling, about kissing, about passion and about how important the first kiss is and where it can lead. The film has meaning and exclusivity, and I’ve never seen that before, and I loved the story. I think that this French ironic melodrama deserves the attention of fans of European cinema, and I appreciate this film positively. No one can ever know what the first kiss will lead to, and what will come out of it, and whether it will cause a slight fascination or some consequences that will be significant and will regenerate into something else. I liked the fact that the director presented everything ironically and with the taste of melodrama and comedy.

Not much about the plot and emotions before the film: I came across this picture because of Virginie Ledouyen, who I liked in the movie The Beach. The situation in the film is vital, because probably many of us were in a situation where we kissed without thinking about what it can lead to. The film is about the power of one meaningless kiss, as it seemed to the main characters. In fact, it was different, much more complicated. This kiss drastically changes the lives of these two former friends. Everything would be nothing... but each of them already has, as they think, a loved one. I don’t want to cover the whole story, so I’ll just recommend this film to anyone who loves French movies. Music, filming, acting - all this from the very beginning points to French cinema.
About disadvantages and pros: Let's start with the pros. Here, of course, it is necessary to note the acting, especially the main character of the film, played by Virginie Ledouyen. It is worth noting and well-chosen music (but this French cinema has always been famous for). And of course the plot, the topic is very interesting and vital.
Now for the minuses. The film may seem boring and drawn-out, but here it is for an amateur, someone will like, someone will not.

The problem in this case seems to be that a strange impression is created - the French were suddenly denied a sense of humor and their flair for elegant eroticism completely disappeared. And do not save even the white walls of the apartment of the heroine of Virginia Ledwayen, where periodically between the "love" is something similar to love. The viewer is offered to laugh in a rather intrusive form where it is not at all funny, implying that the relationship between new lovers is cute and funny. Once beautiful hand caressed the chest and slid over the clothes, that is, perhaps, all the eroticism on which you can stop the eye, but everything else is somehow very unFrench. Judging by the films throughout the history of cinema, the French know how to love beautifully and gracefully part, and how they have affairs on the side, and you can learn at all.
The plot unfolds in two planes, but the originality of this film language does not acquire. The girl meets the young man and refuses to kiss him, and then the whole film tells why. Allegedly because a kiss on the side destroyed the family life of one of her good friends. So there the problem is not in the kiss, but in the patterns of behavior of ridiculous, pathetic, and sometimes even cruel towards their loved ones, to those who love them. One is imbued with deep sympathy for her husband, trying to get rid of him, besides his wills, they arrange personal life in a very categorical and primitive form.
A strange aftertaste remained from the film - as if I watched "American Pie 8", but baked according to the recipe of French onion soup.

And only for Schubert.
p.c.
I never noticed that Ledwayen mowed so hard on the right eye, which was unpleasantly surprising.
Perhaps you were surprised by such a strange title? After all, someone will think that the film is about kissing and love, but if you look deep... everything is much more banal and simpler.
Important components of “creation”:
Slow plot. Phrases with the aroma of shy lust and pretended innocence. It's kind of erotic. And that's the most flattering definition. The forbidden fruit is sweet. Yes! Banality is the main feature of the whole story. The breath of France in every gesture, the image of heroes.
The plot is presented in the form of a “retelling”, when the heroine tells the story of her acquaintances to explain her strange behavior to a new friend. And it was promised a brief summary, but dragged on the whole film. Here the “listener” kept his word and very briefly (within 5-10 minutes) outlined his meeting with “love”. It turned out so playful and ridiculous that I wanted to laugh, but I “disturbed” held back.
The whole film is based on the desire to reproduce and trying to choose the best male or female. And yes. Especially pay attention to the color and decoration of the hotel room at the end of the film. Here are the main reasons why you can conclude: watch or not even try? Someone will say this is a film about love and how dare you “print” it. Yes, yes! About love so faked and selfish that you want to yawn, not believing it.
Romance? Oh no! This simple animal instinct took possession of the hero and he decided to satisfy him with his “best” girlfriend, and then... amazingly, he turned into “love”... Funny! It's just that this female was better than the old one.
Take a look and waste an hour and a half. Why is it worth looking at this "masterpiece"? To feel disgust and see another "incompetence" of cinema.
