Lowest score for the film "Highest score" The name of Brian Robbins is unlikely to say much to the viewer, but, nevertheless, his figure in the cinema deserves at least some attention. Brian Robbins is more of a producer than an actor or director. Among the films in which he invested money, there are such as “Coach Carter”, “Radio” and “Dreamer”, which won special sympathy of fans of blue. Among the works where Robbins took on the duties of chief director is to highlight the sports melodrama “Hardball” with Keanu Reeves, which, in my humble opinion, is somewhat underestimated. Later, he immersed himself in work in comedies with Eddie Surphy, but their creative tandem hardly brought great dividends to both of them, and Norbit's Tricks in general turned out to be a nightmare, completely disappointing fans of comedian Murphy's talent. But between them, the semi-comedy / semi-melodrama “High Score” fell exactly, where Robbins managed to gather the most promising young actors under his banners, starting with Chris Evans and ending with Scarlett Johansson.
The film was written by a duet consisting of Mark Hyman and John Zack, and it was adapted for Robbins by Mark Schwan, who then fruitfully collaborated once again with Brian Robbins in the film Coach Carter. They will tell us how a small group of high school students decide to steal answers to the final test from the school before graduation, otherwise they will not see prestigious colleges and universities, and, as a result, high-paying jobs. Provided that the first test has already “successfully” failed, stealing a new one is their only chance, as they are quite sure that they can’t afford the second one either. Each of the gangs is an individual and they would hardly communicate with each other without this unfortunate test. Joining forces, they go to the "business", but soon realize that this test is not the most important thing in life and the assessments do not say anything. And then the completely unexpected talents of each of them are revealed and the viewer understands that each of this gang-leaks can quite find themselves in life if they correctly direct their talents.
Honestly, the film is not particularly striking with its development, or rather does not strike at all. Bryan Robbins and the writers took a special look at the character of each character in their film, which can be explained by the fact that the actors who played in “High Scores” were clearly potential big stars. Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson all so happened, others, unfortunately, career did not go as happily uphill. Especially unfortunate in this case is Eric Christensen, who had all the prerequisites to become no less a star than Evans and Johansson. I must say that the young actors did not spoil the film at all, but none of them was marked by anything special. Therefore, “High score” can easily be called a passing picture for each of the actors. And that made it more boring than interesting, because it’s only interesting if you want to see Evans and Johansson on the screen when they were young and went to such roles as Captain America and Black Widow. By the way, not only the Marvel Cinematic Universe will give Evans and Johansson the opportunity to play together, even before that they will have a joint film in 2007, The Nanny Diaries.
“The highest score” will contain only a couple of memorable scenes and nothing more. From humor, you can remember only the harsh mother of Desmond (Tyra Ferrell), who has no authority and she will press everyone to the nail, which in her own skin felt Roy (Leonardo Nam), an Asian who smokes “weed”, but with Desmond’s mother he will definitely go to re-education. And the Asian and the tall African-American Desmond (Darius Miles) will become best friends. And shooting “from the floor” will demonstrate an unexpected angle from Scarlett Johansson, but in the image of a broken girl it fits quite well. Well, the scene with the final revaluation of values - that's all that, perhaps, carries the tape "Highest score", although its finale and, in fact, the only reason to see the tape "High score" with a somewhat obscure genre, but while getting to the morality of it should not expect something rich and curious. Therefore, you should approach the viewing in a relaxed state, otherwise the film may even anger you, and who needs it?
In general, “The Highest Score” is a film with some morality, but its viewer at the moment it will find only if he wants to get acquainted with the works of already formed Hollywood stars Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson. You don’t have to count on a higher score.
