I would really like to talk to you, sweetie. Since 1928, when the first Five-Year Plan was launched, cinema has become one of the fronts of the grand battle for socialist industry. Filmmakers were interested in absolutely all aspects of the life of citizens, from work to family. The love longings of heroes and heroines on the screen in the 30s bore an extremely censored imprint. The courtships took place not so much in an intimate atmosphere as under the “vigorous eye of the collective.” It is for this reason that there are so many funny scenes in the films of those years with “farewell to the young”. But time does not stand still, and some of the directors gradually allow themselves “freedom”, which somehow miraculously skip the censorship bans, and the viewer sees on the screen the first film in which the heroine, who is legally married, the husband offers to have an abortion!
For the director and screenwriter Igor Savchenko, this is a rather brave act. After all, for the immoral behavior of the main character alone, the film could easily be sent to the shelf. Fortunately, this did not happen because Igor Andreyevich invented and made a film story that was interesting to watch then, and even more interesting today. There are no accidents in a good movie: everything follows from one another. If we were talking about children, so the main place of action was chosen factory for the production of children's toys. As one character proudly states, “We are 40% of the Union’s toys!” Indeed, looking at the products of the factory, even today you feel pride in people - so much to come up with! And all with love and understanding of the child's soul! Love is visible not only in relation to children, it is literally spilled all over the screen.
She is in every frame of the cinematographer Julia Vogelman. It's about the angle of the flowering trees. She is dressed in white clothes of men, women and even policemen. She is in the lyrical songs of Peter Savin and Galina Pashkova. She literally hovers in the air of a country that does not even know that she is waiting for her in 5 years. Against the background of a positive story, the story of the narcissistic instructor of the gymnasium Grigory Rybin begins to unfold. The debut role of Evgeny Samoilov, immediately forced to talk about his talent. Indeed, Samoilov played a negative character so vividly that he forced the viewer to transfer the natural negativity from the character to the actor himself. His eccentric antics and offensive statements emphasize and deepen the vicious qualities of Grigory Rybin.
The dream of becoming the coach of the famous champion, eclipses everything else for him. He does not notice the sincere joy of his wife Irina (Galina Pashkov), who dreams of future motherhood with delight. The reckless selfishness forces him not to say, but literally spit out phrases offensive to Irina: "I do not offer anything - this is your business!", "In 40 years - please, and today I do not want a child!" All of Gregory's ostentatious nobility boils down to the phrase "your business." He does not pronounce the emotional sentence “abortion”, allowing Irina to decide for herself. The creators of the picture give the hero several attempts to correct the situation. But Grigory Rybin, went, as they say, “in a rage” – it is much easier to blame everyone around than to admit your wrongness. The man could not withstand the first family difficulties and banally chickened. But Soviet films never left the heroines in such a desperate situation. There are always friends, there are friends. And then there is a person who loves the girl herself, not the girl in sports.
Be monotonous, the sleep of love pierced, caresses crazy and captive hearts. Cries of song, responses of the soul, the sun the light of the morning and happiness without end ... ("The everyday life of monotonous" Y. Haight, P. Grigoriev)
