I am very surprised by the low rating of this series. I knew many people were disdainful of soap operas, but not to the same degree. Perhaps it was not the disdain of the youth for the series that affected it, but something else - perhaps the presence of mysticism in the series, sometimes looking like miracles, and something about improbability. I have personally seen high ratings of foreign long-playing melodramatic series, and the Russian "Three against all" and "Poor Nastya" received very good ratings. What caused this hatred of Carmelite remains a mystery to me. I watched it during the broadcast, in 2005, at the age of 13, when Russian TV was a fashion trend for soap operas from producer Yuri Belenky, when one after another in the past years were watched by all pensioners of Russia “Thief”, then “Three against all”, then “Undina” and “Carmelita” – which is remarkable, the ratings of these series on Kinopoisk are in order of decline according to the chronological order of their release, and this despite the fact that in later projects Belenkoy there was a much higher technical component: after the poor seas, there were beautiful in the following “s in the underwater scenes” and “the seas”. The subsequent “Carmelita” did without this, however, here its own feature is a costume series, the creation of which was attracted by real gypsies, so as not to lie about anything, showing gypsy life and customs (there will be vocal and dance numbers, and extreme scenes with horseback riding). The grandmother of the main character was played by a real gypsy. In the series were invited both long-known actors and young, for whom the roles in “Carmelite” became star.
Yulia Zimina is one of those who became famous thanks to this project, this actress became a TV star. She even had to prove to everyone that she was not a real gypsy, but only played one. Alexey Ilyin has long become a star of TV series and played positive characters everywhere, as if because of his appearance no one offered him to play villains (now for a similar role and the same ability to appear everywhere we know the film actor Alexander Petrov). The characters played by Ilyin are the same in Simple Truths, Three Against All and here. But Vadim Andreev, on the contrary, got the opportunity to get rid of the monotony of good images from the same "Three against all" and "Undina", and unexpectedly for everyone played a criminal authority who costs nothing to kill a person just to cover up the traces of another serious crime. Alexander Suvorov may have started with this role, the role of a noble gypsy, devoted to the traditions of his people, which did not prevent him from playing a villain in the TV series “Fire of Love” (I was almost not familiar with this project, my grandmother watched it, I did not connect to the viewing), as well as on his account the role of the same villain in the first series of the second season of “Puteyets”. Irina Senotova, after the role of a vile relative of the main characters in “Three against all” again received a negative role – this time her heroine is ready to go on much more serious crimes, besides, she keeps an important secret.
Perhaps if there were more pensioners sitting on the crown website of movie lovers, the rating of Carmelita would be much higher. I watched it as a child and boasted that my taste is not “spoiled” by action movies and comics, and that I like to watch people’s lives. Many years passed, and immediately after graduating from school in 2009, I became addicted to a large movie of various genres, and with soap operas ceased to get involved because of the huge number of series, although in 2013 I decided to revise a couple of TV series from a distant childhood, however, those that did not differ in a long multi-series timing, and that you can watch in a short time. "Carmelita" I do not intend to review, and there is no sense, the series is well deposited in memory and left pleasant memories of childhood. I liked everything in this series: from the picture, filled with colorful gypsy costumes and booths, and vocal and dance numbers; to the exciting plot, which is full of love lines, tragic incidents, life dramas. In the course of the series, I had to part ways with some beloved characters who were killed because the actors who played them refused to act further due to heavy schedules. The lead actress had no right to break the contract and leave the project, and experienced nervous breakdowns, to which she was told that she should be grateful for the star role. It follows from all this that it was not so easy to create this series for the entire crew, and the work on this project took a lot of effort and was a huge work. And our young and mature audience appreciated this work. It's not good. The whole family watched and loved this series. Yes, the main audience of screen creativity of this format are pensioners. But that doesn’t mean the series is bad. If there is a desire and a lot of time, and aversion to the visual cost and cruelty on the screen (well, yes, this really applies mainly to the elderly, while we, a relatively younger generation, do not mind looking at the fight between good and evil in a more aggressive way), then why not. Review for those who saw the series during its release — I don’t think that anyone now suddenly want to watch the epic in a hundred-plus series hailed from the last generation, even among connoisseurs of the genre.
You can see it!
This series has a lot of fans, a lot of those who do not like it. I’m not a fan of melodramatic series, but I’ve watched Carmelita and watched some scenes. I would compare this series with an exquisite toy - not a work of high art, but made with talent.
Judging by the description of the plot, it seems that this is just a banal soap opera. But there’s a special kind of soul in Carmelite that sets it apart from the rest of the series. The music is good. The tabor shown in the series is also a theater troupe. There are a lot of songs and dances here. But I remember the song "Kibitka", perfectly performed by Anna Dankova. This is not quite a gypsy romance, but it is very suitable for the main character, combining gypsy and Russian. And fans of gypsy singing will appreciate the songs performed by Nikolai Lekarev (Baro) and Irena Morozova (Rubyna) – gypsies, actors of the theater “Roman”. Despite its modest budget, the series is beautiful. A lot of picturesque nature, greenery, light. Beautiful costumes, jewelry.
It's not all bad with content. Carmelite has interesting characters. There are also multifaceted ones that unfold gradually. Interesting shows the relationship (lovers, parents and children, friends). The actors play well. Vadim Andreev is great in the role of colorful lawyer Leonid Force. The young actors also accomplished their tasks.
And of course, it is impossible not to mention the talented director - Rauf Kubaev.
I’m not saying that everything is good – there are shortcomings, and significant ones. The series has a lot of beaten plot moves, which is funny, but is explained by the specifics of the genre of telenovela. And like other telenovelas, Carmelita is long. 170 episodes - a clear overkill. Some scenes are superfluous and just slow down the plot.
Despite the disadvantages, the series had a very high rating on television, it was watched and still watched by many people. I can recommend his fans of slow, but pleasant to the eye films and TV series with thoughtful characters. And here's the sequel to "Carmelita." “Gypsy passion” is not recommended to watch.
I first watched Carmelita on TV when I was ten years old. The series struck with bright colors, costumes, gypsy songs and dances. Carmelita was a kind of overseas princess (she even had a horse, like a real princess) locked in a castle, I thought that the gypsies just fabulous, fun and carefree life. However, the plot is very predictable, even a child can guess who is hiding behind the mask of the main villain, as happened to me. In the series there is a lot of mysticism, divination, visions, healing and even ghosts.
When I got older, I revisited the series and there were some questions. Let's start in order.
Carmelita is an eighteen-year-old girl who does not work or study anywhere. At best, she finished high school. Her friend Sveta is also an unemployed girl without education (although you can probably consider a professional education art school). All free time girls run after lovers and argue with their parents. The question arises which audience the series with such main characters is aimed at.
Astakhov is a businessman who is manipulated by everyone who is not lazy: his wife, son, lawyer. He doesn’t see what’s going on in his family or his company. The question arises how such a person was able to succeed in business at all.
Zemfira and Lucita are represented in the series as mother and daughter. It looks like they are the same age.
The finale of the series was supposed to be different. Watching the series the second time, I noticed a very big blunder. Those who have already watched the series know that there is a big, big mystery that opens towards the end, but not in itself. Those who haven’t seen it will know what I’m doing. Carmelita and Astakhov meet twice in the series. First time in court, and Astakhov does not notice anything unusual in her. The second time they are introduced by Maxim, the characters for some reason do not remember that they have already met and communicated before, and then suddenly Astakhov notices something unusual in Carmelite. Hence the conclusion that the final was planned for another, and the big, big secret was pulled by the ears to delay the finale of the series and shoot another 20-50 episodes.
Despite everything, the series turned out to be very good. Such a classic "Santa barbrara" in gypsy. I was happy to watch the first part and watch the second. If they shoot a third, I'd love to watch it.
I am going from the district center of Lublino to Krasny Yar, I was interviewed on a subpoena for the army, a bus full of old people. The grandparents were arguing about something, and suddenly one grandfather's voice was all over the bus: 'Are you watching Carmelita?' And here we go. . .
This is the only series for housewives. The one I watched. In the evening, the aunt and grandmother sat down near the TV and in the one-room apartment there was nothing left to keep them company.
The series revolves around a gypsy Carmelita (Yulia Zimina) and two guys, one rich, the other poor. Almost a genre classic. No, there was a guy, also a gypsy.
Like all soap operas, everything in the world awaits us. The heroes will have to survive love, betrayal, treason, crime, the death of loved ones, illness, memory loss, shattered hopes, happiness and pain. The whole palette of feelings will flash through the viewing series.
The Gypsies in the series appear to us as we used to see them before the October Revolution, they are noble lords and ladies, acting for the amusement of the public and therefore forced to wander. You will not be shown those gypsies who are guessing at train stations, trying to beg for money. No, all esotericism comes true, predictions become reality. And at the end of the action, the characters will not be who they were represented throughout the series. And new blows of fate will lead the heroes into new seasons.
In principle, the meaning of such soap operas is that you need to bomb the viewer with any turns, tricks and somersaults until the viewer turns away and switches to the same performance only with fresh faces.
We are also waiting for the classic rich atmosphere of a private house, which will be shown to us before the scenes in it. In general, before all the scenes, we are shown the facades of buildings where this happens, this is also one of the clichés of this genre.
In general, this series is for housewives and for those who miss work and stupidly kill time, staring at the TV screen, for example, security guards at a construction site. The story of a prince on a white horse.
No offense, but
The series is a typical melodramatic something that I watched with my grandmother (amateur ' action ' gypsy stories) in quite large excerpts. In the end, I never understood what this series is so unusual and attractive for women.
Sometime after the first five episodes, I just didn’t understand what was happening on screen. Someone loves someone, someone abandons someone, the hospital, the kidnapping, in general songs-dances (beautifully performed, but sometimes inappropriately inserted). Typical ' twisted ' the plot of the Russian series, where nothing is understandable and stupid. Mr. Realism nervously twists his finger at his temple.
Actors aren't impressive. They say text without emotion. Only occasionally does anyone (the male characters) growl menacingly, trying to portray a gypsy fighting temperament. Julia Zimina (Carmelita) naively and frightenedly claps her eyes and loves everyone in a row.
In general, this is ' creation' able to impress only ladies over 50, and even then not too smart and educated. A little smart person simply will not believe what is happening on the screen.

Carmelita is a Russian TV series and unnecessary soap opera with endless, empty series. After watching this gypsy show because of my grandmother, I was shocked by what they show. Well, how could this be put on television? This series is so playful that it is simply discouraging and striking. Every episode is false, almost every scene is implausible and horribly, terribly played. About the actors, I do not say anything, because their play is at the level of kindergarten.
We see the story of a gypsy camp and the daughter of a gypsy baron. Her name is Carmelita, and she lives by the rules and traditions of her family. Everything changes in the moment when she falls in love with a Russian guy and does not want to live under the laws of the gypsy.
This series is exclusively for grandmothers. It is so empty and unnecessary that you want to forget it and never think about it again. I haven't seen that kind of playfulness in a long time. This garbage only spoils our cinema, and because of it, it cannot reach the next level. Have those who created this series not seen that each episode is terribly fake and there is not a drop of truth and something alive? That sucks! Roles in this soap opera were played by such actors as Alexander Suvorov, Alexei Ilyin, Vadim Andreev, Egor Barinov, Nadezhda Bakhtina, Kirill Burdikhin, Olga Pearl and others. All those empty, second-rate actors, and nobody impresses. The main role of Carmelita went to Julia Zimina. The Russian actress played a gypsy, and all our Russian grandmothers now know her for this role.
This movie is empty and nobody needs it. “Carmelita” is the garbage of our television, and this series belongs in the trash can. It sucks. Let's forget this nonsense.
So, under close attention is the immortal creation of the Russian film industry, which still can not get out of the hole.
The idea seemed original only at the stage of viewing ads and pilot series. This enthusiasm came out like a genie from a bottle of valerian.
What do we have in the script? His total absence. The idea is even good, but it is filmed so much that I do not want to talk. At first, everything is bright, colorful. Dances, songs, fights in the restaurant, stabbing and ancient traditions of tabor, transferred to our century. A gypsy who is constantly in the wrong place at the wrong time, a guy with ambition and his friend - major (Is it worse?!) plus a war of businessmen and a lawyer - sly. Not counting the beloved rival, the grandmother of the witch and many forces ' evil ' as well as extras to create one or another atmosphere.
Next is a classic and predictable love story of Carmelita and Max, with constant throwing of the heroine from him to the gypsy and traditions. I love it, I don’t love it, and then I love the insanity of the heroines and authors.
An action thriller with elements of a detective. Carmelita is just Rambo in incarnation, wherever she throws, always comes out “dry from the water”, while making new enemies.
What a busy life in small towns! Just jealousy! Everyone knows everyone, everyone was once in prison, lying in the hospital (Morgue, crypt, basement).
No, the first hundred episodes are nothing, tolerable, as long as everyone is alive and everything is beautiful. Lush skirts, dancing and songs. And some twists seem to be true. But then, when a point is asked, for some reason they shoot another 70 episodes of the first season, and then the failed second, which does not even reach the level of the original.
What I can’t find fault with is the music, it’s really impressive, catches and takes heart, the songs are great. The work of costumers is also good, but the props did not bother to create a reliable settlement and apartments of the baron and a competitor, it seems, were filmed in one pavilion.
Landscapes of Veliky Novgorod mixed with scenery make you smile. No more, the effect of a deaf, but colorful province does not work. And for local residents, it is not clear why the geography of the regional center has been remade.
Movies are the best decoration of the film. You just don't have time to follow the miracles of the dexterity of the heroes. Say a baron enters a room in a black shirt, sits down at a table in a red and leather jacket, stands up again in a shirt. Probably nervous because of my daughter.
The film is designed for housewives who do not look at the screen, and grandmothers who do not care under what background to knit socks.
Without delving into the action, you can watch, preferably the beginning, middle and final, you will not lose anything. Intellect is better to turn off, or it may suffer accidentally. We look and rejoice that the provincials live colorfully and brightly.
