It’s one of those movies I’ve seen for the sake of development. Since the genre of horror and movies about school are deeply parallel to me, and Megan Fox has never been my type, I only forced me to see this movie today, when I am already in my 20s. In general, it is a bad idea to watch popular, but alien things just because of their popularity and in the hope of improving your personal life. As much as I expand my horizons, I never said goodbye to loneliness. But this is empty, let’s move on to the movie Jennifer’s Body.
It's atmospheric, like almost all the films starring Amanda Seifred. And like all the iconic films of the 2000s. Of course, this should be seen not in adulthood, but in adolescence. I couldn’t see Jennifer’s body in a timely manner, so my assessment is highly subjective.
The film features stereotypical beauty Jen (Megan Fox) and her stereotypical 'scary' girlfriend Anita/Nidy (Syfred). Truth be told, I find Anita much more beautiful and interesting than Jennifer. Even though there's some weird angles here for Nidi. If you take off her stupid glasses, beautifully dress and comb your hair, also effectively paint and remove the manners of nerd, then you do not even know who would be the star of the school - she or the killer-rock bimbo girl Jennifer. So I get really annoyed by this cliché in girls' movies about growing up. Those who are usually assigned the role of a gray mouse in the shadow of the “goddess”, often have much greater potential and their beauty can easily bury at least five hundred Megan Fox, if they are taken out of this shadow.
The fact that students here look much older than school age is a typical movie move and for me it is forgivable. You can do that in movies.
Overall, I think it’s secondary to Mean Girls, but it’s more dynamic than its predecessor. There is less tension here (it is almost not there at all).
Very funny character turned out a guy Anita named Chip. The scene where he has sex with Needy made me laugh wildly at his absurdity.
I don’t really understand why Jennifer is avenging all sorts of random guys for what happened, and not specifically her abusers.
There is no need to reconsider, despite the fact that the film is quite easy. As my sister put it about Jennifer's body, "I'll go." It will do if you are not too pretentious and do not want to see something more interesting and strange. On the topic of the toxic relationship of blonde and brunette, there is a more talented film Chicago (2002). At least not as trivial as it is here.
Jennifer and Nidi, friends since childhood, (one killer, the other mouse) gathered for a rock concert. But suddenly everything turned around, twisted and charming boys-rockers dragged Jennifer into the wilderness, where they accidentally made her a henchman of the devil.
A film about personalities. Mysticism is here too, but it rather complements and adorns the main plot. She develops some characters (Nidy and her boyfriend Chip), and others (like Jennifer) does not change, but on the contrary brings to light all the darkest. In order not to spoil, I will try to explain in general terms: if you watch Jennifer closely (how she behaves, communicates with her friend), you will see that she is an “empty person” and is essentially an “energy vampire” who feeds on the life force of others. But the main “food” is her friend Nidi. The whole essence of Jennifer is built on pride - a sense of superiority. And so, if the “vampire” loses a stable source of vitality, he will begin to decay and die.
Needi is a healthy and full-fledged person. From the very beginning, it can not be called closed and insecure, which is surprising for a person who has been friends with a “vampire” since childhood. She remained herself throughout the film, even in stressful situations. And in the end, I was able to say a conditional “no” and “enough” friendship with Jennifer, which benefited her.
Megan Fox fits in the role of a predator and a bitch, and Amanda Seifred is just beautiful.
Picture, lighting, work of the operator and soundtracks create a special atmosphere for the film and give it a special charm.

The first beauty in school - Jennifer (Magan Fox) announced the hunt for the... The boys from school! It's because a demon has invaded her. And no one can stop her. Except for my best friend, of course. Especially since Jennifer put her eye on the boyfriend of her girlfriend Nidi (Amanda Seifred). Of course, who wants to lose a guy and Nidi in this regard is no exception!
Karim Kusama’s black horror comedy, released in 2009, is something very similar to Natasha Henstridge’s The Individual. The message is the same: stunning beauty can not always be cute. Sometimes it happens that it can be bloodthirsty and deadly! That’s basically what Jennifer is attesting to, luring one guy after another into her traps who don’t think with the head on their shoulders (well, you know what I mean). And in principle, this film confirms the fact of the definition of "killer beauty", because in the case of "Jennifer's body" this definition works one hundred percent.
To be honest, the film was very medium and superficial. The plot, although filled with a certain meaning, is still largely empty. The picture goes a little more than an hour and a half, it seems to be filled with events, but at the same time it turns out to be empty and at the end of the viewing, the viewer may well ask the question: “Is this all?”
“Jennifer’s body” lacks the body of Jennifer, because if you think of the “Special”, you can remember the erotic scenes where you could actually verify the murderous beauty of Henstridge. In the case of this film, as in the case of Transformers, the maximum that Fox is capable of is to slightly unbutton the zipper so that the viewer sees the outlines of her chest. Okay, there's a girl kiss, but it's too little to see anything candid. And the kiss itself is clearly inferior in its eroticism to the kiss from "Cruel Games".
There's not enough blood here. A couple of deaths in an hour and a half - yes, any movie maniac will dissipate in the face of an obsessed beauty, because in a quiet town you can kill people with packs!
And Jennifer was only qualified to come to the most athletic, the most freak, and the most sensible guy. In the choice of victims, logic can be traced, but rather it is not. The demon kills just to eat. It does not aim to punish anyone, to avenge something, and this fact also deprives the film of a certain degree of slasher grace. Killing to devour... It's a "Venom" thing.
The storyline about the ball at school and the fees of Nidi is a clear allusion to "Carrie" with a certain amount of parody (especially the fees for the ball in an idyllic family consisting of mother and daughter). The storyline about the breakup is the nonsense of a stew mare, which could come to the mind of a screenwriter who has everything very bad with imagination. Breaking up with a guy to save him is more likely a death sentence for the guy himself, because heartbroken he can go on about the first oncoming skirt!! The storyline with D.K. Simmons is something. Why his hero was in the film is not clear. Just as it is not clear why it was to deprive his character of his hand and insert a prosthetic instead.
An allusion to Peter Pan? Hardly. And in theory, since the viewer saw a quite colorful character with an intricate prosthesis, he (the viewer) has the right to believe that this prosthesis will “shot” during the film. I don't know, Needy's gonna beat the dope out of Jennifer's body with this prosthetic! However, there is no such thing and this storyline does not work at all. The film is made out of pieces scattered against logical chains. So, the very beginning already pushes to the idea of survivors in a brew in a town called Hell's Cauldron, and also that Needi has a reason for having inhuman strength. The very beginning of the picture already gives one of the intrigues, which is why further viewing turns into a contemplation of a set of scenes devoid of connection.
The question remains: How could the critic Roger Ebert give this film three stars out of four? Really? Obviously, the film critic could get overexcited when watching Transformers and decided to please ex-Michaella with his stars. . .
But look at you. I do not impose my opinion on anyone.
Two Famous Actresses When They Could Play Schoolgirls
Needy’s titan has a best friend – Jennifer’s dissolute outcast. The friends were nice friends, but everything changes when a popular rock band from a big city comes to their provincial town, whose members turn out to be... devil worshippers.
Satanism in the film is presented in such a sham, if not teenage form, all possible cliches and cliches were collected. The film has a light humor, not funny, but funny, and surprisingly not repulsive, i.e. not toilet.
Although the film is shot as a teenage comedy horror movie, there is practically no nudity in it. The plot can not boast of simple and special non-standard solutions. The whole story begins at the end: we are shown the main character in a mental hospital, who tells her story... that is, no intrigue! But after all, teenage horror films usually attract the attention of the viewer with a non-standard ending ... or do I not understand something?
A few words about the actresses and their acting. Well, what to say, and Megan Fox and Amanda Seifred – each in its own role. They tried to make Amanda a “gray mouse”, “ugly duckling”, but, in my opinion, wearing round glasses and a sweater is not enough, although who knows. She always plays roles where you have to make a scared or surprised face. Well, Meghan does a good job of being a bitch and a libertine... but not in this movie. In addition to insulting hamstrings and mockery of Nidi, the actress no longer prescribed dialogue. Absolutely undisclosed, why was she the most popular girl in the school? Yes, even the bland as rice without spices series “Riverdale” coped better. That show, that movie, Carl! And Hollywood. The backstory of the heroines is not shown at all, but is it just a little bit, but more, much more should be shown. Next. Although the plot, genre and hint at sex, the chemistry between the actors is not found, the viewer will not see naked actresses either - the operator carefully selects the necessary angles so as not to illuminate the intimate parts of the girls' bodies. And moreover, there is nothing to look at in the film, since the simple plot, apparently, is designed for its age audience, the age of which is depicted by these two, now famous actresses.
Despite all the disadvantages, the film looks easy, but this is perhaps its only plus.

The film reflects the pop culture of the time. And the opposition to her rock culture. As a result of this confrontation, scandals and squabbles, they had sex. Enemy, stormy, they cut and bit each other, severing feathers and ripping piercings.
A film about the confrontation between vampires and werewolves. A film about simpletons and idiots, a film about mercantility and envy.
It would seem stupid dialogue, simple motives, but a double bottom is provided. From the film you will necessarily have heartburn, from excessive sweetness of gastritis, or even vomiting with blood.
Meghan is well-successful as a pantyhose who actually goes to church every day and prays on her lap, and she is called a whore because she sees bruises on her knees.
2009 is the year rock was buried in ruins. And the film is completely discredited, pop music won to later mix with rap and become a mulatto.
Do you remember Hole soloist Courtney Love? Do you remember the aggressiveness of Taylor Momsen?
By the way, the film used cool tracks, some of them went to my playlist.
My impression of the film is quite mixed. The film was described as horror and comedy. The horror story is pretty clear. But comedy breaks down on clumsy simple dialogue. But then we remember that this is a film about schoolchildren and this minus sharply turns into a plus. We were still in school, especially at that time, no one could speak properly.
The school of that time (late 00x) is the maintenance of a cool image of homophobic or homophobic, who are actually latents and tried same-sex sex. (Otherwise, how do they know it’s bad?)
This is both transphobia and the culture of trans-homophobia, which is promoted by unknown people. After all, it was from American films that we learned that being a homosexual is 'something negative'.
Jen's always innocent. She didn't like being jealous of the grey mouse. She didn't want her boyfriend at all, just a sporting interest. In general, the film describes a modern inquisitor who seemed to point a finger at a witch. She will eventually be executed. It will burn in the eyes of others. 'Yes, she was beautiful, it's weird, there must be a wormhole somewhere.'
An interesting film for young people and not only. I remember my high school days, the school queen, gay people who wanted to be straight, straight people who wanted to be gay and everything.
No sooner had the second “Transformers” died out than Megan Fox took her charisma ... a funny role in comedy horror. Fox does not know how to play, but her puppet appearance chooses the roles. This project is a passing, ordinary movie about evil spirits and setting priorities with an open finale.
According to the classic, we are met by two girlfriends – one sexy girl who wants to try many men and knows about the attitude of the opposite sex to her, and the second Amanda Seifred. Yes, all right, it's 2009 - all the laurels reap the current passion Machine Gun Kelly. The film is as ridiculous as possible, and therefore funny, reduces two opposites, emphasizing childhood and long friendship. Scrimmers in the protracted exposition should not wait until the film brings friends to a rock concert.
The event is the impetus of the whole picture. Here we and greed, and greed, and profit, only all this was seasoned with a tragic catastrophe that turned everything around. It's all just shown, in the spirit of the last decade. The film does not claim to be the best thriller or horror, it exploits the image of Meghan. The irony of the plot lies in the name of the town - the Devil's Cauldron. Well, you get it. The opening credits tell you a little bit about why the title is, but you're missing it.
The beginning of the tape already showed what will happen to Amanda, and the whole film after – flashback, the story told by the heroine. The picture is intriguing with the transformation of Megan. Before us is a mystery that can not yet fill the chronological gap of the plot. Changing the main character allows you to evaluate Amanda. In this vein, the hero of the second plan is well spelled out, that is, we know what will happen to her. Now we know with our own eyes how she got there. The plot mocks itself, promoting the image of sexualizing Meghan to perform a mystical rite. The evil was shown to us, but the mystery is how it happened.
In the course of mysticism and murder (for some reason only the guys, although it was not specified anywhere that men should suffer, it is clear that for eroticism the picture and for Megan, but still) begin to transform the relationship of the main friends. The picture has potential, you can see the dynamics of Seifred, because everything is already clear about Meghan. Surprising discovery, a secret that both provokes the public and explains the subsequent location of Amanda. That is, you look at a typical film with a predictable ending, and in the middle of the plot the character suddenly reveals all the cards.
Funny in such films of the 2000s, the presence of a certain trend, fashion. Punk rock, appropriate clothing, human behavior. Whichever genre you take, we have a demonstration of the common culture of the country. The songs of the key rock band in the film “Low Shoulder” conveyed the excitement of the genre, Goths and emo acted as something stand out (now the youth do not even hear about them), and the impending threat of the devil over the town only instilled more mysticism. In the end, it is a picture of its time. Nicely surprised by the ending before the credits, which you did not even count on. In general, we have the appearance of evil in the form of a doll.
': Well, that means we're a little bit alike. I am not a hypocrite and I do not judge people by appearance.39 Meanwhile, Amanda Seyfried is an actress, model.
Maybe watching this movie for one song at the end of the credits would be a little reckless, but that’s why I wanted to see it in the first place. Then a little more reasons accumulated, and postpone viewing ' Jennifer's body' it did not come out. There's a feeling he's a little ahead of time. Maybe it's just me.
Megan Fox, in human terms, is burning. It is impossible not to remember her in this role, it is simply impossible. The director also burns and, judging by the titles of some other films, likes to do it. The final battle, if you can call it that, I want to quote:
Character 1, threateningly: You know what this is? This is a paper knife.
Character 2, wounded: Did you buy guns at the stationery store? Hell, I want you to die.
However, such overt trolling is not the main mood. At the same time, it is impossible to say that this is a parody of a typical teenage horror movie, because it is too similar to a teenage horror movie, you just need to slow down the degree in a couple of frames.
Most of the negative criticism going in the direction of the film is untenable, if only because it is built on the type ' f, girls are obscene jokes, f, how can you', and after PMS someone will be tormented by nightmares, and it’s not even funny, but naked bodies??? I mean, how long has our cynical world become so sensitive to obscenity and naked female bodies? The authors took a slippery slope, making the movie they wanted to make. We aimed at a titanic large audience, gathered the attention of castes and chose one of the most popular topics. But both indie rockers and the women who make bold movies all serve Satan. The viewer's refusal was predictable.
Not to the benefit of the fact that not everyone likes and appreciates the ironic and subtle thrash atmosphere. Here it was too subtle and not so obvious, which misleads the viewer, who even after the scenes with the fire will continue to wait for something habitually erotic and sanely pathetic. It will take another five years to catch the time when beautiful garbage will enter the mainstream. And I mainly mean that there are no disgusting cadres here at all, even if they were agreed in advance. The eye is happy. If the movie came out now, chances are most would have been more supportive.
Of the undoubted advantages - a stylish light horror story with original humor and a little bit of atmosphere for fans of emo pop rock and pop punk zero, who hide behind a beautiful gloss their souls of fans of horror and black.
Of the minuses, the topic is not open. (It's a joke)
As a fan of the band, whose song plays at the end of the credits, I would put the film 11 and status & #39; must-see credits too, there are interesting white letters on a black background' But I'm kind of on the verge, and on the one hand, something was still inaccessible, on the other hand, there were not enough monsters, as well as senseless bloody battles and torn limbs in much larger numbers, you know. Although they may not even be needed here, but it is a matter of habit. Still worth watching. This story is unique.
Comedy horror is one of the most difficult genres, since it is necessary not only to invent (and most importantly - to implement) an interesting plot based on the horror component, but also competently dilute all this matter with good humor so that the film skillfully balances between the two genres. Another thing is to make a black comedy and forget about horror. In 2009, mainstream Hollywood craftsmen decided to release (as they themselves positioned it) it is a comedy horror - they say, there will be humor, there will be various elements of horrors such as blood, rituals and everything else. Honestly, I’m on the fingers of a broken arm and I’m not sure I’ll count Hollywood’s successful attempts to do something like that. In an independent movie, yes, please. Plus, the name of the director is clearly not from the Tarantine party, so let’s see what happened here.
So, we have comedy horror Karin Kusama ' Jennifer'. Yes, the movie came out 10 years ago, but I confess I only got to it now. Honestly, I didn’t even want to watch, and now it suddenly struck me to appreciate what was filmed out of horrors in the 21st century. Let’s not delay and move on to the story.
The film is shown on behalf of Needi, played by Amanda Seifred. She has best friend Jennifer performed by Megan Fox - allegedly the most desirable and attractive high school girl. Jennifer has a constant craving for dubious adventures, so one evening, she invites Nidi to a rural club to listen to an indie rock band performing there. A fire breaks out and people burn alive, but the girls and the group survive. The band takes Jennifer with them because they think she’s a virgin (what?), and Needi returns to his house to talk nicely on the phone with the guy. What was her surprise when at night Jennifer returns to her house covered in blood and begins to puke something black on the floor.
In short, before us a real teenage horror - all these indie rock bands, Fox and Cyfred, playing schoolgirls, posters Fall Out Boy on the walls and other nuances clearly hint to us that the target audience of the film - the same teenagers who will cheerfully watch this film under a liter of beer and salty popcorn. And in vain, because this is what the cinema limited itself, but about everything in order.
To begin with, the film loses its intrigue from the very beginning, as the result of all actions is shown at the very beginning. Like, look what happened, and now I'm going to tell you how it happened. Incredibly stupid move, because well, you already know what will happen at the end - the main plot twist was revealed, and the rest is read at the moment when Fox begins to puke for the first time.
A word about Jennifer, by the way. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t like this character in the first few minutes of the movie. Writers either suffered from a shortage of creative ideas, or something else - but Jennifer was clearly conceived as a cool high school girl with her signature chips and phrases. Like ' not like all ' for this (well, plus promiscuity) she became the most popular in school. However, she can not give anything really witty, since the writers simply did not try. I think I could have squeezed more out of this character, to be honest.
As a comedy horror movie, too, in my opinion, did not take place - there is not a single funny or funny moment. Allegedly ' prickly' Jennifer's phrases in bloody moments turn the film not into a comedy, but into a farce, in the worst sense of the word. Especially towards the end, where there's some nonsense going on. Don’t get me wrong – anyone who reads me knows that I often give high marks to movies where all sorts of game happens, especially if it’s a comedy horror. But here it simply failed - it is clear that they tried, but in the end still minus.
From this follows another problem of the film - it is very likable for a major film distribution. Maybe it was originally conceived as a completely crazy movie about the living dead, but the producers of the XX century Fox decided to do things differently. The result is an incredibly slick and framed Hollywood gum, which has been restricted from all sides, and it makes a couple of death moves at the end. Just one question - Edgar Wright's in 'Zombie named Sean' managed to give everything as it should. From a slightly different steppe - Robert Rodriguez and his ' Planet of Fear'. Well, I'm not talking about the complete madness of Lloyd Kaufman in 'The attack of chicken zombies', because the old man has no limits at all, he is his own producer and distributor. But in this film something went like this - the film is tossed between complete madness and banal black comedy. Whose fault are the writers or the producers? What difference does it make if we, as viewers, see such a result?
As a result, a typical Hollywood craft for teenagers, attracting only the performers of the main roles. And so everything according to the old pattern - stupid jokes, as much vulgarity as possible from the main character (which in some places takes quantity, not quality), well, allegedly non-standard plot. Add to this all the cliché in the spirit of a completely unnatural final denouement - you get ' Jennifer'. One thing I can say for myself is that the movie is not boring. But still look at your fear and risk. Especially if the horror genre is close to you. If not - feel free to buy what you are watching the film and include - the film is stupid, but cheerful and can brighten up your evening.
Thank you for your attention
The reasons why I watched the film: Megan Fox, erotic orientation, horror genre, and negative reviews. I wonder if the movie is really as bad as it gets. I waited for disappointment, but I was satisfied.
Plot. If you look closely, you can understand why Jennifer became a devilish creature. The lesson is not to play with the dark forces, especially when you are new. The film has flashbacks, but they are inserted harmoniously and help the development of the plot.
Genre. It's a mix of horror and comedy. The genre is quite complex to implement and understand, but quite interesting. For those who want to see 'Pure' a horror movie is a disappointment. There are no nefarious details of cannibalism, creepy moments are given innuendo. The viewer gets to think of such things himself.
The same hints are present in the erotic orientation. There are a lot of jokes on this subject, there are candid scenes. But everything remains on the boundary. Balancing on the edge. The viewer with a good imagination will be satisfied.
Playing actors is quite natural. If there is a maniac in town, the guys will shy away from any suspicious shadow, but not from the most beautiful classmate. As for Amanda Seyfried and her composure during a meeting with Jennifer, people in her situation will come up with logical explanations: drugs, rape shock, and will try to stay calm. They will not hit their best friend in the head with a stool and shouting ' Demons' running through the night forest.
As a result, the film may not have become a masterpiece, but it turned out quite normal.

Oh, these youth horror stories, why are they almost always comedies? It's pretty stupid.
One fine evening of the weekend, the eye fell on this work of a foreign “disposable” conveyor. Immediately it was clear that not a masterpiece and not even an average. Expected vulgar kinzo with a youth bias, did not guess.
The main "star" of the picture is Megan Fox, the "body" on which a good part of fans of obnoxious rock girls drool. Is it because she's a cool actress? No, at least not here... It is not a simple film called ", forgot to simply add " without head". Who's she in the movie? Stupid swiveltail whose brain from birth was between the legs, and nature gave beauty, plus the “best” girlfriend is a perfect background for contrast.
In short, a typical school couple "friends forever."
It seems that the movie as a benefit Fox, but no ... Amanda Seyfried on the head beats Fox. Throughout the film, you will see how Needi turns from an ugly duckling to Boy Baba. This is quite funny, and the actress is fat plus.
The story, if you can call it that... All the final intrigue of the picture merges in the first 5 minutes, it seems not unfounded, but a great mind is not needed to understand “who, what, and how, and where”. The fire scene in the bar throws you the first batch of stupidity (wild), and then like a rolled-up.
Do not forget that this is also a horror film, should scare us, however, you will only laugh or feel disgust. Eruption of black slurry in the process of cleansing the stomach is so scary. Or eating the insides of a small, cute deer.
The expected vulgarity in the film is not really. The main "body" scratches left and right about its depravity, but beyond words does not go.
The lesbian theme is clearly visible. Thanks for not being gay! What is that for? The male sex should see the “stunning Fox”, then understand that she “wants” her girlfriend and certainly wish to see it?
Over. Delusional and stupid horror story that wanted to go out on the popularity of one person.
In Hollywood, it is not very often a woman gets the title roles in iconic films, from which the feminism movement is gradually gaining menacing shape. Unable to endure male hegemony in all spheres of life, angry at the whole world and universal injustice, the representatives of the weaker sex, and failed to realize their hidden potential, make near-insane attempts to draw attention to themselves and finally deal with the evil patriarchate, in the place of which it is necessary to hoist no less dubious in social and cultural terms matriarchy. Of course, the number of adequately thinking average Americans is still radicalized segments of the population, but the women’s league sometimes needs to be sacrificed, so that it does not raise unnecessary social unrest and does not cause economic collisions caused by sabotage of the work process. The problems of the primacy of men and women stretches back to the distant past, and it is not surprising that Hollywood sometimes gives up under the onslaught of steely voices demanding to present a worthy movie to the audience, with shifted sex characteristics in the column of the main creators. And just the product of the endless confrontation between men and women can be safely considered a mystical slasher “Jennifer’s Body”, placed in the center of events two attractive girls, shot confident home and written by her no less ambitious colleague. Only overly active representatives of the feminist movement for some reason forgot that sexual characteristics have nothing to do with talent, and if the director and screenwriter are wrong with this, then cinema will receive its share of crushing criticism under any circumstance.
So, the plot of “Jennifer’s Body” takes place in one of the expressionless provincial towns, abandoned somewhere in America. The main heroine of the story is a modest honorary student Needi (Amanda Seifred), who, despite her downtrodden appearance and emphasized ordinary appearance, somehow managed to have a pretty guy (Johnny Simmons), who is able to restrain his natural needs and withstand as much time as necessary until the expected intimacy. As you would expect from the cute tycoon Nidi, in her friends there is an exceptional beauty Jennifer (Megan Fox), the dream of all the guys around. Despite the external specifics of Nidi, Jennifer tries to maintain a strong relationship with her, because, first of all, the girls are familiar from an early age and used to share secrets with each other. And secondly, against the background of the "gray mouse" Needy dazzling beauty Jen looks many times more attractive, from which no competitor can appear on her horizon a priori. However, in the cloudless life of Jennifer, there are very discouraging events that change the girl forever. Having become a victim of inadequately tuned members of a visiting rock band, the most desirable beauty of the city turns into an angry demon, prowling in search of fresh blood. For Jennifer, it no longer matters who is her friend and who is her enemy. But most of all, she hates the male race, which has changed her beyond recognition. And to stop such a nightmare of the underworld itself, imprisoned in the body of a high school girl, can only Nidi, who discovered the power to commit at least one significant act in her life.
Getting to work on “Jennifer’s Body”, director Karin Kazuma (winner of the Kagg Film Festival) and screenwriter Diablo Cody (winner of the “Oscar”) most likely kept in mind only the ideas of feminism, since nothing else their picture was noted. Having come up with a frankly secondary, absolutely nothing stands out against the background of a churned horror story, the creators thereby erected an arc of pretentiousness around themselves, designed to draw the attention of the public to the film, in which all key positions are occupied by women, and men only had to hone the background, which, as usual, few people pay attention to. There is no doubt that Kasuma and Cody at one time proved that they are not without an original creative vision, in their projects were considered complex social issues that do not require hasty answers, but their desire to make women's films contrary to common sense and detailed study of dramaturgy gave themselves to feel far from the best consequences. “Jennifer’s Body” received far from the largest budget in the amount of $ 16 million, but could not recoup itself at the global box office. The noise raised around the features of the filming process, for the most part, scared men away, and the girls apparently did not want to go without their soul mates in the movie. And had it not been for feminist activists in the dark halls of cinemas, it is likely that Jenniffer’s Body would have been the biggest box office failure in modern horror history.
The main interest of the public around the film Kasuma and Cody was mainly due to the reputation of Megan Fox, at one point turned into the most desirable young actress, who topped the list of sex queens of Hollywood. Having got everything she needed from the fame of “Transformers”, Fox quarreled with director Michael Bay, leaving his franchise without a drop of regret, and “Jennifer’s Body” was supposed to be the first attempt for the actress to test the margin of fame and attractiveness. Advertising campaign horror entirely focused on the image of Fox, and the Internet as if accidentally leaked photos of naked Megan, coming out during the filming process of their lake. But, unfortunately, the producers and Fox herself miscalculated their own strength, since in addition to the attractive feminine forms of the actress and her stable presence on the pages of glossy magazines, it was necessary to properly work on the story of her heroine. And instead, we got a set of schematic and predictable, which is why no one really cared about what happened to Jennifer and how to stop her now.
The game of Amanda Seifred, a pretty young girl who had to go on a feat and let makeup artists average her memorable appearance, will partly save the situation. Of course, as in the case of the heroine Megan Fox, Nidi performed by Seifred looks template, but in her image there are sharp emotional notes. Playing the most ordinary girl, of which there are millions, Seifred was able to convey her hopes and experiences, showed the everyday life of her heroine and revealed the nuances of her relationship with her beloved guy. There is nothing extraordinary about this, and yet Seifred managed to bring life and emotions to where the preserved beauty of Megan Fox, nurtured on the ideas of feminism, continues to exclude logic and adequacy from everything she touches, reigns supreme. Speaking about the male characters of the film, they became a victim of the preconceived attitude of the creators and did not notice anything special. Johnny Simmons only helped Amanda Seifred to reveal his Nidi from the romantic side, and a short appearance in the frame of Chris Pratt will please only his fans of the era of comedy sitcoms.
In the end, I want to say that “Jennifer’s Body” could not please its creators, since an irreparable mistake initially crept into the formula of the picture. Instead of filming a strong genre product, Kasuma and Cody became victims of short-sightedness, which brought only disappointment.

What I can say about Jennifer’s Body... the first thing that comes to my mind is that this film, in my opinion, is better than the film “Juno” by the same screenwriter Diablo Cody, although the latter won an Oscar.
The film is a mixture of thriller with some shades of irony. Everything that happens in the film is so funny and ridiculous, people behave because they do not behave in such situations, such situations do not happen. It's all taken with a bit of sarcasm, so I would say.
It may seem that the plot of the film is an ordinary, stupid teenage horror movie... well, I don’t know... I didn’t see horror there, I didn’t see anything stupid either – I saw only the typical friendship of girls, typical hero-boys, stupid musicians to the point of horror (that, by the way, and horrors leak out)... well, I don’t know... the film hooked me... Maybe Jennifer, maybe Amanda Seyfred, maybe a plot, maybe a weird twist from the movie, but I liked it.
Initially, I didn’t want to watch this movie because I don’t like stories about “devil seducers.” But the film was quite good, if you do not expect a masterpiece from him.
The actors are well-chosen. Yes, Meghan doesn’t have any talent, but in essence, her role here was reduced to smiles and sex. Her falsehood, a kind of bad girl, is not knocked out or annoying. Although the dramatic moment with the band made me laugh. I didn’t really understand the episode, but if it was meant to be absurd (I’m talking about her behavior, not the guys), then fine.
The music in the movie is great. After watching, I wanted to listen again.
The plot itself is not genius, greatly hypertrophied, but there is charm in this. Jennifer is a fake who didn’t have good qualities before the incident. She doesn't develop as a character at all, she doesn't have a soul, but Needi looks better against her background. Its growth is already obvious, but in contrast it works even better.
This movie is definitely not for everyone. There's no suspense or comedy, it's just a wild mix. The movie is stupid, but it's nice to watch.
Very unusual start. The action begins in a psychiatric hospital, which is rarely seen. Johnny Simmons is a familiar face. I’ve seen him in movies like Who to Sleep With?! (2013), It's Good to Be Quiet (2012), Macho and the Botan (2012), Scott Pilgrim vs. All (2010). The series is elementary. He really doesn't care. Even in this film, he remained unfazed. How old is he, anyway? Megan Fox's eyes are just amazing. I would look at them forever - the color is fascinating. The movie is worth watching because of them.
There's a bit of melodrama, which I really liked, because I'm a fan of all genres. From the title of the film, it was clear that the heroine would die. Then I realized that the film genre is a black comedy. The music and atmosphere of the film were delighted. I would even like to find the soundtrack for the film. The film itself is very bright, well shot.
Let's talk about heroes. Jennifer is an arrogant student with God Syndrome. This conclusion can be made by her manner of speaking and gait. Her friend Midi's union pleased. Chip, Midi's boyfriend is the exact opposite of Jennifer. He clearly describes himself - not hypocritical, not narcissistic. Great friend. The writers thought it through well. The plot unfolds gradually. The pitch was good. The story itself is very, very interesting. Of course, there's a minus. The downside is that in the end, everything is very, very similar to zombie movies. But some of you, of course, guessed by the name. There is also a drama - Midi is very pronounced reliving all the events that happened at school - they put pressure on her vulnerable soul. Midi realizes that her friendship was a mistake and Jennifer is a regular bitch. The subject of witches, of course, primitive, but it did not make me stop watching.
The costumes of this film are a big drawback. Although the film is relatively new, Midi’s clothes and her glasses are from the past. It's just a replay. I could not look at Midi without laughing.
P.S. The big shot of their kiss is just a masterpiece! The ending was even dramatic - I didn't expect it.
Over. The movie was interesting to watch. Worth his hour and a half.
I don’t know what inspired me to watch this movie. I didn’t read reviews on it, rather I wanted to see because of the participation of Megan Fox and Amanda Seyfried (the films in which they played are quite watchable, there are even interesting pictures). However, I forgot that the participation in a film of good actors does not always indicate its good quality.
The film tells the story of Jennifer. From the announcement we read about how the most popular girl in school (as befits in all American youth films – cheerleader girl) is killed by guys from the beginning musical group, and she, becoming a demon in the guise of a man, begins to take revenge on all the boys of the school, also killing them.
But the odd thing is, she doesn't take revenge on her killers. In general, the film is full of such “oddities” and not to create a special atmosphere or some hidden message – it seems that the writer simply did not think through many moments. Sometimes the sequence of actions is so illogical that the thought comes to mind: did not write the script people sitting in different rooms and even on different floors?
At the very beginning, when a bloody Jennifer appears in the frame, I had hope, an expectation of tragedy and seriousness in action, thoughtfulness. According to these initial shots, the film seemed to promise a mystical story in the horror genre, however, in the end it slid to the level of a teenage one-time film - mass garbage.
I bet + for more or less tolerable soundtracks, and in general
It's been a long time since I've had such anguish watching a movie. I want to say thank you for this service to Karin Kasuma’s film Jennifer’s Body, or in another way, How a great idea can be turned into real chaos, with elements of delirium. Indeed, the film attracts and the idea, and at the same time bribes a good cast, but in fact this pancake is a huge lump.
In a small town called the wonderful name "Hell's Cauldron" was always usual and calm. It was not uncommon to have drunks or any noisy parties, but the town coped with it. Needy, one of the residents of Hell’s Cauldron, was still a schoolgirl and did nothing criminal, but her world is dramatically turned upside down when her best friend Jennifer goes to a rock band concert (she liked the soloist there). At first, everything goes peaceful and standard, but already at the time of the performance, the bar lights up and the friends miraculously manage to get out alive. Needy and Jen were already on their way home when the lead singer drags her into his car and hides, along with his band, in an unknown direction. Coming home, Nidi feels relaxed and protected until Jennifer bursts into the house in bloody clothes and with strange behavior, and the next day in the town there is a new murder.
The director of the film was Karin Kusama and she worked at her post not bad, doing everything that depends on her - to shoot the script. As a director, she did everything possible to keep the film afloat, thanks to the impressions and unusual idea, but the film turned out so bad, boring and raw that the impressions of the film gave me only boredom and disappointment. No need to blame the director, no, she was good and tried to save the film, but such a stupid script, focusing on young people and teenagers, can scare his idiocy just a normal person. The script wrote that strange, the winner of the “Oscar” for the best screenplay Diablo Cody, and it seems that she did not particularly strain when she wrote it, because the script is written in haste, and from such stupidity occurring in the film and at all I want to wonder where Cody got the “Oscar”. And it’s not that the script includes a favorite phrase, “Are you okay?” after this or that extreme and difficult situation, but more bizarre actions and dialogue. Example: When Needi talks to her boyfriend on the phone, he asks, “Do you want me to come?” I don’t know, I guess. – How do you understand that? Another example is the scene of the first meeting “strange” Jennifer and Needy, when Jen puked and her girlfriend and gender some black shit and also burns over it. Beyond that, the film seems counterintuitive due to a host of questions, including why didn't Jennifer start her "lunch" with a rock band? The ending is so stupid that you want to tear up and throw everything in a row (do demons look like zombies?). The script is full of rubbish, full of stupid dialogues and scenes that cause only boredom and sleep even in people suffering from insomnia, the characters are poorly prescribed, except for the main character, so they definitely do not deserve sympathy. The idea itself is more or less interesting, but in Cody’s script it looks dirty and disgusting. Not bad cameraman M. David Mullen, immersing the viewer in a gloomy atmosphere, thanks to the game of colors (note that even in the day scenes, a visible slightly foggy color play) gives the film at least something good - style and gloomy picture. The music in the film is also good and this applies not only to the compositions of Stephen Barton and Theodore Shapiro, but also to the music mainly - this is the main song of the rock band Low Shoulder called "Through The Trees", and even Econ's composition "I wanna love you!" Simply put, the soundtrack of the film is very glorious and the music will appeal to many.
In many ways, the success was accompanied not only by the well-known status of the director or screenwriter, but also by the participation of very successful and famous actors, who, once again, spent most of the entire budget of the film (and the budget of the film is not small – as much as $ 16 million). Perfectly played the role of a schoolgirl - crazies Amanda Seifred (although such roles do not go very well for her), and Megan Fox will easily put all the guys down with her demonic beauty. In addition to the two beauties, the famous J.K. Simmons, Chris Pratt, Adam Brody, Kyle Gallner play here, but they here, as they say, “on the backup” – appear extremely rarely in one or two episodes two or three minutes long and disappear (Gallner will appear for 5 minutes in the “date” scene). The cast is rich and good, but in this film it is stupid - all the attention is paid to the duet of white and black, light and shadow, in the faces of Seyfred and Fox, so the others can only resign themselves to this and play their two or three minutes and go to collect the fee.
The film was nominated for “Golden Raspberry” in the category “Worst Female Role” and he nominated Megan Fox herself, which is quite strange, but the failure bypassed the actress side, for that the teenagers liked the film and the film was nominated for two awards from the channel “MTV” in the categories “Best Scare” (thanks to the efforts of Amanda Seifred, the film was able to deservedly get this prize) and “Madest episode”.
Total:
Alas, “Jennifer’s Body” did not live up to my expectations – instead of a cold-blooded thriller, the film turns into some kind of dirty comedy or parody, leaving behind only disappointment. After watching the film in the middle, I prayed to all the gods that this film would end quickly, because I wanted to quickly turn it off and throw it in the dump, where such films belong. It is strange to realize that in the film I liked not the work of the director or screenwriter, but the work of the operators and composers who created a good basis for the film - the atmosphere necessary for the film, but because of this scenario everything collapsed like a house of cards. Oh yes, I will not forget to praise the actors, their efforts should also somehow be rewarded. Who should watch this movie? Of course, those who like this movie and for whom this movie was made - for young people and teenagers, as well as recommended for viewing loyal fans of any of the cast. The rest of the film is just for you.
A former schoolgirl, and now either a crazy prisoner, or a criminally talented crazy Nidi for outstanding services to the guard's fingal, is locked in a solitary confinement for especially gifted people, where she tells a story in the spirit of the horror stories of the tavetrash channel itself, making the listener increasingly doubt the adequacy of her traveled hypostases. It turns out that once Needy was a cute spectacle nerd, while managing to make friends with the hottest thing in Jennifer’s school, and was not under the constant threat of being thrown tampons in the general soul, as her less fortunate sisters were once lucky. Needy, to the best of his strength and capabilities, even had something, but the guy, and despite the speaking name, the heroine did not need anything. As rare as the unsexy cheerleader, the school happiness of the gray mouse lasted until Jennifer dragged the BFF-ku (best friend forever-ku) to a rock concert, where, as if by the trick of a magic bar grandmother at the Russian arrival, she was subjected to the corrupting influence of the satanic rite and turned into an eternal young, eternal hungry succubus And now the friends who are gradually becoming former are on opposite sides of the assembly hall - after all, who can stop the fresh meat from getting out of the school girl who has reads the "marshite" .
Once upon a time there were blessed times in the country of Kinematograstan. Then, for example, it was not yet fashionable to mention Miley Cyrus in the reviews of the European art house, to mix in one cultural field the tightly shot ass of Nikki Minaj and Kierkegaard's anngst, and the mention of Lena Headey in a random reference had no sersemes. Simply put, postmodernism has not yet entered the glorious time of its popsovnost and remained the lot of those great thinkers who like to talk hard about the simple, pull an owl on the globe or stare dried ox on the atlas, as you will notice. The parody remained a parody - a hodgepodge of published jokes, a couple of African-Americans and Leslie Nielsen, that is, it resembled our "Old songs about the main thing" minus Leslie Nielsen, a couple of African-Americans and released jokes. But this #stability came to an end – a kind of Jennifer’s body for the semi-mainstream was the fantasy of a former stripper, retrained as screenwriter Diablo Cody, who after the success of “Juno” realized that it was time to launch another, less Mamblecore, but more provocative film about high school students.
Diablo and here leads the story on behalf of a sarcastic loser in the generally accepted sense for a given society, but gives it an excessive, surreal color. The main symbol with the prefix is not just sex, but hypertrach, acquires a face, and, most importantly, the forms of Megan Fox, famous for the entire second half of the 2000s. Let her not have the chance to save the world in the desert, dressed in washed "Weasels". White magic is transformed pants, but her playfully bitten lower lip will make posthumous post-punk dance more than one inner goddess of innocently ruined youngsters of the Devil's Cauldron. Perhaps this choice of the actress for the main role makes it clear with frightening obviousness how self-ironic in its essence, “Jennifer’s body”, because Megan was not required to even play here, but only to kiss the right character to death at the right time, suffering in breaks from contamination of their own hair. The rock band gaining popularity according to the canons of Gothic Gogol and all the template characters of the stronger sex, unable to resist the raging libido, only confirm the deliberate schematic nature of the plot of the picture, necessary to achieve the effect of sociotyping. By the way, after Cody, this technique will be successfully picked up by, for example, Ryan Murphy in the TV series “Glee” and “American Horror Story”, setting a fashion for militant filmgolics – “Help Dasha the tracker find a cleverly hidden reference in plain sight.”
At the same time, it cannot be said that behind the deliberately exaggerated form, Cody did not give the other almost nameless creators (Karin Kusama, anyone?!) any content. Already many years before “It”, sex for teenagers turns out to be a deadly weapon not only for ants in pants, but also a superimage for the danger of everything forbidden in the psycho-physiological sense – it is not for nothing that one of the first murders here occurs in the entourage of the forest bratva borrowed from Trier. Cody boldly speaks out on the topic of consumer attitude to a woman, a parallel with the help of the editor another murderous bed scene and a five-minute sex sprint of another heroine, making it clear that only an unscrupulous taker can make a monster of a giver. Therefore, due to the simple-minded ambiguity of all scenario components, and the local lesbian petting in fact can be one of the possible reasons and logical results of female friendship in principle or just a couple of minutes for a promotional campaign under the laws of the Black Swan (well, guys, Karin Kusama, anyone?!). The main thing after watching is to choose a passion for the night wisely, because by the morning it can be not just a real succubus, but a real succubus.
From the very first minutes, a simple truth was revealed to me: the film clearly does not abound in logic. She didn't even smell there.
It so happened that Diablo Cody’s prerogative to write such scenarios, putting “deep” meaning into them, but in fact it turns out that the meaning is precisely absent.
Megan Fox, who played Jennifer (which I didn’t see as such) was completely unconvincing. Rather, it seemed that the actress was more concerned with her face in the frame than the emotions of her character. Since even after the “transformation” of her character into a mystical creature, the actress’s play did not change at all, as if nothing had happened. This gave the impression that in the future she acted under the slogan: “Yes, everything is fine.”
Amanda Seifred as Needy, frankly, was no better. Her stupid look on her face, like saying, Why? Is anything going on? It was annoying. Even when her bloody friend came to her house, the heroine did not have a question: What happened? Does she need help? The next day, she only said that Jennifer was acting strangely.
Summing up, I want to say that the film is clearly designed for a certain audience. Maybe fans of the actresses who played the main roles will like this movie, although I strongly doubt it, for me it was a real torture and wasted time. The atmosphere that reigned in the film can be described as follows: the question constantly surfaced whether to laugh, or to be frightened. In fact, neither of these things happened. And, yes, it can not be called a horror, rather a parody of a horror film.
Trouble doesn’t come alone, but it won’t get worse, right?
Teenage horror movies. Genre, which got even stronger than teenage comedies, as people who make films in this genre very poorly imagine, and what should be such a horror story and because they add as much sex as possible, stereotypical and therefore not sympathetic characters, music that is popular here and now, and with it humor, mostly black, which turns what is happening not in the "Evil dead" and not in "Homicide Holidays", but in farce. And our guest today took the worst that can only be in teenage horror films and brought all this to the absolute, which is why already in the thirtieth minute of the picture you want to sew a Voodoo doll depicting the director, and at the same time the screenwriter, and do something terrible with it. The name of this movie freak is “Jennifer’s body” and he is in front of you.
The story that will be told in this film takes place in a quiet provincial town with a life-affirming name - the Devil's Cauldron. It got its name due to the huge underwater funnel, which is unknown where it leads and whether it leads at all. It sounds interesting, but this is interesting to me, but tourists go to the Devil's Cauldron, something is not in a hurry, and all sorts of scientists, and crazy people poked a stick in this miracle of nature, and then quietly left. Strange all this, but in the film so there will be enough oddities, so I will not focus on such a “little thing”.
The heroes of our history are two girls who from an early age were known as best friends. The first is whose name, and with it other parts of the body adorn the poster – Jennifer. So, Megan Fox is the leader of the school support group due to the fact that she is the most beautiful woman in the school. Please note that Jennifer is not a stunning beauty from one look at which the heart begins to beat more often, and blood rushes to the brain, and not only to the brain, just all the other girls that will be shown in this film are terrible, and therefore the heroine of Megan Fox, which in any other film you do not look twice, is so popular. Naturally, Jennifer dresses like, sorry for my French, a whore, and in fact she is, since she only slept with whom, except that the teacher, alone for the whole school, deprived of her attention. Looks like cripples aren't her type, okay? And in order to increase her self-esteem, Jennifer is friends with a gray mouse Nidi, which in every possible way belittles in the eyes of others. What about Amanda Seyfried? And she is absolutely unprepared for adulthood, with whom almost no one communicates and who catches every word of her “experienced” friend. In another situation, Nidi could arouse sympathy and desire to sympathize with the girl used by her best friend, boyfriend, and also a Goth friend, but not in this film, since the heroine of Amanda Seyfried is not a smart, resourceful and cute girl, she is a character of a dummy who only knows what to run around and wave her arms and who would be killed in the first half hour of the picture.
So, we met the city, with the heroines, too, what is left? Oh, yeah, history. Well, once Jennifer and Needy went to the bar to hang out, or rather the heroine Megan Fox was going to hang out, and Amanda Seyfed? She's for the campaign. And it just so happened that there was a fire in the bar and people died. What? No, Jennifer and Needy didn't die in that fire, although it would have been better for everyone. The heroines survived and they didn’t care so much about people running out of the bar that Jennifer decided to go with rock singers to have fun, and Nidi? And Needy's the usual. And it just so happened that rock musicians ritually killed Jennifer and threw into the same underwater sinkhole. Children, never get in a van with strangers and strangers, they may be Satanists. And everything would be fine, but Jennifer does not die, or rather dies, but immediately returns with a demon inside. A hungry demon who wants fresh meat, naturally human. What about Nidi? And Needi as usual.
Here is a story that is sewn together with white threads and tells about two uninteresting heroines who have no aspirations, no dreams, no values in life, but only stupidity in their head, and lust in ... another place. The behavior of the other heroes is not much better, since in the city, a small provincial town, a killer maniac appeared that brutally kills teenagers, but no one cares about it, except that they will gather for a funeral and ... and that’s it? I wonder what the characters of "The Scream" or "The Faculty" would say to that, huh? And well, if the actors, at least the main ones, played normally, so no – tortured emotions, monotonous blubber and eyes in which a complete misunderstanding of what is happening frozen, that’s what you can expect from this film, which goes a little more than a hundred minutes. Does not save what is happening and his genre, which implies fear, but not a single tense scene in the picture was not noticed, there were no “boo-effects” or rather they were, a couple of times during the film, but just at the moment when you expect them, and therefore smeared in ketchup heroine Megan Fox, which “suddenly” appears next to this or that hero causes only yawning. Humor in the film is also too exaggerated and can cause laughter except for those people who enjoy watching the performances of Petrosyan, “Anshlagovtsy” and others. And as for the erotic component, after all, a teenage horror story, and there without it anywhere, then such scenes in the film will be enough, but only here the teenage heroes do not experience any feelings for their, kham, partners, while the screenwriter comes up with one scene of an erotic nature after another, and the director shouts - "More!" More! And so you wonder, and the creators did not confuse the genre of the picture? Maybe they should have made an adult movie, huh? Music? What about the music? Well, it is here, there is a lot of it and it is recognizable, but it does not make the weather and does not create the proper atmosphere. God is playing with her.
Outcome? Boring, monotonous and simply stupid spectacle with no acting and no atmosphere of fear and uncertainty. And although there are many films in the world, which is much worse than this, none of them were advertised with such fanfare.
I didn't see anything creepy in the movie, so "horror" is very loud. I also don’t see anything funny to make a comedy for. There is clearly a mistake in defining the genre.
I heard about the movie a long time ago, and one night I decided to look at it, and then order a book on it if you like. I didn't order the book.
The beginning is good, foreshadows something good. But then everything collapsed.
Jennifer was stupid, and did not look like a virgin. Would you get in a van with guys you barely know? It was her mistake, for which she paid the price not only for others, but also for her own. She herself was disgusted, but Megan Fox played well, albeit a bit old for the role.
Nidy - looked pathetic when she was chasing Jennifer, but she was very smart and the actress was beautiful. Needy had to endure a lot, so I'm surprised that she just ended up in a mental asylum at the end of the film. She tried to protect her boyfriend, but he did not listen to her, because Jennifer knows how to convince. Although in the film she is really edgy, in life still more beautiful.
The film itself is boring, although the end is fun. I think the ratings don’t lie and fit the movie. If you want to kill time, look, but don’t expect anything good.
I don't know what a soul smells like when it burns in terms of feeling. So many people have been burned alive over the years because of this film. Do demons decorate the way of thinking in red, or have angels forgotten who they are? Put a cross on the film, do not sell your soul to Satan, because in this picture he reaches for you.
It was something otherworldly.”
I have long wanted to write a review of this wonderful film, although it will be so. I just couldn't figure out what I wanted or what I could tell him or whether it was worth it. How to express your feelings sincerely. For me, this film is one of the most special, important and best. With all its flaws, I just don’t see them. There is no passion, but there is a force that pulls the elect into the abyss.
Megan Fox was not interested in me at the time of the film. I only knew her as an actress from Transformers. And as soon as the first frames and trailers for Jennifer’s Body began to appear, I became curious: what is it, and why do I like it so much? While I can’t remember my madness five years ago, I can only add that we didn’t go to the cinema. It just didn't work out and we were waiting for the dvd. We just graduated from high school, and life was kind of flashing too fast, just keep an eye on the falling meteorites.
"Boring!"
The film could finally be purchased on the CD. We hardly thought about the plot, we were captured by the picture. We watched and were very happy. The cover alone was able to charge with something inexplicable, a kind of sense of happiness and a sense of coolness, raising self-esteem for weeks ahead, and the character of Meghan’s heroine “looked out” on the soul like a tattoo that you no longer want to reduce.
J. K. Simmons, you don't know. Kyle Gallner turned out to be the cutest “got” in the world (although more like emo-punk), and before Johnny Simmons was always somehow parallel, although he was good. That's who it was really unexpected to see was Lance Henriksen. So little in the frame, so much influence! I am always amazed at his appearance, as if I forget that he is here too.
“Are you talking to yourself again?” I hate this habit of yours, you look like a sloppy g-gnomics
After viewing, it was only necessary to remember your name and place of residence, if not the name of the planet. No, really, this movie really pumped me up. It seemed like the most amazing thing I had seen in my life, and that life itself had changed! Of course, it cannot be said that it had the same effect on other viewers. But I really like it [b]. When it comes to movies, Jennifer’s Body is one of them. And somehow it so happened that Megan Fox was on my list of favorite celebrities.
This is the rainbow I prayed for. It will be a clear, clear, sunny day. The musical component is a separate conversation. I just want to repeat, “cool! cool! very cool!”, but there are no such thoughts about the title “hymn” Low Shoulder. I'm their main antifan.
For now, I'm just watching this movie and enjoying myself, confessing my love every minute, sinking into this jaw of madness, burning to the ground over and over again, not wanting to return to the mortal world. And my assessment will be high, although the sky is my limit and ten on the site in maximum.
10 out of 10
This film is an extraordinary collection of all the features of American reality, clichés, stamps and ... damn sad morality.
Here you and quite average rock band, which fans provincial girls, and school beauty, which fell in love with one guy (and behind him, as usual, indiscriminately reached and others), and mockery of Gothic mourning and “angels in heaven”. Everything the Oscar-winning screenwriter could reach was laughed at. Don’t worry, nothing goes unnoticed!
Why am I not talking about the director? Yes, because the visual component and the “skeleton” of the plot are quite ordinary. Well, horror. Horror, whatever. But it is the cynical comments from the lips of heroes and heroines (heroines more often) that make the Body so extraordinary in the host of teenage horror films. Oh, my God, there are even references to Lars von Trier's suspense! Remember how the captain of the football team was surrounded by all kinds of animals in the forest.
What is it, Jennifer?
- They're waiting.
Maybe that’s why the film scores so low? Who likes to be ridiculed of “patriotism, art, pure, eternal...”? It's definitely not film critics.
This film tactfully hints at the fact that, having looked at the list of genres and looking at the “horrors” and “comedy” standing next to each other, the viewer will certainly be interested and watch the film to have fun. In addition, the very attractive Megan Fox and the beautiful Amanda Seifred are not in vain chosen for the main roles – their presence in this, let’s say, film, pleases the eye and makes you want to look further. Judging by myself, after reading the annotation, I felt something wrong – a comedy horror movie where Megan Fox plays the main role. Something is not right here.
Well, for my own sake, I decided to watch this movie. The creators clearly bet on the fact that they are shooting a youth film that can be seen in the evening, in the break between school and dinner, so there was no special deep meaning. It has everything that teenagers love so much - there is also the union of a charming beauty and an eternally cramming dummy, who is actually just a sweetie, but the first diligently eclipses the second, because she cares too much about her popularity. There is also a dull school that is tortured. There is even a dastardly handsome man who will do anything to achieve his goal. And then there is something that will certainly attract men - big breasts, bed scenes with a bit of humor, scenes with a hint of femslesh. Well, and, of course, lovers of horror and horror - blood, murder, dismemberment and hard action (from which, frankly, sometimes in a dream ..).
I did not see a deep thought (perhaps previous speakers will accuse me of short-sightedness), of course, there is a hint of some morality in the film, which is either not visible or visible, but these are already basic truths in the style of “don’t get in the car to strangers” and “sit at home in the evenings.”
What can you say about acting...
As always, Megan Fox does not make a special impression - she can not play, because, in my opinion, she does not succeed - all she is capable of is a cute smile and build eyes. Nothing special.
Amanda Seyfred is wonderful as always, but she is clearly not fit for the role of an idiot. She's too beautiful for the role. In general, there are no complaints.
Who made me happy was Adam Brody. You don't recognize him here! The viewer is so used to his curls and pretty face, designed for the roles of all sorts of kind and cute boys, that his transformation into an evil and greedy handsome man well, does not fit into your head! But here he did not fail - the acting of this guy is so natural that you do not want to choose someone else for this role!
Summarizing the above, we can say that the film came out mediocre, one time. However, for the sake of Adam Brody and excellent camera work, it is worth watching when there is free time and there is nothing to do.
It is strange that such a low rating here did not spoil my enthusiasm before watching. In principle, further than the trailer should not be stuck - this is just one of those cases when 2 minutes of cutting is much better than the picture as a whole (although the "picture", of course, is said loudly).
What is interesting, it seems that for the successful implementation there is everything: the wonderful Amanda Seyfried, who caused more hope in this situation than her pretty colleague, and Megan Fox herself, who had a task, probably even easier, but she could not do both a minimum and an interesting idea with potential, but in the end something happened that would be a pity to spend money in the theater.
One thing I didn’t like:
1. There are a lot of sagging moments in the film, the development of the plot tends to zero, and in general everything looks as if you are watching either the best pieces from the 4-hour film, or the graduation work of the undergraduate director.
2. Of all the verbal skirmishes and dialogues in principle, only one is interesting, and even then it is limited to only two phrases. In the rest of the characters often do not want to listen, unfortunately.
3. The strangest flaw is that what unites two friends is completely unclear to me. During the screen time that they took us to initiate us into their “friendship”, I could not even come close to understanding this phenomenon. In order not to spoiler, I will only say that it is not clear where the brains were clever, according to the idea, Needi.
4. Sometimes there is a claim to humor, and at one point I even thought that the film was not serious at all, but even if this is the case, then the black comedy Jennifer’s Body also does not pull at all. And black because heroes cry when they have to laugh and joke when they have to cry. It's a rejection.
5. A huge amount of understatement. Why did you make this movie? I don't understand. As if the scriptwriters did not decide what to explain what was happening, but it was too late to abandon the idea.
Oh yes, everything else, if it remained, I like it.
You should watch only rabid fans of actresses performing the main roles. The probability that you will be disappointed is almost 100%.

The genre of this film is horror. But horror is not just blood and vomit. And in this film, in fact, there is nothing more.
Let's start with the pros. The film is quite impressive, pleased with the performance of actors, especially Seifred. I would never have thought that Megan Fox could play a demo girl like this, and her role deserves a low rating. The plot itself is very original: the guys perform a ritual and do not think that there will be such consequences, because they are sure that Jennifer is a virgin. Yeah, well, then she starts eating guys' insides, eating flesh, tra-la-la... Directly impressed by the music: from the usual melodies in the film (well done composers) and rock songs provided by the group. And yes, at the beginning of the film we could not understand what was what, but in the end it becomes clear. There are disadvantages, and the disadvantages are not so in the film itself, as with the genre. It's not horror, it's ugly. It's not a comedy. It's not funny. It’s just black humor, that’s all.

For starters, let’s be clear, we’ve all watched this movie because of Megan Fox. No Amanda Seifreda or Johnny Simmons would have put us in the mood for this movie. Maybe I'm wrong, but even beauty ' foxes' couldn't save this film from failure. More details.
2 best friends, without mysteries and without secrets live perpendicular to each other, some even think they are lesbians. Jennifer, she's beautiful Fox, and her friend Needy, a bore, Amanda Seifred. Very banal teenage relationships and life values: Jennifer - as they say 'muttled', bitchy, open, narcissistic, proud selfish with ' I' above the Empire State Building. Needy is humble, sociopathic, kind and loyal not only to her girlfriend, but also to her boyfriend Chip (Johnny Simmons). Knowing this, what can be added to a film that begins its plot with a trip to a rural bar to a concert by some dead band aspiring to become known as 'Maroon 5'? Of course, an element of mysticism and horror. Brr. How scary.
Then just absurd on the absurd, the director, who tried to cover it with subtle jokes. Occultism over the Internet is what caused a rural underage prostitute to turn into a demon. Oh, my God. Did you really like that?
Then everything is like a book: murder after murder, best friend becomes a detective, throws a guy, a local party, a pinch of heroism, a little more absurd and here it is modern ' Film Horrors'.
I thought the end would be impressive. In a sad state, I began to come up with final and adequate endings, but as always, it is necessary to ruin everything with false books about the occult, demons and kill my girlfriend with a stationery knife. Oh, yeah, that's what I expected from a female director with a budget of $16 million.
"Exclusively for the beauty of Megan Fox, I bet this hopeless film"

At first glance, it may seem that this film is a typical youth horror movie. However, Jennifer’s Body has significant advantages over films of the same genre. I’ll give you a reason to look at it.
1. The plot makes sense. Many youth horror films in the plots come across such stupidity and template, which makes you want to cry. But in this movie, everything is fine. It is quite simple and at the same time interesting. All the stupid moments that occur in the film relate to the stupidity of the characters, which is generally characteristic of people.
2. Actors play convincingly.
3. There is an interesting parallel between sex and violence. One of the murder scenes and the erotic scene are shown in parallel. Immediately after the episodes in which Jennifer looks creepy, there are episodes in which she is damn attractive. It’s an interesting phenomenon: even knowing that Jennifer is dangerous doesn’t stop you from feeling attracted to her. This is especially evident in the scene of a kiss between friends. So the film even makes you think about the relationship between passion and cruelty.
4. The images of a typical beauty and a typical modest woman are well shown. A typical beauty is fixated on herself and for the sake of maintaining her attractiveness is ready for literally anything. A typical modest woman is always restrained and does not give free rein to emotions. But at some point she breaks down, and her feelings break free.
5. A quality soundtrack. It just seemed to me that the song “Kiss with the fist” is a little out of place.
The result: an interesting and not stupid film for 1-2 views

To be honest, I am surprised by the people who take this film seriously. Jennifer’s body is not even a horror or youth comedy, it is a parody of both genres. The film from beginning to end is a mockery of “youth horror films”, perhaps more subtle than “a very scary movie”, but still a mockery. You can not take seriously the story of how indie rockers from a difficult life decided to sacrifice someone to the devil and how Megan Fox feeds on boys of puberty.
I don’t think it’s one of those movies where you have to look for a lot of blood, a scary plot, wise psychological dialogue or even great acting. The film crew decided to make fun of the horror genre, and we can either appreciate the joke or get smart about the fact that Megan Fox is no longer the same, the script is nightmare, and in general, as Stanislavsky said, “I do not believe.”
Yeah, by the way. The soundtrack is great.
Before watching this black comedy (and this is how I would most likely characterize the genre of this film), I was overcome by bad forebodings: they say, and the genre is not in my honor, and Megan Fox for all its glory (I must give credit here) does not cause special sympathy, and the name of the screenwriter who sprinkled the literary basis of “Juno”, said that I was probably waiting for something teenage, self-ironic and, forgive me fans, stupid. In fact, in part, it turned out, but I was not, surprisingly, disgusted. Of course, “Jennifer’s Body” can hardly be called a high-quality, thoughtful film, but personally I was hooked here by frivolity, some parody of teenage horror films. I say "parody" because for all the blood and fang Megan, this picture does not fit into the category of horror: in short, it is not at all scary. But this is not a minus, because I realized that the creators of the film did not aim to scare the viewer to shivering in his knees.
The plot, as already clear from the brief description, is completely delusional, and delusional intentionally. I was expecting thrash, and I got it, so the film didn’t disappoint me. In my opinion, it is completely pointless to look for some logic, rationality in this creation, and in general to evaluate it as a full-fledged film is not worth it.
Amanda Seyfried liked all the actors: she played, in my inexperienced opinion, not bad. Megan Fox? Beautiful girl, but special acting abilities I did not notice for her. In fact, she looked a little creepy in the blood. And Adam Brody appeased with painted eyes.
Well, in general, "Jennifer's Body" can be seen once (only without pinning high hopes on it). True, I was still confused by a hint of lesbian love: here it is neither to the village nor to the city.
My verdict:
Unfortunately, I could not read all the reviews to objectively assess who wrote what, but the essence I caught.
Many people say that the film is banal and has no plot. Yes, such a topic is worn out, but, I say, as a person who has seen such stuff up to his throat, still "Jeniffer" made new notes in this already boring genre. The plot is quite original, if only in that we are not talking about the already tired love of man for a vampire or a similar devourer of human blood and flesh, but about friendship. Yes, maybe this friendship is sometimes called into question because of some scenes that gave a direct hint that there could be something more between Jeniffer and Needi, but still the final scene, when Needi kills his girlfriend, convinced me. Now many people will turn their finger to their temples, reading my review and wondering why I started the topic of friendship, but there is an explanation: young men and not only, coming to the cinema, waited for the spectacle in the form of a naked Megan Fox, but many may not notice that friendship is the basis of everything, is the basis for the script of this film. It's just a little different. In addition, this friendship after the plot can simply be overlooked or put it in the background, but in any case, Nidi’s revenge was associated with friendship, the very death of Jeniffer is also connected with this, and if you do not believe it, then remember the moment when Nidi tore the pendant from the neck of a friend and remember what happened next, remember the face of friends at that moment and you will understand me ... So, comrades, it makes sense. You just have to see and feel it.
Honestly, I would not like to disassemble such things as soundtracks, acting and so on, because too many words have been said about this, but you will have to say it anyway.
The acting made me happy. The selection of actors was also extremely successful. Only Megan Fox was suitable for the role of Jeniffer and only Amanda Seifred on Needy - other people in the place of Amanda or Meghan I just can not imagine.
The atmosphere, with the help of soundtracks, was preserved to the very end and fascinated... truly fascinating.
Finally, I want to say that I watched this film a few years ago and watched it just a few days ago. The film struck me the first time and the second time. Yes, I do not award him the title of “masterpiece”, but he left his mark on my soul.
