Without further ado, Blade 2 is a great example of the Golden Rule of sequels. Cooler, more dynamic, more spectacular, in general, all the best that was in the first picture, here multiplied, and the few shortcomings corrected. True, the sequel gave other reasons to grumble, but about everything in order.
So, by the will of the script, Blade and his team have to start cooperating with vampires, which, of course, does not bring much joy to either side. However, the alternative is even worse - a new subspecies of bloodthirsty creatures threatens vampires, humans, and irreconcilable enemies to forget their hatred for the sake of the common good. Well, the enemy of my enemy and that's it. In general, the plot rocks, the action is drawn, Blade flaunts.
Directed this time by the great and terrible Guillermo del Toro, and his creative nature undoubtedly left its imprint on the second Blade. What is the design of new monsters, which is very, very impressive.
The picture as a whole has become more beautiful, juicier, computer graphics still catches the eye, but already looks more organic than in the first part - after all, over a four-year break, technology managed to advance.
So far, the action looks great, the fighting scenes are staged and filmed at a decent level, watching juicy fights, albeit sometimes flavored with CGI, gives genuine pleasure.
Still great is Wesley Snipes, whose powerful charisma has definitely added to his character extra cool points.
But what really stands out from the narrative and seems completely unnecessary is the return of Blade's mentor, Whistler. The problem is that in the first part with this character said goodbye, around it was built quite strong for the genre dramatic episode. And it is not entirely clear for what purpose it was necessary to take the piano out of the bushes and resurrect the worthy departed hero.
Verdict: Blade 2 is still a great movie. Brutal, dynamic action movie about vampires, which not only did not shame the first part, but in many ways surpassed it. I definitely recommend it.
The continuation of the story about the adventures of a black vampire hunter is a nuclear cocktail of comics, urine and bloodsucking anatomy. Guillermo del Toro brought the heroes to the Czech Republic, spawned vampires who are at a higher stage of evolution, and forced Blade to temporarily unite with his enemies. Making sequels is a kind of surgery, because it is important not to destroy the plot and please the audience. However, judging by the fact that the sequel to Blade received the highest rating of all the films of the trilogy and collected the most at the box office, the Mexican still managed.
In fact, the second part is a kind of zombie movie. As it turns out, vampirism is a virus. The virus has mutated to such an extent that the “infected” acquire the jaws of a Predator, and are dangerous to both humans and ordinary vampires. And so our evil spirit decided to enlist the support of Blade and asks him for help. Apparently, vampires do not have trivial mobile phones, and mail pigeons go for a snack. I mean, they only send a request for help after they broke into the main character's base and waved a little swords there. After that, the bloodsuckers take the hunter directly to their base (!), where he is given a detachment of soldiers who were specially trained to fight against Blade. You just ask them, “What the hell?” Will you be able to perceive the squad normally, among which there are fighters with the nicknames Priest, Chupa, Snowman?
Wesley Snipes bends the line of his character - cuts, shoots, sometimes lets go. In this film there is no Deacon Frost, but the part of the dick plays no less charismatic Ron Perlman. The antagonism of his character with Blade generates a lot of wits, and Perlman himself laid out as best he could. Even minor characters such as Nyssa, the daughter of the head of vampires and Nomak, the main vampire mutant, are all good.
The action here is good. The fighting scenes are set perfectly, dilutes the atmosphere and a good soundtrack. If in the first part there were moments when the hero acted in a lighted room or in the light of day, here the whole action takes place at night, or a darkened place is chosen. Separately, I want to praise the artists on computer graphics that recreated vampire mutants - they look quite scary.
It was a pretty short opinion, but what can I say? The creators tried not to shame the first part, tried to save all its chips. And they did, at least in my opinion. The second part even surpasses the first in atmosphere and idea. But it does not stain its main advantages and does not slide to the level of the plinth. The paths of creation and creation diverge. Del Toro was noticed and invited to shoot "Hellboy", the main role in which played the already mentioned Ron Perlman.
'Blade 2' is the case when the sequel is small but surpasses the first part. The continuation of the story about the adventures of a black vampire hunter is a nuclear cocktail of comics, urine and bloodsucking anatomy. Blade has to make a temporary alliance with vampires to destroy a new species of mutants - supervampires. They are afraid of garlic and silver and are very difficult to kill. Together with the Bloody Pack, an elite squad of vampire fighters, Blade begins the hunt.
Guillermo Del Toro was invited to direct the sequel to a successful vampire hunter movie. And it turned out in places even better than the original. Del Toro uses an R rating to its fullest. And the film periodically hits hard in horror. The naturalistic scenes of megavampire transformation are really scary even now. Practical special effects rule, but the graphics are pumped up in places. The action became even more, a lot of effectively filmed hand-to-hand fights. And the script became more logical, and the plot itself less straightforward. Blade himself here does not particularly give out effective phrases and jokes, as in the first part. But the rest of the characters in this regard did not disappoint.
Wesley Snipes is still good as Blade, but the other characters are memorable. The colorful Blood Pack is led by the spectacular Nyssa (Leonor Varela), the daughter of the vampire head. And it includes Donnie Ian, Ron Perlman, Norman Reedus. Not without the constant Whistler (Chris Christopherson) and quite impressive villain Nomak played by Luke Goss.
Great sequel, in some places superior to the original. Del Toro increased the gloom and drama, added more horror and turned out fine. Like the first film, a sample of a vampire action movie and is already quite a cult classic.

Black Sylvester Stallone returns in the sequel to the acclaimed vampire movie. Snipes is still battling the bloodsuckers, but this time at the center of the battle is a new, even more dangerous species.
It is obvious that director Guillermo Del Toro succeeded in his business as well as his predecessor. Before Blade’s filming, neither he nor Norrington had much baggage and famous works, but they both managed to film a first-class comic book equally well.
Like the first part, Blade 2 is a continuous action shot in a spirit of aggression and detail. Guillermo Del Toro managed to preserve the spirit of the first picture and bring to the plot non-banal elements. In addition to the famous duo Wesley Snipes and Chris Christofferson in the film played another owner of a memorable type - Ron Perlman.
The musical accompaniment is very dynamic, impressive.
More special effects than the first Blade. Special attention is paid to static effects aimed at enhancing the perception of biological horror represented in the picture by numerous demonstrations of the insides.
The best part of the Blade trilogy. And one of the best vampire movies. And Nomak is one of the worst villains, it must be admitted. His goal is not only humans but also vampires. And whether you're a human or a vampire, if you bite someone like Nomak, you're a werewolf vampire. The idea with modernized vampires and a super jaw is good, causes not only horror, but also admiration.
Very interesting cast. Wesley Snipes is always great as a vampire hunter. Ready to destroy everyone and everything in order to cleanse the world of people from these monstrous creatures. Norman Reedus - this role actually revealed him in the eyes of directors. Years later, he became a member of the Walking Dead. Leonor Valera was so beautiful that it was sometimes forgotten that she was a vampire and pursued her own specific goals.
I want to talk about music separately. Of course, not all tracks were memorable, with several tracks (including at the club) going very well. The battle of Blade and Nomak (which is first and second) is perfectly shown. Both defend their interesting and at some point you begin to worry not only for Blade, but also for Nomak.
A good movie that you will not only watch, but also watch. There are no passing characters, as well as plot holes. So we have a movie that is rightfully among the best vampire movies. Which deserves the highest praise.
They'll fuck us as soon as they get the chance.
(approximately 27 minutes of the film)
Blade 2
Having watched the TV series “Strain” the other day, I wanted to review comrade Wesley Bladov. Just to prove to myself that Thoreau is really repeating himself. In fact, vampires look a lot like the fangs from The Strain. And the atmosphere itself.
Like I said about the Pacific Rim, sex without orgasm. Thoreau is creative. It seems like a pleasure, but without a bright splash. Only Hellboy stands alone - there is Barry Manilow and love.
As for Blade's second adventures - similarly, he is direct and calm. There will be no love. Why love him? The action is back and forth, the plot is not the most interesting. The movie is divided into several parts, each of them is a bit tiring.
We walked around the club, we walked down the sewers, the final fight is over. Yeah, it's a clean sequel that lost to Norrington. Putting his hand on his heart – if Thoreau hadn’t filmed it, nothing would have happened, but he had to sneak into Hollywood to stop pawning his house every time.
By actors. With Snipes and Christofferson, it's clear. Naturally, Perlman burns to the fullest. Why invite all sorts of piggybacks when you can call your friend, that's right. Pearlman didn't fail. And there was Norman Reedus in the background. I won't say anything about Donnie Ian, I don't want to say anything sad.
In the days of cassettes, it looked different, there were few alternatives, you had to go to the market on weekends to watch vampire movies. I don't know, I'm on the Internet right now, just for a tick. A movie that said nothing. Only that Blade can jump very high.
The film has a problematic theme of fathers and children, but Thoreau was never able to fully solve it.
P.S.
The music was very poorly selected. You really need to punish the one who shoved this rap in all the cracks.

" For it is said, Be proud of your enemy, and know how to admire his success.
After the release of the fantastic action movie "Blade" - Wesley Snipes became a world star, receiving the main role of his life - which remains his hallmark today. Marvel products became interested in big Hollywood players, starting to transfer these stories about superheroes to the big screen. The studio, which quickly became a cult among young people, decided to invest in its continuation. According to the canons of the production of the sequel to the successful tape – significantly increasing its budget. Now the project has not only gained quality over the past 4 years since the release of the first "Blade", computer special effects - but also much larger production facilities in the amount of $ 80 million, as well as the presence of colorful performers. Compared to the plot of the original film, the sequel - written by the same fan of the original comic book David S. Goyer - immerses viewers more in the vampire subculture. Showing their inner world, how they live, adapting to changing events – in particular, learning to hide their gathering places from the “day reveler”, and their arsenal with all sorts of science fiction gadgets. It turns out that more than two years ago, a special squad of elite fighters was created, whose task was to study the methods of Blade - so that later he could be destroyed. It also reveals the striking fact that Blade’s mentor, Abraham Whistler, did not die in the first part, as might be expected from what he saw. In fact, he was abducted by vampires who kept him unconscious in an airtight container full of fresh blood, for he himself began to turn into a vampire. The hero who learned about this, decides to find a teacher and acquires a new partner - a broken young man named Scud - goes on a voyage across Europe, hoping to attack the trail of those who captured Whistler. Meanwhile, an even more dangerous enemy of humanity appears in the world than bloodsuckers - a new subspecies of guerillas who are not afraid of silver and are physically superior to vampires. The bite of such a creature is enough that ordinary vampires turn into bloodthirsty and insane monsters, ready to eat anyone who will be next to them. Wanting to stop the extermination of their kind, the vampires decide to turn to their old enemy for help, relying on the experience and support of Blade, who is half-human and not afraid of sunlight. So old adversaries conclude a temporary non-aggression pact, turning from blood enemies into allies. Together, having ingenious inventions created in Blade’s laboratory, as well as using the knowledge gleaned during the battles with super-ghouls, they hope to stop the Apocalypse looming on the world.
The film not only became more fights and more spectacular action – and the fights and action have reached a new level. So the special effects have become much more perfect, computer graphics do not get into the eye, unlike the first film, although it is not enough here. Many inventive action scenes with stunt tricks and cool special effects. Now what can be filmed “live” is filmed “live”, without resorting to digital visualization. There are fights, chases and memorable scenes of the deaths of characters who flooded the entire space – they all came out so catchy and colorful! What is worth at least one squad of Hunters - each member of which is a unique combat unit. Someone owns swords, someone prefers a firearm, and another big hammer. Vampires dress in black latex suits, wear specially designed masks – allowing them not to be afraid of ultraviolet light – that Blade and his partner use in their fight against them. The nightlife of the Czech metropolis is shown - traditional nightclubs infested with vampires, who feast on young people who love such discotheques with drugs. It tells a fascinating story of the fight against a cruel and dangerous enemy, who confronts him with vampires - converts such creatures into themselves. Terrible, opening like a Predator mouth with a long tongue - sucker - I am sure, will be remembered by impressionable viewers for a long time. Just like the fact that the opening scene of the film in a vampire-owned blood collection point will forever discourage the desire to visit such institutions!
And among the actors engaged in the film, in addition to Wesley Snipes - just bathing in the image of a cool liquidator of vampires, and again returned to the role of Whistler - Chris Kristofferson - such bright performers as: the current star of the militants - Luke Goss (monster Nomack), made-up as a decrepit old man Thomas Kretchmann (head of the vampire clan - Eli Damascaminos), Norman Reedus (young assistant Blade - Scud), Matt Schulze (Chupa), master of martial arts - Donnissar (Jer), Rodneylador), Vergian (Karlavatsssssssa (Kar) and the famous lawyer (Rodorladorne) With the latter, Blade's eternal single, even begin to engage in some kind of romantic relationship. In general, who replaced Stephen Norrington - Guillermo Del Toro - was always a creative and original director, who tended to create fantasy worlds close to him on the screen. So from the sequel to Blade, he made something different from the original, much more spectacular, detailed and extensive narrative. In which there are so beloved by this director beautiful and visually rich, with a lot of nuances scenes, invented specially for the film adaptations, bright and unique costumes of various heroes, and most importantly - hovering in the air atmosphere that fills the entire screen space. In fact, taking up the film sequel, the director refracted the plot through his own worldview, shooting a completely different, his film. Which in all respects is a head higher than the original work, which is quite rare in the film industry, where the creation of a sequel is usually purely commercial goals. In addition to the director, the composer and operator of the picture changed. The music for the film was composed (and found, among other things, from half a dozen killer pop tracks) by the famous Marco Beltrami. To shoot the picture, Del Toro invited a more experienced cameraman - Gabriel Beristine. Which in working on such a large-scale action project surpassed itself!
Released in the spring of 2002, "Blade - 2" did not live up to the expectations imposed on it by the producers (one of whom was, as before, Wesley Snipes) expectations. The box office of the world box office barely exceeded the 150 million mark, in fact not even paying off the picture. Plus, it came out only due to good sales on video. True, who then had the authority of Snipes, managed to convince the studio “New Light Sinima” to invest in the triquel. But about that in another review...
Four years later, a sequel to one of the brightest vampire films was released, whose characters are borrowed from the Marvel comics of the same name. Wesley Snipes returned to the role of Blade, and was directed by Guillermo del Toro. The script was written by Marv Wolfman, Gene Colan, David S. Goyer, the latter is also the screenwriter of the film “The Raven 2: City of Angels”.
The plot revolves around the world of vampires who encountered a terrible creature. Unknown monsters are an advanced type of vampire. They eat mostly the blood of their former brethren. Vampires, frightened and confused, are forced to turn to their worst enemy, Blade, for help. He is their last hope.
Blade himself, with fear and interest, makes a strange deal. He is given the help of a group of first-class killers who, ironically, were trained to hunt him.
A day tramp is sent with new assistants in search of a new species. Soon they encounter terrible monsters, against which the usual weapons do not work. The only thing that remains unchanged is the sun’s rays, they are still dangerous to strange creatures. The truth was that if a werewolf bites a vampire, it turns into a vampire.
After a long and bloody battle, Blade concludes that in order to put an end to vampire werewolves, it is to kill Patient Zero, the one who started it all. As long as the source is alive, there will be no end to creatures.
The film is darker and bloodier than the previous one. The director and writers showed vampires on the other hand, they, as well as people, strive for power and perfection. They wanted Blade so badly that they outsmarted themselves. By creating a fearsome enemy who is virtually invulnerable and eager to destroy its creator.
Bright special effects and well-directed tricks, give the film an even greater highlight.
As a result, this picture caused me double emotions. On the one hand, I liked the film, and on the other - there is no desire to review.

Kill the Blood God as an ambitious young vampire. No question, because if Blade promises someone that he will not live until dawn, you better believe the day hunter. Blade always keeps his word, especially when it comes to killing another bloodsucker, whether it’s a vampire demon or an average salesman. However, everything is not as simple as it seems at first glance. The death of Deacon Frost only served as a catalyst for the elites of other vampire communities to begin to build new and sophisticated plans to exterminate the human race, which for many years lives with them and does not even suspect the existence of fang inhumans. In addition, bloodsuckers have their own views on Blade and it is difficult to predict the fate of his enemies. What remains unchanged? Blade's ideals. The day hunter still does not give in to his thirst and does not want to become another killer, does not want to be like these night creatures. The hero of Wesley Snipes wants only one thing: that the vampire family fades into oblivion, it is for this reason that his crusade continues, and Blade is the one who will fight to the last wave of the sharp blade.
In the second part, a lot of interesting plot twists have been added, and although they are easy to predict, but still some suspense is present, it is thanks to this fact that the story looks in one breath, and the viewer can delve into viewing, waiting for a cool denouement. The spectacular massacre of bloodsuckers also did not go away, but still these episodes are devoid of that grotesque pathos, when another bastard in the first part of the film died at the hands of Blade by erupting a blue serum into the head. This made vampire blood literally boil, and minutes later there were only meat scraps and liters of bloody divorces. No, in the second Blade story, vampire death is more beautiful than disgusting, and modern secrets of computer special effects have only contributed to the improvement of visual reprisals against the undead. We will not forget about the simple plot, where the hero is forced to conclude a truce with those whom he hates with all his guts. In contrast to the dynamism and action scenes, this plot does not stand out, but it is still a good contribution to the development of further events. And also pleased with the return of Abraham Whistler, yes, mentor Blade from the first part, as it turned out his suicide from the first part was unsuccessful. As you can see, spoilers are evil. (Fight against spoilers with garlic and silver). And all the timekeeping is accompanied by music full of drive.
Director Guillermo del Toro did not worsen the narrative about Blade, on the contrary, adding author’s ideas, he made the story more colorful, dynamic and interesting, many fans of the comics about Blade can breathe a sigh of relief, because this is exactly the Blade they would like to see on the screen. And it seems that there is little left to admire the vampire saga even more, and the creators here like this, with their idea of a new race of vampire werewolves, extremely nasty creatures that are much worse than ordinary bloodsuckers, because new creatures thirst for blood even when their limbs and even their head are cut off. That's how their detestable organism works. The new vampires do not hang out in clubs and are alien to the Frostian entertainment that was present in the first part of the film, the new kind of vampires are ungodly flesh and blood eaters, they are driven only by thirst, but one of the werewolves is different. Nomak, who is verbose and thereby slightly inferior to Deacon Frost in charisma, although he sometimes carried nonsense, and here the restraint of Nomak turned out to be very useful, and this became a characteristic feature of the hero Luke Goss, in addition, the actor perfectly conveyed the mood of his hero through makeup. However, apart from the good enough comics about the day wanderer, as well as the first part of the film, at the moment “Blade 2”, this is the best thing that happened to him, because the series did not shine much, as it was counted on a narrower circle of fans. And the third part of the story, which was accompanied more by insanity than even a simple plot or action, can not be considered a successful addition to the story of the bloody Marvel hero. Although the third part can be seen for the sake of the scene where Blade holds a baby in his hands and says, “Hoody-gu”, it is really funny.
It’s been a long time since the movie was released and Blade 2 is an alternative. While such famous films as “The Vampire’s Kiss”, “Nosferatu”, and “Dracula” are viewed to holes, and you want something new for yourself, “Blade 2” becomes an alternative, and the alternative is very good if you do not disdain stories about vampire hunters. The hero of Wesley Snipes added to the charisma, and his on-screen colleagues also look very cool, but pale, still pale under the shadow of Blade. The story of the hero is the same, he is still the same verbose hunter, only with fewer acid mines, since in the first part he fulfilled his mission and sent the murderer to his mother’s bloody ancestors. This is the same hero with a smashing sword, and gadgets added, which unwittingly makes Blade an analogue of another hero, but from the DC universe (Speech about Batman, of course). The enemies of the protagonist are still evil creatures, more evil creatures have been added to them, and the antagonist, in addition to the desire to remove Blade, is full of personal motives. The second part even added a light chemistry between Blade and the daughter of vampires Nyssa, but it is clear that Blade does not tolerate such calf tenderness and such chemistry of the relationship quickly collapses. Much has changed, much remains the same, only Blade is still the same day warrior.
If Niccolo Machiavelli were alive today, he would have every reason to resent his followers. All the writings and theories of an eminent philosopher are most often bored with a single quotation, albeit relevant. But what can we do? Enemies are easy to find, especially a strong personality with unshakable convictions, and it is safer to keep them as close as possible. For example, to have time to pull a sword and pierce someone’s chest with a long-failing heart. As you can guess, if you are a vampire hunter, there is always someone to hone your fighting skills. In place of one tough ghoul will come another, and instead of the destroyed clan will raise the head of the whole community with its own device, symbols and religion. All the pop bloodsuckers are afraid of Blade, it is not for nothing that the honorary nickname was invented, and some did – entire brigades of fighters were trained. Strong guys, in general, on the sequel to the black avenger gathered, only the coolest villain and lacked. And he is already here like this: he pounces on everyone, infects, and does not want to be friends with any Machiavellianism.
The pioneer of the triumphal comic book promotion in certain circles could already be called “master” or some other status. For a whole generation of bewildered boys on both sides of the Atlantic, Blade became a model of coolness. Hand on heart, few people cared about vampire features, when the screen sparkled sword and made pirouettes ageless hero. The tape of Stephen Norrington, with the undoubted simplicity of the plot, perfectly combined action with the notes of horror, and Guillermo del Toro, who stepped on the director's watch, did not need to be taught the features of the genre. The Mexican managed to make not just a continuation of the successful picture, but to give his own reading of the image beloved by the people. Blade naturally got rid of oppressive memories, became the absolute monarch of the night streets and did not fear an alliance with the sworn enemy for the sake of a common goal. The plot of the sequel, with the exception of the line with the search for a kidnapped mentor, boldly rejects the legacy of the original, and you do not have to wait for the first major skirmish to understand how violent and stylish the hunt has become.
For all the unparalleled coolness of the fighting scenes, the solemn “passes” of Blade himself and his retinue, the continuation is clearly uncomfortable next to the definition of “dumb muzzle”. Del Toro sought to make the comics truly intimidating, for which he did not hesitate to destroy half of the traditional myths about vampires. People, as traditional victims of insatiable thirst, were treated surprisingly humanely, but the blood-sucking community itself appeared to be an interesting organization that can be dubbed the “Gothic of the XXI century”. Graphics in golden tones, in harmony with the color of the night itself, turns on-screen Prague into Mecca for all lovers of night adventures. To be honest, the difference between Blade and his fang allies is minimized - the director made everyone cool without exception, the benefit in those years leather clothing was at the peak of popularity. Del Toro exceeded all standards in terms of action, and every scene he turned into a brutal feast. This is now, when only the “fastsages” were released as many as seven pieces, no one will be surprised by the avalanche of men bursting from testosterone, and “Blade 2” was created almost on virgin soil. Therefore, he avoided frequent comparisons with the first film, and those that were often in his favor. And loud even then the name of the director spilled a lot of water with blood on the common mill.
When the process itself saturates the suffering viewer, when the hearing sensitively reacts to the “boy’s muzon” and when the picture is refinedly beautiful, then the character of the opposing side can be ignored. Shamefully hide your eyes at the sight of Nomak, however, do not have to. In charisma, either a supervampire, or a postmodern werewolf with predatory and overly wide jaws is somewhat inferior to Frost, but all fights with his participation go to “hurrah”. Del Toro was stingy on screen time Glavgada, and the mystery of its occurrence can surprise rather in a negative sense, but the exciting chase in the sewer, accompanied by extravagant explosions, redeems the shortcomings. There are not so many directors in Hollywood who are able to deal with the obviously primitive material so qualitatively, and therefore, years later, we can safely say that Blade 2 gave Mr. Guillermo no less than he did.
Traditional for such a product drawbacks like the general cartoon of what is happening are easily written off as a rare atmosphericity. Before my eyes is not just a well-known Wesley Snipes in fashionable glasses with a sword in his hands - before my eyes it is Blade. Admiring now the successful entry into the role of Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch and anyone else, it is worth paying tribute to the “ancestor”. Eternal battle with a bloodthirsty enemy can be willingly scolded for deviations from the canon of Bram Stoker, the invasion of computer graphics, ridiculous characters and the general frivolity of the script, but how much do you know of entertaining action films that have not lost their former charm over the years? Del Toro performed the tape so that it makes you forget about comics and allows you to put it on a par with the immortal “old school” exhibits. It turned out “newskul”, so to speak, and it is difficult to come up with a more honorable recognition from the position of saturated reality.
In the diligently quiet, sometimes prosperous and beer-drenched Czech Republic was a long night. Warm light from behind the clouds seemed to drive Eastern European sleepwalkers out into the street - walk, breathe in the Carpathian air and hope, pray that none of your neck will think of eating. And these originals are here, imagine. In Indian howling, waving rakes and smugly smacking, because blood is pouring, a lot of blood, more cro-o-o-o-o-o-ovi! And the repulsive ghouls do not know that there is not enough coal-black hunter for them. And it's in vain, because he'll come and blow the blade of insatiable throats together with the pots, and they'll turn into a bunch of garments. That's the price of vampire immortality, dear guests, and it's not just Blade who is now threatening an honest bloodsucking community. Another bald screamer with such jaws crusader wobbled. Strange only that the mantle forgot, well, it is not a problem - but the followers one or two gathers.
For four years, fugitives from the painted pages lived quietly, sanctuaries were built and combat teams were trained. As the devils knew, the Blade saga is not finished with a ten-pint explosion of the self-styled god Frost, yet an old teacher to the avenger to look for. He'll do it diligently, and some Mr. Del Toro will make sure he doesn't break the wood. He watched, directed, prompted the director in sombrero, but did not restrain himself and got carried away. It’s not surprising to once stare into the mutilated face of Jared Nomak, the new anti-Blade cocksucker. Truly epochal virus of bloodlust - what only weirdos does not produce. With each generation, so to speak, they are more and more cool, more and more invulnerable and more ugly. Seriously, are you saying these monkey-like werewolves are vampires? A lot, know, Tequila persuaded before the shooting of Del Toro, and whoever does not understand it - it will taste better than blood, and less addiction causes. But the director does not tell about drinks for a long time - he is more in action, and in some places the horror is pecked. Look, don't yawn. Sometimes even on the screen and really scary, only "Marvel" stuffing treacherously makes itself felt. Hence the abundance of neon explosions and the general gloomy-golden atmosphere, as if the entire film crew remembered their childhood with epidemics of jaundice there and here.
In the best traditions of sequel production, the next series lost the remnants of philosophy and finally plunged into the abyss of bone and physique. If Norrington in the first picture with some reluctance turned to thrash, Del Toro shuffles with such steepness and does not wrinkle. Of course, the Mexican was very lucky with the time of the release of his tape – the world has not yet recovered from the “Matrix”, “slow mo”, as well as fashion for leather goods and dark glasses. The black son of his decade brought his former skills to sky-high degrees, and if he was on screen all alone, the film would only benefit. However, the director willy-nilly has to do something with the plot, and here he quickly discovers his helplessness. "Blade 2" doesn't just have big problems with logic - it's not here, from the ridiculous intrusion of bloodsuckers into the hunting alma mater to the secret of Jared Nomak. It would have been better if Del Toro had sprung his hero somewhere in Tibet to deal with the spirits of thousands of years of history there. Instead, we are offered an immersion in a vampire subculture that quickly begins to look ugly like a collection of Goths or informals that read Mein Kampf. The ghouls even found their own Fritz, and, honest prosecutorial, he is so charming, so subtle jokes, so bully that he is inevitably suspected of sexual dysfunction. Aggression has to come from somewhere.
Just for the record, let’s ask: did Blade even need a sequel? Interest, by the way, is not idle, for fourteen years ago the public was not yet overfed with dozens of continuations of various smells of rottenness. It is foolish to argue that the role of the avenger is simply created for Wesley Snipes, but the trouble is in the genre affiliation of the resulting surrogate. Del Toro could not decide before the final credits of his name: what is the proportion of horror in his film? Rapidly gaining horror maker weight, the Mexican easily managed the action equipment, but all the scarecrows turned out to be more of an optional addition. Like, "Vampire movie, so let's add, but in general, you know, better look at my other paintings." All the more so, the hellboys were filmed for something. The efforts of the handy director, who forgot the Chihuahua dog at home, deserve to be noted, but the tricky blockbuster does not go beyond the title of “teenage creep.” And the time for him is especially ruthless, what to hide now. No matter how ridiculous the original with its mannered antagonist, he really got into the stream. The sequel consolidated the then trends, but was helpless in the battle with the same “X-Men” for the right to wear the brand of the comic book. Although a powerful caste could somehow improve the situation, but in addition to the megacool Snipes, there is only an aged Christofferson and a pack of nouneims. Gold style they suited well, but outside it - the right to popularity do not have. Like the whole "Blade 2", which remained in the childhood memory, but did not grow up with its owner.

Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
The second vampire fighter movie is Blade. As a sunwalker searches for his adoptive father Whistler (who turned out not to have died at the end of the first film), a new threat looms. The virus causing vampirism has mutated, and now the vampires themselves are in danger. After all, the carrier of the dangerous virus Nomak does not disdain to eat not only human blood, but also to eat his former fellow vampires. Realizing that he does not take conventional weapons against bloodsuckers, an elite squad of vampires turns to Blade for help.
Rarely is a sequel better than the original film. That hasn't happened yet. Blade 2 could not surpass the first film of the trilogy, as well as was on the head below the third part. I loved the movie, but the atmosphere on which the original was built went. Maybe it's because of the vast expansion of the vampire universe. The first film had a naive but modern atmosphere. Acid and heavy techno soundtrack, more unobtrusive setting. In Blade 2, we are led into vampire mythology. We learn about various orders, organizations and cults, the existence of which goes back centuries. So with my father and the Bloody Pack, we were a little overreacted. But as usual, and it happens - went on high-quality special effects, acting, perfectly staged combat and action scenes, gadgets, and of course cast. I'm not saying it's a bad story. No, he's great. Personally, I don’t like to mix modernity and the Middle Ages.
There is nothing else to write, because everyone has written before me. Although the film did not become as popular as the original, it definitely deserves attention.

At the point of blood donation comes a strange guy, but in fact he turns out to be a werewolf - a vampire who seeks to destroy all vampires. Meanwhile, Blade is looking for Whistler, who has been held for years by vampires. The whole thing is that vampires want to destroy werewolves and in this crusade they need the help of the “Unafraid Light Blade”.
The second part is in no way inferior to the first film, Blade-Wesley Snipes, as always handsome, bold, strong, in a word Warrior with a capital letter. The main antagonist Nomac is not inferior to Deacon Frost, the same charismatic, daring and very vicious werewolf. I will especially highlight Ron Perlman as Reinhardt, just a miracle character, such a strong and charming man, perhaps he was not inferior to Blade and Nomak in brightness and charisma. I also liked the elite squad of vampires, cool and funny, all the characters and actors liked. Norman Reedus in the role of Scat, a funny guy, a very cute guy who is remembered for jokes and love for donuts. Chris Christofferson – Abraham Whistler, one of the most beloved characters, is glad that he was brought back to life. Leonor Varela as Nyssa Damascusinos, a beautiful girl who became a bright decoration in the men's film.
The film is cool, dynamic and very stylish, a great sequel to the first film. I liked the plot with the appearance of new werewolves, was impressed by the action movie - the battle of Blade with Nomak and Reinhardt, and the love line between Blade and Nyssa, which shows the main character from different sides, a hero, a warrior and a simple man with feelings. I also liked the stage at the disco, bright, dynamic and fun. I highly recommend it.
"- What do you think?
- Sounds good.
- What do you think about it?
- We will be “spoiled” at the first opportunity. "
The idea is the same, the plot is the same. The hero is murderously charismatic. But what has changed? His suit was upgraded. Cool vest with huge iron clasps. New assistant. Almost from the first minutes there is a conflict character, who, by the way, is the director's favorite actor. Anyway, it's just as much fun. Cuts everyone, fights everyone. There is something wrong with this movie.
The film does not make the same impression as the first. It's not terrible, but the first one was obviously better. And here it is not in the plot and not in the game of actors, but rather in the work of the operator. The picture looked very unrealistic and boring. The director is also certainly not the top, I’m not talking about what Guillermo del Toro shot recently, but he has not bad works that I like in principle.
But this movie is not bad and worth watching once.
I watched this picture as a teenager in 2005. And then it was clear what the film had gone into. For comparison, I will say what impressions the first left then ' Blade'. The first film was so cool for both its time and the present. Then it was an idea that had mind-blowing fight scenes, nice actors, the first movie that featured ' such ' vampires. Everything looked natural, felt the power, and in some places it was completely creepy. Overall, he made a huge impression as a horror fighter. Everyone was waiting for the second part. And I'll say it was a waste of time. But let’s take it all apart.
Why was it even to use in some moments of the battle poor, terribly poor quality computer graphics? It seems that in the film someone just inserted gameplay from some old fighting game. When he did not see it, did he not see it? Well, let it be on the conscience of the filmmakers, but that’s not all.
A vampire movie. Only this was forgotten, because in the film the blood does not even look like jelly! It seems that there was simply not enough money to make quality blood, only enough for liters of water and a jar of watercolor red paint. So little, moreover, it is also constantly highlighted by the campaign of the film in various glass containers. Even if you can write off this flaw, but here is the installation. . .a separate subject.
I'm confused by a few things. In the scene, when ' Scat' in the van burns these same ' new' vampires can be seen that the vampire on the hood burns like any ordinary vampire, that is, yellow fire. Although in the film ' New & #39; vampires everywhere burn blue. What the hell?!
Nomak. A little inconclusive is his regeneration, then the head from the shot heals until Blade meets, then immediately there is no trace of numerous bullet wounds in the next frame.
In the sewer scene, there is a moment where Reinhard, fleeing from a flock of enemies, is burned by rays of light from above. And then, another frame and angle, running together with Nissa both this light to the light bulb.
And finally disappointed Blade. It is not the actor’s fault, but the director’s. If in the first part he created the effect of a stylish and deadly hunter, then here he is more like a silent ninja from ancient Japan, who changes 33 racks before a fight. Looks a little unwise. In conclusion, the idea offered by the second picture is quite suitable. However, to furnish this idea colorfully, stylishly and crushingly cool is not what failed, but on the contrary, dragged the film to the bottom. The love line is essentially the same as in the first film.

2 points out of 10 for a good cast. Norman Reedus was very pleased. Well, the only one, for interesting anatomically ' new' vampires. I do not recommend watching this movie.
After “Blade” Stephen Norrington triumphantly passed through cinemas around the world and won the hearts of both critics and viewers, Hollywood producers decided that it would be wrong to dwell on only one part of the adventures of the Day Hunter and decided to continue the franchise, because the story of Blade is clearly not over and he has yet to repeatedly enter into battle with his bloodsucking relatives. Director Stephen Norrington left his post, deciding to stage the “League of Extraordinary Gentlemen”, and his place was taken by the equally talented Mexican director Guillermo del Toro, who had just begun to conquer Hollywood. One of his first projects on American soil was the intense atmospheric horror "Mutants", which, although it did not become a box office winner, but showed the world that del Toro can and, most importantly, wants to make a great movie. In addition, he is sensitive to various fantastic plots and never refused the opportunity to make a film based on comics. Well, his first experience in transferring the plot of the graphic novel to the big screens was Blade 2, released in 2002, when it became quite clear that the cinematic storm called Marvel is no one and nothing can stop. But the more difficult it was to work del Toro, because the world has already appreciated the adventures of the X-Men and Spider-Man. Viewers already knew what popular blockbuster comics looked like and their demands increased exponentially. The pressure on Norrington and his first Blade was much less. But not only was Guillermo unafraid, he was also able to stage one of those rare sequels that in some ways surpass the original. The Mexican director with his own hands created an almost impeccable hit, which almost everyone liked, having collected a lot of positive critical reviews and showed himself wonderfully at the box office. The world was overwhelmed by the fashion for black capes and sunglasses, and vampires seemed to have a second life at their disposal, regaining several lost positions and again penetrating into all the crevices of popular culture.
So, the plot of the film begins in the Czech Republic, where our old friend Blade (Snipes) stays. As it turns out, the mentor of the main character, Whistler (Chris Christofferson) did not die in the first part, but was taken prisoner by a vampire clan that for several years abused the unfortunate man and transported him from place to place, playing with an angry Blade. But, of course, those who stand in the way of the Daywalker will sooner or later fall from his punishing blade and Whistler's tormentors are no exception. Rescuing an old friend, however, is just an easy walk compared to what Blade expects next. The vampire world is shaking up some pretty scary news. A certain invisible enemy gets his fangs into the neck of bloodsuckers and turns them into such monsters. Mutated vampires do not spare anyone - neither their relatives nor ordinary people. They are like drug addicts who can not contain their thirst for blood and indiscriminately tear to shreds everyone who comes in their way. The vampire aristocracy is confused, because every day mutants become more and more and the very existence of an ancient species becomes on the verge of extinction. And so the head of a powerful vampire association decides to tie himself in alliance with Blade, so that he led an elite battle squad of bloodsuckers and helped them deal with the most dangerous threat. The hero, of course, agrees, but at the same time understands that such cooperation can end at any time.
Del Toro begins with a long and truly fascinating action scene in which Wesley Snipes demonstrates his perfect alignment and ability to handle all kinds of weapons. The sequel’s combat choreography is almost perfect. Blade destroys vampires as if in a dance. Not a single unnecessary movement, not a single omission - all in business. And such a tie, of course, sets the viewer in the appropriate way. It is worth noting that the overall ratio of chases, shootouts and hand-to-hand combat is an order of magnitude higher than in the Norrington picture. However, Blade 2 does not look like a thoughtless action movie, but as an interesting, extraordinary spectacle, in which there was a place for hints of a love line, and for dangerous intrigues, and for soulfulness. The director has long been looking for an opportunity to stage a high-quality blockbuster based on comics and used the opportunity to the full program. And even though the budget of his tape was an order of magnitude lower than that of the same “X-Men”, but the presented spectacle is incredibly pleasing to the eye. From a technical point of view, Blade 2 is unmatched. Especially pleased with the tricks performed without the intervention of computer graphics. From now on, the main character really soars like a bird, makes incredible kulbits and on his personal example proves that the mixture of a vampire and a person is able to do simply unimaginable things. Well, as for the graphics, without which in modern cinema nowhere, it completely replays the comic effects of the original. It is gratifying that del Toro did not go overboard with the effects, but used them exclusively for business, so that we enjoyed the live production, and not transferred to another computer game.
As for the cast, Wesley Snipes is still as charming as ever. His acting charisma is half the success of the production. For him, the role of Blade is like the Terminator for Arnold Schwarzenegger or his Rambo for Sylvester Stallone. You can see that Snipes enjoys his work, but it's a bit of a pity that he doesn't joke as often as he wanted. But there is nothing to do, a hard story does not accept compromises. I was also pleased with the return of Chris Christofferson, because without a wise mentor, such stories look orphaned. In addition, Blade’s team now employs a young enthusiast and part-time technical genius nicknamed “Scat” performed by Norman Reedus, now known as Daryl from The Walking Dead. The young actor created a classic image of an energetic assistant, giving the narrative a lightness and humor that should distract us after an excessive amount of prolonged action. Separately, I want to note the work of Luke Goss, who embodied the leader of mutants Nomak. Perhaps, of the whole axis of evil present in the tape, he is of the greatest interest, because his actions are far from being as straightforward as it seems and he does not just smash his relatives left and right, but achieves some higher goal, about which we will learn closer to the final.
In the end, I want to say that Blade 2 looks much more interesting than the original film. Guillermo del Toro did his best to put on one of the most memorable films of 2002 and he did his best. The picture looks in one breath and pleases both our eyes and thinking, because the narrative is really intriguing.

Making sequels of original films is a very difficult task. There's a very high risk of screwing up. And when it comes to such a grand success that won the first picture of the adventures of a black vampire fighter, the probability of screwing up greatly increases significantly. Here it is not up to the fact that ' surpass' - how inadvertently the entire franchise to the root not to ruin. This is not the best field for experimentation. So what does del Toro do? Exactly! Changing genre! From a pronounced ' militant' with an admixture ' horror', ' Blade' becomes a thriller. And, I must admit, this metamorphosis has only benefited him.
The action of the film takes place in Prague, which only contributes to the creation of the desired atmosphere - indeed, the film turned out to be very gloomy. Even in comparison with the first part, which also did not shine cheerfulness.
The movie starts with the rescue of Blade old Whistler, who, as it turned out, did not die at all, but was kidnapped by bloodsuckers, in order to take out on him all his deep resentment and hatred for our nigger. At first, such a scenario seems somewhat far-fetched, but then you realize that without this charming old man, the picture would lose some of its charm.
Then something very incredible happens - the vampires turn to Blade for help. The virus, which is ' vampirism', mutated, and there was a completely new kind of vampires - the Rippers (' faggots terrible' - as they correctly described Reinhard). And they feed not only on humans, but also on other bloodsuckers. And given the fact that their victims also become Rippers and given the very rapid metabolism that forces them to eat literally every 3 hours, the scale of the future catastrophe that threatens to become the worst plague of the 21st century becomes clear. In order to prevent this, Blade agrees to a temporary truce with an old enemy and becomes the head of the bloodthirsty pack & #39; - an elite detachment that has been preparing for more than 2 years to hunt Blade himself.
What, among other things, was the reason for the success of the first 'Blade'? Whose absence from the film would be as unthinkable as Wesley Snipes? Who riveted the viewer’s eyes to the screen no worse than the most dynamic action scenes? The correct answer is Stephen Dorff. He's Deacon Frost. He is one of the best vampires in the history of cinema. The fact of his death in the 1st picture makes the sequel absolutely helpless and uninteresting in terms of antagonistic characters. You must have thought so. In fact, that’s what everyone thought – before the appearance of the inimitable Ron Perlman on the screen. Here he played the role of Reinhard, a vampire from the same squad that cooperates with Blade. And he played it brilliantly! His charisma, wit, ' Cool' reach such colossal proportions that they threaten to outshine Blade himself. ' I keep thinking - can you blush?' - this is his ambiguous phrase worth it! But he gives such pearls no less often than the infamous robot Bender from ' Futurama'. In general, the character succeeded in fame. Ron has been good at such roles before, but here he really is ' lit'.
What about Snipes? What about him? Playing. Rubit. Cut. Shooting. Sometimes it's pretty sharp. Yeah, he's still cool and invincible. Yeah, also charming. Anyway, as usual. Only now he will have to move a little on the narrow chair of the audience sympathy. He's no stranger, though. And on the other hand, try not to flinch at the sounds of Pearlman's heavy footstep - it's like not giving way at the sight of Dorff's cute smile. To resist, as they say, is impossible. But we have to pay tribute to our diligent Negro - not bored. It's still interesting, which can't help but make you happy. His salary was 200%.
Christofferson's good, too. Plays that very small role, the importance of which at first you do not realize. But once you throw it out of this equation, it becomes impossible. They didn't give him much to open up here, but it's not necessary. A movie about something else.
The other actors are in their seats as well. Nothing outstanding, but without 'thin seats'.
Well, let's get to the main thing - directly to the action. Spectacular, brutal, beautiful. Exquisite. Donnie Ian (fight scene director) did his best! He set himself the task of 2 times surpassing (in this regard) the first part - and he coped with it, surprisingly. Only, here is the unlucky thing, the specialists in computer graphics were not so specialists - hence, and sometimes frankly cheap-looking special effects (this is especially noticeable in the duel of Blade with the envoys of the peace agreement, that in the light of the floodlights). But the overall picture is not much spoiled. Yes, it cuts the eye in some places, but nothing more. All in all, everything is VERY VERY GOOD.
What's next on the plan? Good story? Available. You can immediately see that David S. Goyer is an extremely creative person - his best creations give out on the mountain in a state of alcoholic intoxication. The script for the second 'Blade' is no exception. It was written under a degree.
In a good way.
By the way, recently Goyer still sobered up, wrote just an idiotic script for 'Z-movie' (by analogy with 'B-movie') 'Unborn', he took it off and again went to drink. Well, let's hope he doesn't get out of it now. And will continue to create...
As mentioned, 'Blade 2' is primarily a thriller. So beloved by our Guillermo genre ...
And he's good at it. Indeed, a good half of the picture is saturated with a thick, gloomy atmosphere of pure Guillermo del Torov films. The viewer just gets stuck in it, like a fly in amber. There is no way to get out on your own, but you don’t have to. The director himself pulls us by the skin, like kittens, and pokes his nose in an equally thick, crazy action.
Needless to say, the movie succeeded. Despite the lack of a certain ' integrity' (see Part 1), despite attempts to stuff everything possible into it (including some awkward ' Lovestory', all the attempts on which the screenwriter so skillfully cut off), despite the fact that it is only Sequel. Which in many ways surpassed the original film. And in any case, nothing worse than her. For all fans, it is imperative to watch. If you are not one of them, take a look. Del Toro, after all.
Leave your doubts... vampires exist. My name is Blade. I was born a half-human half-vampire. They call me "Day Tramp." I have their strength, but I do not know their weakness, except for the thirst for blood.
“Blade 2” is a continuation, I will not fear the word, of the cult action movie of the same name, developing the story of the “dryer”, nicknamed “Blade”, a half-human half-vampire rapidly and ruthlessly destroying bloodsuckers, in revenge for the death of his mother and for the “gift” received from vampires.
Why do you hate vampires?
- Hatred is in my blood.
“Blade” continues its “crusade”, which leads to a reunion with the mentor Abraham Whistler, who did not die from the brutality of Deacon Frost and from a bullet in the head, but turned into the creature that “Blade” hates most of all. Showing filial feelings, he leaves Whistler alive and, after a complete detoxification, returns the old man to the ranks. Meanwhile, a new threat looms over the vampires, unsurprisingly worse than the Blade itself. And bloodsuckers have nothing better in mind than to ask for the help of a sworn enemy, following the most treacherous principle: “The enemy of my enemy is my friend.” Taking advantage of Blade’s weakness for the people, the elite of bloodsuckers still manage to convince him of a temporary truce and unification against a common enemy. In such a close fellowship, “Day Tramp” will have to participate in intrigues steeper written by Shakespeare himself.
Is the enemy of my enemy not my friend or my enemy?
i Instead, from my point of view, the brilliant director of the first part Stephen Norrington for the production of the second picture took the master of mystical cinema, a man with a rich imagination and just a talented director, with his unique vision of each project inimitable Guillermo del Toro. Of course, his leadership went only to the benefit of the film, with his phenomenal skill del Toro rationalized and globalized “Blade” so that it became even more spectacular, even more attractive and even more incredible, the hand of genius is noticeable from the first shots, but I lacked the original direction of Norrington, but this insignificant annoyance did not prevent me from getting the full range of only positive emotions from viewing.
For it is said, be proud of your enemy and enjoy his success.
Strictly speaking, the second part was created, squeezing everything possible from the general concept in order to reveal and vividly embody on the screen the full potential of such a “brand” as “Blade”, which in general was realized by the directors. They laid the principle of “preserving traditions, multiplying their quality”. And indeed, all the “business cards” sequel saved – it is inexhaustible for a minute action, replete with stunningly balanced dynamic moments that do not allow you to miss a second, it is a delightful, insanely beautifully staged hand-to-hand combats and shootouts and, of course, this first-class cast, especially the charismatic main villain – all these key, defining aspects were taken into account by the second film crew and moreover greatly improved.
If you want to do something on your conscience, do it yourself.
A permanent member of the leadership, apparently the only remaining creator of the first film was screenwriter David S. Goyer, who also consistently wrote well and adapted the script for the sequel. Maybe the text is a little banal, template, not in this the main thing and you should not pay attention to it and especially be disappointed. The script is set out in such a way as to show the world of bloodsuckers and the "Blade" in all its glory, to visually indicate its best sides, and for a film of this caliber this is the most important and valuable, to attract the viewer and not to let go until the very end exclusively action-component and as if it were childish it did not sound cool looking heroes.
Theo van de Sande was replaced by the cameraman Gabriel Berishtain, which, unfortunately, deprived the picture of visual unusualness. At the same time, there was a lack of “clip” installation, quick rewinding and sharply changing frames.
Also, a new face - composer Marco Beltrami, taken to replace his tesque Mark Aishem, perfectly accompanied the film with music.
Regarding the new strain of vampires, in particular the design of their appearance, the special effects directors fantasized to fame.
I will not touch on the old actors and their heroes: Wesley Snipes, Chris Kristofferson, with them the full order is also always great, and I will pay more attention to new characters, especially the main antagonist Jared Nomak, who brilliantly performed on the screen by a little-known musician and even less famous actor Luke Goss. He was a worthy competitor to Stephen Dorff, who played the arrogant Deacon Frost. No less flattering attention deserves other members of the newly well-chosen cast, namely the beloved of “Blade” Leonor Varela and his newfound ally Norman Reedus, the head of one of the largest vampire clans Thomas Kretschmann, del Toro’s favorite and brazen vampire-French Ron Perlman and other episodic, but important heroes.
Who do you think deserves high patronage? Spider or butterfly?
"Blade 2" is a sequel that is not inferior to the original, is held on an equal footing with it. If there are any omissions, they consist only in insignificant details, simply not able to somehow spoil the impression, and in significant genre moments the second part even surpasses the first film.
What is good about the Blade series is the constantly emerging new ideas. And let these changes are mostly purely cosmetic in nature, but allow each film to differ from the previous ones.
In the plot of the film there were a little more unexpected turns. The work of the characters has improved, they have become more like real people. The idea that Blade and the vampires will join forces against a new enemy is logical and vital. And vampires themselves have become more like really strong and dangerous creatures, besides having a rich life experience and high intelligence.
A new variety of vampires that hunt their own kind turned out perfectly. They really feel something alien and repulsive. Guillermo del Toro has always been famous for his ability to create really strong visual images. Even previously faceless vampires now have their own special style. What about the temporary allies of Blade? Each of them really stands out both in appearance and in the manner of moving or talking.
Of the new actors, I liked Norman Reedus as a double agent nicknamed "Scat". It is also impossible not to mention R she Perlman with his brutality and intolerable hatred of the main character. The main female image is represented by the beautiful Latina Leonora Varela. The image created by her became simultaneously strong, independent, but at the same time sexy and feminine.
So Guillermo del Toro seems to have managed to make the sequel even more spectacular and memorable than the original. His signature visual style was more than ever to the place in this picture.

Marvel hero Blade continues his march on the big screens. Unlike most, I didn’t like the first part of the trilogy. It was a raw and unfinished film with a bunch of blunders, devoid of innovation and atmosphericity. The second part is pleasantly superior in almost everything.
It's an interesting plot. In the vampire world, a new species appears, threatening primarily not people, but themselves. From their bite, they become the same bald and creepy mutants, starting a hunt for their former brethren. In my memory, this is the first case of the appearance of such vampires with the opening “petals” of the chin. This excellent find in terms of the spectacle of monsters will later be repeated in the game Resident evil 5 (and the subsequent unsuccessful film by Paul Anderson, largely simple and inappropriately copying the plot of the game) and Stamme directed by Guillermo del Toro, who directed Blade 2 himself.
Coming to the director's chair del Toro is a positive phenomenon. Better angles, fights and special effects. Paphosity and illogicality in actions, which are everywhere present in the first part, have significantly decreased, although they have not completely disappeared. Sometimes from Blade's mouth still sound cutting ear, pompous and clichéd phrases, but, fortunately, there are few. Or, for example, in the scene of Whistler’s release, before simply cutting the wires connecting him, Blade performs a series of acrobatic swings with his sword. But it's a little nitpicking.
I was very pleased with the change in humor for the better. Compared to the first movie, it was much funnier. There are a lot of things that make you smile.
But the main thing I liked was the new vampires. It is they, being almost invulnerable and scary in appearance, whip up the eerie atmosphere of the film. The choice of the main villain - the carrier of the virus Nomak - is a very correct decision. For all his spookyness, he has an amazing charisma. It's nice to watch them and Blade fight.
The secondary characters here are written much better than in the original. Especially good is Reinhardt performed by Ron Perlman. Their amusing antagonism with Blade generates a good part of the film's jokes. In general, the entire elite team of bloodsuckers looks interesting. Each of them is a kind of “boss”, very strong and with their own individual techniques.
Well, it was interesting to look at the period before “The Walking Dead”, but after “Saints of the Bundoc”.
The result: the sequel turned out stronger, more exciting and atmospheric than the original.

Numerous sequels and sequels have long become something quite common and mandatory phenomenon of modern cinema. After all, why not make a sequel to a successful film that brought the creators a new army of fans and a considerable amount of monetary benefits? Especially if this is a continuation of the film “Blade”, which still holds the laurels of the classic vampire action movie, and at that time it was a kind of element of the cult of society.
The director changed, but Guillermo Del Toro not only adequately continued the work started by Stephen Norrington, but also went much further. That is why if the first film gave the impression of a unique symbiosis of a cool action movie and an atmospheric thriller, then the feeling of tension, cruelty and suspense inherent in thrillers and horror films has grown many times. Making the film even darker and moving much further away from the usual standards of film adaptations of comics.
This film was the first transition Del Toro from the genre of horror and thrillers to entertaining cinema, but even his first "pancake" he beat not a lump, but damn decently. Since the main advantage of the picture is just a luxurious visual range. Action in this tape according to the law of continuations has become more not only quantity, but also quality. Impressing not only the magnificent confrontation between Blade and Novak in the final, but also a considerable number of scenes of the film.
It also captures the fact that Del Toro has always been a passionate creator and innovator. Not only in terms of creating unique worlds, but also populations with their unique creatures. Hence, it is not surprising that with his appointment as director, he also brought a new kind of vampire to the film, which became one of the main advantages of the film.
Within the framework of the plot, the film lost a certain drama that elevated the first film against the background of most commercial products of the time, but even with a lack of drama and lyricism, the plot did not hit the dirt with a face. The mere fact of combining the forces of Blade and vampires, two hated enemies for the sake of fighting one common, has already bought and was beaten by the creators above all praise. Not only creating a very exciting plot for commercial cinema, but also revealing the world of vampires even wider.
Wesley Snipes is still as damn good as Blade. Perhaps the image and lost a certain drama, but fully revealed as a real hero of the action movie and in this Snipes was always good. Chris Christofferson still strongly bribes in the image of the charismatic Whistler, and the invariable "muse" Del Toro in the face of Ron Perlman did not disappoint as always. He always looked like tough guys. That’s where the character suited him perfectly. And he was overrated by all praise.
All the actors who played the role of a team of vampires led by Donnie Young and Matt Schulze coped with their tasks not poorly. Actually, like the legend of films of category B and C, Luke Goss looked very impressive in the image of the main villain. Charismatic, brutal and very sinister.

Blade 2 is a rare example of how a sequel can be not only as good as the original, but in some ways even better. Perhaps losing a certain drama, the film effectively manages due to the significant expansion of the movie universe of the Day Vagabond and a truly hurricane-like spectacle of the duration of the entire film.
Two years have passed. Intending to bring back his teacher, Blade again passes through hundreds of vampire corpses, but the moment comes when his enemies ask for a truce - a new threat appears on the horizon, much more terrible than ordinary vampires - werewolves, they are mutated vampires, whose number is growing exponentially. Teaming up with a clan of vampires, Blade goes on a hunt, not realizing that he is a pawn.
After the success of the first part, it simply could not fail to appear, and if you compare it with the first part, the second looks not much worse than the original, although it is quite an interesting and dynamic film with original ideas, namely, to introduce new opponents, more dangerous and deadly than the vampires themselves. Moreover, the concept of new creatures is maintained at a rather interesting level.
The screenplay looks less interesting than the original, and unlike the first part, there are predictable moments that entail the refutation of one interesting idea - the enemy of my enemy is my friend. But in general, it is difficult to call it uninteresting, another thing is that it is not as catchy and not as exciting as the first film.
Interestingly, Blade's image has expanded a little. In this part, he became more emotional, constantly sarcastic, and not linen sense of humor (moreover - he began to joke more often), but still looks quite a great character, the blessing of waving a sword and shooting he did not forget. But what is surprising in this part is no longer the emphasis on the constant need of the hero for blood, more exposing his ability and ability to put sticks in the wheels of vampires. That's good.
If we talk in general, the second part, like the first - a purely entertaining movie, and unlike the first part, the second is much closer to this concept - there is a minimum of drama, a minimum of morality and philosophy, and more action - shoot here very often, which allows you to watch movies almost non-stop. As a result: a good and interesting sequel, slightly expanding the original, but not exceeding its main advantages.

The famous vampire fighter is back on the big screen. The film takes place in Prague. Blade arrives in the city to find and destroy the local caste of vampires. However, after a while, he learns that somewhere in the alleys there is a new kind of ghouls that can destroy both humanity and vampires. Blade must team up with a squad of local night creatures if he wants to destroy a new enemy and save the world from an unenviable fate.
The story does not shine originality and new ideas. However, it will appeal to many fans of the first part and fans of vampire themes.
The film has a good cast led by Wesley Snipes. The actors did well with their roles. Of course, the film does not claim to be the best actor or actress, but for a picture of this orientation is not bad at all.
The film also boasts good special effects and music.
"Blade 2" is a good fantastic action movie and a good continuation of the series. The film will appeal to fans of paintings dedicated to the fight against all kinds of evil spirits.
For me, the first part is the highest stage of the Blade and I don’t think it will be any better. As they say, “Never say never.” As for the second part, we will review everything in order.
Plot: Now the main threat to humanity, namely the vampires, is under threat and they urgently need to do something. They are powerless against the hybrids that devour them. The only way of salvation is “chosen” or, in the language of vampires, “the day tramp.” But why would he do that? Why would he help the bloodsuckers he already “friends”? – The old vampire, “What do you think they’ll do after they kill us all?” Again, the motive for the actions of the Blade is us. Even though he has to make alliances with the creatures he hates the most. As an aid, the head of the vampires sends the "day" team of fighters who were (initially) specially trained to eliminate him.
Actors: Wesley Snipes is simply created for the role of "blade". Honestly, I can’t imagine anyone who could show this character so well and dynamically. I even sorted among other American actors and realized that this was the same person. Yes, there is one actor who played a character in the series Blade (except for the pathos and mockery of the character, there was nothing). Let's be honest with our conscience. What does he care about old Wesley? Chris Christofferson, as always, did a brilliant job. From the first episode, his image won my sympathy. " Whistler is a pretty cool and resourceful guy. How can you not respect such a character? Ron Perlman looked brilliant. I would say one of the best roles of an actor. At least I think so. He played a good ghoul who always asks for trouble. The character has some pathos and with excessive self-confidence. But at the same time, he is like a dog, wagging his tail in fear and at the same time barking to scare. Matt Schulze did not badly cope with the role of "battle bad", a hater of people. I liked his aggressiveness towards the "day tramp" that he carried over to the old days of Whistler (because he knew he had no chance against the "day one.") Also, I want to mention Donnie Yen, who was given too little role. And he would have worked with Blade.
Overall, the film is good (bravo directed by Guillermo del Toro) and as a sequel, it deserves applause.

Blade 2 stands out from the trilogy, and I’ll explain why. If the first part was good, the second - just amazing, I think about the third and not even worth talking about, worse not anywhere, pure failure, but it's not about her. In this picture, we can observe not only a unique plot in its genre, which cannot but please from the first minutes of the film, but also independent, very colorful characters. Everything looks very harmonious, the action scenes, although not at the height, but still please, the staging of fights in the style of “Blade”, is also good. Especially I want to mention the anti-hero Nomak, which turned out to be more outstanding than Dikan Frost from the first part, he emanates fear and power that makes you worry and nervous while watching. In other words, this work has the soil, a good black soil under his feet, on the basis of which it turned out such a good film, fertile I would say. Alas, David S. Goyer, the director of the 3rd part, wanted only to cash in on this picture, in connection with which he came up with an original plot, but put it very weakly. Therefore, we review the first two parts of Blade and hope for the long-awaited remake.

In the cinema was made a huge number of films about vampires. The plot was mainly based on the main principle. There is one main character who is positive. There is another main character who is negative. He or she is a vampire who is full of minions, leading a fierce fight with the main positive character. However, there has never been a movie in which vampires are the victims of vampires. This is an interesting idea.
Plot
The vampire world was taken by surprise. For unknown reasons, a new race of vampires appeared, which, in addition to humans, also feeds on the blood of vampires, turning them into their own kind. Driven to despair, they are forced to turn to their archenemy Blade for help, who reluctantly but still agrees.
Director
It was unexpected for me to learn that Guillermo del Toro was sitting in the director’s chair, who had previously made horror films about creepy monsters and nightmare ghosts. Usually his films feel his own style, the manner of shooting. Fight scenes are usually bombarded with anxiety combined with humor. There was no such thing in Blade 2. He made a horror film with elements of the action movie. As a horror movie, the movie was not bad. It was even scary.
Scenario
The plot of the film really keeps you intrigued. The film begins with a guy who looks like a drug addict donates blood to people who turn out to be vampires. Suddenly, he attacks the bloodsuckers himself. You're starting to get confused. After all, never before had a vampire attack a vampire for blood, for vampire blood. The writers used their imagination and created a new race of vampires with their own biological characteristics. In the scene, when the intrigue is revealed, it was unexpected to find out the truth.
Visual and sound effects
The computer graphics were amazing. The appearance of the new vampire race looked spectacular and realistic. I was particularly impressed by the spreading mouth and the strange appendix instead of the tongue. As for the sound effects, I liked that the editors, instead of the usual growl, gave the vampires the cry of an alien from the movie Alien.
Result
Blade 2 is a worthy continuation of the story of Day Tramp, who had to give up his principles for the sake of saving all mankind. The film has a twisted plot, an intriguing plot twist, excellent fight scenes, stunning computer graphics and a violent atmosphere that does not leave the viewer throughout the film.

Blood donation. A mysterious, dystrophic stranger with addictive habits. Of course, a vampire, who are you going to surprise these days? But super vampires in 2002 are still quite capable of surprising. Meanwhile, Blade, the perfect weapon named after a gun, as always serious, bulletproof and not prone to blushing for his work, continues to terrify the bloodsuckers. But people are in danger, super-vampires have an army, one in the field is not a warrior, and inevitably have to unite with enemies, joining an elite hemoglobin-dependent special forces. And then they're together -- blah, blah, blah. It is rather silly to describe a straightforward plot that cannot say anything coherent, and, perhaps, does not want: why do men need words?
Guillermo Del Toro’s first big studio project cannot boast of creative freedom, space for the flight of fantasy. All of this will come later, with Hellboy. But in "Blade" you can see the handwriting of the master: inventive directing, impressive (not by the night will be said!) evil, not to mention the favorite director Ron Perlman, who quite manages to squeeze on the screen Wesley Snipes. There is really nothing to catch in this good action movie, but it is shot with dignity. The conditional plot, reduced to the quest “we are going as a detachment to stop evil”, is generously diluted with action: in infrared shooting, in neon lights, in powder smoke, on swords and hand-to-hand – for every taste.
Some of the action was even abused. For the abundance of action del Toro forgets about his hero, reduces him to a fighting machine, but in the first film there was a drama. Whether it’s needed here is a tricky question, but a little bit of depth would definitely help. What is missing is a charismatic villain of Stephen Dorff’s caliber, an inventive plot, perhaps a lyrical line. Even the final attempt to ignite some empathy for the hero is unconvincing, for the line with Blade’s spiritual mentor, who became him like a father, is embodied in a single episode that quickly weathers out of his head. Just an hour and a half of darkness, oppressive music and shed blood.
But what can not be taken away from the picture is a skillfully built atmosphere and a fair amount of humor, not high-class, but quite sane. And, of course, directorial finds. Del Toro doesn't let the sequel slide into thrash. With all his boyish enthusiasm, which every year seems to increase, he does not let the viewer get bored, deftly presenting the newly invented bicycle as something new. Unusual angles, ruthless operation of stuntmen, warm colors (against the cold of the first part)... Stylish, grotesque, catchy, visually non-standard. In the end, expensive and beautiful, without the shining of the camera and other dubious delights. Yes, continuous action is even harder to surprise than vampires, but to serve it with savor, you need talent.
I watched Blade 2 for the first time a long time before watching the first part. I decided to revisit the entire trilogy. Even after the first viewing of the second part of the trilogy about the vampire hunter Blade I really liked and to some extent even impressed. Then (and now) I wasn’t a horror fan, but I liked this trilogy, including Blade 2.
From the very beginning, this film caught me and I was very interested to watch what was happening, especially since the action in this film was at a fairly high level. Including special effects. They were also very well executed and in some cases even impressed with their realism. It all looked really spectacular and exciting.
As for the horrors themselves, when I watched Blade 2 for the first time (and then I was less than ten years old), then they seemed really scary, but during this viewing I did not think so. Although I think that part of the horror in the film was very good.
The director’s chair this time went to a completely different person. This time the film was directed by Guillermo Del Toro, who directed the dilogy "Hellboy". Guillermo was very well able to implement the idea of the film and convey it on the screen. Everything was done quite well and spectacularly, and I really liked it.
The main role in the film was played by Wesley Snipes. I can’t think of him as my favorite actor just because I’ve seen very few movies with him, but judging by the ones I’ve seen, Wesley may soon be on my list of favorite actors. In the same film, he played his character very well and efficiently. Blade in his performance turned out to be an interesting and entertaining character.
In addition, Chris Christopherson, familiar to us from the remake of “Planets of the Apes”. His character seemed to me very well played and memorable.
Also remembered Ron Perlman, Matt Schulze, Leonor Varela, Norman Reedus, Thomas Kretchmann and Luke Goss.
In addition, I would like to note a fairly good soundtrack of the film. Unlike the first one, it was written by Marco Beltrami. As for me, the soundtrack turned out to be very good and absolutely accurately reflected everything that was happening on the screen.
Bottom line: as a result, Blade-2 turned out to be a very interesting and exciting horror movie and a worthy continuation of the first part.
Continuation to be...
