My friends, I have no words. Which can be compared to music. It is a life filled with magic, a divine gift of the Creator. When the hearing fascinates wonderful sounds, and the eye delights fiery dance, you experience an inexplicable feeling of sweet bliss. But your concert is just a drop, a teasing gulp, it has not quenched me, my spiritual thirst. Therefore, I ask you to do me the high honor and welcome with all your troupe to my estate, so that I have the happiness to enjoy the harmony of your unique art.
I have seen many beautiful women in my lifetime, but I have never met such a woman. Slim, graceful, what a voice! How many wonderful moments I had with her. Her wonderful singing delighted me. That was a bird of paradise. Leave it, but do not let it outside the property! To the end of his days he shall wander in my domain. . .
Thank you for the Soviet dubbing, enchanting the ear with the wonderful beauty of the Russian language. Yes, they were heavenly sounds.
The film was released in 1989, although it was shot much earlier, in 1986. The premiere took place on Saturday, August 5, 1989. Large, multi-star theaters intercepted the film first and launched it for a week or two; small theaters, DCs and clubs screened the film in September. On the posters, I remember, Mithun was clumsy with the inscription "Continuation of the Disco Dancer." It was a ruse... Of course, there is no continuation of the film. But about such concepts as “sequel”, “remake” then and heard not, so they did not come up with anything better than to write “Continuation”. It would be better, of course, to write “From the creators of the Disco Dancer”, but then such an announcement was not in vogue.
“Dance, Dance” is, of course, very similar to “Dancer Disco”, it’s a spiritual sequel. Heroes and villains have changed, but the storyline as a whole has survived. The highlight of the film was the appearance of the colorful villain Amrish Puri. Also hooked the idea of the director to make a rich man cursed by everyone in the “Disco Dancer” performed by O. Shivpuri a generous impressionario D. Brown (in the Dancer he was played by O. Puri).
The film was heavily criticized by fans of The Dancer. Like, there are no spectacular fights, the music is no longer sparkling, and Mithun’s “partner” – Mandakini – is too thick.
But personally, I liked "Dance, Dance," even more than "Dancer." “The Dancer” is a very sweet tale, and in “Dance, Dance!” I already saw a layer of drama.
I love this movie as much as Dancer Disco. At first, I took him for the continuation of this film. They are basically identical.
Only here Mithun Chakroborti is not Jimmy, but Romio.
The same masterpiece of Babbar Subhash as the Disco Dancer.
Mithun Chakroborti not imitating, good as always, just no words.
And his partner in the film Mandakini (also an amazing actress, a beauty with light skin and blue eyes, inherited from her English father).
And Smita Patil (Radha) is just amazing, I love her as an actress. At first, she even regretted that she played a sister, and not her beloved Romeo, so I wanted to see them as a couple. But the role of the sister suited her better.
And how I hated Reshim (Shakti Kapoor) her husband for all his abuse of her. But in the end, when he repented, he felt sorry for him. He lost everything because of his love of money and wealth. He is also a great actor, handsome, smart, all his characters are always bright and recognizable. Especially when he's playing the villains.
And of course, Bollywood’s main villain, Amrish Puri. Incomparable as always, the villain of the villains, he wants to kill from the first frame.
Mithun plays from the heart, living each role as his own life. Very sincere. It's impossible not to love him. Like I said before, I am my favorite actor.
The film is very bright, colorful and instructive.
Youth can learn from it (and in general all Indian films, for which they are loved), how to love loved ones, how to respect parents, how to treat women.
Bollywood with his films brings kindness, nobility, beauty to the world. It teaches patience and true love. Although many may disagree with me, and even argue, but this is my personal view of all Indian films.
The music is amazing and the dancing is amazing. Mithun's movements on stage are something that cannot be repeated. Only he can move like that.
I’ve watched this film at least once as Dancer Disco (also about 55 times) and will review it more than a dozen times.
Babbar Subhash is a brilliant director. All his films are masterpieces that you want to watch and watch always.
A simple, sincere story fell along the way to the liking of millions of Soviet viewers, although it is a reflection of the previous Indian super hit “disco dancer”.
This movie is worth watching with a new, unblemished look.
You can treat both films differently, but it is impossible to forget them, especially those who can be counted in the 80s generation, for many years.
The picture and sound are not much different, the storylines are similar, both about a young artist starting his way and making his first step in show business with all the ensuing... Only their interpretations of events are different and here the two stories almost do not overlap. Both films were a resounding success, both, at one time, brought many young fans out of psycho-emotional balance. I don’t know if the movie is still like this. Dance, dance destroys neuro-sensory connections for the first time, interferes with their mental activity in the classroom.
During the calendar year 1989, I watched Dance, Dance, perhaps once, but in a crowded room. Those who have not been able to or have not seen the previous film of Babbar Subhash. The disco dancer was certainly rewarded with Mithun Chakraborty’s more honed, triumphant performance and accepted his new work with unanimous jubilation.
After years, this film does not cause in me a burning desire to review it, under fries, I watch another movie, sometimes I drink soda after watching this or that masterpiece. Not without drawbacks, of course, and the film “Dance, dance”, to whom it may seem excessively emotional, suffers from other chronic ailments inherent in the genre of “Indian cinema”
But no matter how much someone gloats and scolds him in every way, they will not be able to take away from Indian cinema its deafening glory in the USSR and the joyful hum of the audience in the hall.
And a part of this hum undoubtedly belongs to the painting “Dance, Dance”.
The spiritual sequel to Disco Dancer. The same hero, the same stages of life, instead of a mother, a sister. Mithun is still on top. However, the highlight of this film is, of course, Amrish Puri – the main “villain”. Bollywood. With his unparalleled performance, he overshadows all other actors, even Chakraborty.
The film was released on Soviet screens in the midst of perestroika and was presented as a "continuation". This is a kind of advertising move. In that era, Indian cinema was losing popularity, it was slowly but surely replaced by the creations of Hollywood.
Impressive songs. Brother Louis was replaced by a funny pun "Tooth, teeth ... zoo-zoo", clad in live, sparkling music; magnificently sung Indian food - halva; the last song - a call to dance - and forced to jump right in the cinema to the foreground and start squabbling in the beat of Mithunu (thank God, everyone coped with this desire and watched the film in a sitting position!) .
Babbar Subhash is a little-known director, these two creations of his "Dance Disco" and "Dance, Dance" have become much more famous than himself, and so I want to say to him: "Thank you, Mr. Subhash, for our happy childhood."
This film is great for its simplicity and morality! It makes me nostalgic for the USSR! The USSR brought the best films of India! There is a very deep meaning here, but the film is distinguished by its plausibility and simplicity. And its relevance has not lost: cruel show business, star disease, fame, which is so easy to beat, and competitors who are ready to do anything to achieve their goals.
It's a film about loneliness. The total, tragic loneliness of man!
Rama lost his parents as a child. The only person who stayed with him was Sister Radha. Now it's the meaning of his life. She supports him all the time, she is always there. She's the one who invented the restaurant performance. It was her energy and fiction that broke into the contest of young talents. Radha always seems to hold his hand. But one day he lets out that arm. . .
Now all her thoughts are about her husband Reshem, where he, drunk or not, will beat or not. She doesn't care about Romeo. And Romio is left alone. At all. Romio's gone. Janita? Does he love her? Or just sheltered next to two loneliness, so it was not so cold... Friends? Romio doesn't have them. And the troupe of “Superdanzer”, with which so much has been experienced, easily betrays him – “Well, go away – we have Janita.”
In this life, only Radha needed him. But Radha also drove him away. Loneliness closes like a deadly circle.
Drunk dirty Romio - he is weak, and Mithun constantly emphasizes this trait in him through a haunted look, awkward movements, relaxed gestures. The hero suffers not in a cinematic way, but as in life - painful, ugly. His words to Janita sound very sincere and tragic: “Capture the moment.” You wanted to be a star. Then you will understand what it means to be alone.
He’s just freed now, as scary as that sounds. The world has found its edges and certainty. Now Radha is gone, and there is no question of whether she will forgive him or accept him back. Everything is becoming clear. And Romio goes back to the people. And finally, Mithun. In the film “Dance, Dance”, the image that Mithun creates is incomparably deeper than in “Dancer Disco” – perhaps for its tragedy.
You can always watch these movies! Great movie of all time! Watch and learn!
This film is great for its simplicity and morality! Watch everyone! This makes me nostalgic for the USSR! However, the film is distinguished by its plausibility and simplicity. And its relevance has not lost: cruel show business, star disease, fame, which is so easy to beat, and competitors who are ready to do anything to achieve their goals.
The theme of love may not be as vivid here, but it is evenly held throughout the film. And here we are not talking about the relationship of the protagonist with girls ... no ... here is much more important the love of family, relatives and the whole world.
Easy viewing and at the same time moderate dynamism. There are no abrupt transitions, turning points: a little dancing there, a little to beat the face of the evil uncles here - and everything is in chocolate (in our case - in the halva).
The main character, of course, an ordinary orphan living on the street since childhood - this is the standard of the main character for any Indian film. What else is needed: of course, an attractive appearance, a crystal clear heart and talent. Without talent, where? But Chakraborty is fine with that. I still remember a moment from the disco dancer: how he danced on the ribbing! What he's doing with his feet! And I’m not talking about the climactic performance of Romeo before the final muzzle. That was great!
But here's what's obvious and obvious, I think, to every blind person. The film is titled Disco Dancer: Version B. Almost indistinguishable character of the hero, the same fate. Particularly observant may even see that a frame from “version A” is inserted into “version B”.
But still, I prefer to look at the new interpretation, since it is much more relevant, non-standard in its attributes and is not stuffed with a horde of bandits, whom the main character will always beat with one left, and a beautiful girl who is actually the daughter of your most sworn enemy.
I no longer want to talk about a humiliated mother, an evil rich man, a kind producer and fame for all of India.
Of course, the Indian actors, to put it mildly, nightmare, but the film survived on Mithun, who is still not deprived of the talent of acting. Also, of course, I want to notice the heroes Sinha and Binu – clearly, people are trying to play, and they succeed. We can mention Resham, but he is not so significant in his role.
I bet
10 out of 10
I don’t want to talk about the likes of Mandakini and Smith Patil: a pretty face and a squeaky voice were all I needed from them. In principle, to evaluate them as actors - nonsense.
What about music? Disco! The song "Dance, Dance" is especially remembered.
“Dancing is life! Life is dancing.
