When a single photo can affect a lifetime The name of director, writer and producer Glenn Gordon Caron is unlikely to say anything to anyone. And the fact that he had a nomination for the Golden Raspberry award with his film “Love Romance”, shot in 1994 (just the next he shot “Portrait of Perfection”, released three years later), hardly gives Glenn Gordon Caron additional whists. But viewers with experience can still express their gratitude to him, because he made efforts to write new episodes of the famous series “Moonlight Detective Agency” & # 34; which made Bruce Willis a real movie star, and the series itself legendary. But, of course, this is not what attracts the viewer to view “Portrait of Perfection”, but the fact that the main role in it was played by Jennifer Aniston, who then shone in “Friends”, and was also the wife of Brad Pitt.
“Portrait of Perfection” is, of course, not a romantic comedy with a small addition of melodrama. In principle, this genre does not require that the tape was stuffed with various types of attributes, it is enough that the tape was light with a mandatory happy ending, giving the viewer an excuse to believe in a fairy tale of love, when your only and unique half appears completely unexpectedly. That’s how it is in “Portrait of Perfection.” Aniston’s heroine would have already got married, where her mother (Olympia Dukakis) pushes him hard, but she completely devoted herself to her career. But suddenly, a big project floats out of her hands that she has been working on for so long and hard. But why? And her boss (Kevin Dunn) explains that when she is not married, she can run away at any time to the competition, because she is not kept by her salary and place, which allows you to be confident in the next day. A best friend (Illiana Douglas) decides to help Aniston and announces that she is getting married soon. Who is the chosen one? And this is a young man who Aniston met at the next wedding, and he also became a hero who saved a little girl from a fire. It was played by Jay Mor.
In the head of the heroine Aniston, a plan ripens that they sort of quarrel with their pseudo-fiancé in front of everyone and everyone is happy: Aniston is working on the project, and Jay More gets a tidy sum. In addition, Aniston sympathizes with the hero of Kevin Bacon, luring him to his bed. In general, everyone should only win, but here’s the bad luck: the hero Mora openly falls in love with his “employer” and Aniston’s plan begins to collapse before his eyes, and reaches its climax at a social dinner in an expensive restaurant. Aniston looked into the water when she starred in this picture. Soon she was waiting for a divorce from Brad Pitt and for a long time she could not find a friend of heart. And the fact that then Aniston will become the heroine of many romantic comedies, where her character is an unmarried woman. In general, the “Portrait of Perfection” seemed to write her future, and Aniston prepared herself a role for many, many years in advance. You will not find anything new in her image, you suddenly did not see “Portrait of Perfection”, but for this many people love Jennifer Aniston, this queen of romcoms, who replaced Meg Ryan on the pedestal.
Other actors involved in the film, too, not much surprise you, but, nevertheless, the overall picture they do not spoil. To be honest, I really liked it and more than once even made the heroines of Olympia Dukakis (she in particular) and Illiana Douglas smile. Only telephone conversations between Aniston and Dukakis (in the story they are a daughter and a caring mother, only very often calling her daughter) more than once touched and more than once forced at least a kind smile. Well, Illiana Douglas showed that not all best friends are selfish witches, and can also be a real support and benefit the fate of a close friend. Jay More proved to be such a good guy that it was impossible to understand the choice of Aniston in the form of Kevin Bacon and not this blond man. Calm, balanced, he remains himself and can afford to express all those feelings and emotions that afflict him. Jay Mohr really liked his image in Portrait of Perfection. But Kevin Bacon played not quite a pleasant person, he often had it in his career, but still here he is not a murderer, but only a seedy Don Juan.
Sweet and kind romantic comedy, which can attract the fact that it was played by Jennifer Aniston, while still shooting “Friends”. For a cozy evening is a very suitable film for fans of the genre.
