The soul flies... Soul sings... One of the few films with Ajay Devgan that got me to tears. And it seems that there is nothing unusual at first glance here: the plot is not predictable, typical Bollywood of the mid-90s, calculated by one or two or three. But the performance of the actors was achy. Ajay jumped out of his pants and outplayed himself, although everyone around seemed to do everything to ruin the film. As a result, the film did not become a hit, but Ajay was in 5th place in the charts in 1996, so no comment is required. Khanna's Twinkle is little known to our audience, mainly from the films "Fatal Feast" ("Mela) with Aamir, "Badshah" ("Baadshah) with Shah Rukh. With Ajay, they looked very organic. Twinkle is very much like her mother, Dimple Capadia, not pretty, but with a certain charm. Some people confuse her with Ravina Tandon, they belong to the same type of appearance and from some angles are very similar. But Twinkle has his own manner of play, manner of holding, his own characteristic facial expressions. The interesting actress was, unfortunately, only played little (well, by Bollywood standards, of course), married Akshay Kumar and the writing disappeared. Well, even though I became a producer and, in my opinion, I do design, I just don't remember what. But that's not it now. The film drew them - actors, so the honor and praise, and I want to review only because of the crazy eyes of Ajay, which was so much pain and pain, and because of the shy-timid smile Twinkle. And the script, it seems, was written on the knee and is nothing outstanding.
A police officer (Amrish Puri, again positive) loves his only daughter Kajal (Twinkle Khanna). But the pack of relatives of this officer (Vivek Oberoy – oh, I finally fell in love with him in negative roles, Bindu, Shakti Kapoor) decide to take him to the grave and beat him on the weakest place – on his daughter. Hire the killer Karan (not a pro, but his mother is sick, money is very necessary), but not just hire, but give him the task to pretend to be good to infiltrate the family of a police officer. Well, he plays the hero at his leisure, saves Kajal from bandits and the officer takes him to the house by the same Kajal bodyguard. And everything would be fine, Karan would have soaked the officer's daughter somewhere quiet, but Her Majesty Love intervened. And they fell in love with each other, and all the plans spoiled the villains. And they fell in love so that, uh, Ajay half of the film wandered around with a half-mad look, and half of the film he was hit in the face. That's how they beat me. And so is Ajay, because of his youth, but what the makeup artists did to him - it was necessary to give them a separate prize - for the hands growing from a place below the waist, because even I had not seen such a terrible unnatural makeup for a long time.
So it was painful to look at Ajay. Poor, poor. The poor lover, who, on the one hand, has a passion to gnash to the teeth for Kajal, the passion is such that he chewed on her neck and threw it into the snow in a decolleted dress, and on the other hand, a sick mother who is not quite mentally healthy and needs to be treated, and money is needed. Dilemma. Relatives of the policeman crave Kajal's death, Kajal craves Karan's love, Karan craves, it is already unclear what. As a result, lovers run away from everyone and wander for a long time in the woods, hiding first from bandits, then from their own police dad. Then Kajal comes back, Ajaya is grabbed and put in jail, and beaten, beaten, beaten. It would seem that love is doomed. It's an Indian movie, it can't be easy. The writer still tortures everyone.
What annoyed me throughout the film was Shakti Kapoor with three-colored hair, curve, slob, drool, fu. And of course, a lot of inconsistencies in the script, it has become a tradition. But all this can be endured and endured, as long as the end was happy and happy.
My assessment:
9 out of 10
