You can't play without passion. My way to the film lay, if I may say so, through the short film “Circus of the Butterflies”. In that beautiful tape, the owner of the capito was played by Eduardo Verastegui - a courageous brunette with gray eyes, completely irresistible. I wanted to know where he was still filming. Serious roles were surprisingly few. What kind of people are neglected in Hollywood! Probably more in the course of infantile young men... Although - in advertising shooting the guy is in demand.
This film was shot by peripheral “independent” US companies with the participation of Latin American filmmakers. It is about two employees of the restaurant: a chef and a waitress who found themselves on the streets of New York in the middle of a working day. The film is shot in a narrative manner, events unfold slowly. In the course of the action, the viewer learns about the dramatic circumstances of the life of the main character - a once promising football player. Jose was preparing to sign a contract with a big club, but fate ordered otherwise. Not all is well in the life of a girl.
Good movie. So a little old-fashioned, built on dialogue, touching and even chaste. Many close-ups, beautiful young faces are pleasant to look at. The manner of shooting, however, is quite modern, the dynamism of the big city is felt immediately. But the parents of Jose and his brothers are not modern, according to current concepts, immigrants from Mexico. They live the lives of children, their relationships, observe the customs of hospitality and do not sit down at the dinner table without prayer. Nina, faced with callousness and misunderstanding, seems to warm her soul at their guests, understands that there is still conscience and kindness in life. Beautiful scene on the evening beach: sand, surf, burning lanterns – you seem to see it through the eyes of the heroes, feel the same way they feel.
Overall, it is an interesting, unusual and, most importantly, the right film. I recommend it to everyone.

P.S. “He (Verasteghi) is now actively engaged in charity work. He joins anti-abortion organizations in defense of the unborn child. Well, that explains a lot...
