Passionate love in a tropical paradise I was interested in Calypso from the first series, because love and the sea are two things that always excite and excite my mind. “Scarlet Sails” by A. Greene have been reread by me hundreds of times and are quoted at every opportunity, and “Calypso” with some “similarities” with “Sails” in the plots immediately attracted my attention.
The plot of the series captures from the first seconds. Tragic love for both sisters, then new love on the horizon. But one for two. Who's going to get it? Which sister? That and the whole Calypso series. I loved the passion that saturated the whole spirit of the show. It's felt in every frame. When you look inside, everything boils and boils, just like in the sea, which is an integral part of the story.
I was naturally rooting for my older sister, because she is good, because she has suffered and deserved this love, and because she found Simon first, after all. With whom Simon will remain at the end, you can learn only from the last series, so the rest of the time you tensely watch what is happening and mentally count the "points" of each sister in the fight for love.
Bella, the younger sister, liked me less, but did not cause much negativity. And her nickname “Bella”, which means “beautiful”, she, in my opinion, does not justify. But this, of course, is subjective, because there are no comrades in taste and color.
Simon is a handsome man according to the series, whom it is impossible not to love at first sight - in fact an ordinary average Latin American man. I didn’t see much beauty in him either. And he's soft, too. A future henberry is like giving a drink. I don’t know how you could have fought for him for a long time. I would have given up long ago because the prize is not worth the effort. But, again, it is subjective, because the love of evil, the heart can not command, etc.
I really liked Dr. Lorenzo’s father. A kind, kind old man. A very good father and generally a merciful man. I was immediately impressed with him and never disappointed in any of his actions. He remained himself until the end.
An important role in this complicated story is played by Padre Braulio, who knows all the secrets of each of the main characters. But like a true priest, he does not reveal them to anyone but us, the audience. Well done! He also impressed me.
In general, I appreciated the series very much, because it is about beautiful love, about sacrifice, about the rivalry of two close people, about the ability to forgive, and also the ability to accept the gifts of fate. I was also heartbroken at the sight of the island landscapes, the sea and nature in general. It's indescribable. And that's the only thing worth watching! Musical accompaniment is also at the top, as always with Latinos. Music, beauty and passion are their favorite.
The presence of drama and melodrama in one bottle made the series Calypso interesting for the general public. And if you add the sea and beautiful landscapes, it is ideal for viewing, if you want to aesthetically please yourself.
