You have such beautiful hair. The short film is included in the collection of short stories “Scary stories told at night” (2019).
The maniac's long monologue about hair power and genetic injustice (um, suddenly getting interesting?) has devastating consequences for his victim. All for what? To redistribute the virtues of one to another society. The director, together with the writers, keep the intrigue to the end, although it is not difficult to guess about the main action that is about to happen. It’s very hard and merciless.
Here is an example of a typical “black” anecdote, which does not cause homeric laughter, but rather a dull grin (if you do not take too seriously what is shown on the screen). Smiling is an emotion that fades too fast. The philosophizing of a maniac is too long a tip to the twist. These two aspects, when combined with each other, ultimately cause nothing but a shrug.
Adam O’Brien didn’t make it so that there was anything else in the work besides mockery. As a viewer and reviewer, I also did not get to feel what was happening.
I think we're even.
