The King of Horrors is in business! Even shooting short clips requires exposure and effort. Rob Zombie, as you can see, always had the habits of a horror director and even before his big theatrical debut released clips for his own songs, which can rightfully be considered full-fledged short films.
The song "Zombie Girl" or "Living Dead Girl" in 1998 already sounded in the introduction of the film "Chucky's Bride", and a year later, Mr. Zombie decided to create his own video sequence for the track. That was great! These fleeting three minutes show us that the future film director will tirelessly exploit in his full-length films – the themes of the living dead, horror attraction, gloomy sexuality and, of course, mass references to old horror films that popularized this genre.
The clip is completely stylized as a silent movie of the early XX century. The scenery is simple, the image is monochrome, but changes the main color in accordance with the emotional color of certain moments, subtitles explain some exclamations, although they coincide with the text of the song. Actors depicting viewers who came to see a dark performance react very violently – all by old-school standards. As the author and performer of the song, Rob Zombie starred here in the title role - this is a real connoisseur, a king and simply the lord of fear, who admires the general fright and the very zombie girl depicted by the future wife of the director - Sheri Moon. She is beautiful in her ghostly image!
This short clip is full of horror. Beautiful and wonderful.
