At first glance, it may seem, based on watching the trailer and footage for the film, that "The Road" is another independent film that has flown through many film festivals on drugs, human trafficking and other topics in Colombia. There’s a lot to talk about here.
Surprisingly, the film is not who it claims to be. Photojournalist Avery recently received an award for outstanding and cruel shots taken in different parts of the world, and here, she is given the opportunity to fly and snap the camera to Colombia.
And there, for no reason, the missionaries accompanying her decide to play dangerous games. And from that moment there are big doubts about the concept of the film itself, as if the director promised one thing, but in fact comes out another. No motivation or causal link to what is happening on the screen, no explanation of the behavior of the characters. What is going on?
No, it's clear what's going on. The Hunger Games in the Colombian jungle, but it doesn't seem like it's inappropriate, it doesn't fit in at all with the beginning of this film. As a result, an extremely weak film, which miraculously reached overseas audiences.
