Excellent (and unusual!) choice for New Year holidays Surprisingly cute British musical, given the modest budget and the scale of the production, which at least deserves the attention of a sophisticated audience. This is a breath of fresh air on the New Year holidays, when all the traditional, obliterated to holes films are getting tired. A fresh look at the celebration of Christmas in a provincial British town, a kind of cheerful mixture of music, celebration and zombie apocalypse.
As correctly noted in the next review, the musical numbers are very well set (in this regard, I recommend you to immediately find an expanded version where all the musical scenes are saved in full). Just be prepared for the fact that the first half of the film was much more fun and lively than the second. The main problem of the picture is that the creators, who so effortlessly managed to create a wonderful musical banter in the first hour, eventually slide into the drama - and completely focus on it, killing the whole "fan".
As a result: the picture lacks integrity, but the musical numbers compensate for all the mistakes of the director.
