Blood as salvation Vampire films are not new in modern cinema, but in this vein this topic has not yet been presented. And it seems that the heroes are not vampires at all, are not afraid of daylight, garlic or crucifixion, but live on the expense of someone else’s blood. And yet, despite the author’s attempt to bring some fresh stream to the beaten topic, it failed. There are many inaccuracies and sagging moments in the plot. Watching the film, the viewer is increasingly asking questions, the answers to which never get. It remains unclear, for example, the etymology of the disease, its development. It is clear that the basis is the flight of fantasy of the author of the script Gils Daoust, but we see only a general plan, without specific details and their manifestations. It is not quite logical and the behavior of the characters in a number of moments.
Actors play quite average, without enthusiasm and a zest that would catch on. Adam Hass tried to depict suffering on his face, but the whole film it looked monotonous, there was no dynamics, the development of the hero. Watching him constantly twitch - a consequence of the "contagion" - it quickly tires, and at a certain point begins to irritate. Even the guest star Misha Barton did not stretch the position, especially since she was allocated only a cameo role exactly one minute at the beginning. Her face on the cover of the poster is at least strange. Apparently, Roxy Sheen tried to use her name in the promotion of the film, but the effect turned out the opposite - disappointment.
One of the main problems of the picture, in my opinion, is the lack of dynamics. Everything that was shown could easily be included in a 15-minute short film, but the plot was excessively stretched. Hence, a lot of empty dialogues, pauses that could be filled with a good picture. Several times the operator picked up good plans, but basically the whole film was accompanied by absolutely emotionless faces, or darkened corridors of the premises.
