Do what no one cares about, do it long, become a master.

You know, each of us has a lot of unnecessary accomplishments. It's not sur, it's not humor, it's not trolling. It is just worth getting to know a person closer, after which all his secret achievements will necessarily surface, to which no one would care otherwise.
If I were asked, I would say that this film is about insanity, about madmen (or one instance of insanity)... but then I could be counted among this cohort. Everyone has doubtful achievements on the verge of madness.
I now consider pure madness the desire of some of the richest people (we all know who I am)... to soar up and fly to live on Mars. We all know the story of Matt Damon and his potato garden. Elon, what are you doing? There is a lot of land in Russia, for example, here plant, live... develop Russian virgin soil... why do you need Martian soil? What is...?
So the hero of our film is akin to the Mask. It conquers the tops, to which no one cares in ordinary life (unless you are an Instagram user who can spend hours flipping through tapes with outlandish pictures and places, which all of you will not have time to visit in your lifetime). No one cares about free solo either. Could you name a dozen... at least three... at least one representative of this sport? I doubt something. But we like to see madness. There is also a documentary and on it a similar film about the climb to Everest, where a group of madmen climb to the top, losing comrades, losing limbs in frostbite ... for... for... the only word that comes to mind is “nothing.” But it's nothing. It's okay. In one form or another, we all go mad, go through fire and water, stick ourselves in the wheels, pierce vital tires and persevere to restore your life car, then it again break on the next in principle safe area.
After watching this movie (perhaps the hero will die in the 5th, 10th, 1st minute or in the penultimate)... we are constantly waiting for the same. We wait for this madness of the hero, waiting for someone to die. And we will show it (I will not spoil how and who exactly). But it's terrible. Just as people go to face death, they know that the odds of survival are 50/50 or less. And it's all done on camera. And all this is connected with the brain (not for nothing the footage from the MRI of the hero is shown). I kind of watched a show about people with perversions. So it has been scientifically shown that perversions of any orientation can be associated with the degradation of the brain (including), that is, with changes in various parts of the brain. Our brain is unique. It is he who basically defines a person. And in our protagonist, he is truly unique, requires danger, requires concentration, requires reaching new deadly heights. And if you climb one impossible cliff, then the next must be even cooler (even more deadly). It's also called growing up. So boys, playing with toy cars, gradually grow up and transplanted into adult cars (more dangerous than toys)... someone goes further ... exceeds the speed ... becomes a racer ... pilot of Formula 1, etc. More and more, higher and higher, more difficult, more dangerous, more deadly ... someone is constantly tingling.
But it's a lot of words. I'll note another. The film is excellent. In a limited time period of the film, there are some stories from the hero’s childhood, his family life with a stretch, beautiful footage of nature, the history of “sport” (free solo), some remarks and experiences of secondary heroes – and all this against the background of the main action. And what kind of action and how in general make such films ... watch this movie to find out.
I note from myself that this film is still worth watching only adults, it is better that you are already 20 years old. Such tapes can slightly push young people to wrong actions. Well, that's what I watch from my movie bell.
When I watched the docks about Everest, I did not leave the question of why they do it and how terrible it is to freeze in the mountains.
But here is the doc about the feat of Alex Honnold - the first person who without any help climbed the 3,000-foot mountain.
You give your son a rock climber, and he will invent something!
Shooting the mountain, the nature around the drones is amazing!
Like any documentary, this is a leisurely narrative, a story about a family, his girlfriend and everyday trifles. All the fanatics are almost equally driven by their hobby, it is at least smart enough to back off if something went wrong. And he goes the same route over and over again, honing skills to automatism, because on ' demonstration performance' there is no room for error. Life is at stake.
The ascent itself is the very end of the film, but it's too beautiful to be true, I still didn't believe he could, wouldn't break, right leg wouldn't let him down. I agree with the operator ' how can you look at it? '
Now this guy is at the top of my rating of cool guys. Before him, it was Philippe Petit, a French street tightrope walker known for his spectacular performances at height, who gained worldwide fame after his passage on the morning of August 7, 1974, on a tightrope stretched between the North and South Twin Towers of the World Trade Center in New York.

I can’t believe that this is possible without insurance and for one take, when an injury prevents, a girl freely climbing into your van, camera tracking, obligations to sponsors. The route, the mood, the focus, Uli Shtek is in front of you, and you have to be a warrior. This is a challenge to your fears, it should be your path to perfection. And the less people know, the better.
First of all, I want to say that I tried very hard to perceive this movie as the work of many people on a quality product. However, after 10 minutes of viewing, it became very difficult for me not to forget about the prism of the screen. That's how well the movie chains you to the subject.
I begin to evaluate the main character – Alex Honnold – more as a friend or even as myself: am I ready to pursue my dream with such persistence, knowing what kind of spiritual burden I will have to carry with me?
And the film very well demonstrates to us every ton of this emotional burden: close friends, beloved girl, simple human desire to survive. At one point, you just realize that no one can stand such pressure, so the only way out of the situation is to just leave all the feelings somewhere deep in your heart. And Alex does not even need to make efforts, since since childhood he did not know how to express his feelings and was unsociable.
The only way for the main character to get emotion was to overcome the mind incomprehensible obstacles. And finally, the film brings us to perhaps the most difficult obstacle in the life of Alex-mountain El Cap. The creators very competently approached the presentation of the obstacle: we recognize every deadly area of the future ascent, which means that we understand the entire risk of the bet.
There was a lot to do with the filmmakers. Their task was not to touch the camera from any angle to Alex’s cold mind. After all, once he realizes that someone looks at him and worries, he will immediately fly down. Therefore, armed with telescopic lenses and remote-controlled cameras, the operators did a chic job. However, if a climber does not need to know about those experiences that reign on solid ground, the director should always remember them. Therefore, the ascent video was constantly accompanied by watching the crew, whose exclamations of surprise and shock exactly repeated ours. Everyone understood that Tom Cruise did not climb to the top, and Robert Zemeckis did not shoot him on green.
The ascent is made by a simple man, of flesh and blood. And watching this little man on a huge mountain leaves his mouth open with amazement until the very end.
Isn't that what a good documentary should do?
The madness of the brave. . . This film is as carved out of the rock as its protagonist and his friends. He is so tightly knocked down in his directing, dramaturgy, camera work, selection of all the characters that this is really woo-oo! What is good about documentary films is that they are almost always real. This film is absolutely no exception. The main character, an outstanding climber, absolutely honestly and without embellishment tells about his not the simplest life, his worldview and attitude to the world - and also not the most banal. Not super-duper original and super-unorthodox, no, but different from what nine out of ten people have. You look at him, the hero, and no matter how you agree with some of his words, thoughts and actions, but you just automatically imbue a genuine respect for this extremely whole guy. Let his motivation be indisputable, let there be something childish in his goals, but rightly so, all this is of secondary importance in comparison with respect for the desire of a person for his seemingly unrealizable dream. In a broad sense, and here I am absolutely sure that the authors did not set such a goal, the film shows the quintessence of all that desire for something previously unknown and unfathomable that forces humanity to move forward and progress from the primitive to the inconceivable-complex, to achieve something new. In this, I believe, the film is simply extremely metaphorical, for which a separate plus in karma to its creators. Talking about the beauty of a movie that shows mountains is strange. It goes without saying that the mountains themselves cannot but be beautiful. But the nuances of the ascent itself, simple everyday trifles, barely noticeable glimpses of the characters’ emotions betray the beauty of a different level, more implicit, subtle, more intimate, gentle plane of perception. The ability to show it is a great thing, of course. The authors were able to. Well, a separate plus can be noted that the authors did not slide into a purely mechanical climbing manual for geeks, on the one hand, and a purely melodramatic story on the other, finding the golden, in my opinion, middle ground. All in all, it's a great movie. Personally, after watching it, I am very sorry that I am not engaged in climbing. 9 out of 10 Original
Stunningly beautiful documentary about Alex Honnold - the first climber to conquer without insurance California Mount El Capitan.
The action of the film takes place slowly, telling the viewer about the beginning of Alex’s life path. In this segment, we learn about his family, whose youth greatly influenced the outlook and attitude to the life of the main character. Outwardly reminiscent of Rafael Nadal, Alex is the epitome of calm and serenity. It is like a magnet to climb a mountain, as impregnable and strong. Director Jimmy Chin, who includes several years of Alex’s life in this film, accurately conveys every movement of the eyes, fingers and facial expressions of all the members of his team who accompany and help him on various climbs. A separate line, in my opinion, is the disclosure of the relationship between Alex and his girlfriend Sunny. Supporting this strange, living an amazing dream guy in all aspirations, while giving him the care he knows little about - this cheerful girl becomes a starting point, a support for Alex.
Undoubtedly, this film has won two of the most prestigious awards in its genre is worthy of attention. It shows simple values of life, faith in their work. A film about overcoming yourself, motivating for real feats, proving that if you set a goal and stubbornly follow it, then everything will definitely work out.
