I liked the movie. Yes, he is somewhat naive and stupid, but at the same time extremely entertaining. The father-daughter relationship, which first met at a mature age for a child, aroused interest and desire to watch the film. And the movie itself without a special semantic load, to at least a little rest the brain.
According to the plot of the picture, Vadim, the owner of the retail chain, is only interested in money, he is used to achieving everything he wants by any means. The main trump card of the hero was charisma, smile and charm. A film about how a short trip can turn the picture of the world. If you want to laugh, it's not here. This is a naive and fabulous movie, but this is sometimes its beauty.
Actually, it's a movie for home viewing. There is no desire to go to the movies, but at home, in a warm family circle, a nice thing! The film is light and incredibly positive. Although it looks like a comedy, there were no hilarious episodes. There were some funny moments, but there was no laughter on my part, a smile at most. The plot itself is predictable and completely devoid of originality. The final of the film, based on the construction of the film, as it should be. I would be surprised if GG had made the opposite decision at the end of the plane. So everything is familiar and banal, no zest and innovation.
As for the twerk, which was spent a lot of time in the film, in my opinion, this is not quite a school dance. This 'shaking' and in the show Dancing causes me bewilderment and irritation, there is simply no beauty of dance there. And here the kids (at least in the movie) are doing it!
Nevertheless, the picture is quite family, pleasant to the eye and quite deep in semantic content. Viewing flies unnoticed, boring and incomprehensible episodes at a minimum, the emotions after the film are the most positive and kind - for all articles a good film. The actors' play in places has shaken up, but it is not critical.
As a result, a simple film with the star Vladimir Vdovichenkov, which you can quite watch and get real pleasure from watching, and you can also lose sight of it. Nothing new, but nice and beautiful old. An elegant picture, which is very interesting to watch, and you can scold, but you do not want to!

Three things never come back: time, word, opportunity. Confucius
The girl Alina (Valentina Lyapina) decided to side with her unfairly offended classmates, which finally upset relations with the head teacher. She decides to express her position with the help of a flash mob - to dance twerking with the whole school in the yard instead of a lesson. But how do you organize it? And then, suddenly her father (Vladimir Vdovichenkov), who disappeared for fifteen years, and now for no reason decided to make friends with her daughter and help her in her undertaking, suddenly declares perfect.
Bright feature film, harmoniously complemented by amazing panoramas of Novosibirsk. I like that the film takes place there, not in Moscow. It seems to me that it was the atmosphere of the provincial town that was able to influence the fate of each of the main characters in this way, that they decided to completely change their lives.
The theme of Obi, traced throughout the film, is expressed in river walks, a restaurant on the water, night gatherings on the shore and the water crossing, and fully reflects the atmosphere of the Siberian city and its simple, kind and open residents.
“In the early 90’s, when our country lay in ruins, everyone liked it” – casually taken out of context quote of the national leader.
The main feature of "Dear Dad" is revealed quite quickly - the film is not very friendly with reality. He is the product of people who grew up on the tasteless export of American cinema of the 90s and believe that those flat, simple but bright comedies about the interpersonal relationships of financially independent people are a model of “family” cinema. It is especially comical when they transfer this to the Russian expanses – there is no shame in the fact that someone wants to embellish reality, but at least there should be some reality to embellish. After all, the story of a wealthy successful businessman, whose property by chance can go to his son in the Indian tribe ... oh, sorry, no, it’s not from here — just to his daughter from Novorossiysk. With whom he now has to communicate, to help get a driver's license ... oh, no, we're driving more difficult and it's also not from here, here we just have joint lessons twerking. You know, in Russia they like to dance it against the background of all kinds of memorials - very... youth! This is an obvious story for everyone!
But even forgiving this vacuum, you can stumble upon the following problem - the film is not too logical, even according to the laws of its plastic world. That is, literally all local conflicts are sucked out of the finger and could be solved simply by lazy conversation, because the characters have no complaints about each other, they have no conflict of interest in terms of money, and moreover, their relationship could well go well if they just sat down and talked. But the film needs conflict, and so for an hour and a half you will watch as a super-successful super-megabusinessman comes up with moral barriers in a conversation with his teenage daughter and ex-love, because it is so important for him to get something that no one is going to claim. Everything could be resolved in one dialogue. But no, you will once again watch this most obvious scenario for an hour and a half, because as you know, nothing new genre cinema was not invented, all the plots are written, moves are recorded, poems are read, etc.
Okay, not everything is bad here, the movie has advantages - sometimes it is good in its genre clichés, and no matter how secondary and stupid they are, sometimes they succeed, although this does not always happen. Quite rarely, to be honest. But at one point, it’s superb, and perhaps the only thing worth noting in Dear Dad at all is its ending. She's infinitely stupid and idiotic, but she's just as funny and cool. It’s predictable almost from the start, it’s been handled and it seems like it’s going to be a bit worse than average, drawn and tortured like the rest of the movie, but all of a sudden, for some reason, all of the mediocrity turns into a pretty spectacular clown. It's not a model, but it's exactly what movies like this should be if you're going to vent your nostalgia for the '90s.
"Dear Dad" is a film that doesn't claim to be original or of high artistic value, but it has a highlight. He's kind. That is exactly what attracts and smooths out flaws or frankly weak spots of the script, this is compensated by the atmosphere that develops when viewing. I could casually say that it is bad - but I won't, maybe it just fell on my heart that I don't want to scold. And yes, it's not about family values, it's more about being a normal person.
The plot is trivial – there is a businessman who lies and manipulates people to become richer and succeed. Workaholic and stronghold of machismo, with a touch of justified adventure. And when he is ready to pull off a grand bargain, unexpected difficulties arise. To overcome them, he will have to step on his throat, overestimate the people around him and make a choice. The protagonist will face difficulties of understanding, with his past, and through overcoming his ego will make the right choice.
Watching the film was exciting for me, I was waiting for it and there was a fear of disappointment, the provincial past struggled with the capital’s present and the contrast was a reason for smiles. The conflict of generations and attempts to charm his own daughter, for the purpose of manipulation, also gave food for humor. I especially note the originality of humor associated with the personality of the actor who played the main character, allusions with “Brigade” and “Boomer” and of course children’s spontaneity to the problems of the adult world.
Vladimir Vdovichenkov, who played an uncharacteristic comedy role, pleased (with his face only bandits to play the same), this feeling he caught the edge when he did not replay the character, and remained “live” on the screen. At first, I wasn’t sure I could do it. Irina Pegova was charming and direct, although her heroine remained not fully disclosed (but there are gaps in the script), she was able to give a vivid image. The same can be said about the heroes performed by Vladimir Sychev and Nikolai Schreiber, very charismatic were the characters of Fisherman and Bogatyr. Separately praise Valentina Lyapin, who played the daughter of the main character, she managed to play the bitterness of resentment in the end, very natural for the ending.
Yes, the film sometimes rolled into buffoonery, but it did not spoil, but the inconsistencies of the script were, and sometimes cut eyes, but I will positively appreciate the general message of the kindness of the atmosphere.
“Dear Dad” is an easy and pleasant comedy melodrama about family values ready to please many fans of Russian cinema. There are humorous situations, touching scenes of melodramatic retreats, and, of course, a motivational component that brings together different people, including friends, colleagues and family members.
In the story, a respected businessman is in a difficult position. At one time, wanting to protect his business, he rewrote it to his mother. Years later, the woman dies, but before she dies, she bequeaths the company not to her son, as expected, but to the only granddaughter with whom the main character has never met. And now, to return the money and business, the man must go to the other side of the country, meet the girl and somehow persuade her to abandon the inheritance. And all nothing, but the gradual acquaintance of the father and daughter leads to unexpected consequences, putting the hero before the most difficult choice in his life.
Of course, at first glance, it may seem that the plot plot is a bit like the story from the movie “Billion”, where the hero also recorded his business for another, and after his death, instead of money, he received a kukish with butter. But this is where all the similarities, fortunately, end, so further events unfold in a completely different way. Hiding at first with greedy intentions, the main character goes through a difficult path, which ultimately leads to an understanding of himself and his own life. He asks questions, he is tormented by doubts, and he has to take an important step to ultimately decide on what path to go next, because not only money and conscience are at stake, but also the lives of people dear to him.
The authors slowly approach the disclosure of the characters of the main characters, giving each a certain time, but only one of all significant changes is experienced by himself, namely the father-businessman. Although, if you look at it, the writers had no trouble making other characters more controversial, difficult and mysterious. But in the end, all the characters turned out to be overly open and understandable from the first minutes, so no surprises should be expected about this.
If we talk about acting, then first of all I want to note a good casting and competently worked out external images of the characters. And thanks to lively and exciting dialogue, the actors perfectly perform the task, giving out emotions at every opportunity. Therefore, all the characters, like bright stars, fill a very banal and predictably dull plot with light, which can no longer but please, especially if the picture itself does not stand out for its special originality.
As for the production itself, in general, it looks good, but for genre cinema, to be honest, the picture could be better. Sometimes it seems that the project was shot no longer for a wide distribution, but for some television channel. Therefore, once again we come to understand that simplicity is not always good for the audience. Sometimes it is still necessary to complicate the characters, saturate the picture and weight the story, in order to eventually catch the audience with something. But in this film, none of this except the presence of good actors, unfortunately.
And yet, despite the existing claims, the picture is perceived very positively, since there is an atmosphere of love and easy joy in it. It is thanks to this that the film leaves behind more positive emotions and motivates the audience exclusively for good deeds towards their family, relatives and friends, and this, as they say, is expensive. Have a good time.
“Dear Dad” or “What is the most important thing in life?”
The best time of the day, film lovers!
From the dialogue in the episode of the film: “Wouldn’t she give you the Company without this lie?”
And we have today in the menu a new movie rental - domestic melodrama, comedy "Dear Dad".
A wonderful light positive film like no other successfully ending the hot summer and opening a new autumn season. When it is still quite warm, but the relaxation of the July-August holidays gave way to new worries, new impressions, new meetings and dreams.
Classic still in the canonical “Pretty Woman” the main character is a successful businessman Vadim, deftly walking on his heads and manipulating everything and everyone around in the name of the cherished prize – money. Not just money, but a lot of money. Undoubtedly, the wonderful work of Vladimir Vdovichenkov, who certainly will not remain in the memory of film lovers as an actor of one picture and one genre.
The convincing Valentina Lyapina in the role of the daughter Alina left many years ago. What should a teenager, who is already having a difficult transition to adulthood, feel in such a situation of a sudden “resurrection” of a long-lost parent? Alina, I think, turned out extremely reliable.
The main deal in the life of businessman Vadim or the notorious family values that have long been forgotten and thrown away in the “rat race” for money: what is more important? The question is eternal, like life itself.
What will Vadim choose?
“What if everything I’ve done over the past 15 years is stupid?”
“Well, not all, that’s for sure!” – suddenly soothes and gives him a thin girl’s shoulder, miraculously acquired by him after 15 years of separation, once abandoned daughter.
My recommendation is to go. If the romance is still alive. If the daily pursuit of profit, mortgage payments, gas station and supermarket prices, depressive news blocks and talk shows are not the only meaning of your life. This movie is for you then.
