The plot of the film takes place in the country house of a couple who invited former classmates - "very smart programmers" to their weekends. Someone buys domains, someone deals with secret things, but the most secret things are handled by Rafa, the owner of the house.
During the film, he scares his best friend’s wife, admits to criminal activity, distrusts AI, and calls himself an observer. A very mysterious and dangerous guy. Tension at dinner peaks when Rafa tells his friends and people he sees for the first time that he has decrypted classified documents on the dark web and now has an app on his phone that shows the future, but only 30 seconds ahead.
It should be noted right away, the film is normal, it does not hurt to watch. Although it's more of a thriller than a horror. Mostly the film is filled with conversation and discussion, the atmosphere is tense, yes, but no horror, physical or emotional disgust.
The plot is simple and exciting, the action takes place in one location, with pleasant flowers. The end of the film is surprising, positioning it as an open ending with hope for the second part. After watching fifteen minutes, think about the twist shown and savor the options - this is good.
But there are questions for actors and revealing characters.
Actors overplayed. Either they had a wild desire to prove themselves, or they loved their work so much that it was impossible to contain this dramatic fervor, or they were so eager to show that people in anxious situations are hysterical. For a film of this kind, it would be better to observe an atmosphere of secrecy, prudence and tension.
The main disappointment is the character of Rafa. He looked like a mysterious genius who knew something. But in the middle of the film, a classmate was more resourceful, and then the panic in his eyes became comparable to the reaction of a girl who did not use something more complicated than Facebook. But with an open ending, this change in behavior can be justified. Or not, depending on how you think the movie ended.
Strangely, I can't even remember the faces of some of the heroes right now. Therefore, it seems that the caste is selected in the same way. Each hero was given one emotion: skepticism, desire for profit, stupidity, determination. It would be better to introduce fewer characters, but make them more complex and multifaceted. Then there would be depth and empathy.

The versatility of horror films allows filmmakers to choose a variety of techniques by which they cause fear in the viewer. Password House is devoid of the usual horror elements: screamers, blood and death. However, he copes with the important task of this genre - creates a tense atmosphere of waiting for something terrible and unpleasant.
Like many other horror films, Password: House is built around the fears that hover in society in modern realities. In this case, the cornerstone is artificial intelligence and human paranoia about its potential. The main characters of the film are people with high intelligence, whose conversations are able to keep the viewer’s attention (perhaps with the exception of specialists from the IT field who may consider them naive). Anyway, the idea is very interesting. The ending of the film is also not pleasant. To sum up, Password: House is a worthy horror film that has coped with the task thanks to a well-written script. At the same time, the lack of screeners and other tired clichés, although surprising (given the traditional features of the genre), but only benefited the film.
I absolutely absolutely hate the work of the Spaniards, almost all their art - by the way, except for the nationals, I remembered my favorite cultural figures, surprisingly almost all were not entirely Hispanics: 90% are Catalans and one Basque (the magnificent, stunning director Alex de la Iglesia). But there are exceptions to every rule, like this movie.
The feeling of being filmed by a fetishist programmer is as much of a computer theme as the food in Chinese or Korean movies. Heroes are very (very) long snort on this topic, and those who do not scroll in the software - will not penetrate. The plot itself (and the horror film) is also built on this, sometimes even some schizophrenia arises in your head: do you like modern technology or hate it? Or both?
The budget of the film was like Euro 100 - no one is known in the frame, the action takes place in virtually one room, and suspense is based on all sorts of paranoid theories a la channel ren-tv, but looks surprisingly cheerful and exciting, especially since sometimes really interesting topics like a monstrous technological leap are touched upon.
The very idea of the danger of high technology is so ancient that it is difficult to remember where it began. In the cinema - it's intelligent androids and machines that took over the world from the films of the eighties. And the “smart” tank from the Soviet super cartoon “Polygon” (and the eponymous story of Hansovsky from the 60s) and pancake... some humorous stories by Robert Sheckley from the 50s (such as “The Slipper Mutiny” and the like), so the topic is not new, but the Spaniards have revealed it as much as possible in everyday life and with a bunch of references to real events, personalities and other things that the film is a plus.
So as a horror with an original and unusual concept, the film can be recommended, and even technofetishists - just a balm for the soul.
When the screenwriter smoked the whole budget. . .
How ' to see ' a movie?! Or at least forget it quickly?
To say that the film is terrible is to say nothing. Absolutely disgusting. Actors' game?! Forget it. In this 'masterpiece' you won't see it. I have never seen a more dramatic fainting in my life!
Plot?! What is it about?! About the fact that a group of programmers decided to play with the app on the phone, but... What about ' but'? And here it is. How can the camera of the phone transmit to the screen what has not yet happened? The future, yeah. But the phone itself, like the hand that holds it, is in the real. Okay. This is all thanks to the app, which initially showed only 30 seconds ahead. But a programmer wouldn’t be a programmer if he didn’t go through the code. Heroes see the end of the world, aha...
I know what the filmmakers wanted. A kind of film with a touch of morality ' Black Mirror'. And then they made a huge miscalculation. What is the good of the series ' Black Mirror'? This is a possible development of the future of mankind with a certain development of digital technologies. This film is about our time. But we will be ' shuffling' an app that shows the future and... Ta-dam! Artificial intelligence. Undoubtedly evil artificial intelligence, which, for some reason, is not parallel to the group of people playing with this application.
What can we say about this if the app showing the future is GLASSING? Someone had enough brains to create such a cool prog, but here to fix the hands from the ass grew?!
In general, the target audience of this film consists of those people who glue the webcam so that they are not watched, who are afraid ' wiretaps' in watsappa, fans of Ren-tv and foil caps. That's who this movie was made for. And after all, an interesting film could have come out if it wasn't for a bunch 'NO'.
The whole movie was sitting there waiting for the interesting... But no. Bummer. Boring, boring, stupid. We would like to make science fiction – we could make a normal film in this genre on the basis of this plot. But the pseudo-realism that they tried to build into the plot only ruined everything.
The bottom line is, it's a shame to put this film to zero. Minus. Choose your own number.
I don’t understand the positive reviews ????? I’m a fan of thrillers, horrors, etc., but this hat didn’t go absolutely ?????????????????????????????????????? ?
Of the merits of the film, first, I would like to pay attention to the sound series, this monotonous hum is very well set at the right moments, which, together with the atmosphere created by dialogue and circumstances, causes a feeling of anxiety and anxiety. It is worth noting that a similar principle of sound accompaniment was used in the TV series Chernobyl and the film It Comes at Night.
The plot of the film at one moment leads to the idea that artificial intelligence is a god who, knowing the past and the future, edits the development of the universe, each time setting certain parameters for the past (present) through the moment in which the main characters are located. Although, I must say that the topic with artificial intelligence really rises as if suddenly and raw and as if imposed. The film is also good in that it creates the effect of the presence of a huge force that can destroy the principles of the universe or distort and change, but not as it was in the film “Connection”, but in a new way much more terrible. Of course, such circumstances, which persist in the future, cannot even allow the existence of a human mind that could be aware of what happened, so everything boils down to what is observed in the pre-final and turns out to be an ordinary “badtrip”.
As a result, it turned out to be a good horror, perhaps this genre should be called existential horror, since it uses something like the fear of going crazy. This is a horror movie.
The film is based on the classics of the world theater: the unity of place and action. All the actors are sitting at the table, pulling out their phones (yes, I even thought they were the same ones who shot The Perfect Strangers 39). Seemingly easy to stage the technique: to gather everyone in one room and distribute the text, in fact, you can not even look at the screen, and listen like an audiobook. But in these conditions, everything falls on the shoulders of the actors, who must ' play ' all the circumstances offered and not ' replay ' as in the theater, attract the viewer with their play, and not only with the plot. And in my opinion, it worked out ... This excitement of programmers who plunged into conspiracy theory, when they moved from the banal guessing of passwords, just as playfully, to something incomprehensible and simple, but very complex.
Yes, the plot is simple to banality, the ending is as easy to guess as the characters of each other’s passwords, especially if you are a sophisticated viewer. And this insight very spoils the impression of the movie, here you need to try to abstract from the baggage of knowledge and enjoy watching. The actors play, and they play very well.
The rating of the film was very surprising. In the middle of the show, it seemed like a joke or a mistake. Because you can't underestimate this movie so much. The plot is built around an interesting and relevant problem. Perhaps the topic of artificial intelligence and cyber security is already beaten, but this picture provides a new approach and vision of the situation, which would seem impossible.
The dialogues are built competently and, most importantly, extremely plausible. Reading reviews about the “unreality of such difficult topics at the table”, you begin to think that with the modern generation, apparently, everything is very bad. After all, for example, my friends and I do not discuss how, who and where rested, we are interested in delving into the problems of the universe, conspiracy theories, the possibilities of mankind, the future of technology, variations of past events, etc. Given that the characters of the film are programmers (good programmers, by the way), the topic for conversation was chosen more than real.
The acting was pleasantly impressed. I know what I’m talking about, because lately, it’s hard to find a picture in which ALL actors would really get used to the role and play “to the fullest”. I applaud the cast standing up.
The film does not claim to be an Oscar, but is worthy of viewing for people over 25 who have not lost the ability to think about what surrounds them and what it can lead to.
Again, an intriguing Spanish thriller. As in Perfect Strangers, one room, a group of friends, and once again fun are gradually replaced by increasing tension and in this case fear. Fear for your future and present. And the open end leaves food for thought... If I had the opportunity to look into the future for 30 seconds, maybe I would see you like me for this review.
Incredibly brilliant film, in my opinion. With a minimum of scenery and no gram of computer graphics and special effects. In suspense from start to finish! I only saw this when I saw the movie Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel. Bravo! If there are still writers and directors capable of making films that you want to talk about, for the genre of cinema, all is not lost. In a series of numerous soap operas, action movies, a zombie film, as well as the sequels-prequels and rescreening that got to the end. "The plot is the main thing! It has always been and always will be! (Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel)
Someone would not want to be able to look into their own future for a while and find out what awaits them ahead. Partly this question lies in the field of fiction, and yet there are many scientific theories that say that it is quite possible to tear the temporary fabric. Of course, moving from one point of time to another is still something completely unimaginable, but there is a possibility of looking into the future, or, say, into the past through a special screen, and this may require much less energy and other costs than the physical movement of an object through spatial mazes. Many scientists really believe that the probability of a temporary break is quite possible and sooner or later people will be able to subdue it. Someone believes that such experiments can be carried out now or will occur in the near future thanks to the efforts of a specialist of the Large Hadron Collider, colliding particles at an unprecedented speed, which can occur not only an ejection of antimatter, but other physical phenomena that in their dreams could be only Albert Einstein. There is also the possibility that questions of time and space lie in the field of studying black holes, and if we are able to safely pass through them some technical apparatus, then we will have a chance to become real Lords of the Universe, although with a greater probability this can lead to a catastrophe of such proportions that in comparison with it the biblical Apocalypse may seem a cute empty space. One way or another, discussions about time travel and accurate predictions will be relevant for a long time, and perhaps they will never subside, and therefore it is quite interesting to look at the reasoning of people who seem to have really faced such an opportunity and do not really know what to expect from it. Thanks to director-debutant Manolo Munguiye and his co-author Sergio Martinez, we saw a very remarkable chamber thriller “Password: House”, which is quite enough to speculate on very serious topics and draw certain conclusions that can be far ambiguous, but still attract attention.
So, the plot of the film takes us to the secluded country house of Rafa (Ruben Serrano) and Lucia (Christina Raya), where very soon should gather classmates of the hosts, each of whom is related to the development of modern computer technology. Friends have not seen each other for a long time, so they definitely have something to discuss. Among the guests is also David (Rock Esquius), as well as his girlfriend Sarah (Diana Roig), who expected to have a great time and relax. When everyone who was supposed to have gathered in the house, the characters sit down at a table in the living room and, following spatial secular conversations, begin to raise more serious questions. Since all the friends gathered in the company have their own views on philosophy, life and technology, Rafa decides to show his erudition and divides his comrades into two teams, one of which includes only himself and his friend David. The purpose of entertainment is to identify the security passwords of friends by answering a few simple questions. It seems that there is nothing unusual in this and really, because the game with passwords was just an introduction to something more intriguing. According to the assurances of the owner of the house, he was able to find in the bowels of the secret network archives application, installing which on the smartphone, there is an opportunity to look into the future, but only for 30 seconds. It is quite natural that at first the friends took Rafa’s story as an inappropriate joke, but he himself is fully confident in his words and proves in practice that it is possible to look into the future and this in turn opens up unprecedented opportunities for humanity. But with the power that it is possible to expand and expand the range of an application in 30 seconds, moral issues are on the agenda, because interference with the natural course of events can lead to far from positive consequences. And among the close company of friends, debates, persuasion and panic also begin, because if you look at your smartphone at least once and see the future, it becomes a manic idea that directly affects your actions and can turn into a psychological test of stability, which will not pass all.
It is necessary to understand that Password: House is not a classic horror game, as it may seem because of the genre to which it is often attributed. Rather, it is a local, hermetic thriller with elements of psychological research, unexpected revelations in the style of early M. Night Shyamalan and a slight fantastic bias that delicately clings to global issues, concluding them mainly in those events that occur in the living room of the house here and now. There are no special frightening moments here a priori, and the development of the narrative takes place slowly, from which viewers expecting something swift, crazy and wild can be disappointed, since very much depends on our mood. If you compare “Password: House” with other similar in style films, it is similar to “Perfect Strangers”, as well as “The Signal”, where the characters also sat down at the table and solved problems that were laid in a sophisticated script. But if the same “Perfect Strangers” and “The Signal” looked from beginning to end thoughtful, not forgetting about the little things and in the end bringing all the storylines together, then “Password: House” has certain problems in order to withstand the narrative in a single key and not to rush from one extreme to the other. But the creators, apparently, wanted to create something unusual, because of which they decided to derail common sense, letting the culmination of the story derail, and this affected the entire perception of the film as a whole.
Apparently, inexperience played a cruel joke with the director and screenwriter, since they had a lot of intriguing ideas in their heads, but could not properly dispose of it. They came up with extraordinary, remarkable characters, put interesting dialogues into their mouths, which may at first seem too pompous in scientific terms and inappropriate, but the further you delve into the essence of conversations, the more carefully you begin to follow the essence of words. When the first password game begins, and let alone a glimpse into the past, the film further strengthens the audience’s attention, but when it comes time to put a strong point in the story, there begin to be frankly unnecessary things that would be worth cutting out during editing, or a little to continue the story, so that we get integrity and do not ask questions that were not worth it. But despite the blunders, this story is quite appealing, it raises a whole host of questions about time, friendship, cunning, hopes and fear. All this is twisted in a spectacular local storm, which could well be even more impressive.
Before us is a sample of how an idea with a hint of a certain uniqueness was transformed into a ridiculous medley of it-terminology, generously seasoned with extremely mediocre acting, with an attempt to leave on the circum-Gikovsky theme.
If you are at least a little related to information technology / software development, then the recommendation is not to waste your time watching - you injure your face with your palm. Good porridge from IoT, AR, MITM-attacks, Wikileaks, AI – all this looks very funny. No, however, it is absolutely impossible to restrain the laughter from the serious expression with which the characters explain the terminology and weave into the outline of the script narrative.
The listing of the WannaCry fork, which was viewed with chthonic horror on the laptop screen somewhere even squeezed a stingy nostalgic tear. I remembered the beginning of the two thousandth, when he began to work as a Windows developer: indeed, the code of some applications accompanied the grimace of horror on his face. For only people who wished evil to mankind could write this way. Separately polished moments of brute force/compilation/deploy windows-application on the phone (!!). You can go on and on...
I understand that everything is quite exaggerated and it is not worth taking the picture seriously. But such pictures instill in people an unreasonable fear of technology, instilling irrational, stupid and inappropriate fear, mythologizing the sphere of it, turning it into a kind of “Pandora’s box”, which, of course, it is not. Remembering the obvious reference of "Coherence" - there is at least some logical cosmology with cause-and-effect relationships that really encourage reflection and empathy. Here secondaryness, randomness and, what is it, the desire to be “in a technological trend” other than shame for such Spanish cinema does not cause anything else.

Reading negative reviews of this film, in many ways you understand that they are associated with unjustified hopes of the audience. So at the outset, I want to warn people preparing to watch Password: House is not a horror movie. No word at all. And it has something to do with fiction, because. You sit down to watch a very well shot chamber European thriller.
For this reason, if you expect action, screenplays and spectacular special effects from the film, you are definitely not at the right place. Prepare that 95% of the screen time the main characters will spend at the table, engage in intense dialogue. Although these films are completely different in genre, I personally remember the Italian “Perfect Strangers”. And indeed, the mise-en-scene here is almost similar, and the connections are similar – well-known friends gather at a party, talk about how modern technologies affect our lives, the owner of the house offers to play a game. And it turns into a dark and paranoid plot about the secret developments of the government, Snowden, Anonymous and ... time travel.
I am glad how competently everything was filmed by the director – debutant Manolo Munguya, how well actors unfamiliar to me personally play. Yes, and the script, even if it does not shine with a special originality (similar themes have been raised more than once in "Black Mirror") - is tightly tailored and keeps in suspense until the very end of the film. At the same time, the dialogues are not stupid, they touch on really serious and complex topics – and at the same time they are unobtrusively chewed up by those who are not familiar with it-technologies or logical paradoxes, for example, without trying to seem artificially abstruse. A great example of how with a small budget you can make a great movie.

Is that horror? Well, why so mock lovers of horror and mystical delights!
Fantastic? Well, judging by the pre-final, not a gram, and the final is something with something. I just laughed, to be honest. What was that about? Then you have to run a sequel wisely, but I don’t want it, I think the others too. Twist and twist. That makes no sense.
Now we can move on to the pluses of the picture, they are. Pure chamber cinema, which did not hide the low budget of the picture, where all the action takes place in a country house, and the beauty of nature we have not shown, sorry.
The computer scientist Rafa and his wife take old school friends in this house and that would entertain them, start a conversation not about a summer vacation somewhere in Cyprus, and not about their favorite football team, but directly begins to polish the topic that is so relevant for modern, advanced young and promising. Well, of course, they are talking about the Internet, encrypted state files, lying ownerless on servers, and the all-powerful computer mind, threatening humanity with enslavement and other horrors.
In such conversations and passes a good part of the film, but despite this, the dialogues are built quite cheerfully and the actors play well, the images of their characters are alive and bright and therefore you watch the film without strain and all expect that here comes the most interesting thing.
Yes, the finale disappointed me personally, I believe that it would be quite realistic to come up with a much cooler apotheosis and a little longer the film, well, for 15 minutes, would be enough. And so the film looks flawed and it is very offensive, because not everything in the picture is bad, but the stupid script spoils everything.
I love Spanish cinema in general, they have many interesting thrillers and horrors are also not bad. But Manolo Munguya this is the first film, it is necessary to pay tribute to him as a director, still not complete slag, enough and successful moments. Maybe it'll be better. By the way, Munguya here is still part-time producer and screenwriter, everything is clear, on the box of scrapers, on the bars of the shallows and collected for the film. There was no opportunity to invite actors more or less famous, but the surprisingly unknown cast turned out to be quite strong.
The film is recommended for viewing by lovers of chamber cinema with a slowly developing action and built on dialogue. Fans of cool fiction and horror should pass by, this film will not be interesting to them.

And just as one note can not become the key to a good song, and one good idea can not result in a good film, if the director does not bother to create some logic and atmosphere of reality behavior of the characters within the picture.
I do not even cling to the extremely amateurish reasoning ' super-hackers' on the topic of information technology - this is just logical for the entertainment genre, which is cinema. Oddly enough, the director screws up in a fairly simple - to make living people out of the heroes so that the viewer could at least for a second feel what is happening.
Inappropriate reactions of the characters begin to surprise from the fifth minute of the film. Then suddenly the host of the party begins to shout out predictions of the imminent death of humanity from social networks for salads, then one of the guests in the most dramatic and boring manner delves into a simple paradox ' Achilles and Turtles', add here the obligatory ' stupid blonde' who is whining something about Google, a template lawyer with a self-serving ' Businesswoman' and we will get a set of cardboards for pasting in the album for children '<6/#39;
It's hard for me to imagine how anyone could be hysterical about a phone program. Not to amaze, not to intrigue, not to capture - but to make them wring their hands, shoot at others with redressed glances, stand in dramatic poses, etc. Honestly, I remember the funny Soviet cartoon "Pif-puff! Oop-oop!", where the story about the killed bunny ominously performed by the choir. In addition to jokes, one of the heroines even faints, seeing something on the phone screen - after all, this is such a logical reaction.
At the end of the film, not only the director, but also the screenwriter, not knowing how to finish what they had brewed, so they just stuffed a vinaigrette out of the usual scarecrows of the apocalypse, leaving an allegedly ineffable. Probably because there was nothing to say in the beginning.
I may have been too harsh about this film, but I found it so annoying, stupid and unsophisticated that I thought maybe my review would save someone from this disappointment.
What does a classical work consist of? The setting, development, culmination, denouement, this work has a long plot, extremely weak development and ends at the climax. After watching the film and leaving the cinema, the impression of watching the first series of some low-budget series remained, judging by the theme that the producer, director and screenwriter is one person, and the entire film takes place in one room, one house! Made to go to this film is a very tempting description and rating IMDB, which inspired confidence, and then came disappointment.
The film was not surprised by anything, a fairly simple camera work and soundtrack, a very average acting and a very leaky plot. The final twist first aroused interest, but with detailed consideration showed its complete inconsistency, because either half of the friends of the main characters are round idiots, or as I said we saw the first episode of some series! Someone will certainly find the conversations of the characters over a bottle of beer interesting, but this does not make the film quality, but only saves it from complete failure.
Film search often does not accept inconsequential reviews, but this film simply has nothing to say without spoilers, it is empty and unoriginal, parasitic on a fashionable political topic, seasoning all this with the problem of “time travel”, without giving any new thoughts and solutions.
