Another worthy representative of high-quality European cinema. Along with the film, the Collini case (2019, Germany) is one of the strongest court dramas of recent years. And let you not be confused by the very term "judicial drama" - it is not at all boring, the events in the film are developing quite dynamically, the plot "sagging" is not noticed.
Acting is beyond praise. Olivier Gurme is simply incomparable, which only costs the "final" monologue of his character before the assessors. The line Marina Fois is also saturated - selflessness in the desire to help an essentially unfamiliar person is extremely skillfully played out; the relationship of the heroine with her son, arising on the basis of this very "help", is also of genuine interest.
The ending was extremely emotional, a kind of catharsis. And the scene with the moved heroine Fois and the "restrained" joy of the hero Gurma - here and cry will be shameless. Without any conceit, we can state that the full-length debut of the director Antoine Raimbaugh was successful.
