How to turn dreams into inhuman profits . . Chinese cinema, I think, is something amazing and interesting. Until recently, we knew only Jackie Chan - now he is developing very quickly, giving out sometimes not the most foldable, but at the same time fascinating stories. So is this movie. The Almighty Self is a story that unfolds gradually, gathering more and more details and meanings with the course of the narrative. And the details are delicious and unexpected.
The main character at first did not arouse any positive emotions or sympathy in me, but as the action progressed, he managed to change my opinion - and with the advent of the romantic film line, this was even more transformed. And the way he got out of poverty and got rich - wow, that's a separate song!
At first, you watch the film incredulously (after all, all this is far from the usual Hollywood, or European cinema), but in the process there are more and more new moves - and not worn clichés, but such turns that I have not seen in other films - and the viewer is drawn more and more into this strange fantastic world of a strange writer, his dreams, ancient swords and museum values.
Anyway, I'm not omnipotent. I definitely recommend the movie Almighty Me. A good sight to take a break from Hollywood cliches and try something exotic-new.
