You can't ignore history, even if you're a tolerant 21st century citizen.
Nineteenth century England... blacks in the upper strata of society and a young Asian girl. . .
Now (thanks to globalization) such diversity among the population is the order of things, but in the 19th century it was different.
Slavery was abolished only in the nineteenth century, but since earlier progress was seven-mile steps, society could not so quickly accept blacks and let them into the upper strata.
If blacks in the 19th century equaled the white population and took honorary titles, why would there be such an explosion of the BLM movement? How? In the nineteenth century, the boundaries between races were blurred. Wouldn’t society have accepted the realities with which they live in 2-3 centuries?
If I am not mistaken, then China until the first half of the XX century was ' closed country'. Where in England could a young Asian girl come from? So free to live your young life?
The desire to shoot a teenage adventure series, on which the creators will earn a good living, should not differ from the historical reality of the time in which the events of the series take place.
Such a desire to prove through series and movies that all races live in peace and friendship is pathetic. Why? Because, unfortunately, things are different and not so simple. You need to do more than just make movies where everything is rosy. Because people neglect history. . .
Please don't forget the story! It is cyclical and can be insidious when forgotten!
I didn’t expect anything when I decided to watch the series to cut salads and peel potatoes. I really liked it in the end. The series has an obvious problem with describing and perceiving it from this description.
A person, having read the synopsis, most likely expects to see another fan fiction on the universe of Conan Doyle, where street kids & #39 will help the detective investigate cases.
Expecting this, the viewer is likely to be discouraged and disappointed by what he sees.
On the other hand, the creators, probably (I don’t know), decided that they would not be able to attract an audience without this move (after all, you could make a series with these ' kids' generally in another setting, just a gloomy London, with its dark secrets in dark alleys, without any Sherlocks, Lestrades and johns), just telling how a team of nounames fights, well, DANG Omen.
And they would, I think. The actors play well, the stories in the spirit of urban legends are really interesting, the chemistry between the characters at the level is not just logs that are taken to the sawmill in one cart, in short, I watched with pleasure.
I do not have a reverent attitude to literary heritage, for God's sake, shoot at least Karenina with Shark-Werewolf instead of a train, even the tales of Mother Goose in the form of a horror anime. If you don’t like it, I won’t watch it.
That’s why this series came to me. And many others he could push immediately, right in the first series, precisely because from the original universe of Holmes there is only a name, although not even it.
A good series, interesting, actors are good, urban horror stories at the level, investigations are not without gods in the car, many bushes are hidden in pianos, but the truth is fascinating.
It’s a pity that the second season was cut (not because of bad views, as you might think, the views there were very good), but I’m also happy to review the first one again.
First of all, I want to say that I have a rather warm attitude to the original Netflix series, the same ' The Queen's Move' generally occupies a special place in my heart. That’s what led me to see 'Irregular Parts' – the description seemed catchy, and the atmosphere of Victorian England also appeals to me.
Well, I want to say that the description is much more interesting than the series itself.
The left-wing agenda, the black English earls and the Arabic-looking Dr. Watson himself can be omitted - with this everything is already clear. As well as the homoerotic undertones of the relationship of this very Watson to Sherlock - here too nothing new.
If it can still somehow be understood and forgiven that the absolute stupidity of what is happening on the screen is no longer there. The characters are absolutely boring, mediocre, their dialogues are aimed exclusively at the viewer, so that he, stupid, understands everything thoroughly. The performance of the actors is also not impressive at all, and it seems that they are all trying to use the technique ' portray anger and yelling - and you will be a super actor' Otherwise, I can not explain that the same Watson in principle can not talk with the main character calmly. Like the main character with the same Sherlock. The actor, playing Leo, as if he decided to adopt the manner of Travis Fimmel in the role of Ragnar, that is, endlessly crooked and grinning, but unlike the glorious Viking he completely failed.
The plot is boring, mysticism is faked, sometimes frankly kringe - it is kringe, because even the word ' stupid' it will not describe fully.
Too bad Sherlock and Watson got involved.
From the first minutes of the series, there is a feeling that something is wrong with him. There may be a mismatch between picture and time, it may be because of inappropriate soundtracks, or it may be because of silly dialogue. As soon as they try to introduce us to the characters, I want to shout: “What is wrong with you?” It's not like that.
In every scene where the characters try to say something, you want to close the tab and clean up your browser history and memory. All the more or less important actions of the character are chewed as if the viewer would not understand anything without this, and they stretched the timekeeping apparently only for the sake of explanation.
Soundtracks are so dark. We are shown Victorian London, with a less fitting entourage, and here begins some hip-hop, which is not at all appropriate. It’s very annoying and disgusting.
Surprisingly, despite all the horror of the script, soundtrack and characters, I managed to watch the series. And although the feelings remained quite bad, but it is still watchable and to some extent fun to watch this nonsense.
You're pretty patient if you don't walk away from the first soundtrack.
I'm full of impressions about the series. So much so that after watching the first series I went here, registered and write a review so that you, friend, do not waste time.
After all, it is very important to provide the first impression of the picture, it makes you feel more comfortable in front of the screen.
Irregular parts try to please everyone at once (except lovers of high-quality storytelling). And fans of “Stranger Things”, and fans of “Carnival Row”, the new trilogy of “Star Wars”, what?
Everyone has come to terms with the established set.. appearance of the main characters of each second series, here you do not think to stop watching. Even the same type of scenario does not immediately push from the screen. But I’m sure everyone who watched the first series will rightly consider themselves a victim of the soundtrack.
This is a trailer that will last for a whole season. The viewer does not reveal the universe, time, essence and characters, they do not catch as much as in at least the same “Riverdale” (and it also resembles the series, fans of the picture, without offense). There are no important “befores”, motives, explanations, pauses, gestures, views, and there is nothing at all. This is a long, written and shot hastily trailer, the episodes of which are shot, most likely, in one take.
Beautiful picture, but the needle of content in it to look hard and reluctant.
It's not really necessary.
Netflix pleased us with an original and interesting product, but recently the situation has radically changed - in the weather for the number of stream giant very much loses quality.
Not so long ago came 'Tribes of Europe', mocked all teenage dystopias, here Netflix has already made a cosplay on himself.
Well, judge for yourself: the American eighties replaced Victorian Britain, children on already seriously mature teenagers and so on. In fact, as many of our filmmakers love to do. And why the trend is now in the old England is not clear. There are even series titles here! Only with zero creativity.
And yes, Watson is black and the team is Asian. Well, plus and then flashing tanned faces. And, well, I could still play like caste 'OSD' Well, that's not the most comical given the environment we're in. The most amusing episode where the heroine with all proletarian fury rubs for social inequality. Seriously? Well, it is clear that leftist principles are trending now, but why push them everywhere and everywhere. Even in a completely fictional and fantasy story. And again, hello to our filmmakers - the classic owl pulling on the globe. Oh, poor bird.
It would be an interesting story, but it is not close. A ton of boring dialogues sucked out of the finger and not in the case stretched timekeeping: hour series for this project is a lot!
It is still possible to put up +100500 claims, but I am too lazy to pick on this obscenity.
