The Pearl of Antlantis The series is a continuation of the story of the film Aquaman with Jason Momoa in the title role: Aquaman sits on the throne as defeated in the duel of his half-brother, the Ocean King, who was going to start a war with the Earth Kingdom. And this is the story of whether Aquaman, a bastard from a foreign land, can be the wise and beloved king of the Underwater kingdom. And all this is presented simply magnificently in terms of satire, ridiculing the unusual royal traditions of Atlantis, love for the previous tyrannical ruler as something familiar and nostalgic and the perception of the new king-hero as incomprehensible to whom and from where.
The characters are simplified, more precisely, the entire pathos of the film is removed from them, no one tells Aquamena to look somewhere inside, turn, immerse themselves in understanding, breathe unintended organs that would open the universe. Vulko - Advisor: prepares laws, appeals, list of other state affairs. Mera is a couple of Aquaman, a lively daredevil, ready to tame their fervor to support the guy and give good advice. Aquaman is a newcomer to a new team in a new and unknown leadership position. Everything looks even more vital and logical than in the movies.
You can be scared off by the style of the picture: the detail of the drawing and the shape of the characters are constantly jumping depending on the angle and position of the hero in the frame or on his emotion. But it is done smoothly and competently without constant sharp transitions designed to cause shock and disgust, as in René and Stimpy or SUPERJAIL. The style is just right for not to push away and allow the madness of action scenes to look organic and exciting.
