Amazing film about a starving hitman from Mexico How many stories have you seen of ex-hire killers reluctantly returning to the case for the most recent assignment? Probably a lot. And the plot of the whole film can be easily predicted.
But you haven’t seen a movie like the Mexican movie 'Uzi' 2020. This is the most unusual story with the most unusual protagonist.
The film begins in the supermarket. An elderly man carefully, slowly, picks up food and puts them in a cart. And then leaves this cart in the middle of the hall and leaves empty-handed.
Soon the audience will understand why the man has no money. At all. At all. He lives in a dilapidated bath complex located in a remote area and rightly compared to Chernobyl. Every day he opens the doors of this bath complex and arranges himself behind the counter. But no one, absolutely no one becomes his client. . .
The man has no clients. There are a few friends among the neighbors. One of them represents the criminal world. He knows that Uziel is not just a poor old man living in a bathhouse. This man is a legendary hitman. And it is not for nothing that his name is Uzi - as well as submachine guns produced by the Israeli concern.
Yeah, Uzi gets one last assignment. Yes, he'll take it upon himself. But don’t think you understand anything about this movie’s starving protagonist. And don’t think that you can understand and predict his actions.
' Uzi' is a masterful film. He is extremely deceptive and contradictory. It is incredibly mysterious and at the same time down to primitive simple.
In Kinopoisk, this film does not even have a Russian version of the title and poster. At IMDB, he has a fair 7.2 score. He obviously received a modest rental and did not acquire world fame, although he certainly deserves it.
If you want to see a spectacular thriller, then 'Uzi' you will not do. But if you want to see a really unusual original film, playing with a seemingly long time turned into a template plot, then ' Uzi' may surprise you.
