How's Felix?
- All right.
- Hamil?
- Not on the outside.
- What does it mean 'externally'?
- This means that you can expect everything from him.
Felix is a professional killer. He receives an order to kill a certain oilman & #39; and he intends to execute it with all seriousness and professionalism. About the order learned one of the oligarchs of the other side and though ' oilman' and he does not like (just a man shit)), but he intends to make a decision: when and how to remove it. Therefore, he instructs Leva and his brother Garik - former bandits, and now ' honest businessmen' contact whom you need and cancel the murder. Levy uses old connections, cops, but Felix still manages to kill ' oilman' purely from questions of principle. The cops take him, but Felix manages to escape from prison by telling the sergeant to do so. In addition to several sides, the semi-mythical “killer union” is also included in the game. Well, in the end, there are a lot of plot twists and turns, and each side has 24 hours. Leva and his brother to deal with the killer, and Felix to solve their ends and fly to his beloved girl in Cyprus. Other bandits will also take advantage of the turmoil to settle scores and remove unwanted ones.
The movie. They wrote that this is a suitable, and most importantly, a Russian fighter along with the “Brother”. I'm not a fan of all the mafia stuff, but I did. Well, to "Brother" he does not reach almost all articles, but I must admit that for Russia, where in general with the cinema is tight, and with militants so bad, the film is above average. And considering the fact that shot in zero and even director-debutant, so generally not bad. The film even has a certain style and quite reliably conveys the time and atmosphere of the 90s era. However, the script was written by a woman and, apparently, so the bandits here speak too literary language. But everything else is quite vital. The action part is not bad, and although the budget is still visible, everything is quite interesting and worthy. Not that it will directly keep the tension and attention of the entire hour and a half, but at least it will not cause gag reflexes as from all current TV series and films about cops and bandits. At the same time, even the traditionally bad acting in films of this topic is also quite at the level. Not chic, but on a level. What really surprised me was the story. With him right now, they contrived and already towards the end you are at all lost, who removed whom there, and who avenged whom and what goals he pursues. Just a story knot" like D. Martin
Summing up: a decent fighter above average. Not "Brother", but as for Russia on the general fishless quite, quite.

Director Alexander Atanesyan, who reached his peak in 2006 with the film “Bastards”, began with this not quite ordinary film “24 Hours”. I remember the film absorbed in the nineties with a very strange atmosphere and an extremely reliable implementation without pumping black and without a drop of sentimental. The genre of “criminal drama”, quite common for that time, is burdened with something really established, some fundamental psychology of the bratva, which remained somewhere at the junction of officialdom and deaths from the nineties.
In the film, such people as Mikhail Kozakov, quoting Omar Khayyam, “Wine is the blood of the world, and the world is our bloodsucker, So how can we not drink the blood of a blood enemy?”, Igor Starygin as a lawyer, Georgy Taratorkin, who played an employee of the special services. But the film was determined by the main roles of Andrei Panin and Maxim Sukhanov. The roles are bright and, if not to say, the best. Killer Sukhanov and fined Panin.
I don’t know why I remember this movie. Maybe because the movie at that time was shot little, and if it happened, the film collected the maximum number of famous actors who tried very hard. As far as Hollywood is concerned, I think it was the best. And the mother of the hero Andrei Panin is played by Tatiana Samoilova, the Soviet actress “Cranes Fly” and “Anna Karenina”.
The film is probably not for a female audience, although who knows.
"24 hours, Lyova. Otherwise, I'll bury three meters underground. And I will put a monument to Dzerzhinsky.
14 years before John Wick, the film 24 Hours is released in Russia, which tells us about a mysterious union of hired killers. No, “Baba Yaga”, carrying out criminality with choreographic sophistication, we will not see here, but we will get acquainted with Maxim Sukhanov in the role of Felix – a short-spoken killer with a soulful look and baldness like Hitman. According to the plot, we have everything as it should: the next order was made and it would be time to retire, go to your beloved woman to rest on the islands and count money, but this was not the case - Felix himself becomes a target. The thug Lova, the character of Andrei Panin, and his brother have 24 hours to eliminate Felix (and find out if he really has a diamond on the trunk that women like so much, yes). In general, the film is a classic of the genre with shootouts, chases, explosions, betrayal and so on, but closer to the middle, the plot begins to seriously sag, introducing some obscure characters who in the following scenes are hardly remembered. The meeting of the main characters in the denouement is generally some implausible “royal in the bushes”.
In total, we have:
24 Hours is a pretty good action movie for post-Soviet cinema, made according to all the canons of Hollywood with his stories about the highest gangster light and cocaine. Only here the trouble of the film is that the film was not particularly competitive even then, and 18 years later it looks morally obsolete. And this, unfortunately, even making all the discounts for the efforts of the directors.
It is recommended to watch only nostalgic for the gangster nineties and fans of the wonderful actor Maxim Sukhanov.

This film can be captured with quotes. I don’t know why so many people underestimate movies. The cast is impressive. Sukhanov, who, in my opinion, played the best role, although I have not seen other films with him, but here he is on top. Panin is a great actor in his usual role, such a noble villain. Who just wasn't lucky. Killer Phoenix, about whom there are so many rumors and stories, cold-blooded, calm hero, evokes sympathy. You get into all this criminal showdown, the noble godfathers of the Russian mafia. Mysterious killer union. Everybody here. Although, in fact, events occur over two or three days, from the everyday life of the killer, during this time so much will happen. A movie that you can watch from time to time and won’t get bored. The soundtrack is also on the subject.
In my opinion, the best Russian criminal action movie with excellent actors, memorable phrases and an interesting plot. 24 hours Lev otherwise buried under the ground, three meters, and put a monument to Dzerzhinsky. "
Initially, it may seem that the film director-debutant Alexander Atanesyan “24 hours” is devoid of any merits and does not require special attention. And indeed, at first glance, an uncomplicated story about how a professional killer Felix decides to leave the case, completing another order for the last time, is somewhat old, if not stamped. Of course, someone doesn't like it and they decide to get rid of this Felix. But the guy is not so simple, and you still have to chase him well to catch and destroy. The very brave process of capture falls on the shoulders of two Shalamov brothers: Levik and Garik. Everything seems simple and simple here.
But on closer examination, under the cover of a typical crime film with gunfire, corpses, fraternity and thieves concepts, lies a parable of life and death. No, it's not Tarkovsky and certainly not Kitano with his long shots - no, what are you! Athanesian doesn't get that far, and if he wanted to, he didn't. However, not a quick narration, not typical images of heroes (well, where did you see such a killer as Sukhanov?), bandits, bandits are not similar to bandits (this is me about the Shalamovs), even an excellent popsovy soundtrack of the Moral Code - everything suggests that the typical primitive urine "24 hours" does not pull.
Of the cast, I would like to note, of course, Maxim Sukhanov, who once again proved a simple truth: actors who have undergone the hardening of the theater can play absolutely any role in the cinema (if they have talent, of course), while actors acting mainly in films cannot always organically fit into the desired image. And also the late Andrei Panin, always different, but incredibly charming in any role.
The theme of the persecution of the hero by criminal structures will repeatedly appear in the work of Atanesyan. For example, eight years later, the director will release the film “Montana” with Oleg Taktarov in the title role. And it is a pity that his character will be much less lucky than the hero of Sukhanov.

The film begins quite pathetic, and this mood lasts until the very end. Beautiful interiors, beautiful cars, beautiful girls, beautiful guns, casinos, cocaine, killers, golf. All sorts of stamps about elite life. The main character is, of course, a sentimental verbose donjouan with a manly unshaven face. His name is Felix, and he has a diamond gun. A kind of mixture of “Leon” with “Antikiller”. Although the director somewhat dissipates this effect towards the end - it turns out that the main character is not averse to steaming in the bath, that is, a normal person. The story is actually pretty good. Thanks to him, the film is addictive, because in addition to shooting there is quite a lot of detective. It's a plus.
And the minus is an amazing thing, but “24 Hours” a dozen years after the release was already covered with a rather dense touch of archaism. Maybe because the killers and the gangsta are different now. Maybe because the brothers in the late nineties were tired of costumes a la yakuza. Maybe because cassettes and cell phones the size of a shovel haven't been in windows for a long time. In all, 24 hours from the dark past - and no other. And this, in my opinion, is a minus, since “Maps, money...” or “Leon” manage to stay out of time.

And a special thank you to the Moral Code for a great soundtrack.
