Wrongly Forgotten Cognac The story of five childhood friends who, after many years, reunite to celebrate the wedding of one of them. Ray, who marries against the wishes of his fiancée Patricia, dreams of getting out of this hole and painting murals somewhere in Italy. And Dennis, who has just returned from L.A., is also looking after his longtime love Patricia. And so the question arises: “Is castling possible?”
Although this is the starting point of the script, the viewer will not be particularly interested in it, but will be suitable for example in coming up with a Russian-language name (probably one of the most erroneous in history). Confusing Queens with Brooklyn has been killed for the last century. But what's the same in New York City is friendship. I don’t want to compare it to Once Upon a Time in America or even Sleepers, but it’s good in its own way. And although the emphasis on the mafia is in the beginning, in the course of everything goes to a comedic ending.
The film has more than a good cast. You can put in a word about John Malkovich, and about the beautiful Linda Fiorentina. But one guy you can definitely single out is Joe Mantegna. Having a very serious role, he will always be a comedian. Whether a mafia, or a fish dealer, or a magician - his character is the highlight of the whole film, and acting as always at the height.
In conclusion, I will say that the picture falls into my top of the best films about friendship. I know it’s not a masterpiece, but for me it has become a favorite.
