I love movies about escorts, I also love and watch domestic movies. Therefore, it will be difficult to accuse me of bias and high expectations.
First of all, thank you for having 10 episodes and that’s it, stories like this don’t have to spill over from season to season.
Secondly, thank you for Gregory Vernik. He played well, and his character most closely resembles a real sane person. Because Harpoon! No, okay, because I didn't support the delusions of my psychopath friend from the start. However, as we know, he did not stand aside and took part in all matters. That's why I said, "similar," but it's not.
Casting is bad, why: the main character does not look like a leader, the main character most like an escort. Yes, I understand that the main character must be beautiful. But, man, the girls they invited to work don't look like escorts at all! Maybe not the one who played Diana.
Hold on. There are 2 more cool actor-characters in this hellish cauldron - Boris Khvoshnyansky and Victoria Poltorak, who played villains. They're bad, I believe them. And wildly beautiful.
Next, the script. Perhaps the author(s) had different intentions than appeared on the screen. But to me, the picture of moral value does not carry at all. Everywhere you look, moral ugliness. I'm not talking about the escort. I'm talking about the choices that the main characters make. About how often their words are completely at odds with actions, thereby devaluing everything previously undertaken and voiced. I may have thought so, but this world is fantastic for me. Of the real there are the lowest manifestations, such as manipulation, betrayal and radical attitudes and methods of solving problems.
I have a question, maybe I didn't catch something, but where did the institute go? Did they start making money and drop out? No, I don't mind, I just don't get it. I glimpsed the filmography of the band and realized that the guys are not very experienced, so all of the above and the rest can be understood and accepted. But then the other question is, who gave them the money and why? It's obviously an expensive series. For what reason did this work get the cache? I would love to know, honestly. Because it hurts and makes me sad. So much can be said in the language of cinema about feminism, escort, prostitution and pedophilia. But I find this statement insignificant and offensive.
The plot of the series touches on many interesting and acute topics, from feminism to gender inequality, which could be extremely interesting to reveal for the viewer, to present an irrational point of view for society. As a result, we see a one-sided series with a subpoena.
In fact, there is no positive male character. The main character is an infantile guy, all his stupidities are justified by love for a girl who plays with him as she wants. The best friend is a guy who is not interested in anything other than “fun” and women of easy behavior, who does not try to help a friend and open his eyes to his relationship with his ex. The rest of the male characters are either perverts, cheaters or sexists, while the position of the female characters is considered by the martyrs, who have been living hard in a “patriarchal society” since childhood. However, the behavior of men, causal relationships are absolutely not disclosed. The series simply hushes up why men came to certain conclusions, to this or that life. It all boils down to animal instincts, stereotypes of society, or other subjective things.
Of the advantages of the series, one can only note the director’s work and beautiful lighting, sound accompaniment, boring dialogues in which the great Russian mate is appropriately inserted and various jokes and hamstrings that somehow animate the weak and emotionless acting.
It is better to talk about serious topics with humor.
The series tells about how three young friends organized an escort agency. The main question I asked was the script.
The series raises very serious topics (feminism, prostitution, social inequality, etc.). These are very interesting topics, but I did not see a balanced and finally formed point of view on these problems in the series. Most likely, the reason is that they sound from the lips of students who are just beginning to understand what is in this life. As a result, unfortunately, the series greatly simplifies and smoothes the problems raised.
P.S. From myself I can add that for such a plot, in my opinion, the style of the series “Golyak” with humor and lack of claims to excessive erudition of the main characters would be more suitable. This would knock down the pathos and make it easier to look at the irregularities of the plot.
Denise loves her girlfriend very much. She is his first and only love. But Nastya herself does not want to remain in this relationship anymore. An ordinary student Denis can not provide for her in all desires, so she decides to part with him. She begins to work in the escort business, earning a lot of money and not denying herself anything. An upset guy decides to keep up with his ex and opens his agency escort services. Trying to get Nastya back. But in this he is helped by his friend Nikita and classmate Leia, who so suddenly volunteered to help. They immediately have a lot of money and attractive offers, but eventually there are more and more new and more serious problems. Escorts aren’t prostitution, but they’re still selling themselves and their bodies. This means that there can be no guarantees and complete security. You should always be on the lookout. And inexperienced, albeit smart students now can not cope with everything that has fallen on them.
In the series, you can see a rather urgent problem of modern youth - the desire to quickly enrich themselves without thinking about the consequences. And most often, young people dive headlong into this world, at first glance, of luxury and pleasure. And then many people spend their lives raking up the fruits of such decisions. So the main characters of the series in the desire to return the girl and earn money do not think about the fact that they became on very thin ice. And then events like a snow horse begin to wind up one on the other. And the series, which began with a light drama, turns into a real thriller, and sometimes even an action movie. Very cool.
With all the tension of the plot, watching the series is easy. It does not press, does not strain, and you can relax while watching. And I think that such a series is useful to watch not only teenagers, but also older people - it will be interesting and sometimes even instructive.
The cast is great. It was nice to see new faces and already familiar actors. Of those I didn’t know before, I liked Vlad Konoplev, the main character. It is cool to get used to the role and especially cool as his image and attitude to the world changes along the story. Daria Alipova also plays well, such a confident feminist is an interesting image. But from the “old men” I was glad to see Boris Khvoshnyansky. I love his game, and he has such an interesting image. And Victoria Poltorak was great. I really, really like her looks. In general, the girls in the series, of course, are gorgeous.
I liked it. I don’t think everyone will do the same, but I advise you to watch the series without bias. An interesting plot justifies such a defiant general theme. Everything is not simple and unambiguous, as it seems at first glance. And the skillful mix of genres turned out to be cool.
This series reminded me of documentaries about how scientists observe a flock of monkeys, scrupulously studying the behavior, conflicts, techniques determined by instincts and the hierarchical structure of monkey society. Monkeys are known to live by instincts, continually satisfying their natural needs, and use quite a rich body language and even some range of sounds. A monkey can easily tell another monkey that it likes (or doesn’t like), that it doesn’t mind sharing food with it, and is even willing to offer some services in return. In addition, monkeys constantly signal to others about their social status in one way or another (up to the back of the head, distributed to others, so as not to relax). For example, staying in the company of a high-ranking male female often shouts loudly to tell other females how tough she is, and they envy her (often cases when such an individual is even beaten by other females, interrupting the dating process).
The biggest problem with monkeys, in my opinion, is that they don’t know any other life. They do not know how it is, do not rub within sight of the alpha male - suddenly pay attention, do not brag about being with a cool male / female, do not beg for food and do not try to take all the truths and untruths as high as possible in the monkey hierarchy, which will give the opportunity to engage in all the above with vengeance. However, I will not slander all the monkeys - probably many of them are ordinary workers, honestly getting food and raising offspring - well, people have the same situation.
In fact, the entourage and universe of the series I described.
As for the plot, dialogue and acting, they are weak, and this is a cyclical addiction. Playing well in most scenes of the film is simply impossible, picking up the right emotions to individual phrases and whole dialogues is also not always possible - there any emotion will seem false, except, perhaps, homeric laughter. No, key phrases like “I want to be a prostitute too” are played well, and the creators are happy to focus on such moments, but in general, the dialogues are quite verbose and low-quality, and the characters, for the most part, are a parody of real people, whether they are feminists, rappers, businessmen, pimps or even dads with mothers. Grotesque, of course, is not criminally punishable, and in many films is good, but not in this.
Individual stories, in which the characters get involved, although they have, so to speak, a purpose and morality, are made as clumsy as possible. For example, the scene with “businessmen” who thought they had ordered prostitutes and they were brought escorts, was so poorly implemented, especially including the ending and consequences (or, more precisely, the absence of consequences), that I personally felt uncomfortable for the actors. The scene of three days of training escorts in the basics of art, economics and etiquette, and the subsequent shame of chucking competitors, not distinguishing Monet from Manet, finished me completely. It is good that Stanislavsky did not live.
As for the dialogues, there was a strong feeling that they were written for teenagers (despite the fact that the film is 18+). The viewer is constantly fed with lectures, such as "girls come in three kinds...", statements, such as "to talk to a client for free is slavery, and for money - respect for him and himself..."
The actors, as I said, played poorly. Maybe one of them will reveal (or have already revealed) in other films, but this film is clearly in the negative (someone more, someone less).
The glamorous entourage painted in the film, a kind of rich life for the poor, maximally squalid and repulsive, despite the seemingly presence of cool cars, expensive clothes with hairstyles and servants. The main element of this glamour is a large number of half-naked submissive girls, scurrying here and there, and that someone constantly brings glasses.
Undoubtedly, escort services exist, both in soft and hard versions. Undoubtedly, some people have strange and even rather perverse desires, and it is easier for rich people to fulfill such desires than not very rich people. Of course, young guys sometimes leave girls (and sometimes even old and rich), and vice versa, guys sometimes leave girls. Undoubtedly, many people sometimes try to realize their business ideas, and some even become billionaires. Undoubtedly, in business and in life, they often cheat, throw, blackmail, set up, and sometimes, on the contrary, they are lucky in something. But all this has nothing to do with the series being discussed - it is not about this at all, it is not about our world at all. Rather, it is closer to the universe in which plumbers always come to apartments with lustful single women, teachers leave a thirty-year-old student after school, and stepmothers manage to get stuck in washing machines.
In the end, according to the laws of the genre and the first scene of the series, there should be rejection and a turning point (and maybe even a rethinking of values, growing up and promoting family values), but I am not going to watch. Even if all this is done perfectly, and the audience receives a powerful message: “Girls, don’t go to the escort! guys, don’t go to the pimps!”, then it will not be worth watching the rest of the plot. And I doubt that with the acting and scripting talents demonstrated in the first half of the series, the creators will be able to realize any strong ending.
There's no place for love in business. Or is there?
First love is a story for everyone. For some it is a sad and painful experience, and for others it is a happy one. For some, it's just an experience. Denis definitely did not work out with his first love. But that's for now, because he's not going to leave it as it is. His girlfriend Nastya, not seeing prospects in relations with the guy, abandons him and begins to engage in escort, earning a lot of money and ensuring a comfortable life. Trying to regain the girl’s favor, he himself is applied to this business, not as a “model”, of course, but as an agent who recruits girls for such work. But he and his friend Nikita are not going to engage in prostitution, neither of them wants to cross the line. In time, they meet on their way smart and enterprising girl Leia, who is ready to help them in business. Together they develop a plan and begin to build a career. But everything is not as rosy and fun as it seems from the beginning.
Very cool show. It has everything: relationships, business, and escort. Anyway, everything we love. And also very pretty actors. So even from a purely visual point of view, the series is cool. Frequent change of gray color of everyday life on bright lights of clubs and restaurants create a cool atmosphere. But external impressions are not everything. The plot itself is very interesting. This is a pretty original idea initially. To me, the series is not at all like other similar ones, although such topics were already in many places. It’s always interesting to watch the path of overwhelming success (even if it’s on the edge of a business) followed by many losses and challenges. This is another story about the fact that quick money, which is given easily, often leads to the same rapid fall and disappointment.
Of the storylines, I am most interested in the story of Leia. The girl really has an outstanding mind and straightforwardness, which annoys many, but I really like. And I love how she interacts with guys, how she helps them. On the basis of the desire to earn money together, a long and strong friendship is often born, so I am especially interested in this moment.
So, of the actors, I liked Daria Alipova the most, who played Leia. She plays emotions so well, and also adds humor with her “facepalms” very much to the topic. Her image is closest to me, therefore it causes the most reflection. Vlad Konoplev very much reminded Golovin 10 years ago. I liked him so much then. So this actor couldn't come in. And his role is not simple, but plays well. I think Larisa Kulakova plays well. At first I thought exactly the same as she did when I heard about the idea of such an agency. I thought she was the simplest and most sincere character, but I haven’t seen it yet, so we’ll see what happens. Egor Dolgopolov in the role of Vadin was not very liked. Maybe it's just because the actor himself doesn't evoke sympathy.
In short, a cool series with an intriguing theme and a good cast. I love watching this and generally think it’s a fun topic that will definitely intrigue. The most important thing is to watch the series!
In today’s society, much of what was once considered unacceptable is now the norm. So, apparently, a modest guy Denis had to face this. And not simply, but by the example of his personal life. The guy is in love with the girl Nastya. There is no limit to happiness because she is his girlfriend. But that happiness quickly comes to an end when she abandons it. He learns that his beloved began to engage in escort, so, of course, some simple and not very rich guy she is no longer interested. But Denis does not intend to give up. After all, this girl is the love of his life. Then he decides to play by her rules and open his own escort agency. Thus, he will be able to kill two birds with one stone: earn money and attract the attention of Nastya. To help him comes a friend Nikita, who is also not averse to earn money and spin in the company of beautiful girls. But is this business that simple? Will the money earned in this way bring happiness?
I like the series from one description. I love such provocative stories that raise bold but acutely social issues. We cannot be silent about the fact that our society is being corrupted a little bit. And the series just tells how modern youth is ready for the sake of their goals and for the sake of money to overstep their own principles. In the end, this, of course, cannot bring real happiness, because it is impossible to call this way of earning honest. And that's what I liked the most. The creators did not try to romanticize this sphere, to make it even more attractive for young people. They, on the contrary, tried with the help of the plot and characters to show that it is very dangerous and can lead to irreversible consequences. It is really interesting to see how guys with enthusiasm and ease start a business, which in the end brings them a lot of problems and disappointments.
The actors are great, too. Let’s start with the main character – Denis, played by Vlad Konoplev. I just love that character, and the character is nothing. He is a very complex person who does not fully understand himself. Therefore, despite what he does, his very image inspires trust and affection. But Grigory Vernik and his Nikita are a different matter. The actor plays, of course, well, but this hero I do not like. Although in some places he is even prettier and more attractive than Denis himself, his behavior does not suit me at all. Terrible in the series infuriates Nastya ... Well, in a good way. That is, the heroine of Christina Orlyanskaya should cause such emotions in the viewer, so she played well. But I think that all the problems of the guys are because of her. It is not in vain that he says that women are a problem, and this is often the case.
Anyway, it's a great show. This is certainly not an easy comedy or melodrama, where you expect a pleasant romantic ending, but the plot is exciting. The unusual topic raised makes you look further in an attempt to find out how the guys will eventually solve their problems. And I'm glad that the show shows the flip side of this rich life that you can get so quickly.
