Passage series not reaching the desired level Gray Parish has been linked to a criminal organization in the past. Now he leads a measured family life, raises his daughter and develops the business of renting elite cars. The troublemaker becomes his colleague from the past, released from prison seventeen years later. He asks him to help him do a trivial thing with him and make some money. Reluctantly, but not without a sense of duty, Parish agrees to help. The situation spirals out of control, and he later becomes involved with a dangerous gangster running a business for illegal immigrants.
Giancarlo Esposito, familiar to many on the cult role of Gus Fring in the TV series “Breaking Bad” and “Better Call Saul” this time stuck in a quieter role. And devoting more extensive screen time to his character, starting from the title, Esposito arranges a benefit on the small screen not only as an executive producer.
The plausibility of the leading actor’s acting is not in doubt and does not raise questions. However, due to the poorly arranged plot, the actor has almost nothing to play there. This is not a complex drama with a multi-level system of the inner world of the characters, but a simple criminal story with the absence of charismatic characters and memorable plot twists. Of course, the comparison with the creation of Vince Gilligan looks inappropriate and incorrect. Although the references for fans are visible even with the most inconsiderate look.
At first glance, the modest series Parish will not gain high fame even at the end of this year. Despite familiar names in the cast and an intriguing plot, the series begins to lose at a long distance. Missing the dynamics of the plot development and for too long trampling on one place around a simple topic. Perhaps the authors will not miss the moment and reveal themselves in full in the second season, if it has enough strength and enthusiasm. In the meantime, the series looks like a pass.
