On evil in Polish Polish detective/thriller and in general Polish cinema has always attracted more interest than, for example, German. In my opinion, this is due more to the fact that the perception of the world by Polish filmmakers is closer and more understandable to us. This applies to the “Color of Evil”: tough, dynamic, interesting.
The story. The young prosecutor believes that the investigation into the murder of a young girl Monica is not as simple as it seems at first glance. The attempt to continue the investigation leads him to organized crime.
The film captures primarily the dynamic development of events. Maniacs, crime, drugs, prostitution, etc. – everything that falls under the term “modern European detective” – there are. The active development of events somehow loses the biography of the murdered girl, who, according to the plot, is the daughter of a judge and at the same time the mistress of a mafia boss. That the mother didn’t care and much else about the deceased sounds dissonant to the main storyline and, in fact, if she had been given less flashback time, I think the film would have won. Let’s just say that the murder of Monica is the central storyline, but here she and her actions are described very “crooked”.
Bottom line: as an active thriller - very good. Like a story detective, no way. Overall, it looks interesting.
