Boris's spin I don’t remember what year it was and what the election was like for President Putin, but it was a big night and my mother and I were following the news. And so they announced that GDP was coming to the post, and live, late, he went out to accept congratulations, fresh, in a grayish sweater of a large knitting, like a domestic, and almost a native man. A few years later, a friend and I argued about politics, and I naively stood on the fact that, they say, here is the image of a homely, sleepy man in a sweater I can not get out of my mind. Well, this guy can't be bad and hurtful. It's the demons who make a mess, and the real one is like this. A friend of mine called me an unprintable word and said that the sweater was programmed and stretched on GDP by cunning marketers, as well as trousers, belts, shoes, which may get into the frame. And all this is calculated in detail on such people who can be called unprintable words.
"Project Yeltsin" (in the American literal translation of "Boris's Rotation" - in which direction it rotates or waltzes, I do not understand. For the first time, my translation has opened my eyes to many things. I watched the movie twice in one evening. The first is in pensive solitude. The second one was with her husband to confirm that the movie was brilliant.
The husband of the movie flatly refused to call genius. I asked where I got it, to recommend it to my brother. They say it’s hard to change the world, but I really hope that from person to person this film will become popular. Because you need to know. We have to talk. Write. Argue.
From the title, it may seem that the film is about mythical treaties with America (logically, the film is an American one), about how they sold their homeland. This story is about three guys from the States who were invited to work on the image of the President before the people. Now this word is familiar to every schoolboy, but in the conditions of 96 in newly minted Russia, it cut the ear and caused misunderstanding.
For the first half an hour, my husband seemed sluggish. Guys were not allowed to work because of mistrust and prejudice. As far as I'm concerned... Here they could not break away: the husband - from the screen, the boys - from Yeltsin's daughter.
Yeah, I'm a standard consumer, a housewife, who's designed to advertise a toilet duck in between shows. Yes, I do not have a marketing education and I am not able and not with knowledge to recognize elementary manipulation on the air. But that doesn’t mean I’m not interested. I'm avidly catching the stunt of 99 Francs and Generation P because I want to know. And I do not believe that only after five years of studying at the relevant faculty can you begin to understand what is true and what is fiction when watching the news program or election campaigning.
I am also very grateful to the authors of this film for just being there. For not being afraid on the other side of the ocean to tell the truth as it really was. How six percent turn, six percent turn... into an election victory!
It is highly recommended for viewing to everyone who cares.
