Shoot the Moon I love this movie. Before our attention is a family drama from the British director Alan Parker. He is remembered for his two chic films The Life of David Gale and Hearts of an Angel. Now before our attention is his earlier picture under the mysterious title "Shoot the Moon" - "Shoot the moon". In our Russian box office, the movie was translated, “As it backs up, so it will respond.” In fact, both names fit well.
We see the story of the married couple George and Faith. They have 15 years of married life and four young daughters. The heroes love each other, and everything seems to be fine, but a misfire happens, and George starts an affair on the side. Faith finds out, and the scandal begins, and then the war. The marriage of the heroes comes to an end, and they begin a new life. This event hits the heart of their family, or rather their daughters.
The film is very strong and made amazingly. At one time, the painting was nominated for the Palme d'Or, which emphasizes its value. I was very pleased with the acting of Albert Finney and Diane Keaton. British, respected actor Finney and Oscar winner the same respected American actress Keaton performed here incredibly touching and belly duet. They played so cleanly, so vividly, that it was as if we looked into the window of someone’s real life and saw the real story. Inspirational acting.
The film itself is profound for many reasons. The story of the breakup here, of course, is shown from a male perspective. We see a scandal, and it reveals the essence of the heroes. He is like a beast, a man, a fragile, sophisticated creature, a woman. Together they are so perfectly in harmony, but their marriage is ruined and we see the fragments of their relationship. It seems that life goes on, and he and she have already someone appeared, but the love between the heroes still did not pass, and personally I think that this one is forever.
I also liked the four girls who played daughters. Wonderful selection of young actresses. It is the scenes associated with this story when you remember this film. The music in the film was ideal for the film: both the voice-over and the song that the girls sang, as well as Keaton’s performance, was also remembered.
This is a movie about life itself, about love, about marriage, about a breakup, about the male and female point of view of everything that happens and relationships. The film is wonderful, and most importantly clean and real.
