In March 2007 the film Alexei Pimanov "Three Days in Odessa" was released on the screens, which was a continuation of the series "Alexandrovsky Garden".
Five years after the events of the series, Alexei (Dmitry Zhulin) and Tatiana (Ksenia Kuznetsova) go on vacation to Odessa, where the disgraced Marshal Zhukov conducts a large-scale operation to clean Odessa from the criminal world. Therefore, the heroes will not be able to relax at the Black Sea resort. In addition, in Odessa along with the heroes went saboteur, who fought on the side of the Germans, nicknamed "Accountant", which should be urgently calculated.
To be honest, the film caused conflicting feelings. On the one hand, this is a beautiful melodrama, with elements of a detective, which is a sequel that looks quite like an independent film. The idea of the painting is very original. I liked the game of Vladimir Kochan and Olga Pogodina. Their on-screen love was beautiful and tragic. Also, thanks to the film, I discovered Glafir Tarkhanov and Oleg Maslennikov. And the romance “Will you justify?” performed by Valeria turned out to be a very beautiful conclusion to this story.
On the other hand, the film turned out to be weak. I didn’t really like Alexander Makogon. It was the Soviet James Bond: and in the train to kill in a tight space bandits for him was not difficult, and under water, holding his breath, he was able to stay for a long time, and the pistol is combat-ready (after being in the water). In addition, Koltsov, whose face did not express any emotions, in the frame was more often married Kazarin - the heroes of the "Alexander Garden". By the will of the writers, Odessa is held in his hands by a man who more resembles an intelligent uncle than a criminal authority. In general, Odessa itself is shown as a beautiful resort town, where everyone dresses the same. Hence the confusion of who is good and who is bad. Because the girl is a KGB agent, that the raider Lida - both actresses look like sisters. And the camera move to show "Accountant" from the back just serves as confirmation of that. In addition, we should not forget that 1947 was a time of economic recovery, post-war devastation, famine. And in the film, the whole of Odessa sunbathes, has fun, goes to theaters, as if outside the window is already the 50s. If this film were the only one on the subject, it would still look tolerable. But compared to the series “Liquidation”, which was released six months later on TV and was very similar to “Three Days in Odessa” (the scene is post-war Odessa, the capture of a saboteur who was hiding among his own, the cleaning of the city from criminal elements, etc.), this film, unfortunately, fades.
Finally, I would like to add that soon, on TV showed the second season of the series “Alexander garden”. And began the show with this film, adding a number of episodes, and breaking into 3 episodes. Therefore, “Three Days in Odessa” is only the film version of the first part of the second season.
