I am sure that everyone will have such a film, the love of which will be incomprehensible to an outsider. He may think the tape is good, but he will not be able to understand why it is for you the benchmark. Often such pictures are those that the viewer watched as a child, because they left behind warm memories. In such matters, a sense of nostalgia often plays. But there are situations when the beholder found something simple for others, something masterpiece. So one of those movies for me is Mean Girls (Directed by Mark Waters, 2004). The film is based on Rosalind Wiseman’s book Queen of the Hive, or How to Survive in Girls’ World. The book is a guide to understanding your teenage daughter. Mark Waters (Between Heaven and Earth, 2005; Mr. Popper's Penguins, 2011) decided to make a feature film based on a psychology book, which would later be adapted for the Broadway stage. The director was able to create an exemplary "girl movie". It is worth noting that when a movie is called “girlish” it does not mean that this picture can appeal exclusively to female audiences. Such films, although aimed at the female audience, can still captivate the male viewer. The same situation is happening in the opposite direction. Let’s be honest: The Memory Diary (Nick Cassavetes, 2004) wasn’t made popular by men. And Die Hard (John McTiernan, 1988) didn’t get its fame from women. But all this does not prevent you from enjoying a film that in theory was not even intended for you. And the fact that the film, which is designed for one audience, captures several at once, demonstrates the versatility and impeccability of the tape. "Mean Girls" is a good example of such a movie.
My opinion
"Mean Girls" is a good teenage comedy, which, unlike many other teenage films, does not emphasize the love branch of the characters. For the director it was important that the focus was on the relationship of girls not with guys, but with each other. In contrast to this film, in other similar many times the central place of the story was occupied by romance between a guy and a girl. The main goal of the heroes was always to get a partner by any means. Although the main character of "Mean Girls" Kady also has a love interest in the form of Aaron, but her key intention was not to fall in love with the guy, but to take revenge on the main bitch of the school. Also a good difference from the clichéd teenage film are the images of young people. There is no clear distinction between good and bad. Thanks to this, the characters become multifaceted personalities who are not prescribed one-sided actions. On the screen, the main character from quiet easily turns into a bitch. And Megera's school turns out to be good when he drops the mask of a hypocritical scumbag. Mark Waters is changing the structure of teen movies to make something banal unique.
The humor in the picture deserves attention. It really works by means of the fact that the comedy component of the film is not like the one that is present in banal films about teenagers. The creators diluted the tape with all sorts of humor, ranging from black to surreal. For a long time, a physical education teacher sat down in memory, who gives a lecture on the harm of sex. There was also a place for satire. The creators not only decided not to follow the established rules for creating teenage films. In addition, they decided to ridicule a few clichés that are so common in these tapes. The humor was so good that it was one of the main reasons why you should watch this movie. One of the main advantages of the film are the images of the characters, and especially the team of the main bitches of the school. At the MTV Awards in 2005, the film won the nomination “Best Screen Team”. The heroines turned out to be extremely charismatic and memorable. You really believe in their game. Although the characters by their idea are unpleasant persons, but at the same time they are extremely pleasant to watch. Rachel McAdams, who played the role of the leader of the bitch club, perfectly coped with her work. Her character causes conflicting feelings in the viewer. On the one hand, she is hypocritical and disgusting, but at the same time incredibly attractive. McAdams won the Breakthrough of the Year nomination at the same MTV ceremony. You should also pay attention to secondary characters who, like the main characters, were able to win the hearts of the public. Regina's mom, played by Amy Poehler, turned out insanely hilarious. Her desire to be 'cool', she says, makes her mom giggle. The only drawback of the caste is that the main characters do not look like 16-year-olds. They are more like students than students. The average actor was about 20 years old. Rachel McAdams, who was 25 at the time of filming, was only seven years younger than her screen mother. But despite this, the cast of the tape nevertheless turned out to be excellent. Conclusion
So Mark Waters' Mean Girls is a good example of a girl movie. The film is not like other films about teenagers of the time, because of its uniqueness it is so attractive. Good humor, a different approach to the story about school life and charismatic actors help the film become something more than just another film about schoolchildren. The creators made great efforts to get a truly high-quality tape, which will be interesting not only to the female audience, but also to the male audience.

A film for those who were not offended in school (not so much, at least)
I just watched Mean Girls, so I have a lot to share before my thoughts are fresh and gone. I saw this picture because of the insistent recommendations of social networks (the names of which I dare not mention here), intrusively imposing on me excerpts with Rachel McAdams as Regina. In the comments I saw only admiration for her character, the audience extolled her. Under the pressure of these plantations, I decided to watch the film (plus I like Rachel McAdams, she starred in a number of films I liked).
I watched a movie in English that I don’t know and didn’t understand many details. But I think I got the whole point.
It was interesting to see Rachel in such an unusual way. I've seen her in other movies and I didn't know she had such a bitchy facet. Usually she appears on the screen in the images of quite simple women, down to earth and kind. And here she's such a bitch, destroyer of lives. It tells me that she is talented and can embody different characters.
Lindsay Lohan didn’t have the same character as McAdams. In this story, her character Cady acts as if eyes. I mean, through her eyes, we're looking at what's going on around her. The viewer sees the world through its perception. But in the cinema, the main character does not have to be particularly charismatic, this function is often assigned to secondary characters.
Amanda Seifred... I don't even know what to say about her. As I understand it, it’s her first movie role (or one of the first, something like that) and here she’s only revealed as some kind of jerk. She got the role of a stupid girl who goes "singering" with Regina. And Regina is the coolest girl in the whole school. She formed around her something like a barren rock band called the Plastics, whose leader she is. And the main character - Cady - desperately wanted to replenish the composition of this "rock guppa" and remove Regina from the frontlady pedestal. From this point on, everything interesting in the film begins.
I haven't finished talking about Amanda. Personally, knowing this actress from her later work, I was surprised at how she was portrayed here. Apparently, after filming in Mean Gulz, she decided to fully compensate for such a disadvantageous role and began to embody more dramatic roles: from thin-eyed sexy girls to psychopaths. And looking at this quilt, I realized that initially she was not perceived by Hollywood bosses as a serious actress.
From what I've learned, it's mostly about female envy and gossip behind your back. It’s as if the movie is saying there’s no such thing as female friendship. I am not against such a message and I will even agree with it, no matter what.
“Mean Girls” may appeal to you if:
- You are nostalgic for the 2000s;
- If you are nostalgic about school;
- If you are studying at school at the moment and the events of the movie are relevant to you (I do not undertake to say how outdated it is, I am not aware);
- If you’re a glamorous pussy and like 2000s fashion.
But if your memories of the scale are so painful that it hurts you to even say the word "school," then the film is unlikely to make you feel good. Personally, I am not imbued with the nostalgia that people feel when watching this work. This does not mean that the film is bad. No, it's just parallel to me. Like other victims of bullying/bullying/bullying, I think.
What I was able to fully appreciate was the film’s impact on subsequent American high school films. I saw a great many clichés here, which were later repeated in many other Chickflicks about school and fashion. In fact, Lindsay Lohan in the 2000s is the prototype of Emma Stone in the 2010s. She also appeared on the screen in the form of a nondescript (at first glance) girl, later reincarnated in the family fatal for minors.
This is also the first film I’ve seen Tina Faye in. Before that, my knowledge of this actress was reduced only to the fact that she voiced Roxanne in the cartoon “Megabrain”. This is the first time I saw her play. That’s not all, she also wrote the script for the film.

At first glance, this story seems to be an ordinary Nixonian story about a quiet, kind and sometimes even introverted girl who overcomes difficulties and, in the end, remains just as good, but others already respect her.
But it wasn't. Mark Waters has prepared a whole new story for us about the formation of a good girl Cady in the Queen of the Bees, about the important fall and ascension. The film does not try to be anything more than a teenage comedy, but at the same time tells us about the importance of obedience and responsibility for their actions.
At first, Kady falls in love with the handsome Aaron School, but the problem is that he is the former boyfriend of the Regina Queen. After that, she and her friends figure out how to destroy Regina George. Everything seems to be going according to plan... but our heroine herself turns into a narcissistic bitch who believes that she is capable of anything and everything. Regina immediately frames her, making her guilty of all the problems. In the end, there is a "fall" Cady - everyone knows who she is and what she is.
But only after the fall Cady understands what happened to her and decides to change. And she does. She returned to her former state when she was a sweet and kind girl who had just arrived from Africa. But not only it changes: the main antagonist of the tape also changes, although the director decided not to focus on this.
The moral of the whole film is this: don’t try to be someone you’re not; don’t try to adapt to “respected”; be yourself and don’t try to earn yourself authority by humiliating others, because in the end everything will turn against you.
It’s definitely worth watching, especially if you’re a 12-16-year-old teenage girl, but I think a lot of people will like it. I personally liked it.
The main character did not go to school and studied at home, so she does not know all the unspoken school rules. It is difficult for her to find a common language with her peers on the first day, but still there are people who come in contact with her. This is Janice and Damian, telling the heroine about the local Queen, who is interested in Candy, and her maid of honor. Regina's society is so hypocritical it's hard to believe. Unfortunately, the main character loses himself in it. Candy became Regina herself and duplicated her actions and behavior, she was not herself.
Rachel McAdams played her part well, because Regina was really the bitch who annoyed me while watching. I didn’t feel sorry for her when things started happening. I remember the scene at the ball from the first time I saw this film, it is very touching and soulful.
Watching this film, you can see the absurdity of certain situations or actions, understand some jokes that you did not understand at a younger age, and plunge into the atmosphere of the 2000s. It is a pity that the friends of the main character have so little screen time or just it was not enough for me, but they are cool.
I do not regret the time spent on this film.
Light comedies about girl problems with Lindsay Lohan - a classic of my teenage years. I want to watch all the films with the Olsen sisters. Watch them very cozy, and then - I want to wear a skirt, hairpin and forward to the meeting of cheerleaders.
This movie is a hell of a lot like that - gossip, school, boys and a high school ball. Sometimes it seems to me that they were all invented on 1 common party by all their writers at once.
Here I want to note the composition of the main characters - they are beautiful and caricature expressive in their roles. And ' Prince' also, handsome guy.
The plot is a classic. The new girl, who arrived with her parents-zoologists from Africa and has never been to a real school, gets into this aquarium. At first he is terribly timid, but soon joins a gang of real piranhas - school queens 'Bounty' Of course, she liked the boy who was the former chief queen. And the fight begins not for life, but for death. Lohan works on two fronts, then communicating with nerds - gay and pseudo-lesbian, have a tooth on 'Bounty', then with the beauties themselves. And then, like a real teenager, she goes a little crazy and doesn’t understand who she is. A tangle of gossip and intrigue is tied up - to destroy the queen and conquer the prince. And of course, in the end, all this turns out to be useless fuss, friendship, love wins and everyone is reconciled. Lohan gets a boyfriend not through feud, but again becoming a cute, intellectually gifted goat. The victory at the mathematical Olympiad, the broken crown at the school ball is handed out to all the girls in pieces and, of course, a slow dance.
... What group would you be in at school? Nerds, musicians, athletes? Or would you be a loner sitting at a separate table in a dining room? I always imagined myself as a loner, but who would be a friend to everyone.
One of my favorite films of the beginning of the last decade, I can call Mean Girls without exaggeration. Now in certain circles it is already considered a cult, and I can not miss the chance to tell about it my impressions. I’ll start with the only drawback that doesn’t even apply to the film itself: the Russian dubbing. More precisely, it, as usual, loses half of the original humor due to the difficulty of translating all sorts of jokes and puns. But, fortunately, all the last times I watched the film in the original voiceover, so I appreciated everything that I had not heard before.
Now let me turn to the pluses, of course, much more. The first is the plot. Let it be based on a clichéd story about the life of a new girl in school (first love, enmity with a school bitch, etc.), but it is presented with some special humor, and almost all individual episodes are very original in themselves. By the way, I can’t help but mention that many phrases and shots from “Mean Girls” remain famous and are used in many places. For example, I immediately come to mind the phrases said by the three most popular girls of the school ("we wear pink on Wednesdays" and the like). The ending, by the way, is quite typical for films of those years. Nothing particularly shocking, but fair enough and humorous enough.
Don't go to Africa for a walk, do you? The worst part is the company of pretty girls at school.
Suddenly, an American high school comedy turned out to have a talented script. Intellectual cinema ' not for everyone' receives the status of immunity and, in general, it is customary to praise. And comedies about the disassembly of high school girls are a movie for once, it is considered. Like TV series or 'Dom-2'. Even uncomfortable if you like it. I swallowed it and forgot it. But still making a good comedy is harder than drama.
Not that it was funny at every turn, but it was strange to think about. You know that Chinese parable? The one who defeated the dragon takes his place on the treasures of the palace and becomes the next dragon. And no one can defeat the dragon, only the next fighter leaves and does not return. Because no matter how terrible and serious the enemy may be the dragon, it is difficult to defeat the dragon in itself.
And who would have thought this idea would come up in a school competition movie? Maybe a movie about teenagers, but the passions are serious.
It seems that the canvas of such film stories is familiar, but what, it turns out, opens up space for action! There was a moment of ostracism for one of the company's Herlas -- and it's an illustration of Stockholm Syndrome! And the moment one of the teachers had to sort things out, the actress did it so well, or the script, but it was cool. And there (again the review will be slaughtered as a spoiler) when everyone openly asks for forgiveness to those whom he offended and falls back into the crowd - this is public repentance, mass confession on the idea. And it turns out that friends, even after going through all sorts of horror, still find something in themselves to support each other.
It is not spoken, it is clearly not paid attention and the voice-over does not tolerate morality in such episodes - like ' what lesson I learned from this, what this situation taught me' In sitcoms, this role is played by voice-over laughter and other reactions; in films close to this, for example, ' The Excellent of Easy Behavior' it is the voice-over of the heroine that sums up the intermediate results in the course of the narrative. Because just such lightweight options are popular - and entertainment from the plot and yourself to say the idea is not necessary. And in this movie, such things are not abused.
And separately, it was pleasant that no one was judged, no one was changed, every creature found a suitable place under the sun. And they all stayed true to themselves and they were able to communicate afterwards. We're all human. And 100% white and fluffy.
There is such a, not a new trend, for every scrap cinematic product to throw the phrase “And what else to expect?” This is for children/teens/popcorn/one evening/for a bad date/to score something free time and then on the list. Every mainstream movie has such a magical pocket excuse. Questions about the silent consent of the viewer to the act of consumption of this does not arise. What else can we expect?
But there are winning combinations in this huge consumer lottery. And that makes their loss more pleasurable because you don't expect it. The result is a jackpot like Mark Waters' 2004 film Mean Girls.
What do we have at first sight? A teenage comedy about the difficulties of surviving high school. To enhance the taste, a trio of pink-powdered snakes, sullenly baggy outsiders, a handful of smooth-shaven legs in short skirts and a bundle of red hair by Lindsay Lohan are added.
What are we really getting? The plot sauce is further mixed with well-played jokes stereotypes, metaphors on the problems of dictatorship and power, analysis of the mechanisms of political technologies, riots and revolution, and even allegory for Orwell’s Animal Farm. And all this, amazingly fits into an hour and a half of a simple plot with understandable dynamics.
How does that work? The film has one simple advantage. You really don't expect that from him. And even 15 years later, it's still no more perceived than a hypertrophied teen comedy with the same characters. And, I do not hesitate to say, even this hypertrophy plays a good story. Heroes are more than stereotypical, in more than a typical situation for a 2000s film. You can immediately read the archetypal villain and his minions. You don’t expect more from the main character. This is where the fun begins.
It is worth paying attention to the transformation of characters. It happens several times during the film. And the process of transition from one status to another can cause admiration if you look closely. Deep questions about the nature of power, its toxic impact on the individual and the society around him. This makes us think not only plastic villain Regina, who repeatedly uses manipulation as a tool to suppress the spirit of her own colleagues, but also the main character, who eventually adopts such behavior in order to maintain her status quo. Such principles do not refuse and Janice, eager to take revenge on former friend Regina for the conflict since high school.
An amazing feature of the film is its timeless readability. And this can be, without hesitation, designated as one of the main advantages. In addition to the extremely deep allegories of dictatorship, we also have a direct indication of a moral abuse that can lead to extremely sad consequences. At the top is added the reasoning about the nature of rumors and their impact on the individual, the topic of teenage bullying and its silence. It is possible that the director, without knowing it, tried to build an alternative model for solving such situations and move away from the example of the school “Columbine”.
What's the result? The winning combination of, at first glance, a passing film with cute characters, a harmonious script and an interesting subtext created an interesting product for viewing and for detailed study. Let’s just say that with such a film it is easy not to be a lazy viewer. Especially if you look a little closer to the plot and push aside the lazy “a-what-still-expect” excuse.
I watched this comedy at university, and yes, it’s a lot like school life. Yes, I’ve seen good leaders in school in my life who were smart and purposeful people, helped others, didn’t criticize anyone, came up with interesting ideas and activities, but there were girls like this one. And these school "Queens" that in Russia, that in America are the same in many ways.
These girls have strange logic and strange rules in their company. And they are most often crooked and envious if someone has a brain and does not bow to it, but lives in school his life and has his own interests.
Partying is important, dating a bunch of guys is cool, you need to have a side-singer nearby, but studying and working for your future is uncool and sucks! Not for nothing did Regina forbid Cady to do mathematics: “What are you?” It's a loss of reputation! Yeah, and running all day round parties and shops, weaving intrigue and wasting time with gossip - this is not a loss of reputation ... Gretchen and her gossip were terribly annoying to the whole film. But Regina chose her for good reason to be her servant and flatterer. And Karen was just for decoration, she has no brains, and she doesn't know how to think, but will just run behind and follow the orders of the main one.
Aron looks pretty, but pretty stupid. Couldn't he have figured out that Regina was cheating on him?
Janice and Damian are good friends, but they used Cady, too. Janice wanted revenge, and eventually influenced the further relationship between Kady and Regina.
But in the end, life puts everything in its place. If the parents have the money, they will, of course, arrange for them to study at the university and some work, some super-popular girls have enough cunning to jump out and keep their husband. But more often than not, these "queen" faces far from royal life after school. There are some "queen" who, five years after school, instead of university and working behind their backs, have several divorces and children without fathers, because they are not used to working and doing anything but dirty, criticize and insult. So school popularity and strange rules of the girl world will not always bring happiness and luck in adult life.
The film shows who these queens are and reveals their true identity.
Obstinate and irreconcilable apologists of such a concept as "girl movie" will surely find the ground for long discussions and criticism. Indeed, be prepared for the fact that in the center of the plot of Mean Girls is the story of a close collective of American teenagers, with their passions, topical topics, problems and joys. At the same time, I cannot say that the audience is deliberately narrowed, because if you do not identify yourself with the characters, this does not mean that the story told will seem frankly alien.
The very concept of the plot is far from original, due to the familiar pattern of assimilation of the so-called “newcomer” – in our case, the heroine of Lindsay Lohan. For you, it will not be difficult to predict, if not the entire film to the final credits, then be always one step ahead of the tricks of the writers. In fact, there is no interesting intrigue that makes Mean Girls predictable. Although some small things are served, in places, quite original. It is a story of teenage friendship and hatred, envy and arrogance, loyalty and betrayal.
At one time, the film received respectful attention from the public and critics, especially in the context of the cast. Indeed, where you will see very young Lohan, McAdams and Syfred in one frame and even in front of one mirror. I didn’t see anything particularly remarkable about acting, but it’s worth noting that the trio really evokes a diverse set of emotions, from the most positive to irritable, in the context of watching a youth comedy.
Of course, not without jokes below the belt, but still one of my favorite comedies.
A little retreat.
I don’t like American movies about school and college. Don’t like the hierarchy of children on the popular and downtrodden, angry or cowardly teachers, the stupidity with which they teach, the aggression of students – all these cliches are found in such films with enviable consistency. Or do filmmakers have the wrong view of the American education system, or, if that's true, where is America headed? But most importantly, in this view of school-college score with a sign '+': yes, be a dumb rocker, a brawler and a bully, a boorish teacher, set the goal of life to sleep with someone at prom - it's cool. Or an option for a girl: the meaning of life is ' the queen of the ball' well, and sleep with the dumbest, i.e. the coolest rocker, well, and a support group of something there... I'm scared for kids like that.
On the case.
How is this film different from the others mentioned above? It is the assessment: the system is shown the same, but with such humor and irony that you understand that not everything is lost.
School is shown through the eyes ' newcomer', ' jungle girl' who is not easy to understand the school hierarchy. It shows the way of this girl from a normal teenager to the Queen and back, and the return road was morally much more difficult.
'Popular' here are very insidious and go for popularity on heads. Real bitches, but not without attractiveness. It's a lot of fun. And in general, that neither the hero, the character, very well written. Unlucky in this regard, the hero, but after all, the story is conducted on behalf of Kady, and she is in love with him, because he is so unrealistically perfect.
A movie that always lifts the mood. Everything in it is bright, sparkling, beautiful young faces of future stars, light humor (and the frequency of jokes is decent). I recommend watching
«In the girl world, all the fighting has to be sneaky»
“Mean Girls” is one of my favorite comedies that I will never get tired of watching. Honestly, I watch it for the twentieth time, and still laugh at every joke and admire the beauty of girls and excellent acting.
The plot revolves around sixteen-year-old girl Cady Chiron, who due to some coincidence has never gone to school before. And now, having moved from Africa to America, she has to live the life of an ordinary teenager. Cady has to face such common problems for a girl her age: first love, girlfriends, betrayal, hypocrisy, revenge, jealousy, etc., etc. That’s how she handles it – another question.
Just a great cast - the actors really picked up just great. You believe them, and it’s nice to see them. Lindsey Lohan is perfect for the role of Cady Chiron, but everyone has long known about her magnificent acting.
When you get attacked by a snake, you're supposed to suck the poison out. That's what I had to do. Suck all the poison out of my life.
Rachel McAdams, who plays Regina George, I know from the melodramas The Pledge and The Diary of Memory, and seeing her as a school bitch was very unusual. But here she once again proved that she can cope with any role. Oh, her Great Hysteria with a capital letter - I doubt that anyone in the world still knows how to scream so masterfully.
Do you know what everyone says about you? They say that you're a homeschooled jungle freak, that's a less hot version of me!
Amanda Seyfried (Karen Smith) has long been my favorite actress, and she is just perfect for the role of a glamorous idiot.
It's like I have ESPN or something. My breasts can always tell when it's going to rain. Well... they can tell when it's raining.
This is the first time I see Lacey Chabert, so I guess she will always be associated with Gretchen Wieners.
I'm sorry that people are so jealous of me... but I can't help it that I'm so popular!
Tina Fey and Tim Meadows, as always, were great, this time delighted us in the roles of a math teacher and a school principal. Well, separately, I want to note two actors, over whom I still laugh just tears - Daniel Francesi in the role of gay and best friend of Cady - Damien and Rajeev Surendra in the role of I don't know what - Kevin.
Jonathan Bennett as the object of love Cady – Aaron Samuels left mixed feelings. The guy's really cute and I'd fall in love with him at first sight too, but... the rag just came running at Regina's first call, even after it turned out she was the one who dumped him. I didn’t like it at all.
The film does not last, an hour and a half pass like half an hour, and after watching it there is a pleasant feeling and desire to review it again. Everything is very vital, so it is easy to watch. The jokes are fresh and unused. From me definitely
On the shoulders of the golden wave,
And in the eyes of blue depth,
And the crowd of shalopai was
It's crazy about her.
School years are wonderful almost one hundred percent lead girls on the road depicted in “Mean Girls”. Of course, if they receive secondary education not in classes, the capacity of one and a half people. Since there is neither independence for a serious life (there you need to fry patties and wash jeans), nor financial stability (how much you knock out from your grandparents or boyfriend, then yours, and until your mother lets you to sponsors), and there are not enough batteries to work, study, do business, then the main energy of a girl of 12-18 years is allowed to scandals-intrigues-investigations. Particularly pumped in this case create a gang of "Bounty", which launch fashion in the female coral of the class, in some places reaching and classmates suffering from the attention of queens.
Lindsay Lohan unconditionally pushed all competitors to lead roles in youth films in the first half of the zero. Having external data that does not need cosmetic or photoshop doping, the young and promising actress received gscreen time and provided studios with on-duty profits. In "Mean Girls" the lover of baggy trousers plays a beginner-high schoolgirl, who easily joined the caste of the class leader and eventually undermined her from the inside.
Hope for cinematic delights in the film is not necessary. That's not why they filmed. This is a clear target picture for a fairly active population of mankind. The strength of which is evidenced by periodic gold millions for such art miners as Yura Shatunov, Dima Bilan or Justin Bieber. The main thing here is to get into the resonance of maiden ideals. And this requires a lot of skill so that every failed model or just a goddess could happily slap fluffy eyelashes and declare that everything in this masterpiece is realistic, true, I had almost like that. Therefore, the boys-cavaliers here are unrealistically positive, hairstyles are “cool”, intrigues turn the whole school upside down. And the page of the film is strewn with green petals of positive short reviews.
Like Lindsay’s movies, there’s something fantastic about her. Here, however, does not dissect the Naskar canvas, does not conduct psychotherapy sessions, does not convey good luck with a kiss. She's just good at math. By the way, this moment is associated with one non-obvious for 99% of viewers blunder in the film. In the final mathematical battle, it was necessary to calculate an incomprehensible limit (in what American education, differential calculus pass, and in our country the discriminant will count a rare glamorous pussy). The rival of our heroine gives the correct answer (-1), the jury for some reason does not count it, and Candy, the character of Lohan, uttering at random “does not exist”, takes a significant step towards the American dream of a schoolgirl – to be the queen of the prom.
To my surprise, the movie is not Walt Disney. The same Mark Waters just there shot a red beast in “Freaky Friday”, and Volkswagen-Beetle No. 53 still had to field and pavilion shooting at the studio inspired by the pirate triumph. It is then that Lindsay will be anathema for undisney behavior, and elite drug addicts replenish their accounts with good amounts. In the meantime, Rachel McAdams, Lizzie Kaplan, Lacey Chabert and other cute girls are here in the corps de ballet, which allowed them to more naturally weave their machinations on the screen.
Mean Girls is a nostalgic movie for former class queens who have long sat in call centers or human resources departments. On a wet autumn evening, put a CD with greetings from windy youth and forget for an hour and a half unpaid fat and a boring boss. Therefore, for more than one year eternally young, forever drinking. (crossed out) Lindsay Lohan will smile from screens and monitors in various corners of a geoid.
This is one of the simplest, most uncomplicated, but really worthwhile comedies. I am very impressed with this picture with all its content: actors, humor, soundtracks, plot. The end, the end, the end! And it is impossible to call the film a teenager, its viewer he will find among almost all generations.
Lindsey Lohan in the role of Cady Haron tells us a cognitive story from the life of young people, and even with meaning. All the quotes of the narrator have an important and necessary meaning in order to remember how to treat people of different nationalities, different appearance and appearance. The actress herself played very well and funny. She managed to present her character to the audience so that they loved her and despised and regretted.
Of course, this is a very good thing for Rachel McAdams. She's a villain. And Lacey Shaber is interesting. But my favorite character was "Janis" performed by Lizzie Kaplan. I like this girl for her independence, honesty and directness. It's also a great service.
Jokes, both vulgar and not so, forced to break in half with laughter and pleasure. Dynamics does not make the viewer bored for a second, well-chosen music helps in this.
And at least a film on the theme of “school life”. Cool and suckers.” America has stamped not a little, this movie stands out from the rest.
When you start watching this movie, it seems that nothing will be interesting. But if you watch at least the first 15 minutes, you understand that this movie is about teenagers, about life, or rather “survival” in school, where everyone has their place. There is certainly a group of girls who put themselves above others, hypocrites and bitches.
In this school world and got Cady - a girl from hot Africa. She grew up where all problems are solved by the animal method. But she should learn to behave decently.
I really liked the cast, such classic images. School's first handsome, blonde, and her retinue. On the one hand, everything is so familiar, but on the other, this picture teaches how to get out of a difficult situation, and get a good reputation, as well as make loyal friends.
Of course, the film “Mean Girls” does not claim to be a masterpiece. But if you want to watch a funny youth comedy that will give a good, easy mood - feel free to click on play and relax.
One of the advantages of this film is the cast.
Of course, the star of the film was to become a very successful and popular in those days. She got the lead role of the cute girl Cady, who came with her parents from Africa and got into a cruel world called American high school, where to survive, you need to become a glamorous bitch.
Lindsay played well, however, it was almost eclipsed then almost unknown Rachel McAdams, later gained fame thanks to the films “Memory Diary” and “The Oath”. Rachel as the queen of the school, beautiful bitch Regina is just gorgeous!
It was especially nice to see in the film Amanda Seyfried, who played a charming idiot Karen. Her participation in this film once again proves that she can handle any role - whether it's a seducer in Chloe, a gray mouse in Jennifer's Body, a dreamer in Letters to Juliet or a strong-minded girl in Dear John.
A good script, a nice soundtrack, moderately vulgar jokes, a great story about how, no matter what, it’s important to be yourself.
One of my friends watched a favorite movie quietly in the evening, but without popcorn. Expected another vulgar opus, but ... it turned out not quite that. I was intrigued by the story of the main character. A modest 16-year-old self-taught girl in a new big school, not knowing how to behave, and trying to make friends - painfully familiar! I may not be from Africa, but everything else describes my situation. So the first half of the movie went well. Everything was exaggerated, but funny and quite fascinating.
In the middle of the movie, I really started to miss it. I wonder if all comedies are that long? My will, I would cut the film by at least a third, cutting off many unnecessary and completely unnecessary dialogue.
By the end of this masterpiece, the level of boredom rose to the limit, while the level of the plot fell below nowhere. The scene where the main villain throws pieces of paper from her album, as well as the scene of the all-school psychological session that followed it, were extremely long. The ending, as always, is very fair, beautiful and completely fake. All is well, all are happy and bathe in the rays of universal love.
In general, the film has all the attributes of the American drooling comedy-melodrama – a slightly indecisive GG, who wants to wipe the nose of the main bitch, in the end she turns into a bitch, however, repents, finds true love and becomes the queen of the ball. A classic of the genre, to say the least. What is the value of the genre itself?
5 out of 10
For the design, Lindsey's familiar face and some really good jokes.
