Hockey and ice dancing Oh, I loved Boris Dezhkin, especially ice skating! After the cartoon “Puck! Puck!”, which brought the director great fame, Dezhkin tried, it was, to evade boxing ( “Meteor” in the ring ), but eventually returned to the rink, where he invites viewers in the title of this cartoon.
I am glad that the animation has not undergone any special changes and we see the usual "meteorists" in a simple, but pleasing 2D animation. The lighting and color scheme also correspond to "Puck!", so I'm surprised why "Come to the rink" is not considered a direct sequel to "Match Rematch." Having played back on references to hockey with an already familiar goalkeeper, the director shows us the romantic interest of one of the “Meteorists” to a beautiful and slender dancer. After all, skates are not only hockey, they are also dancing on ice. I mean professional, not beginner steps. In fact, dancing is a more difficult skill than hockey. This is because there are many dangerous jumps. Since the cartoon is a comedy, it is full of conventions, like the fact that a hockey player in a bulky suit manages to perform the same elegant maneuvers as dancers, but we included “Come to the rink” to cheer himself up, right?
Tell me honestly: Do you like the Meteor team? Personally, in the Match Rematch, I was mainly rooting for them. And it is felt that Boris Dezhkin, condemning rudeness and pride, at the same time also had sympathy for the hooligan team. In “Come to the rink” we see only “Meteorites”, and the main character makes one noble deed, after which the team can forgive at least part of the dishonest actions from the past. Only one thing is surprising: where is the wide skating rink for diving? Not only does it violate safety, but also does not correspond to the technology of creating skating rinks: they are poured already in the cold season, there is no liquid water under the ice. In addition, there is no skating rink on the general view. But all this for the sake of the real walrus man, who even wears a mustache similar to the fangs of the northern pinniped.
In this cartoon there are beautiful dances, heroism, a bit of hockey and, of course, a lot of funny smirks - that's why we fell in love with Dezhkin's cartoons. And by the way, "Come to the skating rink" looks many times better than the filmed Dezhkin a year earlier "First autograph". This is what it means to work on a project without rushing.
