The actors didn't save the movie. A gang of robbers prepare to steal a valuable exhibit from a paleontological museum. The exhibit is the only stuffed Dodo bird in the world. The head of the gang, under the guise of a representative of an anonymous philanthropist, arranges a New Year corporate party at a professional level for the museum team. The main calculation is made on the shine of the name of the invited star. Everything goes according to plan, despite the fact that a couple of employees immediately learn about the threat to the museum: a tour guide and a new security guard.
Proving a threat is difficult because it’s unclear what they’re going to steal. In addition, the guard is full of boyish enthusiasm, which the authorities perceive as a mixture of immaturity with stupidity. Therefore, our heroes enter the fight for an unknown exhibit without the help of senior colleagues.
Dodo Day is a rather difficult case of Russian comedy.
The creators tried to compensate for the tense stupidity of the script by inviting several famous actors.
The cast can really impress: Alexander Lenkov, Olga Volkova, Daniil Spivakovsky, Vladimir Sterzhakov, Daria Sagalova as the main bait, as well as occasionally interspersed Valery Garkalin and Albert Filozov.
However, the acting ensemble played in accordance with the above strained stupidity.
Some of the actors are not interesting at all, and some look absolutely talentless. Episodes with Garkalin and Filozov also do not correct impressions.
Some exception to the stupidity and boredom of what is happening is only Daniel Spivakovsky, but by the middle of the story, the style of the picture wins and his talent.
However, in the finale, we can decide that the creators of Dodo Day may apologize for the quality of the picture, pointing to its absolute convention.
