An unexpected film with an unexpected ending Two detectives follow a serial killer who mocks his victims and then beheads them. Between them there are conflicts associated with the eternal problem of generational difference, since the cynicism of the partner, wisely experienced and beaten by life, encounters the idealism and excessive aspiration of the younger colleague. Besides, the younger Tetsuo Najima falls in love with the suspect Saeko Mitarai, who touchingly takes care of her mother and looks like an angel in the flesh, but appearance can be deceiving.
Quite by chance came across this film, and decided to watch as a long time had not seen Japanese detectives worthy of attention. The first thing that catches the eye is a good shooting, the picture pleases the eye. I also liked the actors, the girls were like a selection, but in the case of Japanese films, this is more the norm than the exception. The masculine lineup is no different, but the fight scenes in the beginning made me wonder (kung fu panda just rests). But apart from the actors and the pictures, I was delayed by the plot. Someone doesn't just kill people, he also beheads corpses, which gives the case some sinisterness.
By genre, this is of course a detective in the first place, the search for a criminal takes the bulk of the time. Second, it's a drama, who is familiar with the genre of Japanese horror films, I will understand. The girl lives with a sick mother and selflessly care for her, but the mother herself wants to leave the best, the mother abuses and beats her daughter for the slightest fault. It may shock the viewer who has not seen such films before, but being familiar with Asian films where this kind of thing happens all the time makes it tougher and less receptive, and yet it's hard to look at it when children are offended in movies.
Of the drawbacks, I didn't like the fact that the detective introduced some semblance of romance, and it looked a little silly, as in the serial and it did not fit into the detective line. But what shocked me more was what happened after half the movie. I don’t even know how it relates to what began to happen to the main characters, it’s not funny, it’s not sad just a movie to the wind. It all started out so well. It didn’t look terrible but stupid, the director, instead of creating a strong detective or bloody thriller, hit the unnecessary strange movie “about people in black.”
Verdict, the finale is just wild horror in a word, such a movie I definitely did not expect to see. For those who like unexpected films with an unexpected ending, be sure to watch this film, it will not disappoint you.
