The idiocy of a glaring incident. Vince Vaughn rides on charisma and wandering amid a raging world of passions! Such a powerful slogan could be the title of Vaughn’s creation on the theme of fatherhood. Vince is a good actor, no kidding, but his talent melted as much as possible in a puddle of stamped comedies for a wide audience. The situation, as of today, was saved only by independent tapes of Craig Zeller and the second season of the True Detective. But, time after time, Vince did not give up hope to again break into the pedestal of comedic glory, as it was with the Uninvited Guests.
Won immediately tries to create something life-motivating: His hero is a small crook with a big heart vegetating in the shadow of his own brothers and breathing business. And yes, it’s happening in New York, and yes, Vaughn’s hero is Jewish, and so American-Orthodox. I noticed that they like it (the writers, not the Jews) to exploit it in the big apple format. What to do: The racial Jewish mafia in New York City also needs its dividends.
What does the Good Father really do? A message. Fatherhood, the desire to find yourself when you are a little over forty, and the world around you vegetates with you. The idea of family reunification through an element of comedic confrontation with different, but perfectly good-natured types of alleged “children”. Vince Vaughn perfectly copes with the role of a sudden dad, and even more, on his seen back this film holds. Sometimes naive, but a simple plot does not pretend to be original, because I repeat, all the originality was borne on the shoulders of Vince Vaughn and he proudly carries this burden. This case works exactly until the middle of the film, then Vince is either tired or let it all take its course.
Samotek resulted in a cliché on the cliché, and to the foreground came already declared in the title role Vaughn, and all possible stereotypes of the Big Apple, where the wily creators did not change the ears to sew the theme of the realization of the emigrant in the country of opportunities, and through this lever, under the finale, sprinkle the set with a metaphor: They say that even a high-aged slacker can find himself through hard work honesty and dedication. Where? That's right, in glorious New York.
And there is no fault of the actor, just in the cinematic guild of producers similarly there is and lives such a concept as "state order", which is well paid, and even finds its viewer. This is it.
David Wozniak is a simple guy with a good heart. He’s stuck in debt and is the biological father of 533 children. That sounds scary, right?
But David doesn’t get upset and finds it an opportunity to start a new normal life. But will it be normal under these conditions?
David proves to us that he is! The film turned out to be very easy to perceive, very kind and very touching. I didn’t skimp on the word ‘very’ because I think this story has a lot of meaning. You don’t have to be blood relatives to love the person next to you, to be closer to each other and kinder to everyone. We must not forget that we are all human and that each of us has our own problems. And when you solve them not alone, but with someone's help, it brings a completely different result that can immediately unite completely different people at first glance.
David Wozniak is a man with an absolutely huge and kind heart, in which there is love and attention, patience and the desire to help both his family and 533 children.
It depends on us and only on us how we live this life. And perhaps, as we begin to improve our own, bringing love and joy into it, we ourselves will not notice how we can change the life of another person for the better (in this case, as many as 500 people).
How do you make money at twenty without getting out of your comfort zone? David Wozniak will talk about it. The best option is sex. But, unfortunately, with myself, although for the benefit of society - in a sperm bank. Wozniak, who is experiencing a midlife crisis, worked tirelessly in his youth, which turned out incredibly: he became the father of 533 children. And this is partly, it seems, a subtle self-irony of filmmakers, because Hollywood pleases itself more often than others. Producers like to copy successful projects, which was the Canadian “Starbuck” Ken Scott, who was invited, two years later, to shoot an American remake with the famous face of Vince Vaughn. And it is not clear why, however, as one famous quartet sings: “Money, Money, Money”.
Unexpected children want to know who their biological father is, and a stunned Wozniak decides to incognito get to know some of his descendants. The director again talks about the eternal problem of parents and children, and that family happiness is above all else. In general, “Delivery Man” is the brightest example of a completely unnecessary copypaste, which, nevertheless, judging by the estimates of viewers, has become more popular than the original. However, the remake of Scott, in addition to self-copying, not much to pounce on, because the plot is the same - funny and in something entertaining, accents are placed as well, and the most successful new joke - about golden hands. Although no: the most successful joke is that the future Star-Lord gained 27 kilograms for his role in an average comedy, and Bale cried somewhere. In general, in "Delivery Man" conflicts are simplified, difficulties are overcome quickly, everything is easy and simple, but at the same time kind and somehow sweet, which can not be taken away from this comedy, with which you can pass a difficult evening.
A funny original comedy about a forty-year-old meat dealer who suddenly has 533 children, 142 of whom want to meet their father.
No, I'm lying, not original. In 2011, the film “Daddy” was released in Canada, the plot of which was copied word for word, moment for moment by Ken Scott. Plagiarism under the proud name "remake". But since the film is allowed to be copied, it will not pay attention to the Canadian film, but consider this one.
As a comedy, I liked the movie. The funny protagonist is David Wozniak. The typical loser, who slowly realizes old mistakes, admits all his children, and in the end has 534 children from a beloved woman. His nickname, “The Miracle,” made him laugh during the entire session at the cinema. His best friend Brett is also a loser, but in terms of advocacy, he decided to defend Wozniak. This couple laughed well.
Wozniak’s children are different and... problematic. One daughter is a drug addict, the other is of easy behavior, the first son is a sociopath, the second is a paralyzed and mentally disabled person. And only 142 of them! It is not surprising that out of all 533 children, children with a difficult fate, lonely, looking for love and care, wanted to find a father.
I would have liked it because I liked the comedy itself. But one point disappointed - a forgotten disabled son at the very end of the film. I'm sorry, but I won't forgive that.
Siyakwamukela, everyone! Great movie! Just a brilliant production by Ken Scott! The film for the better refutes the expectations placed on it as another passing comedy from the genre of “one day”.
After all, the synopsis, the trailer of the tape and even the stay in the lead role of comedian Vince Vaughn – all this indicated that the film will be comedic and its only goal is to make the audience laugh! So, everyone who thought so, in complete surprise will finish watching this without exaggeration Masterpiece, which of course is the merit of not only the director, but also the team of producers of the tape headed by Andre Roulet!
Vince Vaughn, of course, in most episodes looks very humorous and comedic, but sometimes... The fossilized expression of his face is in stark contrast to what is happening on screen, and it is so captivating to the viewer! In fact, the viewer begins to realize that he is not watching a comedy, or rather not quite a comedy, about the 15th minute, when the hero Vaughn begins to help all his biological children. And penetrating to the heart of the scene in the home for the disabled simply can not leave the viewer indifferent to the film. It is impossible to understand the special it was the reception of Scott to divert attention to the comedic side or not, but the fact that this technique is very effective and original impossible to argue!
Against this background, the rest of the team just had to not spoil this work of art and they succeeded. No one allowed any obvious joints. Operators worked normally, the music was always in place and in the theme, the artists did not spoil much, but they were not required to. The only black spot is the performance of the rest of the cast. Starting from the obviously screwed Chris Pet, and ending with Jack Rayner, who plays a character whose acting his boss gives a bright and clear judgment, applicable to the actor himself.
But in general, of course, the tape leaves more than a pleasant impression and deserves to characterize its morality with the words of Mozart himself: “Life is a smile even when tears flow down the face.”

Freedom exists as long as you are willing to accept responsibility. (c)
Today, the phrase “live for today” is misunderstood by many. Hiding behind it as an excuse for their way of life, people turn on themselves, throwing everyone out of the zone of their environment, leaving only themselves and their momentary desires as a priority. trampling on all existing human morals and norms of behavior, such people go over their heads, do not disdain any villains, revel in their own imaginary greatness and do not take responsibility for anything.
The frivolous David Wozniak (Vince Vaughn) lives in the manner of a dragonfly from Krylov’s fable: not thinking about the future, not really caring about others, putting his own problems at the center of his world exclusively, into which he falls solely for the sake of personal selfishness. For days on end, he twists and twists, without looking, crushes the feelings of other people from his environment, thereby wounding without a blink of conscience those rare who really cherish them. He does not even assume for a second that such behavior risks losing them completely and irrevocably, and therefore continues to trample on them with the grace of the bear, spitting on everything but himself magnificent. And this continues until he is not informed that he, in his student years, handed over six hundred samples to a sperm bank and made a good living on it, became the father of five hundred children who through the court stubbornly seek the name of their hapless parent.
Today, under the influence of fashion, viewers increasingly prefer arthouse and author's cinema, blindly wandering among the paintings in search of hypothetical higher meaning, often not being able to appreciate the simple and uncomplicated truths that give such films as "Father is good". From different angles, the family life is shown, each family with its own stupidities, anxieties and troubles: for example, a friend of David Brett (Chris Pratt): a loser lawyer, a faithful companion of the main character and a good-natured father of his voluminous family, or here, David’s father, who supports his unsatisfactory child despite everything in all troubles and joys – even if he does not guarantee a sweet ending, but claims the possibility of real happiness. Though difficult, but at the same time able to make life brighter and better.
The plot of this picture at first glance causes a slight grin and implies a huge platform for creative development of screenwriters-comedians. Everywhere in the picture you can feel the atmosphere of a comedy film, you feel that it is the comedy background that lies at the root. In fact, it is not possible to call this picture very easy.
At the heart of the events is the father of 533 children born through artificial insemination and their lawsuit against the clinic that carried out the procedure, hiding the identity of their biological father. Quite absurd and unborn. In these circumstances and begs for a non-trivial comedy plot, which, according to subjective feelings, the director and screenwriter wanted to include in the film, but in fact it turned out a dramatic picture, although not imposing on the viewer burden, as from ordinary representatives of the genre of drama. This is where the movie gets attention.
The creators managed on the frames of the full-length to consider family relations from many sides, to raise many problems. It is no wonder that this is the situation with finding their real parents to children “from a test tube” (I do not like this expression), the realization that they are completely ordinary people, that such as they are not uncommon. The creators showed the unity of the family, albeit in a very hypertrophied form, but therefore the importance only increases. The problems of creating a family, employment in everyday matters of survival, postponing family life for tomorrow are also touched upon. The relationships within the ordinary family, traditions and heredity are shown. Acceptance, forgiveness of past mistakes, acceptance “in spite”, blindness of the media and their impact on people’s opinions.
The words, of course, are terrible, but all this is reflected in the film in such a form that the disinterested viewer will not have the slightest suspicion of their presence “between the lines”, because the film’s shell is quite charming. There are also scenes with a rather obvious emotional onslaught where it really squeezes in the chest, but they are plenty diluted with other soap.
My father was really good at it. It is recommended to watch, both for leisure ordinary, and for thinking and feeling. More, of course, for the second, because some aftertaste (with a slight tingling in the chest) remained. And reviews are not just written that way.
The review is based on purely personal views and may not reflect the true location from a cinematic point of view.
A great light comedy about a randomly large father loser who decided to try to be a real father, to become an angel guardian of grown-up children, whom he one by one begins to recognize.
The film is funny, it contains many great jokes that do not let you get bored throughout the film. That is, there is no such thing that you laugh at some joke, and then miss half an hour, everything happens dynamically.
The film not only makes you laugh from the heart, it also has a deep meaning, the meaning of virtue. I was moved to the core, the moment with a disabled child. At first I thought that the main character would be afraid of responsibility and run away, but he overcame his fear and took responsibility for the guy, began to visit him, take care of him.
I enjoyed watching this movie, so I recommend it.
In 2011, the little-known Canadian director Ken Scott put in his homeland a rather original, but not very popular picture called “Daddy”, which told the story of a middle-aged man who unexpectedly became a father to 533 children thanks to percussion work in a sperm bank. And even if the wide audience did not get the opportunity to get acquainted with the project, but the producers of the recognized Hollywood studio Dreamworks pictures clearly saw considerable cash potential in Scott's story and entrusted the director to direct the remake of his own project, christened as "Good Father" (in the original - "The Deliverer"). Only this time, Scott had to deal with a much larger budget and several Hollywood stars on the list of performers. The main male role was entrusted to the guru of modern American comedy Vince Vaughn, who is somewhat unusual to see in one film without the company of loyal colleagues in the person of Owen Wilson or Will Farrell. To play along with Vaughn this time will be a rising star Chris Pratt, who for a series of comedic supporting roles is about to shoot on the leading role along with "Guardians of the Galaxy". Well, the main female role was entrusted to gaining considerable popularity thanks to roles in the First Avenger 2 and The Avengers, Kobe Smulders. A considerable budget of 26 million, which in Hollywood is considered somewhat modest, but in skilful hands allows you to reveal a lot of interesting ideas of the inexperienced director, popular faces in the frame and a pleasant advertising campaign that presents us as a sharp, and at the same time soulful comedy for the whole family - all said that the new version of the old plot from Ken Scott was supposed to be a hit. But for some reason, that didn't happen. So it is worth a closer look at this movie to understand the details of its appeal.
So, the plot of the film tells us the story of a slightly misplaced deliverer of fresh meat named David Wozniak (Vaughn). Despite the fact that he is clearly over 40, the hero leads a carefree lifestyle almost without thinking about his future. However, even so, David manages to get into a whole bunch of adventures. His girlfriend, Emma (Smulders), is pregnant. Secondly, the hero owes a lot of money to a dangerous gangster. And third, David overtook his past, in which he was a regular sperm donor under the nickname “Wonder Bull”. Due to negligence, David becomes the biological father of 533 people. And despite the fact that all the privacy documents were signed and certified in due time, many of David's children are demanding through the court to find out their father's name. And even if they do not need money, but responsibility for what is happening and shame for their rash act can ruin the hero’s future life. But is it so bad to be the father of so many children? And can a middle-aged man break his whole essence and change for the better? We will find the answer in the film “Good Father”!
Like the vast majority of paintings created at the studio of the legendary Steven Spielberg, “Good Father” celebrates family values, leaving sharp jokes only in the frame of the overall plot. The picture begins with the introduction of the main character performed by Vince Vaughn . In fact, the actor once again played his favorite image of the average American, who is haunted by systematic failures. And most of them happen through the fault of the hero. It is worth noting that quite often the characters of Vaughn or do not have a family ("Personnel", "Uninvited Guests"), whether the whole film goes to a kindred reconciliation ("Four Christmases"). And finally in the film "Good Father" Vaughn embodies a hero who ironically becomes a member of the largest family on the planet. However, all his sins and attempts to cash in on the situation still cannot make us believe for a second that David Wozniak may end up being a mean man. So Vince Vaughn, on the one hand, did not betray his favorite role of a charming crook with a pure heart, who, although doing good, in the end does not break his inner self, and on the other, brilliantly sang family values. And this is very nice, because such roles Vaughn still face.
As for the heroine Kobe Smulders, it is she who is the main factor that finally makes Wozniak think about his future and throw all frivolity out of his head. However, as important as Emma is to the plot, she is still eclipsed by Chris Pratt along with her character, Brett. This hero is David’s best friend, a father of many children and a loser lawyer. But it is the brewing court against a friend that allows Brett to re-enter the legal Olympus and at the same time make good money. Very pleased with the fact that Brett does not appear before us as a boring head of the family, but acts as a cheerful à la Wozniak driven into the cage of family life. Especially original creators prescribed his extraordinary communication with their own children, for whom this hero is more a friend than a full-fledged father.
However, most of the timekeeping is occupied by the adventures of the protagonist to his many children. Of course, he is not in a hurry to reveal his essence to them, and gradually turns from an interested foreign uncle into a kind of guardian angel who, under an anonymous guise, helps offspring in certain undertakings. And this fact of the plot adds the necessary dynamics to the picture, because we do not dwell on the same characters, but again and again go on a trip to new ones who are ready to surprise us with their extraordinary characters. In addition, it is in Wozniak’s relationship with children that the real drama of the plot opens, which did not have to count on after a carefree trailer. The authors of the film tried to demonstrate a variety of personalities who are full of serious adversity and joy, misunderstanding and search for happiness. Especially touching look scenes of communication David with a broken paralysis son, who needs only that he sometimes visited.
In conclusion, I want to say that “Good Father” is a great family film, which quite original asserts family values as the basis of our lives. The filmmakers managed to find a balance between morality and humor, showing us a great story of human relationships. I don’t dispute that Ken Scott’s picture has its own inconsistencies, annoying characters (especially Viggo, one of David’s sons and a creepy nerd), speculation (the nickname “Wonder Bull” will haunt you until the very end), but this has little effect on the overall result. I recommend this movie to all connoisseurs of charming, pleasant family comedies, which are guaranteed to return you a piece of good. So have a nice look!
“Good Father” is a remake of the Canadian comedy “Daddy”, which was also shot by the same Ken Scott, only with a more impressive budget and Vince Vaughn in the title role.
The new film almost completely copies the original, except for small details. The same hero, the same story with artificial insemination and 533 children, the same scriptwriters and a good comedy actor in the title role - it is not clear what went wrong, but the film has huge problems with humor. Exhausted jokes and second-rate dialogues look out of place on a completely flat story that almost does not sag, and has a predictable, but very cute ending.
In fact, on the universal positive, the film comes out. All heroes love, help and constantly hug each other. And even the main character - a lazy and a douchehead appears before the viewer as a good-natured and excellent guy, able to change for the benefit of family and friends. Even to isolate the flat talk about the “great masturbator” and add quality humor, the picture would go to a completely different level. However, with such a scenario and implementation, “Good Father” looks careless.

Vince Vaughn is an excellent comedy actor, films with his participation almost always guarantee a great mood during watching, and the actor himself will outplay any of his colleagues on the set. The new comedy “Good Father” only confirmed that Vaughn can bear the whole film on his shoulders, and make it not only funny but also unforgettable.
The main thing in this film is that the creators tried not to vulgarize it. After all, the theme of the film is very interesting, the main character at once learns that he is the biological father of 533 children. Of course, to dismiss such a topic is quite easy. But what's surprising is that the writers took the risky step of turning standard comedy into a well-crafted emotional drama about a person's growing up from a moral point of view. And if the first half of the film will look like a comedy that can fall apart closer to the final, the second half corrects everything the movie becomes kinder and more interesting, and such a story will definitely want to watch until the end, because at present it is difficult to find a film that can combine several properties that are so popular with viewers.
As a result, we can say the following: “Father is good” is a good, kind comedy, which is definitely worth watching and enjoying watching.
Vince Vaughn in the film ' Father is good at it' showed how a person from a frivolous guy, a carefree bachelor, and a completely irresponsible boy, under the pressure of the circumstances, turns into a real man who knows how to keep his word, and answer for his actions. What not to take away from the main character is a good and big heart. In fact, the film ' Father well done' much more than just a light comedy, the film carries a certain meaning, teaches us to make the right decisions in life and not be afraid of difficulties, offers us to see how certain actions, even the most insignificant and courage can change the life and destiny of a person, make it happier, kinder and better. The film looks very easy, the actors play at the highest level, the whole picture is accompanied by beautiful music.
' Well Father' is a film for the whole family, here you will find humor, life, and cheerful company, after the film there is only a good mood, and the desire to be useful to the world and people around, a pleasant viewing.

It’s a bit strange to admit, but the new Vince Vaughn movie is defying expectations — it’s definitely not better, but it’s not even worse — it’s just a different movie. The main connecting film idea of outlandish fatherhood over five hundred children is quite interesting and even original for the slightly stagnant genre of Hollywood comedy. This concept could be launched in any way - from the utter absurdity to a decent family movie. In the end, we have just as much comedy as drama. There are no moments when you tear your stomach out of sincere laughter - only a periodic smile. Only a few scenes that cause a strong emotional response, which is already, admittedly, a big plus for a project of this kind.
The plot itself develops more than expected - you can predict both the main moments of the story, and individual actions, and the reaction of the characters. Therefore, special absorbing interest should not be expected - easy enthusiasm for what is happening is enough to watch the film to the end. However, in some places, the project suddenly evokes a swarm of thoughts on topics such as fathers and children, family, responsibility. In the scenes where the protagonist finds one of his children in a care facility, they make us completely forget that we were waiting for a kind of comedy. Although the film as a whole is not remarkable, some of its elements are embedded in the memory and remain there at least days after watching.

I've been waiting for this movie. When I first saw the trailer, I wanted to watch this movie. But during the rental in the cinema, I went to work in another city, there was a lot of business and somehow did not work out to go to the cinema. And there was no pirated copy on the Internet, so I only watched it now, in March 2014, when the film was officially released on DVD. The movie is beautiful, it looks in one breath. All the characters look so good and beautiful, the actors play at such a level that even when the film was over, I watched the credits for another three minutes in the hope that now there will be some post scene, as usual in Marvel films. Let me tell you a little more about the movie:
(1) Actors. Well, of course, Vince Vaughn is an amazing actor. I’ve seen a lot of movies with him and he always amazes with his play: the simplicity and charisma of the character is amazing. But in addition to him, all the other heroes were chosen just amazingly. Even the characters that are supposed to push away (addict, fat drunk guy) – they are so cute and charming that they will appeal to you. I would not change any of the actors involved: 10 out of 10
2) Soundtrack. Well, something that after watching the film I wanted to download and put on a phone call here of course, but all the music looks very organic throughout the film. 8 out of 10.
(3) Directing work. I’ve never seen Ken Scott before, so I can’t compare his work to previous ones. Insanely pleased with the absence of empty scenes, when there is no action, and why this was left after editing is unclear. There were no lyrical half-hour retreats, inconsistencies and stupid mistakes. Very pleased with the lack of stupid vulgar humor on the verge of foul. For this, thank you very much to the director that even such a comedy on such a topic could not be vulgarized or distorted. 9 out of 10
(4) Plot. Many write that the plot is completely written off from the movie “Daddy”. I haven’t seen this movie, so I won’t say that. For me personally, this topic is the first to occur, and it is shown very vividly and realistically, looks in one breath. 10 out of 10
After watching the film, I read reviews and was surprised. Many people say that the film is absolutely not funny, and you should not even spend time on it. The jokes are stupid and down-to-earth. Hello! People! If you want to poke fun at silly humor, watch Movie 43. This is primarily a kind and soulful comedy, there are no toilet jokes and a reprise below the belt. Read the description before viewing.
Vince Vaughn is a textured and prominent man with a specific appearance. He looks great in certain roles. Or, more specifically, movies like this. He manages to perfectly play loyal friends, cheerful people and, as it turned out, cool dads. On screen, Vince feels confident. And more importantly, it's always nice to see. Although he doesn’t experiment much with genres, I don’t get bored of his similar roles. Today, I tasted another film with Vaughn. The film was called “The Father Is Good.” Let's talk about him. Briefly and essentially.
For the storyline, taken a very interesting and funny idea. David Wozniak works in the family business. Namely, he works with his father's brothers. He works as a driver of a meat truck. Despite his negligence, looseness and irrelevance in work, people love David. How about not loving him? Good-natured and cheerful tall man. But as you may have noticed (or at least I’ve noticed for a long time), such people like difficulties and problems. They love to get in close contact with these guys. And now, our hero has problems with his beloved girl. And she's also pregnant. But, most interestingly, fate saved for later. As a student, David was a regular at a sperm bank. He is the biological father of 533 children. Wow. Right. Children, like all children, want to know who they are. The only thing that is known about him is his pseudonym, the Miracle. Then there's no point in telling. The audience is waiting for the adventures of the main character. His “undercover work”, acquaintance with children and their protection. Yeah, yeah. The father-record holder becomes a guardian angel for his children. I think it's going to end, I know without me. It turned out to be a good family, moderately instructive, moderately funny and good movie. A small amount of humor and funny scenes, skillfully diluted by screenwriters, dramatic and touching episodes. This parallel, of course, goes to the picture in plus. The mood of the viewer changes with the mood of the tape. I cannot say that this story surprised me very much. But he did, and he touched it. In general, he coped with the task. The actors did their job too. Chris Pratt kept Vince company. Kobe Smulders is good and convincing in her role. I remember Andrzej Blumenfeld. Among the children, there were also familiar faces. The music is satisfactory.
In general, it is possible to watch, and even necessary. If you don’t compare this movie to the old version, like I did, you’ll have a good time. By the way, I haven’t seen the old version. And, I don’t like, there are comparisons. Just enjoy yourself. I would like to give the film seven and a half points. But since the rating system of the site does not provide for this, I put a solid seven points. There is no doubt that such films should be made and, of course, it is necessary to watch them. Enjoy your visit.
- Why is sperm donation more expensive than blood donation? Because it is a handmade work...!
Good Father is a commercial project and work on the mistakes of director and screenwriter Ken Scott, who has been exploiting his script for the second time. The first low-budget Canadian version of the film we saw in 2011 and it was called Papa, where everything that happens to the hero Patrick Ward is duplicated by Well Father to the smallest detail. I was very puzzled by the reason why they shoot a second time in first grade, until I looked at the figures of budgets and fees of both films.
Vince Vaughn’s charisma, and the Americanization of the painting, brought their millions to Ken Scott’s rework.
David Wozniak’s life ran down his sleeves and was not distinguished by reliability, wealth, family values or other attributes of ordinary life of the average American. By forty, all he has is promiscuous sexual relations with a lot of girlfriends, adorning the wall of “victory” photos, the parental home, the furnishings preserved since David’s childhood, a football, golf balls, children’s toys, table football – all these are not objects of the situation of successful people. David himself works as a meat truck driver, he is late everywhere and lets everyone down. And the main thing he has is a debt of 80 thousand dollars invested in a pyramid scam, and he is trying to pay it off by growing withering hemp in pots that adorn the windowsills of his house.
And that's not all. David received 533 children who wanted to know who their father was after 693 donations. There's a lawsuit going on, deciding whether or not to publicize his father's name, and inside David, there's a struggle to admit to his children or not who he is. Having the children's personal files in his hands, David examines them with interest at night. Curiosity leads David to a basketball game where his son is a basketball star. Then he helps the daughter of a drug addict, the son of a bartender, the son of a tour guide, the son of a musician and helping his children, David can no longer stop. And to everything adds the pregnancy of the girlfriend of David, the irresponsible David who managed to screw up so much in his life.
Drawing parallels from the film to life, I want to think about the fact that we are all residents of the planet Earth from one biological father - this is of course a reason to live in peace and love with one family, but reality dictates to us completely different conditions.
“Children are like vacuum cleaners.” They will suck all your energy, your money, your time, your hair. Do you remember I had a long hayer?
Unlike other comedies with family overtones, "Good Father" does not tell us how to properly raise children, and who is in charge in the house. This film carries slightly different, but no less important family values, and sets a great example for many fathers.
The main character of the picture David Wozniak is among his relatives in last place. He's a sloppy, grown-up kid, up to his ears in debt, and the only thing they trust him to do is deliver meat in a truck, and he doesn't always do it well. One day, David learns that from 91 to 93, as a sperm donor under the pseudonym “wonder bull”, he unwittingly became the biological father for 533 children. Now they are all in their 20s, and they, united, sue the clinic to find out the name of their father.
I immediately want to say thank you to Ken Scott for the fact that he decided to reshoot his Canadian hit “Daddy”, adapting it for Hollywood and releasing it to the masses. Otherwise, how would we then learn this, albeit fictional, but very funny and interesting story about the grief-father, who became the biological ancestor for more than fifty already grown up children? Not spoiled by ordinary Hollywood vulgar humor, Kenne Scott tells us a story kind and dramatic, but at the same time absolutely boring and filled with funny and cute family moments. A large density of good jokes, many of which not only smile, but make you laugh in a full voice, do not let you get bored throughout the picture, and good family relationships affect, giving the viewing some kind of melodramatic shade and a pleasant warm mood. In general, "Good Father" is one of the best examples of combining drama and comedy, where the latter, although much more prevalent, is not the dominant component.
As for the actors, then Vince Vaughn, who played the main role of a father of many children here, in principle showed nothing new, but limited himself to his ordinary state of sloppy life and the corporate style of the loser. Vince, of course, is not the greatest actor in Hollywood, but in such roles he is very impressed with me, he knows how to do it and he is damn good, great and with flamboyance it works. I also really liked my father’s friend in the film, grief lawyer Chris Pratt. Chris’s character is a father of four children, and it’s a sad fact. Everything about his character in the movie was very funny. For "Good Father" Chris Pratt became a real find of the second plan and gave the audience unforgettable and very cheerful emotions.
Perhaps "Good Father" someone will make you think about family values, someone will make you remember your family, but the fact that he will raise everyone's mood is definitely! Very positive and kind film, and I recommend everyone to read it, you can in the family circle for the best effect. Pleasant viewing!
Of course, here Vince Vaughn did not come out of his usual role as an idiot and a loser, who everything goes awry, but he is desperately trying to fix it. This film was no exception to his list of paintings. Loser Wozniak (Vince Vaughn's hero) in the past on an industrial scale donated sperm, like, it's simple, even pleasant, and even pay well, and thus unwittingly, got 500 with something children. Well, then the classic of the genre - a friend-loser helps to cope with difficulties, the girl quit, but they have love.
The plot is worn to holes, just every time the writers put the characters in different circumstances, assuming that they will make it (or not) funnier. In this case, in my opinion, the film is a three because it is not very funny and not very catchy, even when pressed on pity and compassion. For example, the story about a sick child did not last, as if they introduced him into the plot, but did not press where this child was when everyone came to the hospital, somehow sharply cut this line, although I was already ready to cry.
And it seemed to me that Vaughn somehow burdens already this image of the eternal sucker, he is, perhaps, a great dramatic, and always plays idiots on the truck in dirty T-shirts.
I can’t say it’s a great movie for Friday or for a friendly company, it’s more likely that total idleness makes sense to watch it.
Relatively unpopular tape with quite popular main actor and always "relatively" disliked by me actress, Kobe Smulders. I understand that the latter is very famous, especially among Western youth, because of her role in the famous TV series “How I Met Your Mother”, but, firstly, this series made her so, and not, on the contrary, and secondly, her roles in the films “Silent Harbor” as in “The Avengers”, to put it mildly, do not pull on the “big movie”. And in this tape, it's just not to the village, not to the city, sorry. I also note the bad role of one of the sons of the main character, playing a bartender. You look and you just want to turn off or rewind the film. However, these are all my personal faults. Whatever.
But still, casting is everything for a feature film, where there is only good humor and an interesting general idea, which in fact need to beat. It is necessary to play out the suddenly awakened fatherly feelings, to get to know your newfound children, and therefore to get to know yourself a little better. In the film with a certain philosophical interpretation, they try to portray a man at a new stage of growth. Not just physical, not material, but rather spiritual. You can't just be a father. The soul man is like a boat, which is carried away after various storms and currents of bad and good mood. And fatherhood should not depend only on the mood (it is good when it is good, but there are also black stripes). It's more about deciding whether to be or not to be. If so, despite all the hardships. The above is only mentioned in the film. The main thing on which the film plays is two parallel concepts: “father” and “biological father”. Who knows, maybe they will meet in this movie.
Still, it is interesting to watch what story the hapless father got into, and how exactly he will find a way out of it, what decisions he will choose.

Where is the most capricious audience in the world? Of course, in the United States. Foreign films come with subtitles, so the mass audience does not like them. But the audience, which considers itself a cultural elite, is not averse to watching European and festival films - even if it is limited to distribution, in a narrow network of cinemas and in their native language. But they are, alas, a minority. And especially for everyone else in America, the production of remakes is established - the most successful overseas tapes. Moreover, re-making films are often trusted by their directors - a very thoughtful production decision. The cash register for such projects is practically provided. The calculation here is simple - if these tapes collected good money in their country, then they will ensure successful fees in the United States.
"Good Father" - a comedy with Vince Vaughn - just from such films. And the remake came out very quickly. Only in 2011 in Canada, the film became a box office hit, and now in 2013 it is released in the States. The Canadian analogue, which is remarkable, shot in French, and therefore it was mainly in French-speaking Quebec. I saw the film directed by Ken Scott in 2011 and was absolutely delighted. Because the film not only offered an original story about a father who had 533 children due to a mistake in a sperm bank, but also pushed the boundaries of the genre of comedy, offering the viewer to immerse themselves in the inner world of the main character, think about family values, it was about a person who discovered a unique talent of “fatherhood” – in general, it was what is commonly called a drama.
The American analogue is not much different from the Canadian film "Daddy" - except that the creators added a little American humor, although humor in the film was enough. The funniest moments in the original version were already there. It seemed to me that most of the new comedy dialogues appeared in the communication of the protagonist with his lawyer friend, the father of four children and a very modest talent as a lawyer. And in the first film, he was perfectly played, and in the second, Chris Pratt performed this role wonderfully. According to legend, for the role, he gained some incredible amount of kilograms (27?), but I would not say that the fat deposits are very noticeable - a Canadian lawyer friend is still an order of magnitude thicker. He is a very comic character. And when he announces after the trial that he and David are lovers, it’s hard not to laugh. Especially during the subsequent dialogue. "Hello, lover. How did your mother react? “She said she had long suspected. That we are a good couple.
The film, like the original, was great. I didn’t like the remake only the lead actor – Vince Vaughn. Claired and tall, he by some ridiculous chance always plays losers, although he does not pull on the loser - simply because of external data. In my opinion, the Canadian Patrick Ward was much more suited to the role of an untempered, but kind, “great masturbator”. “Superbull” who donated a lot of children – because of eternal problems with money.
By the way, the story is not so fantastic. The world press once wrote about fathers who had both 200 and 500 children. So, a little bit of fantasy — and you can imagine that all this phantasmagoria happened in reality.
The main advantage of the film is that it is very kind. This is a great movie to improve your mood. The Canadian original was more dramatic. I don’t even know what this is about, because the director meticulously repeats almost every scene. Or acting. Whether in the timing of a number of episodes - some are shortened, others are made longer. Whether the increased number of jokes kills the dramatic effect. But I will still give the film the highest praise - it deserves it, as does director Ken Scott. This is definitely a movie for me. I hope you enjoy it too.
The authors of this film can be safely patted on the shoulder for creating an absurd and at the same time ridiculous to laughing idea, such a miracle bull has produced offspring with half a thousand, will not occur to everyone. In practice, the film "Good Father" turned out to be as luscious and frivolous as other paintings of the genre, only involved in another topic.
There is such a scoundrel, working in a family business, who hung on some difficult guys eighty thousand dollars. And then, out of nowhere, another craft of the past surfaced, and now the clinic, to which he supplied goods of his own production, was approached with a collective petition, the purpose of which is to reveal his identity.
Before getting involved in the case, the main character decides to find out at least part of the offspring that remained after him, without conceding himself getting closer to some of them. And then everything goes as it should in the genre - poor children, without a father grew up so much, although who took care of them, and did not become clear. Each of them is unhappy in something, touching music, crocodile tears Vince Vaughn, and it seems that the director was enough.
Yes, being honest, nothing was enough - drama as such in the film is not visible, the frivolity of what is happening completely destroys the potential drama of the idea, and comedy in the film does not smell at all. The film "Good Father" a typical passing luscious comedy, shot, alas, in the worst traditions of Hollywood, and only for the idea, albeit absurd to the ceiling, and for the purity of the film from the usual now vulgarities, the film can be seen to the end.

How could you make so much money? I have golden hands!
The film “Good Father” is a light comedy of TNT format. The film is predictable, carries no surprises, is filled with a lot of all sorts of clichés and long conversations about the meaning of life. The U.S. has a very strange humour: all the segments that can seem funny to Americans are already shown in the trailer (only laughter is missing). A lot of domestic scenes and pseudo-documentary footage. You get the impression that you are watching a family album of people you don’t even know and that makes you want to yawn. There are many “typical” characters in the film: a typical Jew, a typical loser, a typical gay boy, etc., as you can guess from the trailer. I think, however, that the Chinese, who have more than one child in the family can not have – this film is especially appreciated. The only thing that touched his life was a disabled boy who smiled in the sun. On the acting game, I will mention only Chris Prat, everyone else played quite smoothly.
Not without lies on the legal topic, and this film looks even more posturing.
Total disappointment! After leaving the theater, the impression remains as after watching a commercial in which it is not clear what is being advertised: either a call for sperm donation for $ 40, or something else. If the ending were like in Perfume, that would be the ending!
In my opinion, American cinema is simply obliged to make a revolution about comedies, and to do it preferably sharply. I love humor and always try to watch comedies. But I noticed this. They always make them according to the same well-known system, according to which they did before: a person has a great life, then everything suddenly collapses at once, he is sad, he kind of gives up, and then bam! ... gathers his will into a fist, achieves his goals, along the way capturing some beauty for himself, everyone is happy and content, the end ... No, of course, sometimes such films are fun, sometimes you can watch them to cheer up. But overall, you're a little tired. And every time you turn on/watch a new American-made comedy, you expect something unusual, something special. Sometimes it works out, sometimes not very... But this film did the desired, and rightfully showed a decent level of humor without vulgar jokes (almost), without falls and curves, without black and obscene sarcasm.
The film “Good Father” I came across quite by accident. As often as that happens, I decided to spend Saturday night with some light film. I watched the poster, chose the movie, bought tickets with friends and went. No trailer, no description, no reviews I have not seen. The name of the main character was enough for me, I am well acquainted with the work of Vince and approximately imagined the upcoming picture.
Surprisingly, the story was very happy. Very interesting idea, which, by the way, is quite realistic (quite well, yes.). I will not describe the plot and actions in the film (why?), I will go through the general sensations of what I saw.
There are touching moments in the film, and very funny. The combination of drama and comedy in this film turned out great. You rarely see a picture when you both worry and laugh, and Jennifer Aniston does not appear in it (I just love Jen).
Vince Vaughn is not a genius, and (no offense, Vince) is not a talent, he is just a sincere lover of his craft. He feels many subtleties of emotions and perfectly conveys them with his simple style of acting. And we don’t need anything more as spectators. I was surprised that there was very little attention to love and romance in this film. That’s good because it doesn’t detract from the other important values that this film is trying to emphasize. Yes, and we are tired of constant love-do not like, I want to laugh more, comedy after all, the drama is in the description in second place ...
I always look at the reaction of the audience. We laughed a lot, often, sometimes hysterically. David’s lawyer friend is a typical “smart loser” of American comedies, but he’s so good! I haven’t enjoyed playing secondary characters in a long time. Phrases, manners... Really funny!
I'll put solid, confident

It is worth watching, you can review, you need to laugh.
I really liked David’s monologue at the end of the film, where he talks about who should decide who to be a father. It touched me, the subject is very serious, and I am glad that she rose in such an easy, at first glance, comedy.
Wherever you go, everyone loves you.
David Wozniak is a loser wasting his life. Once he is announced to be the biological father of 533 children, they will soon find out about him. At first he gets scared, but then David decides to help each of them, gradually realizing how important it is not only for the children, but also for himself.
Ken Scott directed a dramatic comedy on a theme that reaches every viewer at a certain point. His style is not a mockery, but rather an attempt to understand the hero and his mistakes.
The script begins well, but gradually fades due to the lack of ideas that could make a recognizable situation a manifesto. This is not the case with the creators, everything here is superficial and dry.
Chris Pratt and Kobe Smulders, despite their small roles, are the only ones worth spending time on. Vince Vaughn does not pull his hero, although sometimes he is not without some charm.
“Good Father” is an uneven film about simple human problems, and what can be achieved by solving them in an unusual way.
Just a week ago, I first saw the trailer for the movie “Good Father” and realized that this is clearly something new. The film is about the main character who has 533 biological children can not but be interested.
In itself, the script of the film is very simple, but still there is something in it. I liked the atmosphere in the film. It was interesting to see how the story developed. It is impossible to be a father to 533 children, but he tried to be a guardian angel.
Although the film is a comedy, there were touching moments in it. For example, the story of a disabled boy named Ryan. For me, these scenes seemed too touching.
I liked the fact that the film involved not famous actors playing children. Perhaps, thanks to this film, they will be noticed and invited to other works, because many played quite well for "typical" American comedy. One of the few where the young and not famous enjoyed more than the more experienced actors.
I don’t know why, but Vince Vaughn was never an actor for me, not even in his industry (in another he didn’t even act, except for Psycho). But I can’t say that after this movie my opinion changed. But I think this role should be played that way. He's a loser. Nothing else.
Chris Pratt, who lost weight for shooting 27 kilograms (I don't know what the truth is for) in this film, as in his paintings, he played normally neither much nor less.
As a result, we can say that an interesting plot and young actors and actresses is the only thing that pulls the whole film.

At a time when the whole world is admiring the new Hunger Games, a film has appeared on the screens telling us what it is like to become a father.
David Wozniak, an unhappy man whose life goes awry. He delivers meat at his father’s store, has big money problems, and is eventually abandoned by his girlfriend. And that's not all. In addition, the lawyer says that twenty years ago, when David was one of the clients of the sperm bank, a mistake occurred, as a result of which he is the biological father of 533 children, 142 of whom want to know the name of the parent. Wozniak has a serious choice to make. To remain incognito or somehow in secret to know your new descendants.
At first glance, the seemingly next comedy film “Good Father”, with classic vulgar American humor, appears before us a very interesting dramatic comedy. It is not surprising, but the father's meaning embedded in the picture in a mix with everyday jokes looks quite weighty. At the same time, Vince Vaughn again appears as a sweet, kind, sloppy, who tries to correct his life only after certain situations.
Becoming a secret guardian angel for some children, he realizes that he is able not only to deliver meat, spoil any business he takes on. David Wozniak is a capable boy in the case of paternity of so many children. Inspired by the fact that everything is in his hands, that the choice depends only on him, he sees how his life changes. In this positive transformation, I play an important role, so to speak, offspring. As they communicate with each of them, David realizes that they do not need the Wonder, but a father. The one you can play basketball with, play guitar, swim in the pool. Only he can bring to their lives that for which the search for his name began. It doesn’t matter what you left behind.
"Good Father" is ridiculous with its inexperience. Comic everyday situations, the humanity of relationships, friendly enthusiasm determine the mood of the film. A classic, solid picture filled with invigorating hugs.
The Hollywood-adapted Ken Scott film is an everyday American product, but with a tasty and vital filling, capable of awakening fatherly feelings in someone who did not even think of becoming a dad.
This film is a remake of the film "Daddy", which was released two years ago, which was directed by the same director as this film - Ken Scott. I'll tell you right away that I haven't seen it.
I was interested in the trailer for Well Father, plus Vince Vaughn, one of my favorite comedians, so I couldn’t miss the movie. I watched the movie and I will say I liked it.
The plot of the film is very simple, well, what to expect from comedy in our time, but very interesting. David Wozniak, who in his youth was a sperm donor, gave it more than 600 times. He became the biological father of 533 children. And some, more than 100, have gone to court to find out their father's identity. At first, David doesn’t know what to do with it, but gradually he decides to learn more about his children, starting to help them like incognito.
Actors, or rather an actor — Vince Vaughn, as I said, is one of my favorite comedians. Played well. I don’t know what else to add to it, just played well, as he knows it, because nothing else was needed. Chris Pratt, a friend of David — Bratt, who gained as much as 27 kilograms for this role, at least they say so, but honestly, I don't even know why it was necessary to do it to show what years of marriage do to men or something else? He played his role normally, that’s just fine, and nothing special was required of him.
Humor in the film is present, but not as much as expected, I still felt that the film is primarily a drama, and then a comedy, but nevertheless I was satisfied. Very kind humor, without any vulgar and flat jokes, as it usually happens.
“Good Father” is a film that leaves a good mood after watching, which you can safely show and watch with your parents, I think they will like. Very kind and good drama with humor. The film does not carry anything special or new, just such films are pleasant and easy to watch. I have nothing to add to this film, as I said, the film is just a good movie for easy viewing, take your parents or friends (but better parents, I think they will definitely like the film, at least mom), and watch this film.

“Good Father” is a film with an old concept, known for the comedy “Daddy”, but at the same time in an updated shell. For this reason, the director Ken Scott was extremely difficult to surprise the audience with some extraordinary originality. But the bet on new actors, good humor and the development of the dramatic component worked almost 100%. If you could count on some financial success and recognition, then only interested in introducing any unusual techniques. There are a few tricks that the director uses.
Plot. The plot tells us about a man who at once faces many problems. At work, he always does everything wrong, owes a huge amount of money to serious people, everything goes wrong with a girl. In addition, it turns out that due to a mistake that was found in the sperm bank (the visitor of which was our “lucky” hero in his student years), David Wozniak is the biological father of 533 children. At first, he panics, but gradually recovers and tries at least once in his life to do the right thing: to get to know at least some of his offspring.
Atmosphere. This work of those that slowly begins his race, and by the end uses the remaining forces for a strong leap forward and acceleration at the finish line. The drama, which gradually unfolds in the course of the film, is skillfully diluted with curious situations, good jokes, funny moments and beautifully selected music. Towards the end of the film, everything that happens results in a smart ending, which contains a large set of simple family values and the correct conclusions of the protagonist. At the same time, the perfect balance is maintained between a boring dull ending and excessive tenderness, which can vomit. Everything that happens in the comedy is painted very competently, and most importantly, everything that is available here is enough to create a warm and favorable atmosphere.
Humor. In addition to ridiculing what David did as a young man under the pseudonym "Wonder Bull," there is a clear comparison to the family of his friend, who is struggling to cope with his 4 children. “Shaming” from his brothers, too, no one canceled, because they want to properly mock his brother and prove to him that he is not capable of anything.
A separate line is " That's what you have to say in court! Music. Drive, suitable and conveniently conveying the funnyness of some situations and experiences of Wozniak. Lightness and unobtrusiveness of the tape contributes to the musical accompaniment, made in the style of classic American comedy sketches.
Result. "Good Father" - a creation that does not carry anything new in the genre of "comedy dramas". But it makes us at least think about whether we are doing everything right in our lives. After all, every person must love and honor his family more than anything in the world, regardless of the number of members in it and respect relatives, regardless of their character.

(69%), a good movie, but it didn’t reach its full potential.
Who is to blame for man’s failures? It's just him.
A film about a man who has achieved nothing in his life. He is reaching a critical point in his existence. What will happen next is not difficult to guess. The usual American story that losers are good people, and can also perform small “feats” for the sake of their friends, loved ones, etc.
The question is, how could you live such a sad life? Why didn't the hero himself shake up sooner? It turns out that there is nothing to do in life. Live like a snail, and then there will be happiness. But it's utopia. Reality hates snails.
Comedy turned average. There are funny moments, but they do not cause bright emotions.
Who would like it? Those who love simple movies 1 time. I looked and forgot. No need to think, just rest.
Who doesn't like it? Those who go to the movies in order to think and experience “complex” emotions.
Is it worth watching the movie? If you have a choice between this and another movie in the theater, choose another. Without watching this movie, you won’t lose anything.
