The Grand Seduction, 2013, directed by Don McKellar. The film with such a name on the story of a really big scam still does not pull, and the name is translated rather as "Great Seduction" (seduction), for some reason else translated the name of the village of Tickle Head as Gadyukino. The small fishing harbor after the ban on fishing comes to a real desolation, the entire population of 120 people sits on welfare, who is still able to do something, goes to the city, which does the wife of the main character (works at a garbage sorting plant) and even the mayor (works at an airport security check). There is a phantom hope that they can build a refinery there for the processing of oil industry waste, but for this there must be a doctor in the village. And then one day a case turns up that allows them to get a doctor for a month. Will it be possible to pull through the signing of the contract during this time, because the doctor is not the only condition, there is also a “personal contribution” of $ 100,000 (how is it with corruption in Canada?) The actors play well - Brendan Gleeson, of course, first of all, but the rest are not bad, but there is something a little lacking in this generally good, though not too fun social comedy. The film is a remake of the Canadian, but French-language film La grande séduction (in the Russian box office "My beautiful wilderness").
The Big Scam is another in a series of remakes of My Beautiful Wilderness, only this time the story returned to Canada. It is not clear why everyone wanted to present to the world his interpretation of the original, which I did not see because of its unpopularity, and such a desire does not arise after watching this tape, because even the title, which was only translated from French: "La grande seduction" vs. "The grand seduction" - hints that there are no fundamental differences and is not planned. In short, the film is good to watch, but in any case you can not think about it after, try to understand, analyze.
Despite some secondaryity – because the plot simultaneously refers to “The Truman Show”, and you can see similarities with “Typical Cool Cops” and find many more repercussions – which should reduce the pleasure of watching the film to a minimum, this does not happen. Apparently, this concept is quite stable and durable, even if you make only minimal changes to the scenario. As usual: the first two-thirds are for the amateur, but made very qualitatively thanks to humor and actors (especially Gleason), all conflicts and motivations are a default, although, apart from the usual and rather controversial illustration of the principles of “lie for the good”, Brendan Gleason’s character has a personal motive: he wants to return his wife to his home harbor, and for this he needs a factory. All this is layered with the idea of love for a small homeland, that you need to fight for your home. But what is the price? – a very noticeably ignored, but damn important question. The methods used by Brendan Glisson clearly contradict the ideas of small patriotism, and moreover, the creators encourage and justify this approach. Of course, the goals can be arbitrarily noble, but turning a blind eye to the important question: “Lying for the good, but for whom?” – the director compromises himself. So, the film calls for a reaction opposite to the expected, and already not particularly relevant in our problem of a small homeland ranks among those that are not even worth discussing, because everything is clear. The same "Cool cops" much more elegantly play and expose this idea.
Interest grows most in the final third, when the atmosphere is inflated as if by itself. There are people in suits deciding whether Gadyukino, the wow-speaking name, is worth building an oil waste plant there; and the idyll built for Mr. Doctor is not crumbling, but increasingly gaping holes that were evident in the beginning — and this agonizing and impatient wait is doing its job at all five plus. There are also metaphors, like associations of action with the professions of the main actors, which seemed to be in sight all the time, but the director carefully held them until the very last moment. He knows that the final act is the most important, because it will leave the final imprint in the soul of the viewer. The only thing is that again it is a pity that the creator missed the semantic component.
Another blunder is music. Starting from the exposition, where it may seem that now will begin some fantasy, and continuing the whole film to knock past the Canadian folk. And if the initial theme is forgotten, just creating a precedent that, in general, can not say much, then the composition further shows that, surprisingly, Canadian folk does not fit the story of the Canadian wilderness - yes, that is how this film is made. The music gives the impression of a romantic adventure, and although purely nominally in one of the scenes Brendan Gleeson went to his wife, but such an audio sequence would be appropriate if he traveled to his lover across Canada, and the movie would turn it into a whole novel, but it is not about this - and such incongruousness in almost all scenes with music. So, another attempt to play on a certain patriotism was another mistake, only alienating the viewer from the tape.
What kind of movie is that? This is a spy comedy about how a doctor is trying to leave in a hole without a cell phone, as well as how 120 simpletons lead big bosses around the finger. They lie, come up with original plans, inventively twist out of unforeseen situations. And it gets even better when indifferent fortune intervenes in the action, sometimes helping our heroes, then putting them in wheels. "Gadyukinos Against Everyone" is what the movie is about. It’s quite funny, and many scenes will at least make you smile or cheer you up, and at the same time some will arouse revulsion at all these immoral impudences, and I could say that’s the point: unscrupulousness that makes you smile if the director didn’t justify such behavior without any argument. Everything the film is built on: lying for good is permissible - love your small homeland; and, literally, there is nothing more: no arguments, no examples, no reasoning. And although this system is relational, that is, any thesis can be put at the forefront, this does not mean that one justifies the other and vice versa - this is a scanty and incomplete view. Hell, this movie is something to praise, but it's hard to abstract from how it positions itself. If you succeed, it will be a great victory for you and for the film.
The Big Scam could have been a funny comedy or satirical drama, but the director did not take any of these positions. That’s the problem: when you watch, you’re quite happy, but as soon as you start debriefing flights, you realize that the film is bursting at the seams and literally shoots itself in the knee. The creators chose an unpopular position, but could not reasonably justify it. Sometimes it is better to hide the message away.

Lies are an integral part of our lives. We have all lied, or continue to do so, to our loved ones, our boss, our assistant, and ultimately to ourselves. This picture is very subtle analysis of lies for good.
We have 120 slackers who live on welfare and their only purpose in life is to drink a beer at a local bar. But there is an opportunity to change everything. Why should they change their way of life when they are happy? You will get the answer.
This is one of the warmest and warmest films. The actors are all on top, humor is situational and everywhere appropriate. The script did not disappoint either - most of the characters go their own way of realizing the meaning of life.
After the final credits, there is food for thought – are you willing to make this kind of lie to change your life for the better? We all know that there is only one way to lie. Sooner or later, everything will become clear. The decision rests with everyone, but I try to live honestly and by all means I will avoid lying, because it will not lead to anything good.
I recommend it to everyone. Will the film be remembered for a long time?
P.S.: First of all, be honest with yourself.
The Canadian outback is a small island with a population of 125 people. People there, so to speak, are dragging on a worthless existence. They don’t even realize that their lives have become meaningless since they banned fishing. Just come to the local bank once a month for social benefits for the unemployed.
And that’s what they would do if there wasn’t a phantom prospect of building a factory on the island, and then everyone could work again, thereby rehabilitating their self-esteem.
A perspective emerged, a leader emerged, and a task arose: It is necessary to get a doctor, a young man in the capital, who was sent to the island as a corrective measure related to the seizure of cocaine.
The goal of the locals is to make him enjoy the island, where there are almost no young people left.
It is amusing and joyful to see how passive and somewhat downtrodden people can rally and come to life for a purpose, how it would seem that a scam undertaking can revive relationships and a sense of solidarity.
The film is positive, ironic, light, after it a very pleasant aftertaste. Perhaps this is always the case when you witness people gaining important meanings in life.
The film is slow and very simple. But there is so much in it, and in such a balanced proportion: humor, depth, metaphor, human routine. I highly recommend it for a calm, smooth, but very life-affirming mood... with a bit of healthy irony.
The big scam was another pleasant surprise to me. The film, from which I almost did not expect anything and bought its interesting title (I love films about scams and scams), and on Brendon Gleeson in the title role. And although the film was not really about scammers and scammers, it still managed to impress me and even surprise me a little.
The plot of this film begins with the childhood of the hero Brendan Gleeson, named Murray. He tells us about life in his small village, which in our localization was called “Gadyukino” (apparently, our localizers also like that monologue by Gennady Khazanov). His father was a fisherman. The work was not easy, it took a lot of work, but this effort was enough to feed the family. His father was proud of his honest work, and his son was just as proud of him. Therefore, Murray’s father was always a role model for him, and he aspired to be like him. But even such simple dreams do not always come true. Years pass and Murray’s dream never came true. Fishing is banned, there is no work and therefore no money. There are only benefits, but this is not enough for living, and it hurts the pride of an honest worker who does not want to move, Murray. There is only one hope for Murray and the other villagers. Oil production waste processing plant. But there's a lot to do. Convince the company to conclude a contract with the village (and one of the conditions for this is bribery), as well as find a good doctor.
And that’s where everything that I love about this movie starts. As you can see, the doctors found it. It was Paul Lewis played by Taylor Kitsch. A young doctor from a big city, who is used to all his blessings and therefore get used to life in a small village, in which such benefits do not exist, will not be easy for him. But nevertheless, a doctor is needed, which means we need to figure out how to convince him to stay in the countryside. And that's where that shift of emphasis happens. Usually in such comedies, a resident of a big city is the main character and all the humor is based on how he tries to adapt to life in a small village. In "The Big Scam," it's the opposite. The residents of a small village want to make sure that a resident of a large city stays with them. And that's what most jokes are built on. Murray, along with other residents, create a lot of hilarious tricks that can make the doctor stay. And of course, often because of their tricks, they get into ridiculous situations and come out of them in a funny way, which is also not bad. There are also great moments in which our heroes try to outsmart the company that should build the plant, but there are much fewer of them.
As for acting, I want to single out Brendon Gleeson and Taylor Kitsch. But the acting of Brandon in this film is great (however, as always), and I will not focus on it. I'd rather focus on Taylor Kitsch. For me, he was always an average actor who was very often whipped by failed blockbusters. Even the second season of True Detective didn’t help his career. But in this movie, he stood out a little bit. He got quite a lively and interesting character, which develops well during the film. And in the course of this development, we learn that there have been too many lies in his life, and this has a negative effect on him. And the fact that he got from one cycle of lies to another could serve as the basis for an interesting conflict. But unfortunately, it failed to develop, and it was resolved rather weakly and hastily. Apparently, the creators did not fit into the framework and it was decided to do everything like this. Although there was another option that would have been more suitable for narration, it was unnecessarily gloomy and after two hours of laughter, this option looked more like a punch between the legs. Unexpected and quite painful. Therefore, the second final version turned out to be a lesser evil and it is even good that the darker version was not included.
Thus, “Big Scam” is a great comedy that does not cope well with the function to make the viewer laugh, but is also able to please other aspects. I would recommend this film to everyone without exception.
“It's about people. Do not ask how they are doing: you already know and there is something in it.
Somewhere on the edge of the Earth, in one of its picturesque corners, there is a forgotten quiet harbor. Once upon a time there lived the Faith and Valor of desperate courageous people doing hard work, but all this remains in the glorious past. And in the present, the 120 remaining “smugglers liars” tied with their hearts to this place drag their existence on a miserable allowance, quietly, illegally, selling salmon.
It is in this atmosphere that the viewer plunges, however, from the first acquaintance with the inhabitants of the harbor involuntarily begins to feel sympathy for them. After all, as one of the main characters will later say: "It's about people." Do not ask how they are doing: you already know and there is something in it. The locals conquer with their naivety, cute stupidity, incredible perseverance, vitality, cohesion, hospitableness, irony and - hell knows what else! Some kind of country charisma! The music, by the way, is brilliantly selected. However, the whole crew did their best to give a wonderful, kind, really warm movie for a cozy evening. I will not retell the story - keep the intrigue. Moreover, this film needs to feel, emotionally pass through yourself, maybe think and change something in your life.
I can’t recommend the movie as a “must-see” movie, but if you find time for it, you won’t regret it. I think there should be more of these films: the world will be kinder.
I estimate 8/10. minus 1 point for acting Taylor Kitsch and minus 1 point for approving him for this role. I notice that I do not dislike the actor, I see him for the first time, but in my opinion, it is possible and more convincing.
Everyone, have a good look!
This is a harbour in Newfoundland with a population of 125 souls who live largely on welfare checks. The oil company wants to build a high-tech plant in the area, but one requirement is to have a doctor in the city. After his wife and even the mayor go to work in St. John’s, Murray (Brendan Glisson) comes up with a grand scheme to tempt the doctor to move to their village of paradise.
Here comes the young and eccentric Paul Lewis (Taylor Kitsch). The villagers, through connections, force him to come to their abode and then try their best to please him to stay. However, they have very little in common with a doctor, a jazz and cricket lover who can’t even catch a fish; and a girl who remains in civilization pulls him back. Given all this, will their scam work?
I loved this movie forever. That's why. Glisson successfully drags the film, showing a superb performance. The same can be said of Taylor Kitsch, who radiates magnetism and courtesy in every scene. He obviously knows how to play, but I suspect he was just himself in this film. Gordon Pinsent showed the perfect embodiment of the eccentric and clumsy hillbilly. Oh, and the location of the filming - the city of Trinity - is magnificent, it seems that there you want to meet old age. The main thing is that there is a doctor.
The Big Scam is a beautiful combination of comedy, history, superb acting and staging. Ordinary people in a simple village do not have the difficulties that most of us live with. However, they face a problem that is not easy. I genuinely laughed at how they solved it. And I was also very supportive of them.
It's nice to see a non-Hollywood, soulful movie like this. I must say that the feeling of adding an independent film of this quality to your piggy bank is refreshing.

Watch once, in the right places to laugh, forget and never think!
A low-budget film.
There was no money for the scripting team. The money, presumably, the tax authority in a share with the Ministry of Overseas Territories Affairs. The screenwriter, also a good guy, also from the tax, in childhood he participated in amateur activities, he and embody the installations of the one who pays.
The place is not called "village", and then in the text GAVANE!
Beginning: before everything was fabulous! Everyone was young, the sun was shining. Worked to a dead state, then drank, and then had enchanting sex. A fairy tale!
But these are bad times for non-capitals. Everyone's old. There's no work. There is no strength for night sex, the limit of dreams is bulking bad solid household waste in a distant wonderful place, under the conditional name "city". For the best of the worst, like the last mayor, there are airport security seats in the city.
A representative of the bank remained in the harbor from the intelligentsia under the supervision of an all-seeing camera with the prospect of replacing it with an ATM. And the postman: the representative of the state part-time female sex symbol. Diseases that the city has not known for 40 years. Children do not go to the city, there is nothing to teach them. From classes, receiving benefits in combination with harmless petty tax fraud, drinking in a bar and reasoning about how to live.
By this point, the writer's jokes are drying up. The semblance of comedy begins to resemble Soviet propaganda for the downtrodden.
It is time for the protagonist of the electorate to take action. We have to act! Babs get pink pantaloons, men clean up on the shore what shit. The goal is to get production for the processing of good liquid waste! You can’t stop drinking throughout the film. In particularly tense moments, women can smoke. A few words from the Mexican series about orphans! The beauty of the northern coast and the pristine lack of cellular communication!
It's time to get to the end. A bank clerk will perform a harakiri job for the common good. And to change office work to the same as the hegemon's positive doing nothing. A civil servant doesn't get out either, you work for the people. Get under the main character! He's a smart electorate, Doctor! Refusing to go to bed? Chaste means sympathy in the plot.
And a fellow wizard will fly in a blue helicopter and bring happiness to a multinational corporation for 100,000 bucks.
Here's a high-tech chemical waste plant, pour bubbles with a smart look and easy work instead of antediluvian fishing. Highly intelligent ATM! You can start groping your ass again. Oh, miracle! The women are back, the potency is back!
Curtain.
Morality comes down to a couple of unobtrusive ideas. You need to die in the place where you were born. No need to study. It is better to work as an important recycler than to live on welfare. Stop cheating on benefits. Who made such a good movie for you? If the best white hero in the world is for happiness, then why would aborigines dig out in the rest of the world?
If you turn off the brain, then potency is also not bad.

“The Boring Village Movie,” as I was described 'The Big Scam' turned out to be a wonderful comedy. A kind, calm film with subtle humor, for those who understand the genre, in addition to toilet jokes below the belt.
The action takes place in the provincial deaf. Slowly dying, a tiny port town called the Harbor. Aborigines, locals, of which a little more than a hundred, represent one big friendly and charmingly peculiar, original family. A community where everyone knows everything about everyone. Life in the harbor proceeds smoothly and calmly, despite the technology and progress, you can think time has stopped here, and the people here are the same as their fathers half a century ago. Everything begins to change when the main character Murray decides to take the initiative and breathe a second life into the village. The new Mayor of Harbour, with his loyal assistant Simon, is trying to do the near impossible. Lure tycoons from a rival town, with a project to build an oil refinery. Which will regenerate the village and provide vital jobs. Murray and Simon to achieve the goal, ready to go any way. An unexpected obstacle is the obligatory requirement of oil workers, the presence of a permanent doctor in the village, who was not here. But how do you get a doctor, and most importantly, get him to stay in the harbor, away from the vibrant life of the city? But the case is decided by chance, now it remains only to not release this gift of fate!
Excellent plot, cool directing, original dialogue! The atmosphere of rural hinterland is unsurpassed, with colorful characters and no less vivid characters. The masterful play of Brendan Gleeson and Gordon Pinsnet leaves an exceptionally pleasant impression, with its charisma and originality. The picture captivates with its openness, sincerity and vitality! A film about small joys, resourcefulness, courage, determination, worldly wisdom, ingenuity and resourcefulness.
I do not like comedies, stories about liars and machinations. Therefore, the advice to view the film “The Big Scam” directed by Don McKelar postponed in the piggy bank, in which he risked spending years. None of the description attracted me. Brendan Gleeson I associate with the darkest "Lie low in Bruges", Taylor Kitsch mixed with the rest of the list of unknown actors. A brief description of the plot vaguely gave a bad American comedy. Reviews of the film did not add enthusiasm. But the advice was given to me by a very good person and I still decided to watch.
Oh yes! 10 out of 10. Into the brain, in the heart, in the ears, eyes, Impeccable Comedy. A little sparkling humor. All images are written down to the smallest detail. A soundtrack that takes you to Ireland. As a bonus to it all, there's a poignant, piercing drama under the glitter of laughter. For me, this is a film about men, about their friendship, determination, ingenuity and love in the end.
The first thing that cut me to the core is the storyline, where the wife of the main character announces that she is leaving to work in the big city. The further development was so reminiscent of my own departure to Moscow that I was even taken aback and decided that for this reason I was advised to watch the film. Murray grew up, accustomed to life in the harbor, but still decides to move for the sake of his beloved woman. Trying to break up with your best friend
- Are you going to visit me in the city?
- No.
- Have you ever been to town?
- You're lucky, damn it!
It's not funny, it's not funny, it just hurts for a man who breaks himself like that. It's hard to find words because it's like scenes from my husband's life. All these conversations could be literally with him. And then the plot deceived expectations of banality! Keeping a tender affection for his wife, Murray is left fighting for the harbor. His visit to the city was very touching! Then the scene when he takes his wife home. How simple and powerful is shown the power of love of a simple good man! I think we should review Brendan Gleeson's work.
The second thing that captivated me was a community of grown-up and overtly old men who inventively deceive doctors and a few businessmen. Readers prone to meticulousness, of course, reproach me that out of 120 people involved in the scam, there are many women. Yes, there is. They're hilariously cute, but they're just cute funny grandmothers and aunts.
But when you watch men learn to play cricket and then in white forms portray the final of the season, you have time to feel that they really always remain children and the first 40 years are the most difficult for them. You look and feel happy for them. This feeling is no longer there.
I recommend watching. You may not see the same thing as me, but you will enjoy a great comedy anyway.
Light, funny, fresh, positive, soft, kind, warm, deep, cozy, at times touching and finally delightfully atmospheric summer film with the smell of the sea, ideal for watching on a weekend, lying on your favorite sofa.
To all fans of red Irishman-Brendan Gleeson,
- to all connoisseurs of beautiful landscapes,
Anyone who likes the salty smell of the sea
To all fans of rural life,
To all liars and doctors,
- and in general, to raise the mood!

A small, Canadian fishing village is experiencing hard times. Once upon a time, the inhabitants of this backwater lived fishing. However, now this occupation has become prohibited by law, and as compensation residents offered a pitiful allowance. The only hope for any jobs is the planned construction of a plant nearby. But to implement this plan, it is necessary, first, to bribe the head of the enterprise, and, secondly, to get a doctor for a permanent contract. Old-timer Murray (Gleason) with the help of the rest of the villagers begins courting a young Dr. Lewis (Kitch), who was sent here for a month of correctional work for possession of a small amount of cocaine.
A very cute, small film that leaves behind a pleasant, positive, melancholy mood. Of course, this whole story smacks of naivety and somewhere even infantile, but it seems that it was done intentionally. It turned out to be such a sad story with a grin on his lips. I can’t call it a comedy, despite the fact that there are purely comedic tricks in the film: all the scenes with the clumsy attempts of the local population to play cricket, sharp lines of Murray’s best friend, two grandmothers “divine dandelions” listening to Dr. Lewis’ conversations with a friend. All this causes a smile, but in the end it still becomes somehow not to laugh.
Depressed, abandoned, unwanted neighborhoods with people desperate for work are the same everywhere. Filming about these villages can be different. Tough and tragic, or with a fair amount of zeal and ostentatious hope for a change in the situation and a favorable outcome. Here we are dealing with the second option. The personification of the mood of the picture, no doubt, is the character of Murray, capaciously played by Brendan Gleason. It has humor, determination, hope, and readiness for a negative result. In general, Gleason is a very talented and, in my opinion, somewhat underrated actor. Taylor Kitsch in this film is cute and touching, but against the background of Gleason and the charming, second-class, rural people is somewhat lost.
“The Big Scam” is a simple, naive and touching film about people’s desire to work and be full members of society. It’s a film about not “all that glitters” and about never knowing where you’ll find or lose. And the love of cricket, of course, as without it.

No, this isn't the first line of a novel by some second-rate writer who's taken on remaking Bradbury. This is an accurate description of the life of the Canadian town of Ticklehead for one month. Once upon a time there was a great fishery, but after the adoption of the relevant laws it was covered. One hundred and a few people have lost their main source of income and their only occupation. Today, almost all of them are sitting on welfare, and almost everyone is not satisfied with this. Every day of their fathers' lives was filled with meaning, and what do they do, year after year, burn government handouts? There is a chance to change everything: one oil company is interested in building a tiny production facility in the harbor. Just to get everyone a job! But the thing is, there was no doctor in Ticklehead. You need a doctor, no one will build anything without him. Therefore, when the young Dr. Lewis is brought to the village by the will of fate and cocaine addiction, the locals literally do everything to keep him at home. They only have a month and the time has gone by.
History is as old as the world, only the scenery changes. The director of "The Big Scam" Don McKellar confronts the most common, vile lies and others that are "for salvation." The latter, of course, is endowed with truly magical charm. Even despite the fact that all the relations of the villagers with the rest of the world are built from lies of varying degrees of scale, every time for this lie one wants to find new and new excuses. They're not evil. They don't do anything terrible. And at the end of the day, it's about intention. “This is an innocent deception,” says one of the Aborigines at the very end of the film in response to the main character’s doubts about the correctness of his actions. And in general, it does. Compared to a three-year-long betrayal or a friendly betrayal, a bunch of village men trying to master hated cricket to please a guest, and the truth looks completely innocent. And this despite the fact that their so-called scam and Ocean himself would be jealous - after all, it was decided, to think only, to rebuild the life of a whole village.
McKellar keeps going. Introduces, for example, the slippery topic of bribery. It's a lot worse than fooling a doctor, isn't it? However, the taking official here is not a monster in the jacket, and the village guys do not treat bribery as something burdensome. They do not whine about heavy burdens in bars, they do not remember the old days when no one took them on their paws. This provides the film with a strong life-affirming streak. It may not have much to do with the surrounding reality. But watching all this, given, of course, and pleasant humor, and pretty Canadian landscapes – a real pleasure. The "big scam" of those pictures about which impressionable girls, prone to rude generalization, like to say "such a movie in our cruel, cynical age is no longer removed." Here, indeed, everything breathes positive, optimism. So, in part, anti-Leviathan. Only if in a Russian film the colors thicken even more than really necessary, here they are selected deliberately bright. What a sin to hide, McKellar embellishes! But it does so so that the film stays on the ground, does not fly to heaven, does not turn into a fairy tale. To accuse the director that he is engaged in brazen fiction, lives in some own world, in this case it is extremely difficult. He just thinks about the world a little better than he is. It’s not a shame, especially when it comes to movies. Reality as it is, after all, is pretty boring.
I can’t say that I laughed the whole movie, but I laughed a lot, and most importantly, from the heart.
The underlying theme of the film seems to be quite simple, in the sense that there is no twisted detective plot, the basis is not a book by a famous writer, there are no battles (except for them - a game of cricket and the run of 120 people across the night harbor (not the village, namely the harbor) from pub to church and back), there is no epicity ... But for this film, it turned out, and not necessary. There are people who can not do their favorite thing – to fish, because fishing in their waters is prohibited by law. They are paid benefits that allow them to exist, to whom it seems not enough, they go to the city, but for the most part people are humbled, and live from allowance to allowance spending money in a restaurant (it is a cafe, pub and generally the only entertainment institution in the harbor).
But there is a small but very proactive team of residents who do not agree with this established order. They remember how their fathers and grandfathers built this harbor, how they fished, which gave them food and shelter. They want to be needed!
By the will of fate, or rather by a combination of partly unpleasant circumstances, the main character Murray French (Brendan Gleeson) becomes the mayor of the harbor. He understands that this cannot continue. At stake is his native harbor, which is gradually dying out (you can compare with our villages, where only old people live if they live).
But in order that everything would radically change, you just need nothing, a doctor for permanent residence (well, as it turned out, another 100,000 dollars).
From that moment, the movie, from which it blew drama and tragedy, begins to take on a comedic hue. And finds it avalanche, radically changing the genre in the opposite direction.
It is clear that no doctor who knows his worth will want to come to such a “hole”. But again, by the same fate, they are visited for a month by Dr. Lewis (Taylor Kitsch), whom the inhabitants of the harbour should, I would even say, be obliged to fall in love with their harbour and its inhabitants.
I'm not going to list the tricks and methods that the harbor people tried to keep the doctor, which were not always legal or ethical, but they were really funny. And humor is not played, not lyceum, but humor is “pure”, humor from the simplicity of the soul.
To say that I enjoyed watching the movie is to say nothing! In my ranking of favorite films in the genre of comedies, he definitely entered the top five.
Despite the comedy genre, the film unobtrusively makes you think about the current situation, but everything could have turned out differently, as we see it moving 30 kilometers away from a major Russian city. I am so grateful to this film for doing it.
At the end of my opus, I can't give a few words to the play of the main character Brendan Gleeson, and this couple of words "he holds the stamp." I never cease to discover the different facets of his talent, and this film opened up some of them.
I can’t recommend watching the film, but I will say one thing, if you watch it, you will not regret it, and most likely, it will be the film that you want to watch more than once.

I’ve always regretted that movies like 'The Big Scam' are limited release in domestic theaters. But this is not surprising, because they are filmed for a very narrow audience, most of which will gladly find time to watch such a movie at home, in comfort and with pleasant company. Why are there people who love indie movies? I think that’s because their creators always put their soul into their creations. This gives them a very pleasant atmosphere. This picture was no exception. Let this be for you, of course, not ' Nebraska' Alexandra Payne, but quite a worthy example of a kind and soulful drama.
' The Big Scam' tells us a fairly simple story about ordinary villagers with mundane problems. The Canadian village (or, as its inhabitants say, the harbor) Gadyukino is located on the picturesque coast, but even in this beautiful place lives not without troubles. The main problem here is that you have to live on small benefits. Fishing is prohibited; with money, respectively, strain, few workers, and the tempting prospect of opening a plant remains only a dream, because it requires any sanitation, and doctors can not find for several years. But suddenly, fortunately, one poor surgeon named Paul Lewis in the city nearby is caught for possession of drugs, and for correctional work he has to go to Gadyukino, where the enterprising residents led by old Murray are ready to do anything to charm the doctor and force to register in the harbor for a post. This is where the fun begins.
The lion’s share of the success of such films (if the concept 'success' is generally compatible with them) is ensured by quality acting work. Here, the authors, taking on the main role of the brilliant Irish actor Brendan Gleeson, definitely did not lose. His comedic potential is as great as it is dramatic. I fell in love with him for 'Once Upon a Time in Ireland' and recently he just amazed me with his colossal performance in 'Golgotha'. In mainstream projects, he is not so interested in periodic performances in blockbusters like 'Troy' and 'Edges of the Future' and, of course, the Harry Potter films do not eclipse the images that he gave us in the films of John Michael McDonagh, but here in 'The Big Scam' he is almost no less beautiful. The rest in principle were also good, criticism can be caused only by the choice of Taylor Kitsch (he just felt more confident in blockbusters like ' John Carter' and ' Wolverine', although he held well in 'Survivor' and ' Particularly dangerous'). But as a young actor, he still needs such roles. I would not say that he played badly, just against the background of other characters in the film, his character looked a little faded. Nevertheless, it was he who turned out to be the saddest figure of the picture - the guy has something to regret, and the sensual viewer will definitely regret.
Since the authors position their film primarily as a comedy, the viewer has the right to expect funny moments, and there are quite a lot of them. The humor is warm and unobtrusive, sometimes vulgar, sometimes very thin. But, as I have already noted, the audience will not have enough laughs, there is some drama in the film. Such a mixture of funny and sad reminiscent, if not the films of George Danelia, then at least the work of Zach Braff (actually, ' Clinic' and a couple of his directorial works).
Separate mention are beautiful shootings, picturesque scenery and an unusual soundtrack, something reminiscent of cheerful Scottish and Tyrolean music. To the disadvantages of the film, I would include its overly smooth pace of storytelling - many people risk getting bored when watching - and some minor nonsense with small plot holes. But for charming characters, worthy of being played by actors, good jokes and charming atmosphere of any picture much can be forgiven.
In general, 'Big Scam' is a positive and life-affirming film, quite suitable for family viewing. For some, it can become one of the favorite films, someone will pass by without losing much. But personally, I am very happy to have given him a couple of hours of my life. The mood went up, so

Perhaps, the assessment is slightly overestimated, but it is not worth putting lower, because such a movie is filmed very little these days. For lovers of comedies and indie films, I recommend them.
Looking back, I can only say one thing: life was beautiful.
The action of the picture takes place in a small provincial village, it is also a harbor, which since time immemorial locals call simply and concisely - Gadyukino. No, what did you want? For any urban dweller, a small provincial village in which there is no cellular communication or Internet is Gadyukin, and the locals are used to it. Speaking of the locals! They are all nice and kind people, ready to gladly meet any person who comes to their wilderness, share his hobbies and give food and accommodation, especially if we are talking about a doctor from a big city. So what if the residents of Gadyukino are pathological liars and deceivers, and they only need a doctor to sign a contract with a large company to build a plant? Everyone does the best they can.
So, what can we say about this painting? Well, for starters, this is what I want to compare the film with the movie “Doctor Hollywood”, which also told about a young and talented doctor who was stuck in the deaf and who faced rustic but kind locals who accepted the hero Michael J. Fox as a long-lost son. I want to, but I'm not going to, because the movie is a bit off, and Taylor Kitsch's character is not the center of the story. It's weird, isn't it? But it is. Dr. Levis is a very ordinary person who loves cricket, cinemas, the Internet, delicious food and all sorts of amenities, but the hero of Taylor Kitsch turned out to be absolutely ordinary and I would even say cardboard. Dr. Levis does not cause any feelings during or after the viewing. Perhaps this is a feature of the film, but then why would Taylor Kitsch’s name appear on the cover? A publicity stunt? Sounds like it.
What is the main thing in this film? And the main thing here is that there is an interesting topic that is relevant for our country, namely, nobody cares about what is happening in small provincial villages. All resources are devoted to small cities, and large megacities, but no one cares what a resident lives in "Timatarakankova". And the creators of the picture, in an ironic manner, told the audience about what life in the outback represents. In the "Big Scam" will show all the stereotypes about the inhabitants of small villages, and the fact that the houses there are skewed and no one will hit a finger to fix something, and the fact that the locals drink randomly, and that most of them do not work, and ... yes, the village is small, so that in a few generations they all managed to become blood relatives. All this is in this film, but at the same time, the viewer clearly demonstrates and explains why people in Gadyukino behave in this way. They would be happy to work, but there is no work. Leave? This word is perfectly applicable to residents of large cities, many of whom do not remember their roots, and the residents of Gadyukino hold on to their houses, because their grandfathers and great-grandfathers lived here, because a rickety wooden building that looks gaggy not only from the outside, but also from the inside is all they have. And giving up is like giving up a part of your soul. And if so, the people of Gadyukino will fight for their place in the sun, albeit with lies, because this weapon is no worse than any other.
At the same time, it is worth noting that despite all the above, the film has its incredible energy and inner kindness, which makes it possible to recall dramas from the seventies of the last century, well, or films with the aforementioned Michael J. Fox. After all, despite the fact that the characters are trying to achieve that next to their village was built a factory that will give jobs, what is happening in the picture is served with childish spontaneity and that is why a feeling of nostalgia wakes up in the chest, as if he met an old friend after many years of separation. Perhaps it’s the talent of the director and screenwriters, or maybe it’s all about the charming hero Brendan Gleeson, who has already after the first five minutes of acquaintance, I don’t know. Is that really important?
Summing up, I want to say that “The Big Scam” is a cute, kind and funny film, which has its own magic, which makes you believe in what is happening on the screen and love the residents of Gadyukino with all your heart. There is a wonderful soundtrack and excellent camera work, and the film itself contributes to the work of gray cells in the head of the viewer. One “but” some of the plot guns that were hung in the film will not shoot and therefore it seems that we are in front of an excerpt from the life of Murray French and Dr. Lewis. The passage is significant, but which at the same time says that the final point in the history will not be set, and therefore give free rein to your imagination and listen to your heart they will prompt you answers to all the questions that interest you. And if this does not stop you, then you can safely take up the view, you will not regret it. I have no regrets at all.
Who like, and I heart heart heart comedies about a leisurely life from the category of “once in the outback”, even if it (deep) is on the North American continent, or rather is a quiet, forgotten by God and the rest of the world, a small Canadian harbor with a sonorous name caressing the ear of a Russian person.
For two long weeks, I was hesitant to watch the film because of the specific description about 120 notorious liars. For some reason (perhaps to me alone), it seemed that we were waiting for a pseudo-comedy story about an incomprehensible island of liars, vaguely reminiscent of the Stapford wives, and therefore not particularly interesting. However, the expectation of just killing 2 hours of drenched Sunday evening turned into a wave of warmth and kind humor, which brings pleasure from watching more and more with every minute of the film.
So, a dreary monotonous harbor where virtually all residents live on unemployment benefits. And now, they finally have a chance to change their lives for the better by winning a competition to build a small refinery for the processing of oil offal. One of the conditions of construction is the presence in the harbor of a practicing doctor, who is not by definition. And now, by the will of fate (and not without the help of the mayor of the town) they find a young specialist who decided to spend a month in the service of residents. The task of the local population is to convince the hero that there is no better place on Earth, and then convince him to sign his five-year contract. Well, then – “went” in the best traditions of the Truman Show.
The actors are not that incomparable, but very, very convincing and good. Three main characters against the background of brilliantly selected episodes make the whole film.
Brendan Gleason is beyond praise - his involvement ensures that the movie will be interesting. The script and the director work together like a bunch of Ryazanov and Braginsky. Special thanks Bibivasy, who noted that such humor is inherent in good Soviet comedies.
As a result, we have a well-tailored “story of a hoax”, with a good picture, a great script and good actors. I thought it was better to watch the film in the company of friends, because then the comedy becomes even funnier.
100% recommended for viewing. A clear contender for the best comedy of 2014.
The small friendly town of Gadyukino, located somewhere in Canada with a population of 120 people, lives its usual measured life, but so measured that you do not even want to. Most of the population of retirement age, other pre-retirement, there is no work, young people too, only endless traffic jams for benefits. In order for the town to somehow come out of stagnation, and the locals had the opportunity to work again, a plant for processing petrochemical waste should be built on the territory of the harbor. The truth is there is one condition, in the town there must be a doctor on a permanent basis, and they did not have one. A real doctor comes to them for a month.
Here are the insidious thoughts of local residents. It is up to the entire population to make sure the doctor stays here. In the course goes all the skill of ingenuity and endless lies, and it drowns all. But for the sake of justice, it is worth saying that this lie is not for the benefit of lies, but for the sake of the opportunity to live a better life. But like any lie, if you have already lied and the lump has rolled, it is unlikely to stop it. We have to continue to correspond to our legend, allowing the lump to turn into a huge block.
Brendan Gleeson after such films as Golgotha and Lie low in Bruges was a kind of discovery for me. I've seen movies with him before, but somehow I didn't single him out. Now I will be interested in watching his work.
The film is worth watching if only for the sake of seeing the locals courting our doctor from all sides. It's quite an interesting sight.
Since the 50s, in the vastness of the Soviet Union, a lot of film stories appeared, which in the whole scenario or occasionally demonstrated the charms of rural life and clearly showed all the advantages of moving from industrial centers to the outback. About this picture of the 50s “Rural doctor” and “It was in Penkov”, the popular TV series of the 70s “Shadows disappear at noon” and “Eternal call”, and in the 80s everyone loved “White dews” and “Love and doves”. The main message of the films was simple: “Down with this incomprehensible urban cycle!” You give a simple, understandable, “real” rural life!
The film “The Big Scam” directed by Don McKellar is somewhat reminiscent of these simple Soviet paintings, but with one exception, the Soviet writers could not afford to ironize about provincial life. A Michael Daus and Ken Scott not only ironize, but often frighten the viewer with the stupidity and skelteriness of the residents of the town of Gadyukino. But it still looks very nice on the outside.
The plot is simple - the once prosperous town of Gadyukino is gradually dying out. Only the construction of a petrochemical plant can save it. One of the conditions for its construction is the presence of a doctor with a permanent Gadyukin residence permit. Suddenly a doctor comes to town. But temporarily, for a month. The task of the residents is to make him stay in Gadyukino forever. For this purpose, the Gadyukins are in every possible way sophisticated, painting “Potemkin villages”.
“Big scam” was attributed to the genre of comedy, but the humor here is very subtle, almost imperceptible.
The acting of Brandan Gleeson and Taylor Kitsch are beyond praise. The secondary characters didn’t fall either. Especially remembered beautiful Lean Balaban in the role of employee Caitlin and charismatic Gordon Pinsent in the role of eccentric old man Simon.
Unlike the recently acclaimed picture of “Golgotha”, the modest “Big Scam” is much sweeter and more pleasant, in my opinion. The idealized utopia in the harbor of Gadyukino is like Chekhov’s theater, embodied in the cinema. Subtle humor, the thorough play of Brendan Gleason and Taylor Kitsch, some naivety and ridiculous absurdity - a great cocktail for a cozy autumn evening.
I really felt the meaning of this endless deception that surrounded the doctor, who got into a real provincial town, where all people live on welfare and enjoy work, and not basking in the lights of the night metropolis, going through exotic dishes in restaurants. They had to go to great lengths to play out the illusion of a "best place for a doctor." But at the same time, the doctor seemed to be cured himself: a wedge is kicked out. Thanks to deception, he revealed deception in his own life and chose a completely different direction in his life, this time free from falsehood.
Absolutely uncomplicated and thus funny situations may seem to the sophisticated viewer pretentious and insufficiently nourishing the inquiring mind. But this picture should be treated as a relaxation for the brain, as a perfect alternative to dumb American comedies. I don’t know why, but the movie is so special I’ll never forget it. This is a very unique style that defies classification. All characters are very charismatic.
Even though the film was Canadian, I had a strong association with Ireland. The wonderful music and charm of this harbor will not leave you indifferent. This is a strong and thoughtful picture to the smallest detail!
You go to the comedy skeptical - "well, what can you surprise, laugh?", but in the soul there is a certainty that you will definitely enjoy - a good Irishman Gleason could not star in shoes.
And this skeptical attitude allows you at first only to smile with restraint, you think that you can not pick up on such simple chips. But as the plot develops, as the inhabitants of the “little harbor” get into taste, trying to please the doctor, to lure him, you already laugh at the top of your voice, sometimes to tears, and sometimes silently, because there is no strength to laugh.
There are a lot of specific, stupid and funny statements in the film, which you will use more than once in life, precisely with the intonations with which they are pronounced by the characters.
I watched the film in the cinema twice and each time consciously avoided dubbing, because I am afraid to disturb the atmosphere formed in my soul, the same intonations already mentioned ("sooo... I've been drinking... (Paul) or "Hey, God damn, hey!!!!!" (Marray) or "...Spectacular manner!!!!" (Henry)
This is definitely my favorite comedy!
The big scam in action in the plot of this film may be incomparable to the greatness of many films from the crime genre, but this modest Canadian project can quite claim greatness in art. Breaking its almost ten-year lull, the little-known director Don McKellar gave a partially unforgettable film, imbued with sincere naivety and at the same time brilliant in the ingenuity of humor.
Perhaps the prologue and epilogue of this film, namely the author's observation of the town of Gadyukino can sadden the general background and mood of the film, but without these two directorial inserts, the film perfectly fits into the framework of the family comedy, and with the exception of a few phone conversations of one of the characters. Let’s call it purely “Canadian humor,” because only they probably can’t notice how much the film increases the age limit for the viewer.
A small town called Gadyukino, or rather the harbor, which long ago left civilization, and each of its inhabitants dreams to move to the city. But fate gives an excellent chance that a huge industrial plant will be built nearby, which will give jobs and paint the dreary and gray life of local residents. Everything would be fine, but the city urgently needs a permanent doctor and the population of the town would not hurt to significantly increase.
So begins the whole action of the film "The Great Scam", where the local settlers, led by their mayor in the face of the excellent Brendan Gleason begin to act out a real performance in order to give Gadyukino the long-awaited enlightenment in the form of a factory. The film is worth watching, in comparison with a hundred comedies released every year, this is a significant freshness for the genre, and it is worth noting the cast, which is almost the majority consists of “actors-tourists” of other countries and regions, but which perfectly conveyed the entourage of a remote harbor called “Gadyukino”.

A new story about the difficult fate of people remote from megacities comes to the screens with the participation of the Irish actor and director Brendan Gleeson who has successfully proven himself in difficult situations. Participation in major projects he successfully diluted in a certain “Irish round” of his career, in films filmed by the brothers McDonagh and not only. Reflections and contradictions, difficult fates and alternation of black and good-natured humor - at least these components leave an imprint, in order to possibly return to such works more than once.
The “big scam” is a kind of “joke” on an especially large scale, arranged in connection with the vital needs of the inhabitants of a small village. The plot is built around the villagers who do not want to put up with a sluggish difficult fate, but also do not want to leave with their relatives to the city (the number of which was replenished under the cover of night by the mayor of the harbor). Murray (Brendan Gleeson), having taken the reins, seeks to fulfill the long-held dream of building a new plant capable of providing an influx of funds and jobs, but as a “victim” it is necessary to obtain a guarantor of success – a young doctor. With the help of a former villager, a troublemaker, Dr. Lewis (Taylor Kitsch), was identified as a necessary link in the villagers’ plans. They do everything possible to provide the guest with almost everything necessary, and sometimes even more, which is successfully facilitated by wiretapping the apparatus of the dear guest, equipped with the oldest technology. However, the disappointments that will inevitably weigh on the new resident will soon be felt, which is why the coquetry of the employee Kathleen (Lean Balaban), initiated at the request of the mayor, can lead to completely different consequences. However, the fate of the doctor will depend both on himself and on how much he will be imbued with the fate of the inhabitants of the harbor, as well as how he will respond to the problems of his own life.
Regarding the acting, it should be noted first of all, Brendan Gleeson, who once again perfectly shows himself in low-budget dramatic films and a simple, but no less attractive plot. In the rest, I would like to note not so much Taylor Kitsch, Leanne Balaban, but the joint work of other actors – both the closest aides to the mayor and other residents of the city. The created entourage attracts with its simplicity, making the viewer believe in what is happening no less than the arrived Dr. Lewis.
To sum up, it is worth noting the good work of Don McKellar and the cast of The Grand Seduction. Of course, famous actors here play a major role, but the created entourage calls not only to pay attention, but also to love ordinary residents of this harbor. They will do anything for the sake of their goal, but at the same time show the visitor their own life and do everything to make it make a serious impression on him. Whether you like it or not is up to the doctor and the viewer to decide. Have a good time!
The once-living town is now in deep depression. Once satisfied with their fate, residents who loved their hard work are now forced to drag on an inactive and cashless existence, shorting time in the queue for benefits.
The only hope to regain a decent working life and save the town from complete desolation is an emerging plan to build an oil refinery.
But here's the catch: the contract requires the presence of a doctor on the territory. Where can I get it? In this area, he has not been seen since time immemorial and, by the way, did well without him.
But you must, you must. And local activists are developing a real operation to seduce a visiting aesculapius.
Involuntarily recalls the comedy “Doctor Hollywood”, where the welcoming inhabitants of a small town with great enthusiasm receive Michael J. Fox. But here, in contrast to the American comedy of the early 90s, the focus is not on the doctor, who did not voluntarily get into a remote region from civilization, but on the local residents who show wonders of ingenuity to save this region (his harbor) for themselves.
Attachment to native places creates inspiration, and resourcefulness and hits the key. To regain the right to work, serious, weather-hardened men are ready to dress up in embroidered tablecloths with embroidery, listen to jazz, skip hockey on TV (and the case, incidentally, occurs in Canada), play a costume performance for the capital's businessmen.
When the desire to earn honestly is too great, you can lie.
I went to the movies on Monday. Seven in the evening and the floor is full. There are 10 people in office clothes. When everyone is working, the mind is incomprehensible. I'm a creative person, okay?
About the movie: very good. I cried five times. The most important thing is that it remains behind the scenes, and what I am sure, the director and writers did not specifically invest in the film.
Heroes together. All 120 people in a Canadian town buckled by unemployment. You know, if you did something like that, you know what happened? “Yuryev Day” multiplied by “The Tale of Darkness”. And here - light humor, soft irony, some kind of forestry, and only. Enviable, tree sticks! Why is that? Because together, once more. One for all and all for one, as my parents used to say when I was a kid. I don't know if the term "civil society" applies to the Canadian deaf, but I don't know if I want to say it.
The only “but” is in goal setting.
Everything is planned to open a factory in the city for processing oil (? – did not remember) waste and that everyone worked on it, got off the wellfair and felt like people. Let us leave alone the hysterical “greens” (which nature will be spoiled, eh?!) but for people who want the Kingdom of God on earth (i.e., brought up on Greek philosophers and thinkers, like the Russians, for example), even though the heroes gather in the church, the task is a little small.
I don’t know if they would put up a 10-meter monument to Abraham Lincoln. It's a factory. After all, the West is the West, all the rationalists are bitten by K. Weber. But the film, I repeat, is very good.
I haven't seen such a good comedy in a long time. The film attracts with its warmth and coziness of a quiet harbor. The life that all people live in this harbor is filled with general peace, love for their native place, solidarity for common interests. The inhabitants of this beautiful small town have a great goal to save their city from unemployment and from extinction. The mayor, played by Brendan Gilson, in a place with all the residents, intends to change the course of events and return his city to the path of prosperity. To do this, they intend to conclude an agreement with the oil corporation, building a plant, the corporation will help to return our quiet harbor, the future in which people will be able not to survive, but to live, raise children, work...
Despite the fact that life in this town runs its leisurely course, our giant seed of 120 people gets, besides work, everything they need, they have a shared love of hockey, a common passion for fishing, which is the opportunity to survive without work. They're going to have to change that because they need a doctor to get the factory. And the doctor, played by Taylor Kitsch, is a completely different person, he loves cricket, loves city life, and how everyone in the town thinks he has a drug addiction.
In the film in abundance, humor prevailed in most of the Soviet comedies, a pleasant surprise was to find it in this picture. The episode with the fishing of a young doctor, reminiscent of a magnificent fragment of the film “Diamond Arm”, with a cool Seni. I recommend watching the movie without exception.
I watched the film at a press screening at the Nightingale on Red Presnya Film Center.
A tiny Canadian port town, specializing in fishing and mining, literally rots from the inside. But once it was in Tickle Head that people flocked, eager to live freely and humanly. Now the majority of workers are forced to say goodbye to the countryside and go to work in the metropolis. Those who decided to stay, obviously, do not intend to put up with this state of affairs. Moreover, one of the residents got the idea: to build a chemical plant in order to start doing business from scratch and stop the ruin of the native heart corner. The problem is that a doctor is needed; only then will the disbursing “government” agree. Luck! There's a doctor! He likes to smuggle cocaine across the border, play cricket and exist independently. In order to get such a "many-faced" doctor to his homeland, the citizens of Tikle Head agree to fulfill all the wishes of the doc, provided they do not inform him himself. Scam in action.
“Great seduction”, which came to our rental with a little different, but for the most part never affected the author’s message with the name “Big Scam”, attracts with its honed taste of presentation. The material here is raw, unconditional. He's not good at revelation. Weak in design. And, without ceremony, anti-real. The syndrome of “winner-dreamers”, and in our case, “rural on horseback”, will piss off any apathetic person, no matter how soon. It is not necessary to grin and thoughtfully suck up for a long time, exactly until all this appearance of what is happening floats into a prominent place. It's good that most actors play actors. Otherwise, how else could you determine their skills to transform into... actors! Unfortunately, the staging inside the production does not cause any resonance. And resonance is actually necessary. Or how else to calculate where the reality, and where fiction. In "The Grand Seduction", by all probability, there is a fit-fifty.
But (!) the “Scum” is full of charming aspects, to get carried away in which it will not be possible, probably, to those “not of this world”. The flames break out right in the middle of the field for a game of non-cricket, revealing the essence of the assembled between the guys by a hundred percent. The atmosphere is not discouraged, it expands the scope: it introduces the viewer to the life of pastoral grouse, shows their interaction with a resident from distant space, which they have not seen before. The outpouring performance is authoritatively managed with a motley humor of Canadian origin, which is really not so simple, and sometimes played in different ways. Thank you, there is an equilibration (in comparison with “I love your wife”, of course). The setup came out with the center of the caste link - Gleason loses to Kitsch. He loses, of course, not because he played worse (by no means), but because of continuous exploited stagnation. Taylor was lucky, because he does not differ in the presence of successful roles. The unpotential "Survivor" is a crackling ray, while the "Big Scam," unadorned, sparkling branch, symbolizing Kitsch's deft ascent into the monolith series.
Watching a movie is really nice. It's not stressful. Gives a thorough major shades of good. The main characters, the eternal provincials, kindly attract. The picturesqueness of Tickle Head, by the way, fascinates with a set of resourceful shots. The picture does not look cut, although it cannot be called complete. Something, but obliged to return to the mini-sphere of the port village. The mystery, conceitably, is simple. But to solve it, nevertheless, the treasury must personally. The easier the better. Really? With immensely gaping negative nuances, but surrendering to relatives at the first meeting. Take your eyes out, in a word.
