We're just people. All. Well, to begin with, I came across the film now by accident, clicking on the channels.
I immediately want to note that the film is certainly not a masterpiece of global scale, but at the same time, why is it interesting? From beginning to end, I watched it, which is already, personally, not bad for me, if we assume that modern Russian cinema, let’s say, is not quite the level that was in the Soviet era.
Yes. The plot is uncomplicated, but for our cinema it is new, at least I have not seen such films yet, which is not good, in this case, why find out below. A rich boy, of course, living almost in Paradise, this is how the director wants to present him that he did not succeed at all. In the beginning, we see only the “good old American car” (why not the Russian Seagull, for example?), we see brazen friends and their drive around the city screaming and screaming. That’s probably all the imagination of the creators to describe the “majors”, the children of rich parents. Then they show a modest room where dad and mom eat lunch with the main character, which also looks very stingy. No chic at all. Which was probably originally intended. And most likely in order to "protect from the wrath of the people" Mol do not show wealth, only hint, and there everything is already clear. In general, the whole film is designed in this manner. The viewer knows that a person has billions, but outwardly he does not see it, except for some moments and then extremely restrained. It's about the production.
Next. This film has many analogues in Hollywood. Or rather, “Pepper”, this is adapted for us Hollywood version of several there.
And that's why I thought it was too early. What is normal for America, namely showing a financial gap, a slice of rich and poor, looks a little artificial and somehow ugly, and above all far-fetched. We have not yet formed a society where the separation shown in the film would be justified.
Now that I like it. The characters are well chosen. A girl whose parents are in a 'sect' and who hides her cell phone from her parents because of its 'sinfulness'. It really is. A guy who lost his mother and lives with his father who drank after the tragedy in a communal room and is tormented by gopniks. He openly states that he is a coward in one episode. There is one too. You can believe that.
And finally, the guy on the wheelchair. He has skills that he's learned sitting in front of a computer for days and could use in his life, but he's resigned to his disability and claims nothing but his chair. And there is. Such people exist. There are actually plenty of them.
The actors are very well matched for these characters. You can see that the creators knew not by hearsay those who were created on the screen. And for that one can only praise. The faces, the clothes, the behavior, everything in these three characters is very true.
The main character, the son of the oligarch Maxim, did not quite like it, probably because I do not know such people in life and do not know their behavior, so I will not judge.
Also in the movie there are not new, but inserted allegories (images helping to understand something), brightly and perfectly showing the feelings of the main character. In general, the performance of the actors is also at a good level. Very textured director of the show. And many other moments that together please both the eye and the mind.
In general, the film can be seen and even enjoyed.
I wanted to write a negative review first, analyzing everything in the process, I realized that it is better neutral and at the very end I put a positive assessment.
The aftertaste came and delighted.
