This film decided to watch after a discussion in one of the social networks on the topic that do not make films based on the books of Krapivin. 'How can they not film it?' “Google it,” I cried, and went looking for movies. Well, the abundance of films shot on the books of Vladislav Petrovich, we can not boast. But here it is, I rejoiced when I saw the name "Escape of the Horned Vikings" and prepared to have fun, almost calling my youngest, who did not climb out of the Caravel until her eighteenth birthday. It’s a good thing I didn’t invite... such a disappointment I could not imagine. The first few minutes were promising, then promising, then... 'Well, how long can you look at your cartoons!' Iii, drum roll, and that's it. Then there's the pioneer camp movie. There is no talk, no play of the main characters.
Why did you write so little in fact? I said I couldn't look any further. That was 20 minutes. And I'm not ashamed. When I was 5 years old, I worked in a pioneer camp. You see, kids, they're different, they're alive, real. Making a good children's movie, therefore, is more difficult than a movie for adults, because picking up a child for the role is very difficult. I still watch children's films and believe in fairy tale heroes.
I'm very upset. For club cinema, for viewing among the actors who took part in the production, well, it will do. For the show in Caravel itself, of course. But releasing it to a wide audience is blasphemy.
Unlucky with film adaptations Commander. This film was no exception either. And if the initial credits (bright colors, a kind of action, humor) still inspired any hopes, then the subsequent action on the screen confirmed the general rule – another film based on the book Krapivin failed.
You are convinced once again: the bright picture and cute faces of the main characters are not everything! You need to be able to play and even live the lives of your characters. Maybe at the auditions, young actors and showed a noble game, but on the screen I did not see this: foolishly pushed in the frame, clearly not knowing how to behave in a particular scene; bored sitting, and the zippered text was voiced in a dull tone - all in the best traditions of an ordinary school morning.
Maybe it's not the young actors' fault. It's just that they couldn't reproduce a piece of that vibrant life that is now called "Soviet" childhood - I think the director suspected it and tried to bring the book to our time - but it's even more confusing for children - for what could be more ridiculous to watch modern teenagers make helmets and shields to walk in formation on the streets of their town - it's just facepalm, in modern language! If you are trying to translate the plot into modern realities, then it was not so difficult to look at and see what the children live next to you - they would have put Samokhin's gang on a scooter (five or seven years ago this was a trend for teenagers! - I start from the button phones of the main characters), they would have called the "motoband", of course, not the "Night Wolves", but just the "Vikings" (as a justification they would have shown how Samokhin in the evenings watches the series "Viking" - just at that time he walked), everything would have looked more plausible.
The next - it feels like the authors of the film have not been able to fully determine which genre they shoot: you can observe attempts to translate it - the film - to comedy rails (hence the reference and screaming nurse a la "sirena" from "Alien Entrance ...", and running, at an accelerated pace, Victoria - an association with "Business people" Gaidai, etc.), but at some point something went wrong - and at the moment when a wooden box from under the container is broken about Samokhin's head, some comedy turns into a negative mood (the appearance of the main characters does not look at all).
Just a few more things. It has already been noted above that the taking of cookies, Kinder-surprises and money from five or six-year-olds looks fake and causes annoyance by the absurdity of the situation - OK, I believe that a couple of marginal teenagers could do this, but that the entire Viking detachment did so (no doubt, in the cinema the Vikings are shown by warriors proud, brave and with honor!)? And even smart (speech competent, rich vocabulary, correctly formulates his thoughts) and advanced Samokhin why are these machines children?!
I will also note some negligence in the timing of the actions of the characters - here are a few taken at random: when the messenger of the enemies falls on her back, Victoria manages to escape to the well, take a bucket, come back and splash water over the fence (once again - a 12-year-old girl splashes water over the fence above human height! - what?!) - and all this time the messenger lies on her back! Or when Nina Valeryevna, fighting back from the robot cat, screams for a whole minute - and what - our heroes are all this time sitting watching what is happening?! - and only when the aunt climbs the tire on a rope, "wooden" our heroes "wake up" and begin to create fuss!
Also, many times show how our main characters "sit and idle" (quoted from Krapivin) - well, give them cell phones - let them play on the grid, or each on its own. Well, or just show how the brothers are picking around in an old system unit, and the others are next to you and look – this is interesting! – but we see the porch and on it just sitting and not knowing what to play actors.
What about the karate girl? – This gun will never fire! But it was possible to beat it so beautifully (remember the movie "Hands up!" Grammatikova and agent Dragonfly!). How not to "shoot" and robokot - what prevented him to let, for example, on reconnaissance in the yard of Samokhin, at a time when the "Vikings" painted shields there?
Well, the finale remains some open and unclear - what conclusions did Samokhin draw for himself? You got even more angry and hated Johnny even more? And in general, some morality for themselves "Vikings" and their leader understood?
We can also list the shortcomings. But we'll stop there. In the absence of any children’s feature films – let there be something!
Cons: “wooden” play of the characters, dull voiceover, ridiculous-sounding literary speech in the mouths of modern teenagers; the effect of “don’t believe” during some episodes; indistinct finale.
Pros: beautiful juicy colors; songs and their performance, live play of the heroine Victoria.
Children's movies are dead? Yes and hello to the children's movie!
I wanted to write so much, and it turns out that everything has already been said, so I will be brief. Being born in the USSR, I was brought up on "Electronics and Syroezhkins", "Petrov and Vasechkins", "Breakfast on the grass", etc., etc. - the list can go on indefinitely. With the collapse of the Soviet Union collapsed a lot. Children’s movies, of course, this fate also did not pass. For more than two decades, the screens were dominated by Pixar and Disney cartoons, which, for all their advantages, not only could not replace, but even discouraged children from good old children's films. And then, bang!!! What was that?!
I watched The Flight of the Horned Vikings for the first time three times. For me, as a director of children’s films and TV, this is a professional habit developed over the years.
Of the pluses - only the pluses: excellent, warm, summer picture, impeccable immersion in the Krapivinsky children's atmosphere, peculiar only to his works, a decent game of young actors, a whole bunch of successful directorial decisions, great sound, great music, successful inclusion of animation - the film looks on one breath!
Good, but not enough!
I would like to wish the director creative forces and new children's masterpieces!
Why don't you give it to the neck? They won't know in Geneva!
I have to admit that I only read the story at 35. Perhaps that is why this story about how Johnny and his comrades “outdone” the goat detachment of Black Yarl Tolik remained in memory, and was not forgotten under the weight of time, like many childhood books. And maybe that’s why I decided to see: what is it now, in the years of victorious multiculturalism, were able to create in children’s cinema? The perception was far from clear. I’ve already had a lot of talk about color, sound, directing and special effects, so I won’t repeat myself. And so it is known that, unlike many stupid adult filmmaking, this film was created by the efforts of enthusiasts, special thanks to them for this. But still, the impression of a computer simulation of a goat attack is not very positive - it would really be worth working on it more deeply and seriously. As for animated inserts - in my opinion, it was so possible to do without this, but, apparently, for a new generation, the most savor is often this.
And, by the way, I also drew attention to the little drummer left on the battlefield who did not chicken out, who was not in the story - but here is a clear allusion to the lines from the famous Krapivinsk poem: "When we hide the battered flags behind the sinuses by the winds, and silently burn the last ships near the shore, our little drummer will go for the evening sun and a thin shiny ice floes in the yellow distance." Whatever you say, and the standard-bearer and drummer are iconic figures in any military formation, it is not for nothing that Krapivin paid much attention to them in his novels.
The result - some young actors tried, they and voices were put, and the words in their mouths sounded not dull and formless. Impressed the main antagonist - most likely, he should try to film more and more - very cute in appearance. The main protagonist, on the contrary, looked like a buffalo-eyed, although who knows him, maybe Johnny Vorobyov should be like that? The heroine is not at all beautiful, but there is something in her that makes you pay attention to herself - some hidden highlight, maybe the future movie star is asleep in her.
In general, yes, a step towards the recreation of children's cinema is made, the main thing is not to stop there.
It would be too much for me to go to the cinema (not because of the film itself, I just haven’t gone there since Soviet times), but I bought a viewing at the Movie Search. I did not regret the money spent. There was a lot of talk about the film online. So I decided to see what was shot on Krapivin, many of whose works I consider masterpieces of children's literature. The film adaptations of the writer’s books do not like – they have rare strong moments, scenes, but no more. Therefore, the Vikings looked with bias.
My impression is that the film was very decent.
The creators managed (as it seems to me) to escape the temptation to “take pictures” in the time period of the cycle of stories, and it would have been easier. A big plus - the film by Krapivin looks authentic and convincing against the background of the "cultural landscape" of modernity. It seems to me that this moment is the most technically difficult for the creators and fundamental for the viewer in terms of perceiving the film in the context of a literary work. Here the script and directing hit, as they say, the bull’s eye.
Cons, strange as it is, the same scenario (please consider – this is my point of view). Where monologue dialogues are dead, the actors play and the whole scene sag. Conversely, a live dialogue monologue is the play of actors at a height, the scene is perceived truthfully. I refer this minus to the script. And yet, the minus is perceived not as a failure, but as some, and probably inevitable for any film, roughness. There is not much of that swelling.
Artistic production, music, sound, light - at a height. Separately, I want to note the work of the operator. Playing actors of all ages, especially children, surprised and convinced. I don’t know how to say correctly (not an expert), post-production video (color-light) sags in some dynamic and not key scenes, but in key it is perfect; in general, the “picture” is perceived easily and harmoniously. How much controversy in the network caused the unfortunate “drawn” goat ... I found the special effects convincing, as some noted, they can not be called for sure. Musical and cartoon inserts perfectly fit into the film. In general, the film has a lot of witty touches and "director's finds".
I will not write about the semantic component. The roots of good and evil are shown, good and friendship win. Let everyone look for their own meaning.
A children's film should be criticised first by children, not by an old fifty-year-old like me, but I tried. Children’s and adults’ perceptions of movies are different, I know. As far as I can tell from the reviews, the kids liked the movie, and that’s the main thing. And the most important thing is that Ilya Bialyostotsky (and all those involved) showed that our children's cinema can be real, if you approach the cinema not "tyap-dump" and "quickly fill your pocket", but as a favorite business, with faith in your favorite business, and in yourself.

So I finally got to see a movie that has been talked about since 2010. The film, based on one of Vladislav Krapivin’s most beloved short stories, was expected with hope and apprehension – the first was all right, the second was not. Yes, some roughness and conventions are noticeable, but the mood of Krapivin completely caught, good triumphed, evil remained in thoughtfulness. And is it possible to consider Evil a boy, albeit malicious, but intelligent, bright (the boy who played the role of Samokhin, his eyes will be remembered for a long time), who knows how to “hold a blow” and admit defeat? It was easy to imagine yourself in the place of each of the heroes, to the place were all the musical inserts, and in the final I wanted to be there, on the street of a small town, whose residents, abandoning business, joined the small squad of Johnny Vorobyov returning with a victory song.
The film clearly has movie quotes - I remembered our Musketeers, and our own "Sold laughter, there are excellent (in every sense) finds - for example, missing in the book of Vladislav Petrovich did not run the battlefield little drummer from the company of "bad" Vikings, there is a certain "timelessness" - a world in which events occur, without imposing touches of time, and therefore understandable to anyone who remembers his childhood.
The pluses include a sense of camaraderie, a variety of moments that cause an understanding smile, to the minuses - not too (in my opinion) a successful animation. Most importantly, there is no boredom in this film. And that the end of the session causes sadness - and the desire "if only the film was longer...") .
PS. But my favorite phrase from the story, which became the title of this review, never sounded in the film.
What to say here – the impression is more than beautiful. The movie is very lively. On the one hand, kept in the best traditions of children's cinema, on the other - very unusual and unlike anything. Perfectly conveys the plot and atmosphere of the book, but at the same time there is a temperament and brilliant imagination of the director. Those who have read the book know that it is hilarious - the film is three times hilarious. Each comic moment is amplified many times, but without any vulgarity, on the contrary, with great taste.
The acting is at an excellent level, the characters are very interesting, each has a visible volume, and some have additional chips. It was especially gratifying that the performers of the roles of grandmother Natasha (Irina Tutulova) and Vikina aunt (Lyudmila Petrusheva) were annealed even worse than the younger actors. The guy who played Johnny (Eugene Oleschuk), for the first time raised some questions, but on the second viewing completely convinced.
The most accurate hit, in my opinion, in Victoria (Darya Chistyakov), Samokhin (Nikita Lipunov), twins Bori and Stas (Miroslav Bykov and Nikita Smirnov), aunt Vika (Lyudmila Petrusheva), grandmothers Natasha (Irina Tutulov) and Peskar (Alexey Lomakin). The film was shot in Tyumen, I have never been there, but in the film the city is shown so that I wanted to live there. Of the shortcomings, the songs seemed a bit alien, or rather, I can not believe that they were composed by Seryozhka (Ilya Plyasukhin), and we hear that they are sung by people who learn this. At the same time, the songs are simple enough to be entrusted to the voice actors themselves. It might not be so clean, but more natural. But that's my opinion. That's how the guys sing, of course:
Now is the moment that struck me most from the best side. This is an instrumental musical accompaniment. I noted the highest level of recording and performance of music (as well as the music itself), and this time I watched the credits more or less carefully. And I'm a little humiliated by the fact that the creators invited an Italian orchestra. To arrange such a chic recording of music for a children's film with a household plot and a missing budget is almost an act of heroism. There is no orchestra, for example, in the TV series The Master and Margarita (2005), The Witcher (2002), the films D’Artagnan and the Three Musketeers, Sold Laughter, etc. In the first case, the music is completely synthetic, not counting the choir, which is recorded by three singers with overlays, in the second - mainly singers and several instruments on which the composer plays, in the third and fourth plays the group. Apparently, although all these were large-scale projects, the budget was considered inexpedient, and how in vain - how chic all the spectacular scenes of MIM and orchestra sounded! They are already fascinating, but plastic timbre bulges from everywhere! The creators of Vikings, having no budget at all, spent so much attention, effort and resources on such a complex, but not the most necessary thing, which was given up by authoritative creators with state support, and for a film that is set not in a fantasy or fantasy world, not in the old days, and in which there is no mysticism. Many would be satisfied with guitar, bass, drums and a synthesizer at best, but most likely only synthesizers and sequencers. This is incredible. I bow to everyone involved in this aspect of the film. As far as I know, the recording was organized by Boris Tarakanov.
Moral: Going to this movie is a must. Even if you don’t like it, it’s not a pity to spend a bit of time on it.
First of all, The Flight of the Horned Vikings is the first Krapyvin book I read as a child. It was summer, at the dacha of a friend of Antoha, I was about 8 years old. Heat, smells of herbs, careless "doing nothing." In short, the book found me when I needed to. Until now, this is the most native and favorite work of Vladislav Petrovich.
And so, years later, I watched a film in which the creators preserved the cheerful warmth of childhood summer, the brightness of the characters, humor. And that’s great, especially because the film is being developed in modern settings. The context is modern, understandable to the “now” guys, and the history, spirit, atmosphere remain the same. And that's great!
For me, the indicator of the success of the film was that everyone laughed at the premiere screening in Yekaterinburg. And kids like me, back in their childhood for the session, and our kids. It seems to me that the director Ilya Belostotsky managed the main thing - to make a modern film that feels like the good old children's-Soviet. Thank you to him and the whole team! Well, and Vladislav Petrovich Krapivin, for the brightest children's book.
A wonderful family film that should see not only children, but also their parents, older brothers, sisters, grandparents and here's why!
From the first minutes, the picture introduces the audience to the main characters and their way of life, but how original and humorous! I am 33 years old and laughed like a child, enthusiastically immersed in the past – a carefree, at first glance, childhood, which harbors simultaneously joy, laughter, fun and anxiety with fear, fear of injustice, adult arbitrariness and conflicts with older bullies.
In the easy and serene life of ordinary children, hooligans appear - a Viking gang that offends the younger and smashes everything in its path. And then begins the most interesting and important thing that children and especially adults need to learn from this film - good should not defeat evil, good should stop this evil and be sure to forgive.
The film with the words and deeds of small and sometimes defenseless children tells and shows us, adults, strong and educated, intelligent and knowing everything, how important it is to protect peace and good around you, to be able to lend a helping hand to the weak, not to be indifferent, not to be discouraged in a difficult moment and whatever happens there and no matter how difficult it is, to go forward and bring rays of heat to others.
The director managed to convey to the viewer, primarily a child, the archival meaning of human life - to preach peace, goodness, love, justice and the ability to forgive. And we, adults, among other things, can not be indifferent, as two “policemen” are passionate in the picture with their simple occupation.
The film “Escape of the Horned Vikings”, based on the story of V. P. Krapivin, immerses the viewer in the atmosphere of childhood, but not carefree, but filled with its very important problems and discoveries, its dreams and hopes. His heroes are simple boys and girls who are a little naughty, a little capricious, but always ready to suffer for justice and not averse to doing a selfless good deed. Of course, not everyone is so good. There are also negative characters.
Do not believe the popular wisdom that one in the field is not a warrior. Know that a handful of noble daredevils led by a fearless goat can defeat a squad of well-trained formidable Vikings!
Pros:
- talented play of child actors
Quality color correction
- Beautiful animation in transitions
- hit soundtrack
Cons:
The film is too short, one hour is negligible
Due to the small screen time, the logic of the actions of the heroes is not fully understood.
9 out of 10
The film is interesting and very funny, lively, do not get bored. The filmmakers managed to convey the character of the Krapivin heroes. I especially liked the images of adults. They are shown as children see them.
I would say that this is one of the best adaptations of Vladislav Krapivin.
After watching the film, there were very warm and joyful feelings, a feeling of immersion in a happy childhood.
I went to the premiere with great fear. Since childhood, I love the books of Krapivin and did not part with this love all my life - now "Krapivin" lives not only me with friends (long since solid such uncles), but also for 10 years - the squad "Flagman", boys and girls of which are happy to continue the adventures of the heroes of the beloved Commander in life!
But I have not seen any decent films on Krapivin. It is difficult to film it - then the author's ideas fall to the root, then the boredom of death. As a child, I remember the TV series “Boy with a Sword” and the film “Riders from Rosa Station”. Everyone watched, then discussed, rejoiced. Are those movies somewhere now? Would we be so excited about them today? The technology is not the same, the worldview has changed.
And suddenly - in the concert hall "Salute" native Yekaterinburg - the premiere of "Escape of the Horned Vikings"! Well, of course, for those 7 years, while the film was edited, there were many passions for it. Someone demanded that the film be released on screens right now, someone – that on the contrary, you need to finish everything as much as possible. I may be wrong, but the government didn’t invest in the film. The work of enthusiasts for the money of enthusiasts.
We did. We saw it. And... I still don’t understand how it is – these cartoon inserts, not at all Krapivinsky... Dancing songs... A girl who doesn’t look like Vick at all... Not a girl, but a grotesque jumper.
And it turned out in the end - the film - Krapivinsky! With his - Commander - kind and cheerful ideas, his childish furious dynamics! It was somehow necessary to collect so many things unusual for the world of Krapivinsky books, in order to eventually make a Krapivinsky film. And the guys of the detachment, and their parents, and the flagships agreed – The film turned out!
Thank you to the director for such a miracle.
After watching the film caused unpleasant sensations. I will start with the fact that I really like various children's films, especially Soviet ones (for example, chic paintings "Attention, Turtle!", "Kortik", "Guest from the Future", "Buratino", "Kingdom of Curved Mirrors" and others), which the film tries to look like.
First of all, I want to note one detail: I watched all the above pictures without reading the original source, and at the same time I was impressed by the paintings. After watching The Vikings, there was a feeling of “What was it just?” But it comes down to the advantages and disadvantages.
Advantages:
1) A bright and pleasant picture, which is pleasant to look at, the frames are shot with a beautiful light design, there is an atmosphere.
2) The film really causes nostalgia and bright emotions for the first 15 minutes, then does not cause any.
(3) Actors performing adult roles, although somewhat overlap, but still look appropriate.
(4) Beautiful and appropriate cartoon on the transitions between locations.
Disadvantages:
1) The complete absence of a good message.
2) Disgusting effects. Given the cheapness of the production itself, it was possible to invest in the effects and draw a goat at least a little convincing. What we see in the film, even the effect is difficult to call, it is so, the effect.
(3) The main characters play at a low level. Emotions are not visible, the guys just say memorized text, on a couple of frames of dialogues without even trying to focus their eyes on the interlocutor.
(4) Politely speaking, the weird goat story that raises the question "What the hell?" Perhaps the creators shot strictly according to the book, then the questions of script stupidity disappear.
5) Unpleasant camera work, the character's face often occupies the entire screen.
(6) Unnecessary musical inserts, especially with the leader of the Vikings.
7) A lot of unnecessary and unnecessary, first of all - NICAK does not affect the plot of the electric cat.
(8) Disclosure of characters through a brief description of the text on the screen, not characters or actions, but three to four phrases on the screen. Thanks for the voiceover.
In conclusion, I want to say that the film is just a stretched and overloaded sketch from Yeralash, which tries to seem like a film. The film does not have the necessary good message for children's cinema, this is the main drawback. I don’t recommend the movie.
Honestly, I went to the premiere with great fears. I don't like children's movies, I hate film adaptations, I can't stand comedy. I didn’t like the lead actor Johnny. I just thought it was different.
But the movie turned out great. I looked in one breath and constantly caught myself wanting to applaud each new frame. How did Bialystok manage to do this miracle?
Krapivin has been filmed before. All films are extremely unsuccessful. For a simple reason - from Krapivin there is absolutely nothing left. “Vikings” is a Krapivinian film, as they say, in full growth.
Screening for good books is almost never successful. The viewer is annoyed when the film diverges from his favorite work. If it is written in a book, then it is boring, because everything is known in advance.
The Vikings follow the book pretty closely. And yet everything is told so original, unusual, with such imagination and charm that it amazes every frame, every episode. And wait - well, how do we filmmaker will tell another twist of the plot? You get a surprise every time.
For example, how to remove such a phrase: “Lipa looked into the distance, and she shook like a fan with a broken blade. You bet! She used to fight with only one disgusting orange door, and now such doors moved on her crowd!
Small deviations from the book became real finds. The most memorable - after the defeat of the Viking gang on the field there is one boy - a drummer. Lonely, brave, helpless. It's not in the book, but it's great!
The key to the success of the film were well-chosen guys. The Krapivin type is quite special. It must be felt in the heart. If you make a mistake, fail the movie. And it's all OK. It’s not because they play well and cope with even heavy literary dialogue. The main thing is real Krapivina boys, with the famous “scratched knees and noses”. And a real Krapivan girl. By the way, all the actors were approved not only by the director, but also by the writer. And who better than Krapivin to feel your special type! And it was Johnny - Zhenya Oleschuk who seemed especially good. The photos could not convey all the charm of his character and the amazing acting of this boy.
A small deviation from the book became real finds. The most memorable - after the defeat of the Viking gang on the field there is one boy - a drummer. Lonely, brave, helpless. It's not in the book, but it's great!
From comedy, we expect a comedic, eralashic game. But the plot is based on drama, and children play drama, yes, with humor, with cunning, with a spark. But they do not overplay, do not bloat their eyes, do not make grimaces. The genre of tragicomedy, in which Eldar Ryazanov loved to create films, rarely hits children's screens. “Attention, Turtle” Bykov, “Private Pioneer” Karpilovski and now “Vikings” ...
Adults don't like children's movies. All these films, where schoolchildren with sophisticated insidiousness catch criminals better than the police, with uninfantile courage and skill, defeat adult villains. The problem is credibility. We just don’t believe that children are not like children.
Vikings will be as interesting to adults as children (and maybe even more so to adults!). The film tells a very real story of a yard company boy, and we all like to remember our childhood. This could have happened.
There are songs in the film, and here the Vikings echo the work of Soviet director Leonid Nechaev (remember Buratino?). However, musical inserts do not break the dynamics (everything stopped and began to sing), no, they are organically interwoven into the fabric of the narrative. What is beautiful is that in the film boys sing for the heroes, not Elena Kamburova. Not the actors themselves, of course. For Sergey Voloshin, a young singer from Kazan Zulfat Gabdulin, for Samokhin - Daniel Gilev. By the way, Samokhin dances in the film - and quite well.
Vikings is a modern movie. Unlike adult cinema, it is difficult to make a modern film about children. An adult film about the world we live in now. A children's film is always a memory. But the director grew up in a completely different country. In modern Russia, we are all foreigners. But “Vikings” is a modern film, although there are almost no mobile phones, there are no gadgets at all, and the yard company of boys is clearly from the last century.
The film is shot in the modern language of cinema, the work of the operator is excellent, each plan can be admired. And also wonderful cartoon inserts that echo the fashionable children YouTube. This movie is understandable to children, it is their family, close, not for nothing the auditorium was filled with a ringing laugh. There are a lot of special effects in the film, but they are not too noticeable and sometimes you wonder if this is filmed or still painted?
Well, so I don't get accused of bias, a little bit about flaws -- who doesn't? I think it's just two things. Sometimes it is difficult to take long dialogues taken from a book. And more. According to the story of Johnny Vorobyov seven years. It is impossible to remove this, after all, there is a psychological age, and seven-year-old Krapivin Johnny is no longer a kindergartener and a first-grader. The kid just wouldn't take that role. In the film, the hero is not seven, but nine. In reality, the actor Wife Oleschuk was eleven. He seems to be the same age as the rest of the company. Therefore, all jokes about age, mechanically transferred from the book, lost and became incomprehensible. It was probably worth working out the script for a real boy.
However, small roughness does not interfere at all. After all, we have the first real Krapivinsk cinema!
The film was made difficult and long. That is, everything was removed quickly, but the editing, special effects, cartoon inserts took seven and a half years from the director. Without money, without resources, almost without support and help, Ilya Bialyostotsky made this movie with incredible perseverance. Creating “Vikings” is a real feat, and it is worth saying a huge thank you to the author of the film for the incredible work, for not giving up, stood up and gave us this wonderful film story!
