How It Was: Aliens Continued by Jim Cameron Charles de Lozirica has documented all parts of the Alien franchise. The man did a great job. Thanks to such work, you can not only watch how everything happened technically. You can see the problems and hear different points of view. For example, in the first film there were graters about the authorship of the film. Walter Hill and Dan O’Bannon (Kingdom of Heaven) are at odds over this.
The second film was no less problematic. These materials allow us to learn about this. The main driving force was director James Cameron and producer Gail Ann Hurd. Subsequently, these people will cement their relationship by marriage. Not really, really.
It's all about the British. The first films of the franchise were made in England. And if Ridley Scott was literally idolized by local figures, this was not the case with Cameron. He's not even an American, he's a Canadian. However, this aspect was not decisive. Jim had a phenomenal performance. He caught the thought, after that it is almost impossible to stop him.
But the British are very measured. All that tea and stuff. Therefore, their style of work of the director simply did not suit. But the director is manifested not only in artistic terms. You need to have special organizational skills. And Cameron wasn't just a studio director. He had his own vision, clearly imagining what he wanted.
Despite all the difficulties, they managed to make a great film. A slightly changed genre that went to the benefit of the picture. Many actors are still proud to star in this film.
