Trinity not the most famous people in the profession decided to gather and put an anthology of short horror films with black humor and unexpected endings in stories. This inconspicuous collection is interesting because it became the unofficial predecessor of the popular series Tales from the Crypt. The format is incredibly similar, and it is already very difficult to see the obvious inspirational parallels between him or the comics of the 50s of the same name, because every instructive story opens a frankly ridiculous narrator in the form of a chatty joker-skeleton created from a fake doll surrounded by the same funny vultures, and even the first story is exactly identical to the episode “The Secret” from the above-named future series with the Cryptor! An incredible coincidence of the thoughts of two different writers? Plagiarism? Citation? Everyone will form an opinion for themselves, and we will simply consider the opening horror story “Young Blood”.
A hypnotized worker from an orphanage with a colleague goes to a house where a strange aristocratic couple lives. He's a count, she's a countess. Both have an Eastern European accent, typical of screen vampires. They want to adopt a child. Paul doesn't matter as long as he's healthy. Soon they bring a naughty boy...
As I mentioned, six years later, the Warden of the Crypt will introduce us to the same story, where the differences are found only in the smallest details. Therefore, those who have seen it will know in advance the main intrigue of the current horror film. But, if the episode is missed, then what happens on the screen will amuse the development of affairs, first frightening with sinister fatalism with a child who has become another dinner about two legs, forced to unwittingly wait for an unenviable fate among bloodthirsty bloodsuckers, and then making a surprising turn, changing the poles of the story in places. The production is short, so it has all the salt in a climactic zigzag, turning the plot upside down, distorting the primary roles.
"The Guardians" is the second story. A crooked couple trades in grave robbery. One day they decide to go down to the catacombs under the burnt down church, hoping to make a big profit.
Distinguishes the history of the entourage of antiquity of the nineteenth century, the intensifying effect of the edifying horror story about two crooks who fell into an underground trap full of gloomy stone vaults, coffins destroyed by time, bones, skeletons, turning earthen passages into a labyrinth, where every shadow can collapse, the neighborhood with the disturbed dead causes goosebumps, and the very “guards” that were placed in the title lurked around. They have no numbers and are terribly hungry. It is not difficult to guess who they are, so the scenario intrigue is based on waiting for the next trick in the old catacombs, the long-awaited appearance or absence of mystical elements, because the entourage is cunningly disposed to gothic motifs with ghosts. The story on the film turned out to be simple, reduced to wandering through the stone monastery of eternal rest with various obstacles up to a fatal error, but the scenery itself does not cause complaints, transmitting the gloomy and dangerous gut of the crypt.
The third bike is called “Visions of Sugar-Plum”. Little brother and sister are left for Christmas at Grandma's. At first, everything goes quite nice, but soon the old woman runs out of medicine and she begins to get weirder and scarier.
Oh, very fun, funny, exciting! It turned out the brightest story, full of good madness, artistic courage and black humor. The format itself is interesting, reminiscent of a terrible modernized fairy tale about a boy and a girl who found themselves in the house of a witch. Improves the presentation of a contrasting Christmas entourage with kind songs, decorated with a tree, scattered gifts, the status of grandchildren near the grandmother, where the madness progresses: from the initial innocent eccentricity to insane antics that attempt the lives of children. Scary scenes deliberately served in the color of black humor and holiday horror, so viewing is doubly interesting. The unusual villain turned out to be very funny from a restless decrepit old woman who went crazy. A number of scenes to watch without a smile is simply impossible, for example, where the grandmother tells the children a fairy tale before bed about Santa Claus, snapping at various unusual themes details, how she drove a brick over his head when he flew past on a sleigh, or where she reaches a climax, turning the course of events into a humorous horror balaghan, driving around on a chair around the house with a pot, like a helmet, and shooting everything in a row with a shotgun. And the ending of the story is excellent, aggravating the atmosphere of some unthinkably crazy fairy tale, again causing another smile.
Complete all the traditional instructive words of the talkative skeleton Igor, vainly promising that soon there will be new stories, again evocating allusions to the famous series of the Caretaker of the crypt, deftly took over the baton from his friend from a similar magical cemetery, where they broadcast chatty fake dolls, sharing short stories. Therefore, I think that fans of such formats of little horror stories with great pleasure will spend an hour and a half at the screen, immersed in the third dimension.
