It takes a lot of Love and Kindness to save humanity from falling into the bloody abyss of evil and hatred. We have to go the way of Gandhi, denying violence. This is the only true salvation. One day I thought about movies and their perception. If while watching a movie you think about something, think about the meaning of life, and in general think about something, then the film is empty, because thinking about it usually comes after watching the film, not while watching it. Because the impressive film does not allow you to gather your thoughts while watching, he keeps emotions “in his fist” tearing apart the heart and soul.
Probably at that moment (when this thought occurred to me), I forgot what author’s cinema is, and especially what films are. The thought that came to my mind was wrong. I just remember emotions, sensations, thoughts - everything was a single whole, inseparable from each other, being at the same time a "bare nerve", a compressed spring that threatened to decompose at any moment of viewing.
Even the title of this film "History of Blood" (or "Bloody Saga"), speaks for itself very clearly. And the viewer realizes even before the start of viewing that the film will be very much blood. Blood, blood, blood ... everywhere blood, always blood Its thick, nauseating sweetish smell causes dizziness. And this is the life-supporting fluid, the most expensive, and at the same time the cheapest bargaining chip of life. It seems incomprehensible that by the will of the Almighty, this jewel (blood) went to the most cruel and often brutal predator in the world - man. An eye for an eye, and enemies bleed. People are killed and destroyed by all available means and methods.
1. Money. Violent. Fear. Impunity. Crowd management = Blood. 2. Envy. Anger. Vile. Intrigue. Power. Place on top = Blood. 3. Urate. Pain. Woe. Emptiness. Hate. Revenge = Blood. 4. Mutiny. Strategy. Eliminating the enemy. Submission. Wars = Blood. And so on forever. A kind of closed circle of blood circulation. Revenge is a goal that is as old as the world, and it will continue as long as humanity lasts.
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Thoughts are light, swift and elusive. I'm afraid to turn around, and if I don't come back...
Powerful movie. Terrible and terrible (not in the sense of a horror film, but in the sense of a terrifying reality) Varma has remained true to itself - gloomy, tragic, frightening events are reflected so brightly and juicily that the body is covered with goosebumps, and remains in this state until the end. You are so imbued with emotions and energy messages coming from the screen that you no longer separate yourself from what is happening there. This is due to the fact that reality, a cruel reality, which left a mark on history, is shown. Looking at the screen you begin to think about it, and thoughts do not leave during both parts of the film, you feel as if with horror, the hair moves on your head and the blood freezes in your veins. Demonstrated events are aggravated by a melody that cannot be isolated, she is a full participant in the film.
The apogee of the story are the people who brought the characters to life on the screen. Previously, seeing them in the works of Varma, I was only surprised by the huge number of actors I did not know, except for the main characters. Now watching the film, was the joy of meeting, with such, became relatives, faces. Who, after all, appeared in a new way. But the focus of my attention, unconditionally, was two amazing actors, whom I consider the best in his generation. Before their talent I bow my head in reverence - Vivek Oberoi and Surya Shivakumar. I will not, and I will not be able to specify their game. You have to see this! Facial expression of eyes, faces, frozen tears, anger, emptiness, hatred, detachment. All I know is that without the two of them, it would have been a completely different movie. Vivek was great, he eclipsed everyone in this film. Even Suryu, although Surya made a great debut in Bollywood, and was also inimitable, but Viviek is still at the top of his talent in this film, just an outstanding game. I was especially struck by the coolness with which these people killed each other without blinking an eye, without trembling their hands. Just shooting and stabbing each other. It's awful, actually. This speaks to the inner emptiness of the characters, that everything human in them died.
Ever since I was in high school, and I've been watching Hollywood movies of this kind, I've always wondered, how can killers, in front of a lot of people, when everyone sees them, just kill someone and disappear into a crowd? These people see them, they see them shooting at someone, but why don’t they shout about it, grab their hand and drag them to the police? He just passed by, grab him, knit him and get him to the police. And only when watching this film, I understood why this is happening - people hear the shooting, begin to run chaoticly and randomly to the exit, like madmen, seeing nothing and no one and noticing around them, just to save their lives. And so the murderers quietly disappear, disappearing into this distraught crowd of people, which is firmly seized by fear.
A little bit of advice... If you live in your own world, cherish peace of mind, protect it like the apple of your eye, and heavy, global thoughts you do not need - do not watch this film. If what is happening in the next apartment, in the house around the corner, in the alley behind the courtyard, in another city, you are not interested - DO NOT WATCH this movie.
If you prefer to face the truth; if you wonder where violence comes from; if you believe that violence only breeds violence, watch this movie. If you like the work of Ram Gopal Varma, and you definitely want to see the actors involved in the film - then you must watch this film.
Revenge never ends, and that’s what the film’s final scene implies. And the director has been successful in his efforts to deliver the message to the audience. This is one of the best works of Ram Gopal Varma and it is excellent in all aspects. The film is not for the faint of heart. The violence, blood and fear depicted in the film are shocking and confusing, which only confirms how skillfully the material is handled.
Of course, I didn’t get it right. I’ve been through it for two days. I'm still shocked by what I saw. But now I can go on and watch another movie.
